I have been attending therapy at Richmond Physio now for about three and an half years. I have used Richmond Physio as may main source of rehabilitation as I have recovered from several lower spinal surgeries (micro-discectomies) for two prolapsed discs. The clinic itself is extremely well managed by Caroline Obergan. Appointments are made efficiently and with ease and with the newly implemented digital system, you now even receive a reminder email regarding your appointment. Caroline and her staff are always incredibly welcoming and very happy to hep you make any changes you need or answer any questions that arise. All the equipment is quite up to date and the work areas are kept clean and tidy. In my time there, I have worked with a few therapists (due to vacations, scheduling, repatriation, etc.) and I can say that everyone I have met is not only well trained and experienced but also thoroughly dedicated to patient care. Over the last two and an half years I have mainly worked with Bridget Burleigh for physiotherapy and Edel Casey for massage therapy. As I have travelled my long road, Bridget has been the calm, knowledgeable and caring force that has steadfastly guided me to recovery. First and foremost, Bridget’s technical skill is highly impressive and difficult to match. It is reflective not only of her formal training but also of her depth of experience and her genuine passion for the industry. This, combined with her unwavering determination to improve your condition and quality of life and her natural affinity for patient care, produces an excellent quality of service and one that I value a great deal. She has always placed my well-being as the sole priority and has honestly guided me with the tempo of my rehab (when to reflect and slow things down a bit to allow healing and when to push forward hard). I feel very confident in her care. Edel is the best massage therapist that I have ever encountered (and after 10 years of work, I have met many). Edel has a natural ability that to find the necessary pressure and trigger points that are causing your pain and challenging your recovery. I think that also what makes her unique is her desire to continue her Master-level education in the industry. This knowledge is continuously brought into her sessions and shared with her clients. She also happens to be a delightful person.
I contacted Pippa at Richmond Physiotherapy early January 2017 after my 11year old son snapped his ACL whilst skiing. She came highly recommended from friends. We were advised that he was an ideal candidate for a reasonably new procedure by Professor Adrien Wilson to repair his ACL. Pippa helped Charlie to prepare for the operation by building up his strength and mobility, keeping him engaged and motivated. She corresponded with the surgeon regularly and even watched the surgeon operate this relatively new procedure to reconnect the ligament. The support she offered throughout his recuperation was first class. My son visited Pippa regularly for six months as she devised exercises and games to rebuild his strength, balance and mobility whilst keeping him motivated. She contacted the head of games at school to keep them updated and get them onboard with his rehabilitation. The emotional support and encouragement as well as the physical therapy have been centre to the success of his operation and rehabilitation. My sons leg is now strong and stable and he is enjoying playing competitive sports again especially rugby. Thanks to Pippa’s guidance and support he no longer thinks about his knee. In fact the whole family has benefited from the advice from the Richmond Physiotherapists on and off the sports field and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the practice.
Since discovering Edel and Richmond Physio back in 2007 I have never looked back when needing assessments, sports massage or advice. Being a long course triathlete at a high level of competition I have to say that Edel is a perfect match in dealing with whatever I throw at her after the intermittent periods of smashing my body from all angles. The only time I do look back is if I am away and searching for a massage 'like Edel'. She seems to have this uncanny ability of finding the triggers and not only eradicates them but provides advice and a way forward to make both our lives a little easier! I would 100% recommend anyone of any level to go see Edel or Richmond Physio for a good solid and educated sports massage. They love what they do and the passion shines through with the treatment that is provided.
A retired physio friend of mine recommended this practice, and even though it is not particularly near where I live, it is definitely worth the trip. Both Pippa and Emma are delightful, no nonsense, and really know their stuff. Each has solved at least one injury and made a significant and ongoing difference to my life! (By the way, no one has asked me to write this review, I just wanted to give Richmond Physio a jolly big thumbs up so people with injuries get the help they need).
Had a couple of issues for the first time in my life and researched/visited a few local places in the area. Tried Richmond Physiotherapy and was glad I did. They are honest and have a lot of expertise. I've been seen by Emma and Joe so far and both were great. They have a no-nonsense approach and aim to help fix the issue so you can get back to living life.
Being a very active family, we tend to hurt ourselves often. But we can always rely on the team of Richmond Physio to get us back into shape..... broken knees, MCL, broken shoulders, tendinitis, back pain, sciatica, you name it... special mention to Pippa who manages to fix me in spite of all odds against it! :-) Love the team. Thank you.
My doctor recommended Richmond Physiotherapy for my lower spine problems so I knew I would be in safe hands. After about 6 weeks and seeing them once a week I was beginning to regain easier movement. With ongoing occasional treatments and advice I remain pain free and much stronger. They are professional and reassuring and kind.
Such a great place! Very reliable and there even when if it’s last minute. I cannot recommend Edel enough. She’s a lovely and most professional physiotherapist I’ve met in my last 12 years. I was told about the treatment plan from day 1 and it was very helpful. Please don’t think twice and just give them a go.
I'd been having pain in my left knee for some time and it was becoming a problem to walk any distance. Joe made an assessment, and recommended a set of exercises which he reviewed and updated every two weeks. After a couple of months, the problem was completely resolved. Highly recommended
I would highly recommend Joe Coakley. After a serious hip injury he worked with me for over a year, always patient and encouraging, making sure that I had the correct exercises to rebuild my strength and stamina. I'm very grateful for his help and guidance towards my recovery.
Pippa is an exceptional physiotherapist. She is kind and personable and makes you feel at ease. She is highly skilled and professional at all times and the enthusiasm she radiates for her work is incredibly motivating. I have no hesitation in recommending Pippa
After surgery, my knee wasn't healing as well as expected and I was experiencing pain and irritation. Richmond Physiotherapy came highly recommended for their knowledge, experience and results. My physio Joe did an amazing job with my knee recovery.
As a client for several years, for various issues, I can highly recommend Richmond Physiotherapy for their treatment, advice and consideration. The dedicated team provide a very professional and personable service.
Very good practice with experienced physiotherapists. I highly recommend Joe Coakley.
Staff are friendly but the physio was poor, they only gave me a list of exercises.
I cannot recommend Richmond Physiotherapy too highly.
Outstanding Physio services!!
