Appearances can be deceiving... If you are going to stay here, pay in cash, be prepared for bad odours and having your privacy invaded by the proprietor. There is some grass and shade, the amenities look clean and some of the cabins are fairly new. However: - there is a distinct fish odour in the female amenities and the stench of the septic tank on a westerly wind; - the older cabins have fly screens with holes in them; - the cabin kitchens are poorly equipped (watered down dish-washing liquid, one garbage bag and no replacement, regardless of how long you are staying); - don't bother trying to book. We were an extended family group all booked by one person, who asked for but did not receive written confirmation, and when we arrived, found our booking had not been accurately recorded. There was an attempt to rectify this from the proprietor but never any apology, as if we were somehow at fault; - when we were packing our car to leave, the proprietor entered the cabin before we had checked out without asking, invading our privacy; - we discovered later that day that an additional transaction had been taken out of the credit card used to pay in full when we arrived. There was no communication, no authority to keep the credit card details as security and no reason for us to be charged any additional amount as we had not violated any of the terms and conditions.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! We rang up to book into this campsite and were told that, although we were arriving late (around 7:30pm), we would be fine to simply drive ourselves into the campsite without meeting anybody and sort ourselves out, which we were fine with. We encountered a bit of trouble with our van along the way and had to check the engine which held us up a bit so didn't end up arriving until 8:30pm, although we presumed this was fine as we weren't supposed to meet anybody at the site and we were simply going to pay in the morning. Upon arriving, we were met with an extremely aggressive and rude man, who informed us that everyone was asleep at this time and that if he heard us make any noise whatsoever (including shutting the car door), he was really 'hard' and would sort us out!!! I must stress that during this time we were extremely pleasant towards him even when he was making his condescending, obnoxious comments towards us. We finally decided that we weren't welcome and that it would be better to leave and try and find somewhere even though it was so late, at which point we were promptly told to get off his land. I honestly have no idea how this business continues to exist if this is how new customers are treated.
1 star is far too generous for this place. With no signage to tell you that you must check in on arrival, even if you're a visitor, as I was, and nothing on their website, led to a confrontation from the owner. He was extremely rude and hostile and refused to engage me in a civilised conversation in which I was trying to explain that I hadn't decided if I was staying (I hadn't even unpacked my vehicle) and that if I was, of course I would pay. Instead, him and I assume his wife, continued to rant and rave at the top of their lungs for the entire property to hear, insisting I leave at once. Unfortunately our friends are forced to stay after paying a ridiculous amount for the next few nights. Save your money and your insanity and stay somewhere else.
Services booked months in advance were not provided. Staff are unable to produce any record of detailed booking made for a large party. Owners are rude and aggressive - intruding into campsite of one of our party after 8pm to engage in argument about details of booking. Owners were unapologetic about switching accommodation booked to inferior versions. Proprieter was observed entering a cabin booked by another member of our party before 8am on another day without consultation or explanation. Unauthorised charge against credit card was made after we had left, without communication. No permission was provided to retain card details and required fraud investigation by bank. A remarkable degree of hostility, incompetence and dishonesty.
Come on Rev Heads, very young and all ages this display shows where our wheel mobility is/was created. Having had a 66 Galaxy with a 428 cleveland motor, I was in my glory with all displays. Thank you for the very dirty/dusty vehicle state, how most undiscovered old vehicles are found today. If you have a dream chase it with restoration not distruction.

