I am truly one of those people who have been to several restaurants in my day but this one was the worst. We were called at 7:53 that our table was ready. We had to wait about 15 minutes before the manager came and took the order. We didn't get drinks until almost 9 with no appetizers. Crazy part is we put in the appetizers order when we ordered drinks. After waiting another 15 minutes for that to come. Meanwhile people have came in after us and have gotten their food and drinks. We say something to the manager it's already after 9 and we didn't want to go somewhere else because it was already after 9. They bring up the district manager and all she could say is that they had a lot of to go orders and that they could take off 20% off the bill. No mam . When they did start bringing food out some of the appetizers were cold. We sent stuff back because it was cold. It seemed as if they didn't care. When the rest of the food came out some of it was wrong and the district manager said the kitchen never messes up an order. My fiance can't eat spicy for so all his king crab legs should have had just garlic butter nothing else. It was spicy. Told them it was wrong and it never got corrected. We didn't leave this restaurants until after 10pm. With wrong orders. We didn't pay for anything but I had to take my fiance to the waffle house because he couldn't eat the food. Crazy part is after they saw it was a problem no one tried to put a rush on things like it was no big deal. They lost out on a repeat customer. I work in Customer service and I know all about being short staffed it was no excuse for the treatment we received. They apologized but it didn't seem genuine.

I sat at the bar with friends attempted to order never was acknowledged until some time later. Asked for a drink then each person (2) gave me their role, one was for the back bar, the other says that another young lady was my waitress. I never got a drink until I had to ask another three times. Finally got a person and even then it took her another 15-20 minutes to bring that drink. She returned and acknowledged the person to my right before she acknowledged me for my food all though I had been there long before said person. So I decided not to even drink the drink or order food. I just watched my friends eat and enjoyed their company. Went elsewhere for food. Nice place, pretty crowded. Just the service needs to be improved at the bar to the left as you walk in. Oh yeah and there's only one Blender at that bar so had to wait for 3 other waitresses / bartenders to make drinks for other people before I got my drink. Big place busy with one blender go figure. I just refuse to eat or drink at a place where I'm not getting good service because I know I like to tip and tip well. I will go again and give it a second chance. Because I would like to try their crab. Will let you know..

Decided to come here on a Friday night due to the usual crab boil place I go to was closed during these covid times. Staff was amazing our server Jojo was super attentive and great! The food was delicious! My girlfriend and I had two seafood boils. Crawfish, shrimp and snow crab in Cajun sauce were on point and i was definitely satisfied! Now from the good to the bad..... they didn't have starters/appetizers, but sides on the menu which is fine, but when we ordered the sides they came out way ahead of the seafood boils.... next, they did provide bibs and gloves, but no wet wipes and un like other seafood boil places, they did not have handwashing stations, only the bathrooms, which the men's room had 1 sink..... finally... now I do not know if its because of covid... but when I spend more than ten dollars on food I expect silverware... if I can get a metal fork and knife at Chili's, I expect it here. Along the same line the server mentioned having to steal an extra pair of metal crab leg crackers.... if I'm coming to a place with crab in the name of the restaurant, those metal crackers better be in abundance for everyone at the table. Well there's my review. I would recommend a try if your usual favorite seafood boil place is too busy or closed.

So the overall 3 star rating is based off multiple experiences at this location, where the food (possible different cooks) is inconsistent, the service isn't always good, some servers just don't care that much and don't hustle to get the food out or that tip, and the atmosphere varies based on who is working sometimes some bomb Spotify stations will be playing other times is dead as hell in there and nothing going on. So I'm writing the rest of this post based off the visit on 10/26 with my awesome very attentive waitress ASHLEY who was very helpful and made great suggestions even though we had been returning customers, she single handedly made this a great experience. The food was really good today too so props to whichever chef was in the back because everything that came out was fire. The atmosphere was still DULL AF but Ashley made up for it in personality!! Props to her and deserving a raise, with the upsell on drinks ( great suggestions BTW) and adding rice to the meal, all the extras she was on it. Ask for ASHLEY to be your waitress you won't be disappointed.

