It was rather difficult to find the entrance to the carpark coming from Mt Dandenong Road. It enters via a narrow road next to petrol/service station. There is a lack of simple and more informative direction signs, and I took some trial and error to find my friends who had already arrived and were waiting at the pavilion. It requires a few minutes to walk from the carpark to the pavilion which is in the middle of an a lake, connected by a bridge. It can be quite a distance to carry food stuff to the open picnic area or the pavilion. Once in the park proper, it is hard to believe the busy Maroondah Highway, the Ringwood train and bus station are just close by or just about 10-minute walk. It is a great park covering 8.5 hectares with the playground, shelters, seats, public toilets, barbecues, bushland and approximately 1.1km long walking and cycling trails. The many ducks inhibit the lake are protected. Visitors are not to feed the duck with bread as it is unsuitable food for them, and waste bread causes bacterial growth in the lake, which can be deadly to the ducks. While we were there, a magpie came to "share" our food. Now that many of my friends and I are not in active employment, we can enjoy the tranquil setting of the park on weekdays. If you enjoy my review, please give me a Like. Thank you for reading.

Ringwood Lake Park has been a family favourite for generations, and is going from strength to strength. A total rebuild of the playground and amenities opened in 2018, bringing a fresh new feel, and off street wheelchair accessible parking to complement the wheelchair swing. There is a walking track around the while length of the lake, and a lovely wooden bridge across the middle. Walking tracks link up to the Mullem Creek trail and across the railway lines up to Ringwood East, making foot/pedal access as good as or better than automotive. A small cafe strip is just across the highway via pedestrian lights, or there are four bbqs available near the playground. The iconic wooden carvings of native animals are still spotted around the play area, adding to the overall charm. Not a bad spot at all.

Some places on this earth need little to no upkeep to hold a warm and wonderful place in your heart. Unbelievably and, until this year unbeknownst to me, this is such a place. I remember coming here as a young butterball with my slimline skateboard (it had a long handle and had a specific name and purpose), my brother and my family, and straddling the board at top speed down the path, skidding to a halt before plummeting into a potentially watery grave. The playground, BBQ's and toilets may have changed, but the feelings and fun remain on high! Pick a sunny Sunday to venture down to maximise the positive vibes, as the sound of children playing tends to transport us all to a time we all thought long forgotten, but very much alive in us all.

We really enjoyed this park, the wheelchair accessible playground is great for all ages, even our two year old managed to have fun. It also has a sand pit although we didn't play in it. But you need to keep a close eye on younger ones, the lake is right next to the playground and is unfenced. Tracks along the lake are very well maintained, great for bikes and scooters. Only downside is there is barely any parking. There is only a small parking lot specifically for wheelchair users, and a few off street parking along the main road and those get filled up very quickly on weekends.

Wonderful park that's got something for everybody. Playground for the kids. Lots of tracks for walking or riding. Good covered areas for a picnic or a bbq with friends. The lake has plenty of life and ducks to entertain the kids.
Playground
Plenty of play options for all kids ages and activeness. Slides, climbing bars, swings, ropes, sandpits and more.
Restrooms
Good restrooms available next to playground
Picnic area
Covered and uncovered picnic areas with electric BBQs available. Lots of lawn space for bigger parties

  • Kenny Cheong

It felt spacious and the playground seems quite new. As a young kid I grew up in the area and have always loved the lake and the bridges. My kids loved seeing the ducks and having more than sufficient room to cycle around.
Playground
There's a few slides and climbing options. It was quite new though a bit limited.
Restrooms
Standard modern public park toilets.
Dog-friendliness
Seems quite friendly with water fountains for dogs too.
Picnic area
There's quite a few places available around the lake.

It's a lovely place to visit, near to the train station just a few minutes walk from station and near to the eastland shopping center...I love the way they build the cottage like thing in the middle of the lake..alot of birds and the lake is also good and lovely, I spend alot of time viewing the surrounding, can also see alot of people in the park and children playing around the area...i absolutely love watching birds sitting in the middle of the cottage they build over the lake.... #nature #birds #bridge

A very nice park, great modern playground and a reminder of the history of Ringwood with the mining information, it is a pity the replica hut and poppet head are long gone but thankfully the display boards with the information are still in place. The lake has a calming tranquil effect and I think it world be nice to have a little paddle in a canoe or kayak on the lake for people new to watercraft ( there are no signs saying you CAN'T do it, and there is a dock with ample space to launch a canoe or kayak)

  • Haleema's Kitchen

Amazing. One of the best place. Loved the nature. How beautiful this world Allah pak nas created for us. I love it.
Playground
Fun filled play area for kids. Worth every second... there.
Restrooms

Dog-friendliness

Picnic area
U can do bbq .. u can have prepared meal from home... or you can bring your food from anywhere this place is just waoo would surely add good mood for the food...

Ringwood lake park has a lake with ducks, walking trails, electric BBQs, toilets and children’s park. The play slides, swings and sand play areas are located slightly apart from each other giving a feeling of scattered throughout the park. This gives kids to explore around and also for families to have their own secluded areas. The equipment and facilities are quite new. The car parking can be difficult during peak times. But otherwise an awesome park, with something for everyone.

