I met some friends for lunch. I had the edamame to start and it was the best I've ever had. For lunch I ordered the chicken and waffles from the brunch menu. Although it said brunch was available til 2pm the waitress came back and told me that I couldn't order that. So I went with the meatloaf. I was very disappointed that I could have what I wanted but the meatloaf did not disappoint. If you're into libations I'd suggest trying the Mai Nutty Neighbor. My friends had the calamari and meatloaf as well. The calamari was delicious. I will have to try to make it back to try the chicken and waffles. One day. Oh! I got the pecan pie and chocolate cake to take home for my husband and I for after dinner. I took a bite of each before leaving and both tasted very yummy. Can't wait to get ice cream on them! So I'm giving 4 stars because they teased me with a menu that wasn't really available. Sorry I was too hungry by the time the meatloaf came and I didn't even think to snap a pic. Three weeks later, I met another friend and her daughter for lunch. This time I got the edamame (I'm in love with this) and the Chipotle chicken tacos. I didn't expect them to be so spicy. I went through, not one, not two, not three, but FOUR glasses of tea. But they were REALLY good. The two tacos were so filling (they're huge!) that I felt bad about not eating the rice and beans but I just didn't have room in my belly. Luckily the restrooms are by the front door because I wasn't going to make it home without having to give my bladder some relief. And because it's Thursday, of course I got the fried chicken to take home for dinner. Thought about (and should've listened but didn't) getting the pecan pie for dessert with dinner. It's soooo good! As I sit here on my sofa with still full belly I wish I would've gotten the pie! I shall return soon and make it happen!
We were overall disappointed. We heard a lot of good things about this place and it just didn't meet expectations. The service was okay. I think she only came over to us 3 times or so, not including the food delivery because our waitress didn't deliver the food. We were there for an hour without one refill. What really threw us off was the food. The meal started with the spinach artichoke dip. The serving was very small for the price and the artichokes pieces were too large. All the food was relatively bland. I will say, the fries were very crisp and very good. the steak was overcooked so it was chewy. We ordered it medium, because it was a NY strip, and it was done. It also lacked seasoning. the nachos were huge but the ratio of toppings to chips was not good. a smaller amount of chips would have been better. they were also very dry and difficult to eat. My chicken sandwhich had a moldy tomato on it.. I haven't ever had to send back food. But I wanted to this night. Sometimes you just don't like a dish, but for all 4 of us not to enjoy our meals is unusual. I didn't complain, we just paid and left. We wasted money but learned a lesson. It might have been a bad night, we did go pretty late as i just got off a 13 hour shift. They might be delicious for some people, but that wasn't our experience that night.

