"Love love love Rice coffeehouse! Prices are cheaper than any other coffeeshop I've been to! Definitely tailored for a student experience, as the drink selection can be quite sweet, but there's something for everyone and it's a great study and socialization space"

"Cheap and very delicious coffee!! Student owned service so definitely visit them for support and get two cups of amazing coffee under $10"
"Tried mangoo-peach and pomegranate smoothies here, and both were reasonably good! Their plain lemonade is great for the hot weather! And the vibe of being around Undergrads is always refreshing:D

Definitely tailored for a student experience, as the drink selection can be quite sweet, but there's something for everyone and it's a great study and socialization space. I love to come do work here or catch up with friends. It can get busy at times but that's expected of any coffeeshop on a college campus. The baristas (or Keepers of Coffee as they call it) are always so sweet too!

this place is dope.....a campus watering hole, if you will. great for people with all kinds of preferences. the food is pretty nice, too (might i recommend the peach danish?). the music here can be a wide variety, everything from lil boosie to spoken word to hamilton: the musical. i have a cousin who lives in another part of texas, and i wanted to wish her a happy birthday on time each year but i had to write her birthday down because my memory sucks, but what doesn't suck is rice coffeehouse: five outta five stars.
Cheap and very delicious coffee!! Student owned service so definitely visit them for support and get two cups of amazing coffee under $10. Highly recommend their Cup of Ambition if you like chocolate!! Place is usually very crowded so be prepared to wait a little (sometimes a lot) to get seating.

Coffeehouse is surprisingly good considering it is run entirely by college students. It is also way cheaper than most coffeeshops, while maintaining quality drinks with occasional specials. The cortado was pretty strong, and, as with a lot of the coffee here, had a very dark taste. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting campus looking for something to perk them up.
Excellent student run place. Always busy and the coffee is amazing. The one with the taste of pecan is my favorite pricewise is very affordable. If you bring your own mug you get your coffee for $1 which is a great deal if we consider the quality of it! I'm new in Houston but this place is already one of my favorite! …
The best coffee ever. I had a double shot latte and also bought a Nutty B. Perfect on a day like today. The line was about 10 long, but it moved very quickly, the coffee was ready without much wait time. Parked on the street outside the RMC and took less than 15 mins door to door at peak time, just before 9a
Cheap, tastes fine, BUT SLOW AS HELL. If you are planning to order something other than black coffee, just say goodbye to your precious "at least" 20 minutes. The last time, it was not that crowded, ordered chai and cappuccino, took 20 minutes for them to prepare it. If you are in hurry, do not bother.
*ALL-TIME FAV* Visiting Rice? Come here for the best publicly-accessible peephole into Rice undergraduate life. Super relaxed indoor space, stunning outdoor space, $1.75 cold brew. What more could you possibly ask for? It can get really crowded at random times, like 3:50 PM on a Tuesday.
The drip coffee during off-hours can be so foul so get an espresso-based beverage. Best thing about chaus as an alum is the serene space to sit outdoors right outside the building. And no upcharge for non-animal milks

Really friendly staff made up of students. I got a Macha Freeze with Half and Half and it was amazing! The atmosphere is really welcoming and buzzing with the keyboards of promising students! Will come back for sure!

1. Pros: A. Delicious coffee B. Reasonable price C. Abundant outlets inside & outside D. Fast free WiFi inside & outside E. Not very cold F. Parking in Greenbriar Lot which costs $2/day. 2. Cons: may because the cafe belongs to the students here, noise is all around.
Cheapest and best coffee drinks ever!! The staff are so nice and cool. If you bring your own mug you get a discount. I have spent like so much time/money here. All worth it. The special drinks are very good and so are their Italian sodas.
Cheapest cold brew near me! They've got real cold brew too (brewed cold), not just fake iced coffee "cold brew (Hot brewed poured over ice). Plus the barista was super friendly to me. Will definitely go back!
Beautiful setting. The building and gardens around it are unreal. The coffee is Salento coffee. Drinkable, nothing more. It is the best in the neighbourhood though. Rice is surprisingly poor in coffee houses.
Located in the Rice student center, this is a real hidden gem. The student staff is nice, the coffee was great and (for white noise lovers) the ambiance facilitates some healthy productivity. Open late too!
Unheard of prices and excellent drip coffee. Baked goods worth it also.

It's a cute little coffee place. Almost always busy. But you can skip most of it with the $1 life hack. Highly recommend if sleep deprived grad student, as well as a human being.
The drinks are low cost and high quality, the students working behind the counter are great to talk to, and the atmosphere is always fun. Rice wouldn’t be the same without chaus.
Wonderful if hidden gem at Rice campus. Even the drip coffee is remarkable, and the price will surprise for the superior quality. Definitely a must when you visit this school.
Close to home. I love coming here when I’m feeling down, such a cozy place. I used to be at Rice ESL, this place became a favorite immediately. Central Perk vibes :)
very good latte, made with a smile by hardworking students. highly recommended

One of the best places to get coffee and other drinks. Period. Finding space can be tight but KOCs are always friendly and the drinks are made with care.

Great coffee, great prices, and great service. Perfect place to study. They even have lap boards for your laptop when sitting in the comfy chairs.
Esta calificacion de 4.7 no es correcta. Yo visite este lugar y los panes no son frescos. Muy decepcionada de la reposteria al igual que del cafe.
I don't undestand why is so highly rated , we've been served with two hard like stone buns and a clear unflavored coffee. Not recommended anyway

Friendliest baristas in town, lively atmosphere, great drip and lattes, fair prices, tons of seating. Definitely worth the long lines.
One of a most active place in the campus. Students are taking care of this coffeehouse. I will highly reccomend this place to visit.
Very nice. Silly hats. Long lines and kind of hard to find a spot sometimes. Overall good quality for a school coffee house.
Love this place and their coffee(I’ve been coming here for 3 years), but I feel like it can get a bit hot. Needs some AC.
The price is, in my opinion, not cheap. However, since I could not find better place nearby, I often come to this place.
The coffee shop is inside of a beautiful Farnsworth pavilion. It is a relaxing destination for those who are in town.
I liked the almond butter croissant a lot 8/10 and the strawberry smoothie was a 7/10

A coffee joint in Rice University. Very nice atmosphere, a scenic walk and nice small bites.
Beautiful design. Great place to come out and work inside/outside or just meetup a friend.
most delicious and delectable products of all time. would spend all my tetra again.
Really good coffee at an even better price, have several alternative milks as well.
Great prices and a fun spot. Love stopping here when I find myself on Rice Campus.
Student run coffee house with prices better than most other coffee houses in town.
I don't like coffee. It's too loud. It's always crowded. The hours are awful.
The service is excellent, prices are low, and the atmosphere is fantastic.
Great place. Friendly students making drinks. A nice atmosphere as well
Very good place inside Rice University, a little bit expensive
Very nice space to study and the special drinks are delicious