TERRIBLE Campsite - We paid for 2 nights ($35 per night for the powered site). On the first day , we were cleaning our van so we moved a lot of stuff outside on the grass. My partner was fixing our spice rack with a screw driver outside of our van. Soon after, the site manager came angrily saying “This is not a build site! You can’t do this here. I tell you now. No mess here. Do you want to leave or not?” We were very polite the whole time. Not sure what’s wrong with the manager. Wouldn’t recommend this campsite to anyone. There are plenty of other cheap campsites in TAS with nicer people running.
We booked in for one night stayed 4. Staff really friendly and helpful. Amenities very clean and modern. This place is most definately looked after. The owners have something very rare to find these days........ care factor☺☺☺☺☺ I was shocked with the 6mins shower especially when had to wash my long hair. However I will not hold that against as this awesome place has so many pros outweighing the one possible con. Congratulations and keep up the good work.
Kitchen is unloved and has no cooking plate. Why is it not enclosed? It can get very cold in Tassie. The showers are timed for 6 min and then you have to wait for 5 before you can reset. If it is busy and people are waiting, you cannot use the shower immediately after the previous person has left. WT#? How petty is that? The playground is a disgrace reminding me of a post accident Chernobyl town. The climbing ropes are frayed and will break anytime. The owner is quite unfriendly and does not care the slightest.
Parked at the office 8pm, awaiting a txt from a friend so I could visit them. Car pulls up behind me then comes to my window, asked what I was doing, I said, " hello, am I in your way? I'm visiting a friend. he angrily said "theres no one here of that name, you know that gate you just came through, that's where you are f'ing going, straight back out there, NOW F OFF!! I was totally polite, Omg made me feel very uncomfortable. the owner here is a COMPLETE & TOTAL PIG!! *WOULD NOT RECOMEND!!
Poor customer service. Left our family of 5 with no accommodation after dark at the end of the Three Capes Trek, as we had no reception to return the caravan’s parks call to confirm our booking during the day. Owner of the park hung up on us when we politely asked whether it was possible to still keep our booking or if we needed to find other accommodation for the night. Would not recommend, left stranded in Tassie after a long exhausting 4 days of hiking ☹️
Recently been taken over by new staff. They were really friendly and welcoming when we arrived. We camped out - the price was good and they were very accommodating for us. For example, they kept the swimming pool open later so that we were able to have a swim before bed. The smaller things can make a big difference on a trip - and the three of us who stayed were very impressed with the hospitality we received. Highly recommend.
Very neat park. The staff are very friendly and helpful price is reasonable. The owner gives you local tips of where to go and what to see. Sites are level and clean. It’s only a short walk to Richmond village. I strongly recommend this park if you’re touring Tasmania and want a base to see Hobart and the surrounding towns. Thanks heaps for your hospitality.

Fantastic spot to stop over for the night! Open arrival the manager was friendly and happily explained the sight and what to do in Richmond. The sites are well priced as we stayed in a powered site for $32. The showers cost $1 coins to run but really that is here nor there personally. So if you are stopping in Richmond I do recommended this park as the facility are clean and the sites are cheap!
An expensive caravan park with sample sites for every budget including cabins. Nestled in wine country, this caravan park is ideal home port for day trips to the local, family ran wineries of the south. Wonderful rural views that change with the weather, clean bathrooms - no cost showers (yay!), many bbq shelters, and a games room with a pool this caravan park is a great home away from home.
Good facilities and a nice pool area however during our stay my children were constantly harassed by residents of the park and one of them even came over to tell us he would take the bikes off them if he sees them riding them again. Yet at every other park we have stayed at its never been a problem. Here we felt like we were treading on eggshells. Nice park but not kid friendly
NOT "pet friendly" as they advertise! Would not book us in because we have a German Shepherd, who is a beautiful, well behaved good girl. Total breed ignorance, as I know chihuahuas and other barking rats that are far more vicious than a trained Shepherd. If you are travelling with a large breed dog, go to Big4 as they aren't as "doggist". Disappointed to say the least.
Very central for touring. We based ourselves here and went to Hobart and Port Arthur. Was 39 degrees so the kids loved the indoor pool and made good use of it. We stayed on a powered camp site along the fence near the pool which was nice as there are some trees in this area. I would definitely stay here again. Richmond town is very close and has plenty to look at too.
The owners are extremely rude and unhelpful. We were there asking for water and they said not, obviously, we suggest to pay for it. In response, the owner took us walking in front to the water tank just to tell us “can you see the tank? Not for you”. I did not see the need for the walk and the stupid comment. A simple no would have been enough.
The amenities block was spotless, the van sir was level and in a quiet spot at the back of the park. The hosts were lovely and were very accommodating when I had a family emergency and needed a late checkout. They were wonderful! I would highly recommend this park.

