Bicycle repair shop
"Great at what they do"
"A great shop for finding used parts, and bikes as well as new expendable parts such as tires, etc"
"Came in with broken bike, they were sincere and honest and told me the repairs would be worth more than the bike"
"I’m leaving a review because the employees at Recycle-A-Bicycle are VERY kind and helpful"
"Just love this place! Brought my boyfriends bike in for a security check and small replacement and they are knowledgeable, fast, extremely fair with their prices, and on top of that sweet"
Great at what they do. Professional bike mechanics that do excellent prices and they truly try and meet the needs of the customer. Offering alternatives to make sure you get what you need done not taking advantage of people's situations. Overall great shop and I will definitely taking my bike there if it needs repairs.
A great shop for finding used parts, and bikes as well as new expendable parts such as tires, etc... They are a community based shop that support children in learning to fix and ride bikes. The staff are helpful and fairly knowledgeable. It is not a high-end bike shop so has limited selection of speciality, parts.
Came in with broken bike, they were sincere and honest and told me the repairs would be worth more than the bike. So I donated the old bike and picked up a new one right on the spot for a very reasonable price. They are friendly, hardworking and reliable. I would recommend to anyone interested in bicycles.
I’m leaving a review because the employees at Recycle-A-Bicycle are VERY kind and helpful. Specifically, I want to give a shout out to Cory who went beyond providing bike service and helped change the flat on my car in the rain!!!! Thank you Cory and all the staff members. I recommend Recycle-A-Bicycle.
Just love this place! Brought my boyfriends bike in for a security check and small replacement and they are knowledgeable, fast, extremely fair with their prices, and on top of that sweet. Couldn’t recommend more. Just watch out for store ours before you go as they differ a Little from the usual.
Great experience, professional and cordial staff at Recycle-A-Bicycle center today—they checked chains, brakes, and overall functionality of my bike I requested for a service inspection of my bicycle. They reassured me it's good to go, all without any service charge. That was lovely.
plan ahead! there will be a line outside! that being said . once you get in . the staff is extremely friendly. the person who helped us was Jessie. and let me tell you . he is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond . will definitely be a frequent guest here! THANK YOU GUYS!
The staff is rude and the quality of the repairs is poor. I was so excited to be a part of a community supportive bike shop but this is not it. It is expensive, and if you leave your bike there for more than 2 days they charge you a storage fee. Very unhappy with my experience.
This bike shop was great! I brought my bike in for some squeaky brakes. It was done in just a few hours and they even condensed the charges so the price was beyond reasonable. Everyone I spoke to was so kind and helpful. Definitely coming here for all my bike repair needs!
I can’t speak for the shopping experience, but I just took a workshop with Alex and Ben and they were quite knowledgeable and all around wonderful. Thorough, patient, took the time to answer all of our questions. Will support this shop based on great staff alone.
Had a good experience, friendly and helpful staff. Seemed like they understood I was trying to save a little money. They have a lot of used parts to choose from so if you have an old bike you're fixing up and need one or two parts this is a
This is a really great bike shop. Limited hours are the reason for not a five star review. The staff is super knowledgeable. They have a bunch of second hand parts that are high quality if you are looking to save some money. They always are
I crashed my bike way worse than I realized. Handle bars got snagged coming over the bridge and sent me straight into the wall. I was fine but my front fork was not. Got recommend to come in RAB as they have ‘the biggest selection of parts
This place is the best. Recycle-A-Bicycle has helped me tremendously in finding parts for some of my older bikes. Their prices are reasonable, and they will offer helpful tips. They've answered my questions about installations and repairs.
