Me and my husband go here on a regular basis for morning coffee/treats/breakfast together. It's probably one of our favourite things to do in the West End and wish there were more local, non-chain places like this to explore. Ritual is an amazing example of a thoughtful small business as it dedicates an area of the cafe to showcase local artists - clothing, art, alcoholic beverages, jewelry, home goods, and skin care products. The sausage breakfast sandwich is INSANE. We even asked the staff what kind of sausages they used, which we found out they are made in-house! Seriously so so so yummy. The coffee is also incredible, there are always fun, seasonal options, and it's consistent in quality which is rare. I normally get a mocha, peppermint late, or a seasonal option. The baked goods are also just SO yummy - we've tried the peanut butter brownie, lemon tart, birthday/funfetti cookie, and the coconut bar. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. The owners should be so proud of the business they've created and hopefully more will follow suite! The atmosphere is something unique about this shop that sets it above the rest too. Lots of colour, unique lighting, fun wall decor, and mix/match seating/tables. There is a TON of seating both outside on the wrap-around porch, inside in the front of the cafe, and also in the back for more privacy. This place is often packed with people which should be a testament to how valued it is by the community.

Update: You clearly do not care about your customers and feedback. The time I called it was due to the store not actually having a phone and it being complete waste of time to have calls go to your personal phone where you cannot actually help a client. The other time is when I asked a simple question regarding an item and the response was completely unhelpful as I asked if you had any available that day and all they had to say is "sorry we don't" rather the way it was addressed. It's all about how you speak with customers. I was not annoyed at the get go today but I know my daughter had this drink several times with no issue with trying to have it ordered (by the way she was happy with the drink again) but the way you spoke to me wasn't truly professional. Perhaps take people's input as a learning experience rather than getting defensive. It will only serve you well. ------- Today I went in to grab a couple drinks for my daughter and I. Customer service is sadly was not great today though I have been there times before and the staff were better. I do know it was the owner and a staff member who served me and even though the other person made an error and forgot my one item to order (not sure how but things happen) it was the owner that had terrible rude customer service. She seriously should not be working with the public. She should remember customers are what keep a business going. I feel bad for the staff and she cannot be a pleasant person to work for. Love this place! The interior is welcoming and warm. The shop at the back is a bonus stop after coffee. The maple chai latte is my favourite drink…. I am confused, though, about their hours of operation. After having gone one Sunday at 4 pm a couple of months ago, they had just closed. I called the next day to enquire (since hours at most places were wonky because of COVID) and was told they are open until 8pm nightly. Went again a couple of weeks ago during the week. Arrived at 5:15 pm, with the intention of staying a couple of hours, so I settled in with my child. But at 6 pm we were told they were closing. I apologized and told them that I thought they were open until 8 pm, but they said that they are not and that the owner might start extending hours on certain days in the Spring/Summer…This is not consistent with what I was told over the phone, nor with their website. Confusing!

Top notch cafe. You know, I normally save my reviews for after I've been somewhere a few times and they've really wowed me. I have been in Ritual for all of 15mins and I think I've already fallen in love. The atmosphere is local and chill, the decor is homely yet interesting and new. The wrap around patio porch is in a perfect spot to watch the action of main Street. Ritual is a necessary stop along the Trans Can walking path. The staff was SUPER welcoming and friendly. I had a cinnamon coco latte, turkey bacon pesto sandwich and big slice of lemon poppyseed loaf. You are not going to get a 4 course meal here, but every item they do have seems to be pure quality. Stop in here. UPDATE; I've now been here at least 10 times. It never disappoints, Ritual is fantastic, why haven't you gone here yet?

I went in, no other customers at the counter, I started looking at the food in the windows and kept looking up and down, left and right, and the girl at the register just waited there. I had to go to her and ask what things were. She barely answered my question, as if i should have known what the products were. The sandwich was 13 + tax and had very little in it. Never coming here again. Response to your reply: There was nothing added to the sandwich. It's exactly as the picture showed. Starbucks sandwiches, heated, are 8$, not near 13$. There were many descriptions missing on the display windows. And the mediocre/poor service quality hasn't been addressed. I really want to support local businesses, but they will have to be others that I support. I own my own small business so I know how tough it is.

