There are places that are mere accommodations, and then there are those rare finds that become destinations in themselves; Remote Corner is undeniably the latter. Nestled in the very heart of the pulsating city of Johannesburg, this gem miraculously captures the essence of the countryside in an urban landscape. From the moment you set foot on the property, you’re instantly transported to another world. The bustle of the city fades away, replaced by an enchanting serenity reminiscent of a countryside retreat. The ambiance is not only relaxing, it's rejuvenating – a feeling akin to being in a luxury spa, where every sense is gently pampered. The design of Remote Corner oozes a unique blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The small country house style is both nostalgic and inviting. Every corner, every detail speaks of meticulous care and thoughtfulness, ensuring guests are wrapped in a cocoon of comfort throughout their stay. However, what truly sets Remote Corner apart is the warmth and hospitality of its hosts. Helen and her husband are the heart and soul of this haven. Their kindness, graciousness, and genuine interest in every guest transform a stay from being simply memorable to deeply personal. It’s rare to find hosts who embody the spirit of hospitality so authentically, making you feel not just as a guest, but as a cherished friend. In a world where the hustle and bustle can often drown out the simpler joys of life, Remote Corner is a beautiful reminder of the pleasure of slowing down, savoring the moment, and relishing genuine human connections. It is not just a place to stay, but an experience to be treasured. For me, Remote Corner is unequivocally a 5-star destination. If you're seeking an oasis in the heart of Johannesburg, look no further. This is where the heart finds peace, the soul finds comfort, and the mind finds respite. Highly recommended!

Where to start? The Rose Cottage we stayed in BY FAR exceeded our expectations, in terms of size AND charm AND comfort AND convenience. We were not prepared for the a hands-on, friendly, welcoming and familiar manner with which Helen and Darryl treated us. Emphasis here on being treated....because the breakfast; just wow! Eggs in any style you want them - bacon until you're popping - a fruit salad with muesli/other cereals/yogurt to die for - fresh orange juice - how many characters have I got left? Because I could go on and on! The property is so Westcliff-ish; blooming gardens with little walkways (a highlight for our little one), tight angels make it quaint and cozy. The attention to detail, inside the rooms and out, is just so impressive. The bottom line here is that we looked (fairly last minute) for the most convenient and picturesque Bed and Breakfast in the area...and got so lucky to end up staying in the best Bed and Breakfast (AND WHAT A BREAKFAST!) we have found in Johannesburg. (also, we love their dog, Gaudi!)

kind helpfull people and a bigggg beautifull garden with roses that smell (hard to puchade nowadays) fine rooms.. I came in for 1 night at 20.00 and wanted to spend 2 nights at a wilpark (200km away) starting tomorrow.... I had little hope to manage that in time, when I told that the landlady... she took the phone...and half a hour later it was all organised (including coming back to the airport) while I enjoyed a good glass of SAfrican wine offered by her... biggggg relieve .. so kind and generous .... highly recommanded..

Helen and her husband are incredible hosts - the breakfast on their verandah was a real treat. They are warm, welcoming and love to interact with their guests. The rooms are beautifully done and have absolutely everything you could think of. I highly recommend staying here and taking time to sit in the garden and enjoy their breakfast!

Excellent, quiet, tranquil...no shared spaces and excellent quick response to requests...from plugs to a few groceries. I had my first experience of harvesting...( just pulling out really lol) my own carrot and picking my own tomatos for my breakfast..

Most positive stay. The only not so great thing was the amount of light from a road light pillar during the night. But otherwise a place I would select again. A great welcome feeling.
