Estate Lawyers.ca LLP During the sale of our property, the real estate agent had negotiated the final offer to include the buyers assuming the rental of the hot-water heater and air conditioning unit (my recommendation since the warranty and service was for the life of the rental contract) When the personnel from Real Estate Lawyers.ca LLP drew up the legal agreement they omitted this clause. At the time of the docu sign my wife and I were at a campground, and could only get wifi at the office which was closing. Faced with the time pressure we assumed that the legal agreement was based on the final offer and signed as instructed. We only later realized when the financials were sent to us that missing this part of the final offer would cost us an additional $11,000.00 to buy out the contracts. On the purchase of our present property, I had written an email to the lawyer @Real Estate Lawyers.ca LLP asking for the necessary forms to do a EFT from our bank to the escrow account for this transaction – he copied me a email to Ms Tea asking to forward the same. This never happened. The notary that was assigned to the sale of my daughter’s property and purchase of our new property had information for my daughter’s identity affidavit mixed up with my wife’s, which had nothing to do with the sale of their property and my daughter was able to catch at least a ½ dozen mistakes and corrections that had to be done, with the notary constantly saying he had another appointment he that had to look after. I again asked for information about the EFT from the notary and was told “he didn’t look after this it would be sent to me”. After the docusign was completed for the purchase of the new property (when the expense disbursement that was emailed to us the evening before the transfer was due) I did receive directions about how much to transfer. I went to the bank. The teller told me that the information that I had on the email made no sense to him and that he couldn’t do the transfer based upon what was provided. The bank manger was kind enough to intercede. She asked if we had a telephone number for the personnel who had sent us the information and we found that. She called the employee and left a voice mail, and since we were standing waiting she asked for a response in 15 minutes. The bank supplied us with WIFI and I wrote 2 emails to the employee’s email explaining our situation (no response). Because considerable time had pasted the bank manager invited us into her office so we could sit down. She called the employee of Real Estate Lawyers.ca LLP again. Upon reaching the employee the bank manager explained that there was no co-ordination with any of the account numbers that had been provided us in the email. Eventually the employee indicated that the information supplied wasn’t for a EFT but for an ebill payment! the bank manager explained that there was no indication that this is what the numbers were for and that an epayment would require 13 digits not 8 numbers that had been provided. The bank manager was able to get the account and branch code to effect a EFT and completed the task, giving us a receipt of the transfer. The bank manager made a further call to the Real Estate Lawyers.ca LLP employee and verbally confirmed the transfer. The employee asked the bank manager to send her a copy of the receipt that had been issued to us. The bank manager did this and copied us the email of the scanned receipt.

I used these lawyers twice, one for my initial purchase, and again a few years later. I did not have any major issues the first round when seemingly senior or intermediate and experienced employees were directly looking over my file, but the second round of purchase and sale were a complete mess. I made several attempts to make sure that I had submitted everything needed from me, and I would get confirmation from them each time that they had everything they needed, only to reach out to me last minute for a missing piece of information or a document that would have held up or voided the sale/purchase process. It was not a smooth or enjoyable experience and therefore I cannot recommend them to anyone. If not for the good experience I had with them during my first purchase, my review would have been a 1 star.