This is another great dining place with great food! It's been a while, but I decided to visit again. I normally dine in , but I called in my order ahead of time. I ordered the daily special 1/2 lb of blue crabs 1/2 lb headless shrimp came with corn and potatoes with cilantro lime sauce with lemon pepper on the side. When I arrived I expected to wait, being I literally ordered 15 mins ago and it takes 10 mins from my house to get there. My order was the customer service was excellent. Each staff member was friendly as if I was the only person there. My order was ready I also requested a special drink which was a wine margarita. Instead of the adding tequila I requested wine. I thought I would be denied, but the bartender was excited to hear and try my drink choice. She made it fresh right in front of me and it was delicious!! The atmosphere was great and the facility was clean as always! Thank you for making my money worth spending here!

We go here at least once a week, sometimes more, we had friends in from out of town and it was the worst!! We sat at the bar and every one of our drinks were wrong, (as an example, I ordered margarita on the rocks, it came frozen, my husband ordered a Captain Morgan drink, he got Jack Daniels, both our friends drinks were also wrong) we had to ask the bartender 3 times for silverware, a bucket for our trash and napkins (since the napkin holder in front of us was empty) all of which we finally got over half way through our meal! We always loved this place and bragged so much to our friends, the whole experience was just embarrassing, I get that the bartenders get very busy but ours was not, she spent the whole time we were there talking with her friends at the end of the bar, it was everything we could do to get her attention! I also understand there is a bit of a shortage on crab legs right now but what we got in our bags was just down right pitiful!! Worst experience we've ever had dining out anywhere!!

Four of us went there for a special occasion. Our appetizers took a while, but they were okay. Had to ask for the dips that were supposed to come with. Asked for plates. They "didn't have any". Four out of four entrees were incorrect at first. Two were sent back and one was still incorrect. It was super spicy when ordered as mild. Drinks from the bar took forever. Manager said she'd have them redone, but we had already been there way too long. She comped two meals, but took the food off the table. Etc., etc., etc. Even though my food was okay, I lost my appetite from all of the stress. The people next to us had problems, too. Ugh. I hate spending a lot of money on a chaotic mess. We spent over three hours seated there, and ended up going through a Wendy's drive-thru on the way home to feed two of our party. So, this was a learning experience for me. This review is for anyone who has never been to a crab place. For me, I have only ever had the cute little crab cakes that are tucked into a crab shell. You know, like a kid would eat, never really knowing personally that there is a side to crab eating that needs work to get it done. Well, so I learned real quick. I am thankful they threw some corn, taters, and shrimp into the steam bag, or else I mighta starved. LOL. I opted for the garlic butter seasoning. Goooood Lord, that was so good! Thankfully, my wife helped. But, to the novice, watch some YouTube videos before going to eat, or you might end up frustrated. Our server was Corinthian. She was super nice and helpful. And, I highly recommend this restaurant.

LOUD. Too damn loud. This is a restaurant, not a club. Terrible host stand on greeting. It's so loud you cannot hear anything they are saying. They cannot hear anything either. Our beeper went off and they didn't even tell us who to follow and then sat someone else and said we had to keep waiting. God awful service. We were told we could get drinks at the bar while we wait. There is no seats at the bar, and we don't drink. The food has no discerning flavor whatsoever. If you truly love seafood. Red Lobster is doing it better, for the same if not lower price and better atmosphere. This is supposed to be a restaurant, not a strip club. Too many people dressed like they're at a sleazy strip club. Have some damned class. Terrible place. Terrible service. Cannot hear each other at the table talking unless you're screaming at each other. Flavorless food that had not real soul. NOT kid friendly.