First off, the food is great! But… 3 out of the 4 times we went we had something negative happen. The first time, our waitress wouldn’t engaged with us, we wanted to ask questions but she would just walk away as soon as she had a chance. She hardly made eye contact and had one worded responses. The second time, was GREAT! The third time, the restaurant wasn’t busy, I asked our waiter about the half priced wine and he said that it was from 3pm to 6pm, SWEET!!! Except… it wasn’t.. after looking at the menu I noticed it’s only on Sundays and it was Saturday. I mentioned this to him and he was shocked and apologized but instead of just making it half off from the check he asked if I still wanted it for full price or if he should just take it. I told him to take it and they dumped it down the drain.. on that same visit they also took 23 minutes to make our ONE ORDER of the powdered donuts. The fourth visit, we made reservations and we were seated at a booth, when our appetizers came, so did our main courses.. What?! Why?! Also, they didn’t have silverware cleaned and we had to wait for that.. same for our napkins… Overall, food is awesome.. but the service isn’t great and I have no idea how they could flop so hard. These are basic things that should be taught and implemented. Edit: Just had lunch here 04/15/22 and was sat at a table with old food still on it and given plates with old food on them as well. Posting pictures.
Well, tonight I finally made it over to the Red Door Woodfired Grill in Liberty. I made my way in and found a seat at the bar and immediately ordered a nice glass of iced barley soup and I then requested a menu. So, as I was sipping on my beer reading the menu there were two items that caught my eye. One was the $20 steak and French Fry entrée and the other one was their woodfired salmon entrée. Tonight, I went with a steak and I have to admit I'm glad I did! I ordered the steak prepared medium rare and added 3 shrimp to the order. And it wasn't long before they came out with a very lovely plate of meat and potatoes! Some might not think of it as comfort food, but I was sure comfortable eating it! The steak was prepared about as well as you can prepare a steak. I ordered it medium rare, and as you can see by the pictures, they did an excellent job on it. In my humble opinion there is almost nothing better to eat then flavorful, tender, melt in your mouth, beef. The shrimp were perfect, tender, juicy and complemented the steak so very well. On the other hand, the fries, were crispy crunchy and tasty as far as a fry can go. I would have much preferred onion rings or a baked potato. I have to make it back now to try the Salmon! Well Done Red Door Woodfired grill! Well Done Indeed!
Our server was great! She was very nice and attentive, but the food was not very good in our opinion. We started with the calamari, the dipping sauces it came with were so spicy or loaded with horseradish they overwhelmed any flavor the calamari could’ve had, had it not already been overwhelmed with the taste of being previously frozen. My wife’s “prime rib” French Dip seriously lacked the flavor expected. We did enjoy the Brussel sprouts but my meatloaf tasted a bit too salty. My wife was pretty excited about trying this place and while it did have a cool atmosphere and great service we would not pay those prices for that low quality of food again. UPDATE: While It’s great that Chris McElroy (owner), does go through and make it appear as if he is reaching out to unhappy patrons by providing his email address, he does not respond to those emails, as I’ve experienced after attempting to contact him twice. . For that reason I’ll be changing my review from two stars to one.
Before I came here I called about bottomless mimosas. They said they have them for 18$ till brunch is over. Keep in mind it’s a Monday. They ask me for my drink order and I say bottomless mimosas. The person who got our drinks wasn’t our server, she said okay and the bottomless only last till brunch is over at 2. No biggie! Then me and my friend for her birthday are 2 mimosas deep and I mention getting something off the brunch menu (that they gave me when I seated ) and she continues to tell me they only serve brunch on weekends and that mimosas are not bottomless. After we have already had a couple rounds of mimosas and I asked if they served them BEFORE I came and ordered them WHILE I sat only to me charged for 8$ per mimosa and no manager came and spoke to us.

This was my first time visiting Red Door. I was in town for business and was looking for somewhere that was not your typical restaurant chain. I got to Red Door a little after 6pm on a Monday. The parking lot was full, even the overflow parking. But I got a spot in the way back. (I would recommend putting some lights back there btw.). I highly recommend making a reservation vs. Walk in. It was really busy. I was by myself so I just ate at the bar. I had the 12oz KC steak and fries (a deal @ $28!). It was excellent! Bar staff was super busy, but they were on top of it and were really friendly! The house chardonnay is only $6/7oz pour! It was a nice oakie type variety. Definitely would go back to try other menu options! Good food, good value!

Busy Sat night but to my surprise, I got the table immediately. The waiter was extremely dedicated and he looked very happy to be at work(of course we topped him extra). Ordered the weekend special - Whisky soaked prime ribs and omg, best prime ribs ever! Charboiled on the outside and the smoky flavor is beyond words. It came with salad so I picked Caesar salad. The salad came with some capers so it’s different than normal salad. I enjoyed it very much. Also ordered the fish and chips and it was alright. It’s been a long day so added a red velvet cake that has vanilla bean ice cream and cream cheese frosting. It’s a huge slice! No kidding. We could only finish half of the dessert.

It's a local chain. Definitely has chain food vibes. Everything was flavorful and they were able to accommodate a shellfish allergy. The only improvement would be their seating and hostesses. It seemed at a quarter till 6 they didn't seat any of us coming in, despite 10+ open tables, and it resulted in about 6 different parties waiting to be seated. All got sat at 6. Which seemed weird and then when I saw their happy hour ended at 6, I wondered if that's why they held out seating all these parties?