First time going today. Had a feta and cheese danish- and it was AWESOME. My cinnamon coconut latte was exactly what I needed- the perfect hit of cinnamon, and not too sweet (but also not bitter!). Exactly the way I like it. The milk froth was just the right amount, and the espresso is wonderful. I can't wait to go back and try new things, the staff here are so friendly! I came on a Saturday and it was quite busy. But I'd love to come and stay on a quieter weekday :)! I will say though, it is definitely a bit pricey. 6$ for a pastry is pushing it a lil, but for the atmosphere and taste I would probably come back still. Maybe not *every day*, but perhaps every week :)

Really torn about my review here, the coffee is delish, and the desserts we bought all look amazing, but we received the WORST service when we visited today. The person at the cash register was so beyond rude, and acted like it was a personal affront to her that we asked what kind of desserts they had today. I only had to ask because nothing seemed to be labelled correctly (desserts were labeled as meat sandwiches etc). When the two employees were packing up my order, they dropped a dessert on the ground, and just threw it back in the bag and handed it over. I don’t think the desserts touched the floor, but the whole interaction was so rude. The ambiance and atmosphere of this little coffee shop is adorable and so inviting, I just wish your employees were not so rude.

Before jumping on why I gave 3 stars let me say that the place is lovely to spend some time with your loved ones. The meal/coffee was delicious. We’ve paid about 55$ (including 20% tip) for two of Bang Bang Bao & Latte. Not sure if there was a mistake or not but I wasn’t offered a receipt to check the prices & it was super busy to ask about it! So be prepared when you go! The person who served me didn’t have a sense of welcoming as I mentioned it’s our first time but we weren’t welcomed at all. I really wanted to support local & that’s why I went there so I was expecting differently but I’ll definitely will give them another chance later, assuming today wasn’t a good day for the staff or maybe they were too busy to engage better!

It’s a quaint little cafe that has nice looks but average food - I’d definitely come again but read below for my full breakdown. Food - 3.5. It was alright. Sandwich was average and sugar cookie was very dry and not much flavour. Service - 3. They made the food and drinks quickly. But not super friendly for the price of the food. Atmosphere - 5. Very lovely. Price - really not worth it. 2 coffees a sandwich and a cookie costing 30 dollars is a bit much.

I arrived at around 4:30 pm and ordered a coffee + a date bar, which was so soft & almost impossible to eat by hand. Sincerely hoping for a plate to enjoy my treat properly, I was disappointed when the staff initially informed me that they couldn't provide one due to the impending closure. However, when I expressed my dissatisfaction and requested that they take the order back, the staff reconsidered my request by finally providing a plate. In addition, the coffee I ordered was not as fresh as I had expected. It was a bit disappointing, as I had hoped for a flavorful and enjoyable cup.

I was at Ritual last Friday and as much as I love the ambiance and the selection of desserts and drinks the service will likely result in me not returning. We were told they’d be open until 9pm so ordered our second glass of wine to only be told moments later they’d be closing an hour early. Despite being told not to rush they turned off the music and lights while we were sitting there at 807pm. We just wanted to finish our drinks. I know it’s hard to run a small business but this was rude. When you have customers still seated after telling them they could stay despite closing early you should really follow through instead of us leaving our half full glasses of wine behind.

Since early 2022, I've been driving regularly from downtown Ottawa to meet my friend from Dunrobin at The Ritual and then walking the nearby trail together. The Ritual has always been as the name suggests, a delightful ritual. We love the warm ambiance, the comfy seats and the perfect drinks and pastries. This is a business that cares about its customers and doing things right.

Amazing new cafe that just opened in Stittsville! Owned by the lovely woman who (used to?) own The Thirsty Maiden! If I can offer anyone advice: Get the maple latte!! Also, can we talk about the latte art?! There’s literally writing on my coffee?! The owner is the most lovely woman and you can tell she loves what she does. The employees are super kind, and the place is always well kept. Two seconds after someone leaves the table is already cleaned, wiped and photo ready. It has that modern-cafe feel that I love. Awesome wifi and place to get some school work done! Easily accessible location and limited-but-available free parking!!

The aesthetic and vibe at this cafe are superb, and the coffee is passable, plus the non-coffee drinks are awesome! One massive downside in my opinion is the fact that you can’t leave a tip? As a fellow service worker (ex-barista now server/bartender) I recognize how essential tips can be and how they actually supply an additional income for most people, which is why I always feel justified in leaving tips. The fact that you can’t at this location bums me out and I feel pretty bad for the employees working here. Would love to see them add a tip function.