The waiter was amazing He gave first class service, the oysters was on point… we got our bags and it was on point. I ate one scallop and was like they good but soft. Offer one to the husband and because it is his birthday I gave him the biggest one. He bit into it and say don’t eat anymore the are uncooked. Called Ken over he said let me get my manager. The young lady comes over and asked what is wrong, I give her the replay and she states let me get them recooked for you. I say recooked no I am good. She goes to the back and comes back and says he says he can recook them for you. I almost lost it! You are going to take these back into the kitchen and recooked them that is unsanitary and nasty. I ask for my bill and pay full prices. Someone please tell me if this is not against restaurant’s code or am I just bougie?!?!

First time here from North Carolina and I was disappointed with the waiter and the customer service! The waiter never came back to offer us refills. The server seemed as if he didn’t want to be there. Also, I noticed a family of 4 get up and leave that were Asian because they were not being served. I will never return to this place when I visit Florida. The food was ok but customer service means a lot. Then when we got ready to leave, we needed a carry out and the person at the counter would not get us one. She said the waiter would need to get us one and proceeded to ignore us standing there. The waiter never showed up and we just wrapped the food in a napkin and left. The music selection was also inappropriate for children. The music was uncensored and it made me upset. Please do better!!!

My first time in Jacksonville. We were taken to Rocking Crab by my daughter and her boyfriend who have been here before. The meal was great. It was later on a Sunday night and we were able to sit down right away. Once we ordered it took no time to get our food. I ordered the “A” with Cajun and TNT spice level and it was perfect. 1/2 pound of Shrimp, 1/2 pound of Crab Legs, 1/2 pound of Sausage some corn and a couple of red potatoes. I honestly couldn’t finish it all but it was amazing. I have never had a seafood boil before. No utensils. They offer gloves if you want them but I just went with what I had and dug in. Oil and juices dripping down my wrists the whole meal. Delicious.

The food was pretty good, the waits were ridiculous. It took a little while for someone to come over but when he did he assured us he was going to take care of us & had a great personality.. over 25 minutes after the drink & appetizer order we got our calamari.. then about 20 minutes later got food. My friend ordered another drink but he brought back one of the other drinks we didn’t ask for so ended up having to buy an extra alcoholic beverage than what we wanted. Asked a lady to bring us the shell crackers and she just forgot about us so asked the waiter. For the wait & the price, I’d rather just stick with juicy crab. The flavor is over all better & the staff is more attentive. But it was nice to try a new place out with the family.

The food is DELICIOUS! The portions are decent. The price is fair! Service was fantastic and very attentive. The drinks are excellent and very well mixed. The Rocking Special sauce is soooooo good. The Cilantro Lime sauce is also good. The heat levels are up for debate. Their medium is pretty spicy. If you don't like spicy then opt for the mild. It has some spice but it won't have you questioning life lol. This is becoming one of my favorite seafood spots

I placed my order online, waited over 35 minutes and they still needed more time. I did not eat in the restaurant although many people were. The food itself was good. I got the lowest spice level and it was still spicy. I didn't mind because I like spice but even my jamaican boyfriend was sweating which is an accomplishment. Ordered in advance, was told 10min but when I arrived 30min later my food wasn't ready. They took my payment and walked away as if to retrieve my order however I stood waiting almost 15min before I had to ask "What's going on?" Apparently my order was mistakenly given to someone else. My wife and I went here for the first time and had an amazing experience! Kenny was our server and when we asked questions he immediately asked if it was our first time in. I was overcharged for a tip from a waiter named nathan and now they act like they don’t know nothing and cant pull up nothing. Me and my wife visited rocking crab on Blanding next to Chipotle today server Megan and manager Krystal told me that I could not buy bread with my catfish sandwich and when I meet the manager she was loud and rude there are lots of crab restaurants in orange park and jacksonville where they treat you with respect when spending your hard earned money. I would never hire a manager that doesn't understand customer service because that will trickle down to all the other employees. Why can't I buy food at a restaurant?