  • Kimberley Taylor

This park has been recently updated. Its beautiful and nicely landscaped. There are toilets, undercover barbecue eara next to the playground, a lovely boardwalk and lots of open spaces to play ball games or picnic. The playground itself has varying equipment from sandpit and swings for littleies, and climbing frames and tall slides for the daring older child! There is wheelchair accessible parking swing and ramp onto the main playground equipment.

  • Champika Dinusha Bowie

This place is fantastic for families. BBQ, cleanest toilest, pleanty of things for youngest to older kids to enjoy. Bike & walking trails also available. Please take your children's sandpit equipments with you as this place has the most incredible sandpit for them to enjoy. I love this place. Car parking is bit difficult though as it has no big car parking area. Only the side of the road. But drop off parking is available inside the park.

  • Jason Proposch

Excellent small oasis. Great walk for families with younger kids. Access to the water is easy so make sure kids are 100% supervised. (Also, there is direct access to the train lines, with a train crossing gate, so make sure the nippers are always in sight). Extensive playground, toilets, some historical mining points of interest and well landscaped paths and bush. Great open areas as well. Very easy to access. Resident ducks as well :)

  • W M

Really nice place with something for everyone. Great for families with children as there is a good playground area. The only thing that lets this place down is the filthy stinking toilets. Council should be cleaning them twice a day at least. Disgusting.
Restrooms
Worst part of the Lake and lets the whole place down. Stinking and filthy. Not sure why these wouldnt be cleaned twice a day considering the popularity of the park.

  • Kimberley

First time I've been in here a very long time! Great improvements, very accessible and inclusive for those with additional needs. Ringwood Lake Park has a permanent Changing Places bathroom facility catering for people with a severe disability. The park also features four unisex toilets – two being fully accessible and providing baby changing facilities. From what I could see the Barbecues looked exceptionally clean.

  • Matthew Chambers

New equipment and modern public and accessible toilets make this park a winner with families and young kids. While feeding the ducks is now prohibited (according to the signs) the park allows for a leisurely walk around the lake, wheelchair enabled swings and a couple of electric bbq's. My kids love the double swing where the little one and the older one can sit on the same swing facing each other.

  • Serena

Great amenities, lots of toilets, playground, accessible walking track and parking, nice green grass, and the lake itself is quite pleasant. Not recommended for swimming, but lots of people fishing. Ducks a plenty. There's a subway across the road along other food options but plenty of tables and seats and BBQs as well. Water taps available including for dogs, who are welcome on leash.

  • Lorraine Higgins

Went there to kill some time with my grandson whilst his mum was busy at an appointment close by. Well we couldn't have been more delighted. It has a great play area for the littlies and a lovely walkway across the lake. We loved sitting at the stop and enjoy the lake half way across. It's covered in, well has a roof and somewhere to sit and a beautiful breeze on a warm day.

  • AZO Photos

I go to Ringwood lake every day to rude my bike it is wonderful and peaceful. It’s super close to the shopping centre so I can get a snack afterwards. I am a photographer so Ringwood lake is an awesome spot to take photos. I have been many times with my friends and it’s loverly spot to relax, hangout and have fun. I definitely recommend going here. Five stars from me.

  • Adli Gapitra

Little park with small lake, quite beautiful and relaxing park, located near to the main road, it has some car park and public toilet. There is also a playground for children to play. The lake is clean and sometimes there are some ducks swimming in the lake, but we are not allowed to feed them. A beautiful and relaxing place to rest or to spend some time with family

  • Jenny Curtis

Amazing and disability friendly. They have swings made to fit wheelchairs and for older people who require special seating and belts for swings. Wheelchair accessible parking is also now available. Massive play structures with amusement for all age groups plus the walkway around the lake. The renovations completed to the park are nothing short of amazing

  • Glenn Bachelor

A beautiful place to visit, just tucked off to the side of the Maroondah Hwy a few mins walk from the centre of town. There is a number of walking/cycling paths around the lake and plenty of grassed areas to relax and have a picnic on. You can see quite a number of water birds on and around the lake, which makes it a great spot for the kids to enjoy.

  • Mark Aidan

There is a great trail within this very good park. Follows around the lake and links up with other trails and parks. Plenty of seating along the way with lots of birdlife. Toilets, BBQ's, picnic facilities and large playground not too far away. Open spaces for play and relaxing. Not too far from public transport and Eastland Shopping Centre.

  • Lachie

Apart from the bbq’s turning off fairly early in the evening, great place to have a BBQ with kids or thanks to the great playground and access to a toilet block right in the main area. Would have given it a higher ranking if the BBQs didn’t turn off as soon as they did. Just consider getting there in mind the BBQs shut off around 9pm

  • Cheng Joo Tan

Awesome playground for kids (sand pit, swings (including one for wheelchair-bound users), metal slides and a carousel). The toilets are also conveniently located right beside the playground. Paths are wide enough for kids to cycle/pedal safely and with plenty of open grass fields for picnics. Barbeques are also available for use.