Wonderful evening of drinks and dinner! Would've loved to have the special, "prime rib," but wasn't hungry enough! I'll be ready on the next visit after seeing several plates of it all around!!! The restaurant was clean and inviting! The outdoor seating was full, with the fire roaring and food and drinks flowing! The food was good and filling and the staff was personable! Wonderful menu and evening, and we'll return soon!

People park "anywhere and everywhere" they can! It's a bit chaotic!
Appetizers: Queso Con Chorizo - Dip was delicous and had fresh pico de gallo. The Chorizo was in chunks not really in the dip. Chips were mixed between fresh and already made and did have some major salt attack with the couple of random chips in there. Calamari - super girthy, sauces were.very light and the portion fit the price!!! Fresh and crispy. Main dishes: Chicken Tenders - Soooo Fresh!! Sooo crispy! The chicken was not dry you will not be disappointed. The fries were on point. The ranch dip was fire!!!. Meatloaf - super tender with outside crispy edges. The flavor of the meat isnt bad but the gravy tops it off. The brussle sprouts needed to be cooked a little longer cause it was still hard in the middle but flavor was on point.
The food was very mediocre. We had a holiday lunch there and every person at the table felt their food was ok to not that good. I had the prime rib and found it to be tough. It was edible, but disappointing. Not one person out of 8 said their food was good or really good. There wasn't anything worth complaining about or sending back in most cases except my brother didn't like his Salas, so the server brought a replacement and it was just like the 1st one. The service wasn't very good because the server didn't check back with us very often or refill drinks when they were empty even though they didn't appear to be that busy.

Awful. I can understand if this happens once but this has happened multiple times. I even asked, while ordering, to make sure they don't burn the burger (given I've experienced it in the past). Even then, I received a burnt burger (honestly, the picture makes it look better than it really was in person). Not sure how it's okay to even serve this to a customer... [12/23/2022] Red Door reached out to me and made this right. Kudos to them for the follow up and taking the appropriate actions to take care of the customer. I understand that mistakes happen but it's how the business handles the mistake that matters. Given this follow up, I'm going to adjust the review to 5 stars.

Food is always good here. I got the classic burger but would have gotten the ages steak if I could afford it. Fries were battered and crispy. Server would show and ask if anyone needs anything but ran away after one person spoke not giving me a chance to make a request as well.

My husband and I absolutely loved this place. I Ordered Big Gary's Meatloaf. The meatloaf had brown gravy on it. The roasted garlic mashed potatoes were good. The pesto garlic butter roasted veggies were cooked Al dente (green beans, carrots, Brussel sprouts). All food was properly seasoned and cooked. The price was good for the portion served. The service was great from all servers. Our server was Megan and she is one of the reasons we will be back. It's hard to find good service now so it was refreshing. We will be back very soon.

I like the food but service sucks and its getting worse. Today was just a crapshoot of issues. Today I placed a to go order at the bar and ordered a beer, the beer never arrived. I flagged the bartender down and reminded em, STILL never got it! To-go order arrives, waste ~5 minutes trying to get bartenders attention to pay, still cant. Have to walk to the hostess stand to finally be able to pay. Get home, food is lukewarm by this point and also incorrect. Asked for no slaw, got slaw. Asked for a side of ranch, missing as well.

Very disappointed! This neighborhood restaurant used to be my favorite due to their portions. Not any more. When you think of calamari... You think it will be a good size portion....WRONG! $12.99 for 12 strips!! Asked the bartender are they treating calamari like wings and charging you per strip or wing? He looked at me dumbfounded and kept making a drink and didn't respond. The service was horrible by these two bartenders who cared more about talking about their day and wardrobe selection than helping customers.

We got the pretzel bites and the killer calamari they were both spectacular!! The calamari is meaty lightly breaded and the sauces especially the Korean sweet spicy sauce are delicious!! The cheese sauce for the perfect pretzel bites is fantastic. I also got, which is seasonal. Pumpkin spice white Russian with pumpkin puree was glorious!!! I can't wait to go back, we just came in for appetizers this time but everything that came out looked better than the plate before.