Don’t ever judge a book by its cover. I wasn’t sure by the outside I wanted to try this place but I’m very happy my friend said, “Let’s do it!” Our server Jasmine was the sweetest and a hustler. She works hard. Excellent customer service. The cat fish was amazing… fried in a tasty seasoned batter. Dipped it in Rocking Special seasoning…. Wow! Fried shrimp was excellent too! Tarter sauce! This is my absolute favorite spot for seafood. The sauce from other places just doesn’t compare. My waitress had red locs and was very friendly. I also got a drink which was pretty strong. Always a good time and good food when I come and will be back. This will only be my second time coming but they do not disappoint. Jacksonville has so many similar place like this but as far as taste price and combs this is by far my top three favorite crab spot. The drinks from the bar taste like a drink should and not just juice or watered down like other places. Clean establishment friendly staff ask for MARBA❤️one of the most wonderful waitress food and drinks came quickly she checked on us more than one time. Happy Hour with co workers we all had a wonderful time Thanks Rocking Crab! I will be back !

Enjoyed the rocking Crab a friend of mine that job told me to try them and I did I liked it so much that I took my mother back and she enjoyed it so we are going to take a whole bunch of our buddies over there and see if we get the same type of service enjoyed our waitresses every time we were there so we hope it will continue parking was tight but it was well worth the effort.

The food was very fresh and tasted delicious! This was my first time going and it did not disappoint. Prepare to get your hands dirty! Only thing I would choose differently is the seasoning. Trash all over by outside door; should have been our first indication. We were told 10-15 mins 20 later a lady yells over from the hostess area it be another 10 or so...they had plenty of tables open. I understand short staff and we would have waited but when they have no respect....the kid cleaning tables was using the broom used on floor to clean tables and then just laid paper down on table no wiping down at all. At the point we got up and left. Don't eat where they don't care. Poor management.

My daughter wanted rocking crab for her birthday so I paid for it 75.04 and it was supposed to be mild she has acid refux but when she got home which was way across town it was wrong and too hot to eat.My order was supposed to be the hottest and it wasn't. when I called the manager Krystal only offered for me to bring it back and they remake it. Worst experience of my life. Walked in to see probably 8 to 10 staff if not a few more. Went to sit at the bar so as not to take up table since I was alone. The bar area looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite sometime, meanwhile the staff seemed to not care how nasty it was. I ordered catfish and the taste was just ok. As I was getting ready to leave, the waitress asked if I wanted to put my beer in a to go cup. Is that even legal, not sure. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

This place is very nice and efficient. We didn't have to wait long to be seated. There was a little wait for the waitress but we was able to place our order quickly after that. We both ordered from the fried basket area plus we had the cilantro lime chicken wings. Now when I say the wings is on point, trust me that would've been my meal. The drinks need a drink stirrer so you can stir the mixture if it settles to the bottom. The Hennessy think possible was okay after he stirred it.

Went out to eat here yesterday and the food was delicious but the service was terrible. It took 40 minutes to get our drinks. We received our appetizers before our drinks! The bartender was to concerned with the 3 people she had at the bar. She was to busy flapping her jaw and talking about herself while the drink tickets piled up. She was very rude to her coworkers and it was quite embarrassing to watch. The food was great but I will not be returning because of the rude bartender!

Went here to eat on a Thursday night. Our waitress Sara was awesome, and the food was amazing. This was our second time here. The first time we went here it was nice and kinda intimate. Today was a different story. All the televisions were on, the noise level was to loud, and playing hip hop to a meal was not really comfortable to me. It felt like a dance party. The food was great. Atmosphere? Not so much. I hope this place isn't going down. It just opened its doors.

The food was good but the service is very poor. Was seated right away. However, I did not get any water until an hour later, and my order was taken. It took another 30 just to get the check to pay. It was a group of 25 and only one server. The food was luke warm when served.

