What a lovely experience this was! Musa amca (the owner) was such an amazing, generous, kind, and welcoming person. He cooks, serves, takes care of everything else at this tiny, cute, authentic, well-decorated restaurant. He uses homemade ingredients when he prepares his food. It’s worth stopping by Elbasan just to visit his place. And dont forget to get salad which he prepares using grape vinegar. Hopefully we ll come back again one day.

Great authentic food in a ‘museum’ Chef’s parents got this taverna in 1903 and the chef transformed it with many collectibles like radios, telephones, dolls from then till now. More than his great culinary skill and the rustic local liquor, the chef is most inspirational - he made his taverna an attraction drawing international fans in this little town of Elbasan. Come here to enjoy Albanian food with great human spirit

The decoration was really interesting, but we were not allowed to touch anything! I asked for the menu, but they didn’t have any meat as stated on the menu and so he sent us to another restaurant which was amazing by the way. I think I would recommend it only for the decoration but nothing else really. Also the food was more expensive than the menu online.

Elbasan tava is definitely out of this world! So yummy, spinach borek was crunchy outside and soft inside. The owner of the place brought us dessert from the house, he can’t speak English well but he is nice and kind. We paid 38euros for three Elbasan tava and 1 borek. Inside the restaurant, it looks like a museum of antique accessories, so delightful.

This place is great! The owner is friendly and the food is simplistically amazing. I had the okra casserole and it was really good. He also brought out some grapes and a homemade grape juice wine sort of beverage. My only complaint is I was not given change. I already planned I’d give 100lek as a tip, but it would have been nice to give it rather than him assuming. But whatever. Thank you very much

Best food we have had in Albania! Fresh vegetables, the best bread, casseroles that actually taste something, tender meat. Recommend highly the calf and ocra!

If you are in or near Elbasan come here for a meal. Delicious veal served in onion and pepper, fresh bread and local wine. What’s not to like. A quaint place with only seven tables and one guy running it. A place not to be missed.
