For someone that does not prioritize booking in advance, I had minor challenges so I'd first advice booking in advance. When I talk about booking, I mean booking for shelter if you are planning on going on a sunny day. There are lapa's available but only accessible at a fee of R650* (stand to be corrected). Everything is paid for here. From parking to every activity available. They have hiking trails from 5km all the way to 40km. They also have biking trails too! You can rent a bike if you don't have one or if you just want to minimize the struggle of bringing your own. Just make sure you have a helmet and other protective gears because you won't be allowed to bike without them. It's a fantastic place to host birthday parties for both adults and kids, engagement parties or just a day out with friends and family. You have train rides for the kids, a horse ride and other fun things to entertain the little ones. Please be cautious as it can get a bit wild. Be mindful that other people will be there drinking (you know what alcohol can make us humans do). I HAVE A LOT TO SAY BUT I HOPE THAT JUST GIVES YOU AN IDEA OF THE PLACE. ENJOY!

Absolutely delightful. One can picnic, braai , stroll around looking at the animals. Great place for families. Workers do an excellent job of looking after the place. Clean. Except the areas where irresponsible dog people don't pick up after their animals but that's few and far between. Dogs are not supposed to be allowed in the picnic area but yet they do come there even inside the tiny cafe, why? And why doesn't management stop them? Hot drinks not available on site but there is a Cafe with ice cream, cooldrinks and snacks etc. Kids will enjoy interacting with friendly and tame animals Entrance R40 pp Babies under 2 : free

This venue is perfect for a family day out. The venue is extremely family friendly and dogs are welcome on a leash. We did a very flat and easy 5km walk but 10km and 15km routes are available for those that would like to cover more ground. The 5km also has an escape route about half way through in case it becomes too much for the little ones. The venue is very busy over a weekend which equates to a safe hiking experience. The kids will love the pony rides, zipline, paddle boats, petting zoo, train and tractor rides. Mountain biking trails and restaurants make this venue ideal for every member of the family.

It was Awesome. Our group of 15 friends did Muddy Princess 2023 supporting our Family and Friends Fighting Cancer (2 Special Ladies Angelique Smith 31 Years old (Breast Cancer and Mieke Van Den Berg 8 years old ( Leukemia) 2 Uncles that we are also supporting through the fight of Cancer uncle Theuns Le Roux and uncle Bert and then also to those who lost the Fight against Cancer Cousin Cecilia Jacobs 35 years old ( Breast cancer ) And then the special man in my life my DAD Who had Liver Cancer. Both died in the past 2 years. Muddy Princess is for Ladies, but we treasure the men in our lives asswell.

Took my grandsons for an outing on Monday but was very disappointed to find all rides were closed. Now that the kids are on holiday I personally think that they should consider opening up the rides on weekdays. Got to feed some animals though. Couldn't feed the pigs as they were on a strick diet . At least they played on the many swings and slides as there weren't too many kids that day. I guess it was bcuz we went there early. Had some great pizzas at Tin Cup. Kids enjoyed the jumping castle and the jungle gym at Tin Cup. Overall it was a great day out with my grandsons...

Good place with all the amenities, clean , green lots of stuff for kids to enjoy day, a train ride, paddle boat , bump cars, pony ride, jumping castle, few pets , sheep, goat, pig, peacocks and many colorful birds. No restrictions on music..a good place to host a function as you can book a Lapa as per your guest list and you will have a reserved area for you n your guest...you can park inside with a nominal charges n can park outside free of cost. Do have entry charges which is also nominal.

Totally not wheelchair friendly! Absolutely hazard going with a wheelchair or even a pram. ( anything with wheels on!) Plus no wheelchair parking indicated , absolute nightmare for physically challenged people. Added to the experience you have to pay yo park a car CLOSER to the venues and car park guards are a total disaster. ( yes we know they are not your employees). If anyone had these challenges...AVOID! AVOID! this venue..

There are a lot of activities here: — there is a garden center / plant nursery - car wash - a mini farmers market - restaurants - 5 km - 15 km hiking/running/biking training - picnic area with plenty space grass and gazebos - Free Parking space and it’s plenty and R50 for parking near the picnic area Plenty of clean toilets It’s can get packed quite a lot as there are plenty of activities for the whole family

Our visit was fantastic. The aura is excellent for family picnics. Strict access control ensures safe environment for everyone. The noise levels were well controlled to although the place was abuzz with activities. We had a nice time. There is a host of activities to be enjoyed. Very good for the kids. The parking could be cheaper by the picnic area, at R50 per vehicle. Only reason to give one less star.