A very classy nice restaurant. A warm welcoming, followed by an excellent service, with a lot of attention to details on order to please you. The seafood was super fresh and the portion sizes were more than adequate. The service always with a smile and very patient with us as it was our first time there. The manager came by to check on us which was nice. Conclusion, if you have the opportunity to go eat there, do not hesitate !

One of the places to eat seafood. I've been going to Rocking Crab for years. $25-50 average a person. Now if you go all out with all kinds of drinks and sides....? Professional wait staff. Now the music can be set for all. Not just one type of audience.

My husband and I had a date night here tonight and the food was amazing as well as the drinks. My server Miah was amazing she took our drink order as well as our food order and everything came out at once. We were seated for less than ten minutes before we received our dinner thank you so much for being a great server. She has an amazing attitude and really made first time here a great experience thank you Miah!!

Food was pretty good. Most places have sharable portions, this one was more individual but had a kids meal available. Very nice atmosphere. Waitress was very attentive when available

Went in one day to try the oysters and now I’m hooked. The seafood broils are good with nice portions and the salads are very fresh. Now the drinks…. Good.. good … good! The restaurant has a full service bar but the drink menu has a nice selection of interesting drinks as well. I’ve been twice and the staff was very nice and personable each time!

We had a great time at the Rocking crab. We were a little sceptical at first, the popular items seemed to be peel or crack seafood. It seemed liked it would be a lot of work. Everything peeled very easy and the crab meat pulled out of the shells. The flavoring of the butter was very good. Very messy, be prepared. Rember it's seafood, so it will be pricey, but we'll worth it

Best crab spot I’ve been to EVER! Gotta try the Cilantro Lime sauce, nothing in the world like it and I could eat it over and over again. The hours do vary, so call before you get there, especially if it’s anytime after 9. Speedy service, moderate pricing, good portions and good quality of food.

The response comment from Krystal was totally unnecessary and unprofessional. This alone put a bad taste in my mouth. I have been searching for seafood resturants in Jacksonville to secure reservations or to have catering service for our family gathering. If Krystal is employed here, then NO THANKS! We will move on with our search.

This is the first seafood restaurant I tried when I moved in the area. I've been a regular here ever since. Jennifer and her staff provide a very friendly at home type atmosphere. Food is great, drinks are made strong ...Gotta Love It

Manager Rachel very rude my total was 72.10 woke up and the amount updated to $86.52. I called the lady which was Rachel and she told me I need to call my bank and was yelling at me being super rude. If I were you guys I would not pay card when eating here they’ll add their own tip. Food was nasty as well.

Spent way over 100.00 for two people. Food was ok. Blonde manager had attitude because the last mixed drink i had took forever to get to the table and was watered down and disgusting. Told her no problem I will for it but won't be back. Never seen a manager be so confrontational. Won't be back.

Wow, hate to say I was really disappointed at the cold mushy oysters. I usually hear good reviews but they were definitely off today. The oysters unfortunately were way past their expiration date. You would think that as much money that is being spent they wld have fresh season the regular…..

My first time here. They were very busy. My food was good. I love the fried pickles. Our Waitress was very nice and checked on us often. This will be one place I would come back to visit whenever I am in the area.

I must say this is the best tasting seafood I've tasted in Jacksonville. The seafood was fresh and well seasoned. Kim, our waitress, was so sweet and welcoming. She checked on us continuously and refreshed our drinks without us even asking. We will definitely be returning really soon!!!

I swear they have the best snow crabs and boiled shrimp I've ever tasted I just picked up an order of snow crabs and blue crabs. Haven't tried the blue crabs yet but I bet they're good! About to eat them in a few mins

We ate here 3 times in 3 days, the food was excellent and so was the service. The crab legs were some of the biggest I've ever had from a restaurant and cooked just right. Everything was tasty. Definitely coming back when we get back in town.

My boyfriend and I come twice a month at least and they never disappoint. Their Alcoholic Drinks are pretty good as well. The Rocking Speaical Sauce is great!