Great food. Great service. Interesting ambiance! We started with the Beignets & really should have saved it for dessert - but they were so GOOD, hot, sweet, tasty, with powdered sugar all over! I liked the vanilla dipping sauce and my wife liked the chocolate but they were good any way you ate them. My Bananas Foster Griddle Cakes were rich & yummy. Her Meatloaf Dinner was cooked just right with the perfect mix of mashed potatoes & veggies. Our waitress was very friendly, kept our drinks full, made sure we were served quickly . Overall it was a wonderful meal!

We had a reservation for our party of 20. We were seated immediately. As members of our party joined in, the staff seamlessly accommodated them. Staff was so friendly. They really added to the charm of the place. I so appreciated that they were so kind and patient as members of the party moved about to chat and get pics. The food was top notch. Everything was cooked as we'd requested. Even with our large party the staff kept it all straight. The food was great. I can't say enough about how well we were treated and how great everything was. I 100% recommend this place.

Loved everything about this place. We sat down ordered our drinks and salads, total wait time 5 min, ordered our delicious food total wait time 10 min. If you are doing whole 30 or keto you'll have to adjust your order but they do understand and they will leave out spices and ingredients to accommodate. It's very nice casual place with big screens to watch sports and there is also a bar area. We'll definitely come back to try other dishes. We would like to recognize our server Michelle for being patient and helpful. Thank you Michelle

I’d consider this place an upscale sports bar haha. Staff is nice. Plenty of seating. Good food. Lots of different options. I got the Cajun shrimp pasta . The taste was ahhmazzingg!! Only giving it a 4 stars because they don’t give as much food as other places. Which I understand. Typically I can’t eat my whole portion and I have leftovers. This time I didn’t. Which is fine haha. But just saying, perhaps the portions aren’t as big as other places. But the food tasted wonderful. Super delicious.

Had several people rant over this place and I thought I would try it. I asked for a suggestion and got the fish and chips. It was over cooked and the fries were cold. Server did get me fresh fries so their service was great. Prices were at a high price point, even for lunch. They do NOT offer a veterans discount or first responders which is a shame. I would not go back to this location or any other locations now. There is more value for your money out there.

PROs: Great location. Plenty of parking. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seatings. Decorum is a mix of a fine dine & rustic pub. The service and staff is transparent and friendly. No wait, quick to be seated. CONs: We didn't find anything displeasing. We were finally able to check out this place after the construction dust settled despite us moving out of KC. The atmosphere is beautiful. We were warmly greeted and seated right away. The fried pickles app was delicious. The chicken wings were coated in a dry rub. Okay on taste, but would not order again. The French Dip & Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries were delicious. The Sweet Cheese burger was good, although we were not asked how we wanted the burger to be cooked and they assumed "Well Done" for us it was a bit dry. The Beignets were tasty, but more like a sugar donut bites from Joy Wok than powdered sugar beignet. Our waitress was fast, friendly and kept our drinks filled.
Joined friends on the patio for dinner and drinks on a Tuesday night. I can say the house red is a very decent wine (although admittedly I'm no sommelier) and the fried pickles are excellent! My friend highly recommend the Old Fashioned as well. Would by 5 stars except one of my friends found several bone pieces in her chopped steak sandwich. Will be back to try other dishes and drinks soon!

The Red Door is like an upscale sports bar. It's weird. The food was mediocre at best for the price. Dessert was fabulous Pecan pie and ice cream. KC Strip and fries were unedible according to my husband. The steak was ordered med rare and way over cooked and looked gross. It was tough. The Cobb salad was good and I would order again. However for classy dinner places I would not choose this joint again. It's just a hip, over priced sports bar.

It was great. Service was awesome, food was delish and huge portions. I normally don't eat meatloaf but it sounded too good to pass up. The veggies were perfectly herby and crisp and the garlic mashed potatoes I could have eaten a tub full. The meatloaf had a little touch of sweetness which threw me off at first but then I realized it was probably ketchup or something along those lines that a true old fashioned meatloaf would be covered in.

Do not order out. The food is tasty but they give you half the quantity when ordering out. The attached picture is what I got of my salmon with black rice and vegetable order. It shifted during the car ride but you can see the cheapness with the veggie and black rice quantity. The salmon was good but I barely tasted the one spoonful of rice they gave and one piece of broccoli. $28 with an 18% tip. Not worth it.