Awesome experience. 2022 July went on awesome cycling mountain bikes. We took the 30km trail, bad idea it was(Its shows that equipment at gym doesn't give the energy outside). It's a mudy and Rocky ride. I hit a rock on my back wheel, it was flat in seconds(bring extra tube and pump). R40 To enter per person, R150 for 10 entries (so if I bring 3 people, I'll be left with 7 entries)

Lovely Sunday outing with family. Farm animals, playground, free admission for Ouma, golf driving range, live music and doggies allowed. A special canine menu! Lots of walkies f people and doggies. Food was so good, snail starter of R70 was excellent. Hamburger was slightly undercooked, but a brand new replacement had been given. Little train to enjoy f kiddies. Will visit again.

Beautiful outdoor venue and entertainment for the entire family - and you can take your dogs along too which is an absolute bonus. Lots to do there from cycling, running, walking, braai along the river and lots more! It's a safe venue to experience all the activities with complete enjoyment. We cycled at the park and the various different routes are well-marked and fun to ride.

Whether you are looking for a fun day out with the family for a hike or run this place fits the description of fun. Even if you are looking for a starting point for that cycling session and not sure where to park, then this is your spot. You can head out for that walk, run or ride and be guaranteed a great snack and a drink with friends afterwards (at your own cost).

I think it is a good outdoor place for kids to have fun.. I was just disappointed at the horse riding activity where we had to wait our turn for more than 1 hour in the question because there was only 1 horse. Also I think workers can take turns to go for lunch while activities continue Instead of completely closing for lunch.

Extremely fun and family orientated with too much to do. It will keep the kids entertained for hours. Please go early especially if you’re going to braai on a Sunday as there’s not many places under the shade, it’s a first come first serve basis, nevertheless you can always book a nice shaded lapa as well from R600 onwards.

Great outing for the kids. Lovely picnic areas where you can just about picnic out of your boot! Cost is R35 to see the animals, you can purchase lettuce and carrots to feed them, too. and walk around the farm yard. Nice restaurants for a bite to eat. Trails to walk/run/bike. We do this often! 10/10 would recommend.

a nice place to chill & spend the day with family. Management could do something about the excessive loud music some family play in their areas. This can be heard by almost all other who might be trying to have a good family time trying to talk to each other. People must be able to have FUN but respect others also.

I had a fantastic experience at Rietvlei Zoo Farm in JHB South. The park impressed me with its cleanliness and ample personal space. The variety of animals was captivating, and the diverse hiking distances catered to various preferences. Rietvlei Zoo Farm is truly a gem for nature and animal enthusiasts alike.

Had to attend an event at this venue, was told that it's dog friendly, but confirmed and also downloaded the rules via the pdf sheet they have, which states dogs are allowed if on a leash. Arrived at the ticket booth only for Jacob to unapologetically turn me away "no we don't allow dogs!".. So I left.

We recently assisted with a baby Shower at one of the private venues. This is a fantastic place for small family get togethers. The venue was clean and we had an amazing time. One suggestion would be to create parking closer to the different party venues for delivering props and décor.

Great place I enjoyed it with the animals and excitement all around family gathering place and there is a river I am not sure for fishing but there is a park run around the corner.My experience was awesome I hope this review helps others to get more interested in this place.

Lovely hiking trails. The 15Km trail isn't properly marked at the end though. I enjoyed every moment of the hike. The first 10Km mainly a flat running trail with cover in certain parts. The last 5Km were a bit more exciting for me. Entrance fee = R40, cards are accepted.

Beautiful outdoor fun for the entire family, friends, colleagues and everyone in general. Entrance is reasonable at only R40 per person. You have the option of parking your car inside at only R130. The zip line is fun too, horse riding and so much more fun, fun, fun.

A stunning place to see and explore with something to do for the whole family. I often take my dogs for walks through the trails and I absolutely love it! Would like for more trash cans along the trails as there’s a lot of rubbish lying around(unfortunately)…

I went to Rietvlei Zoo Farm for a hike, I did the 10km and found it to be easy to moderate. There are parts that have no shade, therefore carry water and wear a hat/ cap. The trail is nice, the place has a picnic area, so it can be a day visit

Enjoyed the hiking trail, although it gets a bit boring around the last 4km. What was really unpleasant was the very loud music that was played at the picnic area. This is not suitable for a place where you want to go and unwind.

We went there for a Team Day at our company, we booked one of the lapas. Wow, the place is very beautiful and functional for self-catered events. There are shops around for spenders and The Mall of the South is very close by.

Rietvlei Zoo is great for a bit of a day out with the family. Also nice to book kids birthday parties. I do feel their rides for kids are quite pricey especially since you pay for entrance.

All the routes are beautifully marked, lots of shade and so affordable. I always buy the 10 pass tickets which lasts me for a while. It's also safe for solo hikers/runners.

Enjoyed the hike here. It was really fantastic for the most part. The only downside was all the switchbacks at the end and the amount of sand and mud towards the end.