Lovely natural camping and caravan park with a surprisingly large indoor swimming pool! Basic but clean and very quiet and surprisingly dark at night, no problem seeing the stars! Our site D was HUGE! Genuine people run the place who know caravanning, and free WiFi! Bit of a walk to town, but it gives you an appetite!!
Large area with lots of space. Facilities for everyone, young and young at heart. Swimming Pool and games room. Showers and toilets. Tennis court if you fancy a hit. Run by two lovely people, good old fashion service with free WiFi. Only 1km from the town of Richmond so if you wished you could walk back from the pub.
Manager/owner lady is the rudest PO@ I've had the displeasure of speaking with in all of Tasmania. Wouldn't answer phone, judged us on our dirty car van combo, we'd just been at Bruny island and on dirt roads in winter. Found a camp just up the road, and spent our cash in other local businesses avoid at all costs.
Good caravan park. Great kitchen facilities with sink, large prep area, microwave and multiple free bbq's locations. Playground and games room for kids, games room has TV, table tennis, pool and a large indoor are to sit in. Park also had an indoor pool but it was closed during our visit.
We had a great time camping here. Massive sites and great amenities. Easy to get around in town and not far from Hobart. To pool was great and the games room was one of the better ones that we saw in Tasmania. A playground for the kids but it was in need of an upgrade.
It's such a central location with beautiful views and lovely people. I decided to stay longer than my original planned 8 days. Been 3 weeks now and looks like I'll be staying for the summer :)

Really nice people that helped me print my boarding passes at no cost. I'm just disappointed that the hot water for the shower needed a one dollar coin, and I realized it only when I was under the cold water. The hot water should be included in the camping fees.
Poor kitchen facilities, shower only allows 5 minutes of hot water, which is very big problem for girls in the winter. The owner loudly nock on our campervan in the morning just to tell us that they are going to clean the bathroom, which is very disturbing.
Fiancé and I were touring tassie for a few weeks and were glad that Richmond Caravan park had a cabin available to save us from tenting as the weather set in. Service and amenities were fantastic and great value for money. Will definitely be back!
Cute little park just outside the gorgeous town of Richmond which has everything you would need. Very clean and well maintained cabins, lovely gardens, and spaces for the kids to play, as well as genuinely nice owners. Highly recommended!
Fantastic little cabin for our last minute decision to stay the night in Richmond after a long day with our kids. The owners were amazing, so helpful and friendly. Our boys loved the play area and wanted to stay longer. Will visit again!
Having spent 4 odd years travelling Australia, it was so nice to find a fantastic little Caravan Park to stay in , it was so friendly and the whole park was a credit to the owners, who made us feel so welcome.Glennis and Kerry Lovatt.
Fairly standard campground. Clean facilities, close enough to town for drinks and eats. Seems like quite a few permanent residents there.

Top spot, came for 2 weeks, stayed for 10, ideal place to base oneself to visit most of the southeast of Tassie. Fabulous hosts, friendly residents tidy gardens and clean amenities. Would highly recommend a stay at this park!
Took us in on short notice, very very nice cosy warm cabins, beaut shower and facilities realy nicely looked after very quiet and peaceful we will be back for sure, great customer service and friendly atmosphere thanks guys
Very friendly owners and staff. My wife and I have stayed here a number of times, The owners have been the most gracious host. The park is very clean and well presented. Would recommend.