I come here pretty often in the mornings and enjoy the food & drink options and overall environment. But I went in around 5:30 and the employee was telling us how they were closing soon since it was “dead”. They usually close at 7 and there were maybe 8 other people in the store sitting down. We basically got kicked out and felt rushed being there during the regular operating hours. Didn’t offer us plates because they didn’t want to do dishes , couldn’t grill a sandwhich since the ovens were turned off and refused an uber order since they were “closed” . Maybe update your operating hours to avoid further confusion !

This place is incredible!! Me and my bestie went here for the first time today and we left with a huge smile and dubbed it our “new Stittsville spot”. Not only were the food and drinks delicious, the staff were amazing too. The owner took time out of her busy day, making delicious vegan treats in the back, to come out and say hello and completely made my day. Also, this place is licensed with amazing local beer, wine and liquor so there’s something for everyone!! The atmosphere has a great vibe and is very relaxing and there is a little boutique with locally made clothing items. Highly recommended. I’m in love!

As this cafe is located on the Trans Canada Trail, I have stopped here a few times while hiking or cycling the section of the trail that goes through Stittsville. A great place for a rest stop, especially if you are on a long ride. Although I have not tried the food yet, I have sampled their cookies, chai lattes, and coffee, and enjoyed my orders. The ambience is pretty cool with an outdoor patio, as well as front and back indoor sitting, along with neat decor. An eclectic spot that I plan to return to.

It's a lovely destination. It was bitterly cold and windy this morning. My friend and I decided to cut our walk on the trail short, and cruise in to the Ritual on Main. Opening the front door, the warmth and scent of fresh coffee, and goodness infiltrated our senses. This coffee shop offers so much . A relaxing and cozy space to chat, the staff is efficient, courteous and friendly, and the tables grouped in a way, that begs you to sit for a spell ... Love this place

Very nice coffee shop. Coffee is good, treats are great and staff is excellent. Best of all, they don’t gauge you on their prices like so many other coffee shops do these days. Best of all tho, their credit card machine doesn’t automatically guilt you into tipping some outrageous amount, again, like most other places do these days so bring cash to tip as I’d always rather tip those who deserve/earn it rather than being guilted into it by the machine.

Morning after the storm, we went searching for an open coffee shop and I will assume we were not the only ones! As we passed by Ritual, we noticed the open door. We could see the sandwich board stating no hot coffee. However we were happy to see that iced coffee was available! It was excellent coffee and the generous slice of poppyseed lemon loaf was delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We even returned for a second cup later that morning! Thank you for providing service to the Stittsville community that day!

I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie with protein power and it is SO GOOD! The protein power is vanilla bean flavoured and it goes perfectly with the strawberry banana. The inside of this coffee house is adorable! So cute and calm and they even have free wifi! They also have clothing!! Super cute dresses and handbags at reasonable prices. Love this place would definitely recommend! (They also have ice cream+sorbets now for those interested!)

Love this cafe, but for a mom that would love to bring the kids in could not go in with a stroller. It was not a pleasant experience to find out I could not get in with my stroller and have to ask a stranger to carry it up for me. I can’t even imagine those that have a wheelchair, it would not be as welcoming. Let’s be more considerate to the community and inclusive.

I stopped in to get a few drinks and snacks for our office staff meeting and there was a great selection to choose from. Staff were friendly and efficient - I had the iced chai latte with oat milk and couldn’t pass up the vegan brownie (and it was very good). The entire team was happy with their order, we’ll have to make this a regular feature of staff meetings from now on. Thank you for bringing a fun coffee shop, and such a great centra location!

Finally made it to the Ritual on Main! Was there on my own on Monday, early afternoon. It was quite busy but I still managed to find a cozy chair by a window. Great atmosphere, fun decor and love the chill modern vibe. I had the Chai Tea Latte. It was delicious A great place to go solo with a book or to meet up with an old friend. A very positive first time visit. Stayed about 45 minutes. Will definitely go back. Friendly staff.

It's very nicely located right at the junction next to the green trail and has its own parking. It's far too expensive for the quality of food provided.Sandwiches were good but not very exciting. The iced lattes weren't up to the mark. They were too dilute and my peppermint coffee didn't taste anything like peppermint. Drive-thrus serve better iced lattes.