  • Lyn Kosmer

This is a lovely bushland setting with all the amenities including BBQ and picnic tables, toilets and upgraded playground for the kids. Parking is available just off Mt Dandenong road It’s one of our ‘go to’ places for sketching and we often see a group doing Tai Chi and other exercise genres. A great asset to this community.

  • John Harding

Lovely bush park with an interesting mining history. Cool in summer and cold in winter. Seems not overly crowded. Has toilets and a few bbq areas. Could do with more tables and seats. But bushy and peaceful. Great relaxing place to visit. Watch kids near the water. Has lots of model boats use it at times. Worth a visit.

  • bingolord

It was a beautiful sunny day, loads of people & kids everywhere because of school hols. I had a most enjoyable walk around the lake but the water looks very murky and it would be good if the council could clean it up. I don't know how possible that is but a most enjoyable saunter around …

  • Kerbray

Beautiful park to take your dog for a walk on leash, with plenty of walking trails and some historic sites scattered around. The lake is stunning and there's plenty of birdlife on the waters edge. A few picnic areas and an interesting bridge across the lake, but otherwise a pleasant walking area.

  • Denise Veiser

Ringwood park is a beautiful place to bring your children or grandchildren. The playground is lovely and offers plenty of scope for a variety of ages to run around and use up some of their energy. It's also one of my favourite places for photos featuring my grandchildren and nieces children

  • Kathy Aust

Lovely park, plenty of things to see and do. A great playground overlooking the lake, the only downside is it is not fenced and children have direct access to the water when playing. Bike paths, wheelchair access, a few undercover spaces with BBQ facilities and toilet facilities available.

  • Chaman Ipalawatta

Awesome park for the kids or for the next BBQ. Plenty of room in the kids play area. This park is equipped with new rest rooms, BBQ areas, wheelchair accessible swing, water refill stations and plenty of walking trails. We go to this park all the time and my kid enjoys the play area a lot.

  • Sam Fa

Nice for walk around small lake. Dogs should be on leash all time and there is no off leash area which is a pity. Playground and BBQ area make this park a perfect place for a picnic with family . Plenty of car park next to the park . Walking distance to east land shopping centre

  • Dinusha Perera

An excellent place for kids. Kids can do lots of activities. Parking is little bit difficult. There's no specific parking area. Water, toilets and bbq facilities available. lots of places to sit and wait. You can not feed the ducks in the lake. There are number of huts.

  • Kelly-Anne Fulmizi

Great new park with lots to do. Not great for toddlers although there is water play. Very spread out so if you are taking multiple children could be hard to see them all at different parts of the park. Parking nearby is also hard to get so be prepared to park and walk.

  • Elaine Cobain

This is a beautiful place for a walk around the lake in a natural Australian setting. Also seats at random places, some picnic tables but lawn areas for sitting and a wonderful children's playground. I would just like to see the water in the lake looking less polluted.

  • Leanne Craig (Crackersmrs)

We visited on a busy public holiday and surprisingly easily found a free bbq and seating. BBQs were clean and located close to the playground. Playground is great with lots of different apparatus for different ages and abilities. Easy walk around the lake after lunch.

  • Krithi H R

A marvelous children's play area very well thought out! I find it quite entertaining as an adult too every time I visit this place. The trail is also beautiful, dense and calm free from the hustle of the outside world. A great place to hang out for a full day!

  • Nicholas Lim

Quite a popular neighbourhood park with a lake enjoyed by families of 2-legged, 4-legged and feathered varieties alike. Pleasant walking trail to go a few rounds to get the desired workout. Been there a few times. See photos of all facilities available there.

  • Fiona Jane

Parking is far away. There are toilets and a playground but playground leads straight on to the lake so a bit frustrating for young children. You need to watch them very closely. The new playground is not great for little ones. I liked the old one better.

  • Sam Rye

The park has been renovated. Great central climbing frame, with multiple slides for different ages coming off it. Bonus points for kids who climb to the top of the tower! Also good set of swings, a sandpit and a water course. Ideal for 3+ ages, I'd say.

  • P W

Good little play area for big kids and little kids it has toilet facilities wheelchair access and lots of things to do. When you're bored of all the play equipment you can go down to the Lake part and check out the ducks. It is also pet friendly.

  • Melissa Bennett Monteiro

Have recently visited with my children after the recent renovation to the playground. It offers great variety but is rather close to the water and can be a worry with a fast moving toddler. Some more seating around the playground would be good.

  • Matt Newton

Renovated park is awesome. But the slides are a little too steep. The kids fly off the tank at the bottom and is a bit dangerous. But the design is awesome. Really cool and well thought out.... Just not enough ramp at bottom of slides. (Plural)

  • Sofya Barysheva

Beautiful park with new playground, huge sandpit and a water tap. Kids of all ages happily play there. Different slides, monkey bars, swings, barbecue areas and open grounds make this place quite popular. Perfect place for kids parties …

A great suburban park. Good playground for the kids, lots of different zones for picnics or open space for the kids to run around. The lake is nice, the creek feeding it not as much, but overall it's a great park to have nearby