Very expensive. My son had a kids cheese burger, and it was pretty burnt and tasted bad. I had little green things floating in my water. For such a limited menu, you’d think that the food would be better executed. The burgers we ordered were so so so oily and honestly not that great. The chicken wings were decent but nothing to rave about. By far the best item we had were the fries. On the plus side, the decor and atmosphere was nice, lots of TVs — I’m sure it would have been fun if the Chiefs were playing.

We had been here before, and it was very good, but this time the food was not good at all. An $18 salad should have been delicious, but the meat was tough and fatty and not worth it. The soup was cold. This was probably our last time here.

Yummy smells greeted us at the door. The gentleman who sat is was super friendly and gave us some tips as first timers. Tarna was an amazing waitress. Made some fantastic recommendations and was hilarious. The prime rib egg rolls are a must. My fiance said his cheesy burger was one of the best he's ever had. My Cajun pasta was delicious. Will definitely be going back.
My favorite thing was the chicken wings. Sauce is the best. But last two times I ordered them the wings were not done. Slightly pink. The dummy’s were large but the double bone pieces were also pink.

Fast seating. Delicious meatloaf with healthy portions. Husband had a hot & cheesy Sweet Cheeses burger with crispy fries. Divine margaritas. Will return and order the same thing!

Met a friend here for dinner and had a great experience! Service was great, and food came out quick! My only complaint/ suggestion would be a larger cocktail menu. Had the lavender lemonade, and it was wonderful!

I read the negative reviews, and my experience was much different. They ARE short on staffing help as is everyone now. But the food is fantastic! I am not a Mac and cheese person, but chorizo added to it and I am hooked! French dip is better than most places I have reviewed. Colin was the bartender/server and was a blast to hang out with!
CREDIT CARD FRAUD- We went to the Red Door yesterday for lunch. Food was good, service was nice. When our server brought the check, it instructed us to scan a 2D barcode to pay. Lunch was $75 with tip. We were also charged $49 by a 3rd party. Our debit card had to be canceled, and it is used to pay bills. What a hassle just for lunch.
Steer clear of their wing, only 4 out of 5 were edible and they are sweet not spice all around yuck. Their burgers are great.

Tonight we had HUNTER who was so awesome. He gave us great recommendations and he kept our drinks full all night. KIA, the busser, was also so kind. He had so much energy and gave us great perspective on menu. We really enjoyed our night because of these two young men.

First visit, breakfast on Sunday. Sat at bar, bartender was busy, but took great care with us. Food was fresh and hot. Many were taking advantage of bottomless mimosas. Will return.

Tried this place night. While the parking isn't great, the food and drinks will make you completely forget about it. Every piece of food was amazing. Highly recommend!

Priced a little high. Went on fried chicken day, was told by the table next to us to not get the fried chicken, cause it was bad and dry. Chicken wing appetizers were good. Burger was still pink and ordered it well. Drinks from bar were very high and not good. Desserts were good. Wait was long
Good dinner, the French fries, Charizo Mac and tenders and beignets were excellent, the French dip and salmon fillet were so so. Pretty expensive and took a long time. Wings appetizer was excellent too.

Food is pretty good. Being American I like cold beer. The beer here never seems to be cold. Otherwise, its a nice place and I'll be back but I probably won't order a beer.

We did have a reservation so we got in fairly quick. Our server was nice and she filled our drinks as needed. She was able to name off a few drinks other than on the menu thst they had which is always good. !
Great service and everything we order was amazing. Best G&T I’ve had in a long time. Salmon Chimichurri salad was A+. I wasn’t expecting much from pretzels bites but whoa! Will definitely be back.
Absolutely fantastic! Yes they have a wait time but so worth it. The nachos pack a punch of flavor. The guacamole is fresh and adds a perfect flavor combination. The steak was tender and juicy.
Great place and the service was absolutely amazing. Fast and attentive while still being friendly! Food was great and I’d highly recommend this place.