The lady in front of us was unsure how to skip the “add tip” prompt , and didn’t seem to speak much English. The extremely rude worker pressed the highest amount (30% I’m pretty sure) and passed it back to her disgruntled. That’s one way to get a tip when your customer service is in the ground. I went twice: one time for ice cream which was terribly sweet and artificial flavored. The second time a smoothie that tasted like melted sweet candy. I then learned it was made from not real fruit. On top of everything expensive. The only thing o could ask there is for a coffee or tea.

A great locally owned coffee shop with a awesome vibes, a very friendly staff, passionate hard working owner, lots of natural light, and beautiful wrap around porch/patio, and maybe the best Americano I've had. It's great to see a new business revitalize and bring Stittsville back into such a historic building in town. So happy to have you move into town!

Gorgeous interior, whoever designed the location has a great eye for detail. The funfetti cookie was delicious! Taking one star off because my $7 mango smoothie tasted like drinking a bath and body works candle, I finished it because I wasn't going to waste $7 but it was strange to drink something candle flavored. Will be back sometime to try the coffee!

Beautiful little cafe in picturesque small town Stittsville. Definitely worth a stop off the highway and a perfect place for a coffee date. Extremely cute clothing and accessories and a couple home bits to look at as well. Maple Chai didn’t disappoint, I’ll definitely be back!

Cool cafe to hangout with your friends, family and loved ones ❤️ Located at the intersection of Abbot Street and Mainstreet with parking on the backside. We ordered the latte and cappuccino with desserts on the side. They were served hot and we loved everything that we ordered. They have indoor and patio sitting for their customers.

Love coming to this gem, in the heart of Stittsville. I only have nice things to say about the owner, atmosphere and variety of food and drinks. Do not hesitate to stop in, it will not disappoint!

Absolutley delicious food, and love the atmosphere! The latte is heaven, and their breakfast sandwiches are so addictive. A favorite spot of ours for sure. Love that the trans Canada trail is right beside the coffee shop. It's perfect for a family walk after we eat.

I used to visit their old location by another name so I am guilty of comparison but this place is cute and warm. My baked goods didn't tatse as fresh as usual but it may have been an off day. Support your local businesses and a Great one at that. I think this place has a lot of potential.

Really wanted to support this place but upon hearing about how the owner treats the staff, I won’t be going. Pockets the tips, doesn’t train employees or leave room for mistakes. I won’t be overpaying for a sandwich that demeans their employee and promotes a toxic working environment.

Great location and vibe in a historic building. But coffee etc and service needs improvement. And as a place to go for the environment, real mugs would be nice. This could be a great cafe but misses the mark.

Lovely place, well decorated and great atmosphere. Some might say it's expensive, but you are getting what you paid for IMO. Great owner who clearly understands customer service. Hoping this place becomes a staple for Richmond/Stittsville! My wife and daughter love it there!!!

The best coffee around. The beans and the brew are excellent. The menu is full and the "not basic" drinks are top notch. Highly recommend the cinnamon coco latte. A full compliment of tasty treats to choose from. This place will be hard to compete with.

This is my first visit...glad I came. Lovely atmosphere and the coffee is vastly superior to the major chains. Super friendly staff too!! Definitely won't be my last visit!

Super cute place. Friendly staff, delicious lemon poppy seed loaf and peppermint lattes. And the macarons are fabulous. Will definitely return.

Nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee. Very busy. I tried their white mocha, pink lemonade and big chocolate chip cookie all of which were great!

Delicious breakfast sandwich and tasty treats. I’m a tea drinker and their Earl Grey was so delicious! I saw their ice cream flavour list and can’t stop thinking about the Chicago Mix flavour I must go back and try it.

The service was lovely. I had a watermelon matcha iced late and it was delicious. There's so many places to sit and catch up with friends. Very nice atmosphere!

Lovely and cozy cafe experience at ritual! Great drinks and tasty treats. The porch seating during the summer is my favourite. Recommend the iced Chai latte!

Great coffee and ambiance. It would have been great if it were not at a busy intersection but there’s some parking at the back available usually. Would really love for more of these to prop up around Ottawa.

Cozy vibe. Great staff. Amazing coffee and delicious breakfast sandwiches.