Just got a great deal on a recycled bike from here. Way better than brand new with all new bearings/gears. It’s lightweight and is a smooth quiet ride! Don’t get a new bike, it will only be stolen. New bikes are for fancy people. The rest
One of the best bike repair shops in NYC. By far the most competent and affordable and accessible. They don't sell new bikes and they're a non-profit so you are not going to get a hard sell for anything. ALSO if you're a DIY tinkerer they
I really recommend this place. I have recycled one of my kids’ old bicycles here. They recently installed a spare part on my cargo bike, on the spot, and for no charge, which was very unexpected. The refurbished recycled bikes are worth a
I had my bike inner tube replaced here because there was some bulge in the back tire that touched my bike frame when I peddled. When they returned my bike to me I noticed later that day that the mechanic didn't even screw my back wheel in
Buying used bikes, great. Buying used parts, also great! Basic repair, great. Complicated repairs and tune ups...not so good. They're very nice but some of the less experienced mechanics miss things, important things. I dropped off a used
Bike tuneup was a little pricey but worth it - they walked through what they'd do to my bike, asked what kinds of issues I'd been having, and then fixed her up like new! I was planning on selling my bike this year but have decided to keep
Took a used bike here for a tune up ($140) and a bunch of things weren’t great (including losing my tires and charging me for a new pair - I did get a refund in the end but that was really frustrating) BUT the thing that is leading me to
Bought a bike and the chain broke halfway home. Had to walk the bike all the way back. Store opening hours say open 9am Sunday including a flyer on the store front. Arrived at 9am on the dot to pick up my bike that was never meant to be
Good prices, friendly staff and quick turn around times. This is the type of shop you walk into, and end up wanting to spend more not because they scammed you into it, but because you enjoyed the experience of working with them so much.
bad management. first person who started to work on my bike delegated the work to a person who wasn't capable of doing the job, a simple 15-20 min gear shifter cord replacement, tube and tire and tightening of breaks had me waiting for
Only bike shop I go to in brooklyn! I've been multiple times for tuneups/ minor fixes and everytime it gets done in no time and for a very reasonable price. One time it was a super quick and easy fix and they didn't even charge me. The
This is a great and very friendly bike shop that did nice work on my bike HOWEVER if you are looking for a bargain on cheap parts it may or may not be the place. I went after getting a rear wheel, seat and seat post stolen. I called to
I’ve brought bikes in for simple tune ups to entire SS conversions and every time I have been greeted warmly and helped thoroughly and given the option for new or new-to-me parts. I added a before-and-after of my trek-conversion-Bike.
Could not recommend this space enough! After spending the day visiting different bike shops in Brooklyn with a lot of helpful bike sellers but with exclusively expensive options, I stumbled on this NYC nonprofit with a commitment to
So disappointed. I took a ride with my 12 year old son and explained to the salesperson we wanted to trade in his bike for another. He said all bikes for sale are in the front of the store…. We looked and selected a bike…. Most were
Very helpful and patient staff directed me to a crate of parts where I eventually found what I needed. An exact replacement vintage Peugeot part was listed at $80 on ebay, I was charged $9 for a very similar item and given clear
I took a fix a flat workshop led by Hank Baker, the General Manager. The class was free, and it was excellent. Hank's knowledge and enthusiasm for bicycle repair and maintenance were contagious. Over the years, I had seen the
Went in with a broken de trailer and Evan fixed it right up. He even had the exact derailer I needed in stock. They were quick and very helpful. The price was also very reasonable. This is now my go to bike shop.
Staff were very friendly. Their service fees and prices for basic items are reasonable! May not be the most high end bike repair shop but great for every day repairs for your commuter bike. Would visit again.
I came in needing a repairs, not realizing they closed a couple hours early for the holiday. I offered to come back, but they insisted on staying and getting it done for me. Top notch people
Nice shop and employees, donated my 18 speed mountain bike. I'm sure someone will be happy, they got my bike. This bike was hardly used, tires and brakes were in very good condition. Robert L.
I bought a bike through Recycle A Bicycle and found them to be incredibly kind, knowledgeable and patient. The prices are fair and they are wonderful. Would highly recommend!
I was just in there for min asking about helmets and it was my first time visiting this store. A woman who doesn’t have the best energy to be working at the front wasn’t
After a few misses, finally got my bike all tuned up ready to go! Manager was very chill and rectified all previous issues. Overall, good experience.
Took my Brompton in to fix a flat back tire. Initial estimate was 15-20 minutes for $30. Pretty reasonable.
The perfect bike store. Found parts for my old Nishiki.
