I review not to bring a privately owned store down but because I depend on reviews for my decision making when shopping and feel it’s important to give honest reviews for professional development and for the best customer experience so please bare with my long thorough review. After reading some reviews I’m disgusted to see replies from management/owners showing they refuse to take responsibility for any offending actions and bad reviews instead very defensive rude and in my opinion unprofessional, I really should have guessed this as when I informed them I would review as I always do they basically shrugged their shoulders at me as if to say we don’t care about you or your review. To say peoples bad reviews are fake makes me suspicious and think what about some of the good reviews are they fake also? I’m talking about the reviews with a picture perfect set of advertising photos added to a seemingly great review in particular? I wasn’t rude to staff but I found staff defensive and dismissive when I tried to make a complaint about an item that you can still purchase from stores for $20 and they’re selling for $45, upon mentioning this to the person behind counter upstairs and asking to bring price down to be at least fair he basically said they won’t bring price down any as they sell on behalf of somebody else which is fair enough but he was very defensive of the store policy and seller and dismissive of a potential buyer which gave me the impression that they only value customers who buy their overpriced items. He said they sell lots of them without any complaints and I said I don’t think they would if they knew they were paying more than double what they would pay at stores 15 minutes away but I got shrugged off, so I went downstairs to try find somebody who might be a little more open to receive my complaint and again dismissive, got the same treatment from staff down stairs also, body language almost said just go away we don’t care, they didn’t greet me upon walking in so I should have figured. I personally won’t be going back unfortunately as on the contrary it’s a lovely store with a great selection and although the Pokemon products are extremely overpriced, my children and I have pulled some good hits so I don’t feel they sell dodgy resealed Pokemon items which is always a bonus. I took advantage of their spend $40 and receive $10 store voucher for every purchase over $40, I managed to accumulate $40 worth of these vouchers which is quite generous really, it still doesn’t warrant the high prices in my opinion or make up for the customer service. This review is as honest as I can be, I’m happy to give credit where due but dismissive and defensive customer service paired with overpriced items is unfortunately a big no no for me. I’m not expecting an apology obviously the replies have already given me an idea of how staff respond to a bad review and if anybody makes false accusations about myself and or the communication and actual events that transpired I will make sure I write another review, just be honest in your reply or don’t reply at all that’s all I ask.

This is a beautiful and massive shop, and I loved seeing all of the vintage items, however I was rather disappointed in the tiny, almost non-existent Uranium glass cabinet that had wrong information displayed and jaw-droppingly high prices. I’m so glad I ended up visiting this shop when they were having a 50% off sale for anything over $50, I never would have bought from them otherwise! I bought a set of buttons that were listed at around $150 for about $75, which was definitely a more reasonable price! It’s disappointing when merchants can’t be bothered to do their research and mislabel items just to make a sale. There was a “manganese” glass set listed (which isn’t worth anything at all anyway, it was in almost everything back in the day!) that was actually Cadmium glass. A very quick Google search would have told you this immediately. A very common jug design was listed as nearly $200, when the average price I’ve seen in store and online is $100 cheaper, and a common plate design was listed as nearly $100, when from what I have seen, it’s usually half of that, too. I’m not asking for lowball, non-profitable prices, just fair prices. This is definitely one of the worst antique/vintage/retro shops I’ve been to in that regard. As lovely as the rest of the store was, I probably won’t be coming back here again, unfortunately. I do wish them all the best though; it’s a nice store and their drinks were refreshing. Also, a sign further out the front or closer to the road would great to advise customers of parking. There was sign that faced out from the building, so couldn’t be read while driving, and there was a car parked directly in front of it so still you couldn’t read it anyway. A market sign or something on wheels you can pop at the end of the driveway would be a good idea.

Stumbled into this place by accident and was shocked and impressed. This store has the best range of stock I’ve seen at any retro/pre-owned homeware store ever. So much variety and it’s all very well organised too. All the items and floor stock is well kept & presented, all of the staff members (or maybe volunteers?) I found to be extremely friendly and helpful too. Everything there had such reasonable pricing, which I find refreshing with most other retro stores, which I feel take their sales & markups to the “next level” and in my humble opinion do just “take the piss”. Not this joint however, they seem to provide all round service and value Most important for me to note was that their upstairs vinyl record collection & other various multimedias was great!! Having worked in video store growing up i found the organisation of that all just exceptionally impressive! Big shout out to the guy working upstairs that looked like he’d spent many hours of his life sorting through and indexing / categorising endless amounts of music records and all the others stuff he has there, while still having vey friendly and inviting manner and just such a vast knowledge of all their music inventory and categorising. This man’s level of customer service and knowledge is what ultimately turned an average shopping trip into a great customer experience for me - and, I’m sure, others also.