Overpriced $25 for an unpowered site, which also incurs additional $ for the use of showers. Not to mention the customer service which is appalling, the manger is a grumpy old man. I wouldn't recommend this caravan park.
Looked nice at first site then found it had timer on the hot water in the showers both of the owners seem to be grumpy kids told to get out of the pool just step out of the area for a minute wouldn't recomd staying there
Fantastic caravan park. 20 dollars a night for one person unpowered. Log fire in TV room. My hosts very nice people said if gets to cold.i can sleep in the TV room. Great facilities soon best since I been in Tasmania
We got to set up our motorhome in a grassy quiet location out the back away from most of the other caravans. It was incredible! So much space for our little one to run around, great facilities and a wonderful spot.
The camp kitchen were disgusting could do with a good clean and the lady at reception was actually very rude I would not recommend this park and if I was the big 4 group I would be ashamed to put my name to it
Dog Friendly. Nice caravan park the gentleman who served me was polite and friendly. Sites and communal areas were clean. Has an indoor swimming pool, tennis court and a camp kitchen as well as a playground.
We loved our stay. The hosts we accomadating and friendly. They kindly allowed us to store our motorhome while we explored the area. Great place, very clean and tidy. We would highly recommend this van park
Nice place with what looks like a great indoor pool and games room... pity it’s locked at 6pm! Useless for an overnight stay. After a long day travelling in the camper my kids were very disappointed.
Lovely park, only stayed the one night but will return. Friendly owners, clean amenities and had a swim in the beautiful pool. Would recommend highly.

loved this place. the rustic cabin we stayed in was awesome. the manager was wonderful and the coffee shop at the front was magnificent. beautiful view, beautiful food and beautiful staff.
Can't fault this park. Clean well kept and very nice owners. Has a lovely indoor pool and families share a large lawn separate from park residents and those who like their serenity …
I visited about a year ago and found the place pleasant, clean and peacful. The service was good, and my kids also enjoyed the place with a play area, BBQ facility and a warm pool.
An excellent place to stay if you are planning on staying in this part of Tassie. Close to Hobart and not far from Port Arthur and many other sights in part off the world.
We had a small cabin, adequate for our needs and nestled amongst other cabins, minutes from Richmond. Convenient facilities and laundry, but bring your own drinking water.
It was a lovely place to stay, close to everywhere we wanted to go. But the owner was really rude to my parents on multiple occasions, which dampened our experience here.
Beaut stay here 9 nights Great location for Hobart and surrounding vineyard's etc Friendly Host's keep this park in tip top shape and are very welcoming Highly recommend
Very comfortable, peaceful, lovely surroundings, Richmond to explore. Very good for children with playground, space, indoor pool & games room under parental supervision.
We had a pleasant 1 night stay. The amenities were clean and modern. Check-in was a breeze. There was plenty of room to enter and exit our site. We will stay again
Great place, good site's, drive through, very clean amenities. Friendly, helpful management & staff. Richmond is a fantastic village, ended up staying 2 weeks.
this place is only for the wealthy posh upper class Caravans and motorhomes. Turnup in a caravan at this place and you get Judged by your caravan/motorhome
Ted is a great host. The bathrooms and laundry are very clean. They have various kinds of accommodation. Best place to stay in a caravan or RV in Hobart.
Great spot near a historical town. Owners were great. Kids loved it. Had a spot to ourselves so wasn't crammed into the main area. Will visit again soon.
Small caravan and tent park next to river. Clean amenities Hot showers 40 cents wahing machine $4. Easy walk into village .friendly staff. Dog friendly.
Location is brilliant. Richmond in a lovely village and its only a short walk from the park. Amenities are old but well maintained and very clean. More
Great location for touring around Hobart. Positive and helpful staff. Clean facilities. Stayed long than intended due to flexibility of location.
Well kept grounds, clean amenities block. The owners are extremely friendly & helpful. Reasonable rates. Cant recommend this place more highly
We were only here briefly, but it was clean & tidy with good amenities. No kiosk & it was a 5 minutes drive back into Richmond for supplies.
The Park is professionally managed and a credit to them. Pristine amenities. The management team could not be more helpful. Well done! More
Very Average and costly compared to big4 caravan parks. Amenities old. Pool unheated. Barbecue areas old. Look elsewhere
Awesome spot. Very clean facilities. Kids had a amazing time. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be coming here often
Best place to stay at richmond. Friendly helpful owners. They have a games room and indoor pool which the kids loved
A good place to stay as it has lots of facilities which is helpful for those of us who do not own a caravan or RV.
Lovely place to stay - hosts are friendly and efficient. Grass area is nice amongst the trees. Costs are good.
Great park with clean amenities and nice views. A bit more expensive than other parks.
