☆TRIED ORDERING AND RUNNING A TON OF TESTS WITHOUT INFORMING ME, ONLY REASON I WAS TOLD IS BECAUSE I ASKED BEFORE THEY TOOK MY BLOOD☆ DID NOT HAVE MY CONSENT☆ I made an appointment with Dr. Vasquez (one of the doctors under Dr. Escamilla's family practice) for a checkup and to be screened for diabetes. He came in with bandaged all over his face and during the visit he did not care to be there and made it seem as though I was wasting his time. He told me my blood pressure was high and that he wanted me to come back tomorrow (his day off) to have my lab work done for two tests. He had the staff book me for two more dates and vanished. He did not tell me anything that was going on nor did he answer my questions. I come in first thing the following morning to have blood drawn and notice an obseen amount of vials. I ask the person who is about to draw my blood why there was so many, and she said the doctor had ordered a ton of tests to be done and they needed all the blood to do so. She started reading off some of the tests on the long list, almost none of which had anything to do with what I was there to be screened for. None of the tests she mentioned were ever brought up to me or asked for consent for. Not to mention a couple were tacked on there that I specifically told them they had no consent to test for in the paperwork they had me fill out the day before. When I asked to speak to someone, they said he wont be in til next week and the MA wont be in until "sometime this afternoon" but they would "pass on my message" and then hung up. Take away: ●Doctor doesnt care, doctor does not explain anything ●doctor tries to sneak in a TON of extra tests without so much as an explanation or consent, ●doctor essentially tries and collects a ton of extra charges on tests never brought to your attention. ☆ MAKE SURE YOU DOUBLE CHECK WHAT TESTS YOU ARE PUT DOWN FOR, DO NOT BLINDLY LET THEM DO IT AND HAVE TO PAY AFTERWARDS☆ ☆NEVER MET DR. ESCAMILLA, THIS IS ABOUT ONE OF THE DOCTORS UNDER HIS PRACTICE☆
I am very disappointed with this office now and for the past year or so. If I could give a minus review I would. Serious thinking on going to another provider. I receive family medical care at this office. I was told in March 2022, I would be prescribed a certain medication for the next couple of months and the meds wouldnt be stopped till I'm 67 and I'm 65! I was called today and told by Dr E's office staff that he changed his mind and won't be calling it in? The medication I take cannot be stopped abruptly, I don't get it? I had issues with an MA/nurse or giving Medical advice or suggestions about my conditions and it's being allowed by Dr E. This particular person told me if I can't wait for medications from Dr E to go to Er or urgent clinic, really, and told go see a specialist. Well if you or the office wants to pay for specialist, then by all means pay for me to go. And I have complained and even though I complained, I'm fewed as wanting medications for nothing??? Really, I've been a patient of this office since before 2014 when Dr Garza was in practice, n I was never treated like this when she was there. I had an anxiety disorder given to me by a PA when she was trying to change my High blood pressure and I objected even though I came in for the Flu! She stated I physically attacked her, when DR. E came in, I explained to him what happened and yet I'm not believed?? I would never attack someone, but I sure will tell you no! I told her, I don't need my medications changed just cuz you are trying a new medication??? I've asked for this DX to be removed and no such luck! It's been horrible these last several months trying to get my medications I need on a daily basis. I am very upset, going to contact the Medical Board to report this office n the especially the person/nurse who regards herself as a doctor!
If I could give a ZERO I could! I contacted Dr Escamilla's office 3 weeks ago on the online appt system for a new patient appt (It was set for this Monday). My appointment was verified last week. I am contacted this morning by a RUDE young lady to reschedule my appt so they may give it to an "established" patient. I was told "sorry" it will be October now (an additional 2-3 weeks) to get a "new" patient appt. Hope Baptist can survive on their "established" patients as you will not be getting new ones this way!!!! ANGRY is an understatement!
Dr. Escamilla take the time to listen and explain things well and offer options when they are available. I would recommend Dr. Escamilla to anyone looking for a good carrying doctor. In general there is always room to improve timeliness of appointments and to provide a bit more time for each visit, I don't blame the doctor for that, unfortunately that is a fault of the health care system as a whole.
My husband has being seeing dr. Escamilla for 2 years and we never had a problem with him or his staff in front. But ever since these new staff were hired its just been a headache.we call and im on hold for 15 to 20 minutes which is ridiculous. They claim there busy. BS..cause when we are in the office all they do is goof off. So besides dr. Escamilla being awesome cant say the same for his staff.
I'm very pleased with Dr. Escamilla. It's hard to find a Family Practitioner nowadays, even harder to find a good one. He is thorough and answers any questions about Rx's and lab results. He seems concerned about my health. They have someone at the office to draw blood, saving me a trip. I'm able to access my vitals and lab results online very soon after each visit.
My husband has been a patient about 7months now and both Dr Escamilla and PA Salima have seen him office staff has been very quick to respond to any concerns we have . I have become a patient as well. The staff has always been helpful and Friendly, and the providers have been on their game running on time and efficient! Which is a BIG Deal with my husband.
Dr Escamilla is a very good Dr. He listens to his patients has compassion and very thorough. I have not seen a better Dr. His staff is just the same very caring and efficient. His P.A. Panjwani is very good also. Love the compassion and efficiency of this whole group.
I have being with Dr. Escamilla for a couple of year. Not sure what happened, but his office support staff have gotten very unprofessional to handle the patients. Hope the BHS does a review. I have not being able to make an appointment.
Never seen the Doctor, when I did get a call he was very rude! Always rushed your vist, when I see the PA. Trying to get an appt. and nothing available!
