The fountain is really beautiful during the spring and summer time. It’s located inside the Bronx Zoo, you can access easier to the fountain if you enter from the Fordham Gate of the Zoo. If arriving through public transportation you can take the Bx12,Bx12SBS,Bx9,Bx19,Bx22 buses and take a short 5-7 minute walk to the Fordham Entrance. The exhibits closest to the fountain is World of Birds, Sea Bird Aviary, Aquatic Bird House,Birds of Prey and Madagascar. Also another hot spot near the fountain is the SEA LIONS!! Definitely check them out they have the Sea Lion Feedings daily at 11a.m and 3p.m. It’s also wheelchair accessible. There’s stairs but to the sides there are paths if you can’t or don’t want to take the stairs.

One of the most magnificent fountains, I've seen. Tremendous history lesson of the fountain, by other previous reviewer Andrea Fini. Do greatly appreciate and like his reviews. Most unfortunate and am truly heartbroken for the lose, of the fountain, for the Italians, of Lake Como. However, believe me when I say many of us here in NYC, have most sincerely loved this fountain since we were children. And greatly appreciate the extraordinarily wonderful gift from the Italians.

This fountain was originally installed in 1872 in the central Cavour square in Como, Italy, right after the transformation of the town's port over Lake Como into a wide square. In 1902, William Rockefeller donated it to the city of New York and installed it in the present location. In the picture which i posted, you can see its original location! Today our main square in Como is still empty and missing it...