Regained, Reclaimed and Reimagined. The boys and their team are back in eclectic, eccentric, retro and vintage style. After literally wallowing in mud, this well known collectors treasure trove is stronger than ever restocked with "new to you" objet d'arte, keepsakes, trophies, relics, archives and memorabilia all dusted with layers of nostalgia. Brisbanes finest record store upstairs. You'll need to stop and take a break for a mug of strong coffee, after a good slap of brown liquid potion you'll be able to continue the hunt. It doesn't matter how long you stay or how many times you go, you'll never see enough it's always evolving. After being decimated by the recent floods, Relove is recurrently a strong presence in Brisbane's urban collectors culture.

I went here for record store day. I called up the store 2 days beforehand to ask if they had the record I was after and if they could give me any tips on what time to line up. The guy that answered the phone (I believe his name is Jason) was incredibly nice! He helped me so well and was so kind! I was going to call some more stores after that, but immediately changed my mind and decided to go to this shop just for their kindness alone. On the day everything was organised perfectly. This store has so many things to check out and they have amazing coffee too! Definitely worth a visit.

  • Dennis Xiao

Amazing service! I have to thank Jason especially for going extra mile to make our day on our first visit to Relove! On a Sat after we finished shopping at Relove, we walked to Burnings for some flowers. When we were back the gate at Relove was already close since we didn't realise they closed at 4pm, so we couldn't get to our car. We messaged Relove and Jason came back to open the gate for us! Incredible service! Jason, thank you again for going above and beyond!

Very disappointed with this store the owner he was very rude to me as the item i bought ie: model diecast model car was damaged and he didnt want to know about it.... i couldnt return it for full refund,as i was told it was brand new before i purchased it! Wouldn"t recommend this shop to any of my family or friends. BUYERS BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!!!!! :-( :-(

  • Yodaman Solo

I’m not much of a collector of antiques but once in a while I don’t mind browsing these types of businesses. You never know sometimes you might find something unique that will be worthy of a buy. This store had lots of items to choose from but what I really was impressed with was the upper section that housed lots of vintage vinyl. Very cool.

  • jayden ford

Great coffee! Super friendly staff!! And amazingly entertaining. I find myself coming in every couple weeks and find myself lost in awe with all the great stuff they have for sale. And the vinyl upstairs is incredible!!! Never thought oxley would have its own record store but here it is. 100% worth checking out!

  • Krystal

Love this place! Doesn’t disappoint with the huge amount of awesome discoveries! From records to toys from the 80’s I absolutely love coming in! I always manage to leave with something awesome, like super beautiful crystal bowls. Always a good time! Plus it has great coffee …

  • Greg Noble

An amazing trove of treasures. Good coffe is a bonus. The staff are always friendly and we often spend a good while hunting rare treasures and/or a bargain. The range is always amazing. There is always a great selection of memorabilia, collectibles and vinyl records upstairs.

  • Jerome Prince-Foster

I have to say that Relove Oxley's customer service is brilliant. I placed my order and it was posted as soon as it became available (it was a pre-order). I had to email them and Jason & James were so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend their store. Keep up the good work!

  • SJC

A small store only open til 2pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday. When they do answer the phone, they put you on hold. it's a lot easier for someone to hang up the phone than it is to walk out the store. People on the phone should be number 1 priority in service. Not good enough.

  • Jessica McLeod

Amazing collection of homewares, furnitures and ornaments, and at great prices. Coffee is great according to my partner. Jason and the other staff are so lovely, and were very helpful delivering our lovely new dining table and chairs. One of my favourite places in Brisbane!

  • Alex D

Such an amazing place! It was the best experience and I can't wait to go back. I found so many nostalgic items and things I hadn't thought of since childhood. I think the selection was really good, high quality items and so many different things. Coffee was also good!

  • Nicola Bristed

Delighted to find an establishment of this quality and quirkiness this side of town - an eclectic range of treasure and time travel to wander through - and at reasonable prices - not to mention the best mocha I've had in ages. Will definitely be a regular visitor.

  • PJ Reill

This shop is great and there is something for everyone here. I have purchased a couple of items here now at bargain prices too. My wife and I have enjoyed a coffee here on a Sunday too, its good coffee. Quirky and great. I would recommend a visit here for sure.

  • Gabriel Leslie

  • linda bowden

The coffee is good, the service is not. Even if you are the first customer when they open the shutters, you are not acknowledged while they make coffee for innisible people. Despite advertising they are open from5:30am, thry don't open until 6am.

  • Darren Johnston

We do a lot of Antique shopping and its not often we are so pleasantly surprised by how well a shop is laid out and presented, the stock has definitely been 're loved' ! Professional meets antique meets bargains, with awesome coffee !

  • Meg Rose

I love this store. The welcoming nature of the owners is so wonderful. My partner and I love going in for our coffees and having a look around. I hope this small business is doing ok during covid because they deserve some good luck.

  • Britney Spaulding

I love going to this place, mostly found out about it because of the vinyl but they have a bunch of other random stuff to which is cool to browse. Guys who own it are pretty nice and post funny stories on fb and IG all the time.

  • Makayla M

Once again ignored by staff busy involved In their own conversation. To the owner, why don’t you take care of customers in store. i was stood infront of you and you ignored my requests. Nothing you say here can make up for that.

  • Graham Douglas - Jennings
