  • "Have been attending concerts at Rod Laver Arena for nearly 40 years!! In that time it has had many changes which I'm sure have been done with purely the tennis in mind but for those of us who attend concerts only, II feel it has lost something or maybe i'm just being nostalgic as this evening, March 26, 2022 just saw Midnight Oil and last time i saw them at Rod Laver Arena was in the mid 80's! Still great venue and they have improved their food offerings to cater for the health conscious but the coffee well the decaf soy latte i had is better not discussed! If memory serves i have seen the following here: U2, David Bowie, The Eagles, Cher, Motley Crue, Spandau Ballet, Alice Cooper, Blur, Fleetwood Mac, Oasis The Corrs, Bryan Adams, The Eurythmics, Culture Club, Human League, Kylie, Madonna, Blondie, Pink, Beyonce, The Cure, Prince, Split Enz, Foo Fighters and more that I can't remember and I look forward to even more including KISS! Special mention to Amyl and The Sniffers who supported Midnight Oil, absolutely outstanding! So so good to hear Punk music in Rod Laver! 21"

Getting to the building itself and settling into our seats once the event was pretty straightforward, however it was pretty overwhelming trying to navigate both Merch and Food stands with my partner who uses mobility equipment as it was bloated with crowds of abled-bodied people who had no awareness if not consideration - we also noticed other disabled patrons struggling with the same thing"

Special mention to Amyl and The Sniffers who supported Midnight Oil, absolutely outstanding! So so good to hear Punk music in Rod Laver! 21.8 KISS! oh my you wanted the best....you got the best! 22.11 Crowded House, so set up was so low key you would have thought they were the support act! Anyway encore was highlight with guest appearance from Mark Seymour!. 23.2 Joe Sumner, Sting's son, his support and yes OK. Note had nachos there for first time and $13.20 good value, good portion size, would get again. Sting was brilliant! 9.9. Culture Club, fantastic, supported by Berlin, brilliant. OK George voice a bit creaky and croaky but by george it's good to see him. 6.11 The Corrs. I love Irish music. 26.11. Mushroom 50 concert, one of the best I've ever been to.

This is just iconic in Melbourne. Recently took a cousin from Europe to see Melbourne Park and Rod Laver. Always so impressive. We came in a ice hockey day and the atmosphere was awesome seeing fans after it was finished. Highly recommended walking around RL and the surrounds. Love doing it even when I'm not a tour guide. The tennis is definitely the highlight, amazing atmosphere. However the Kiss concert earlier this year was absolutely brilliant. I would recommend visiting for anyone as great seeing the consideration for wheelchair access too. Well done on always being organised, welcoming and having many different events for a wide variety of interests.

I thoroughly enjoyed going to the Australian Open Tennis Championships here. I would highly advise anyone to go, young or old, even if you don’t really like tennis it would still amaze you. There are so many courts that you can access with just a $29 ground access ticket, which you can even just buy at the gates on your mobile. You can access every court except the 2 main ones, for which there is assigned seats and much more expensive. But if there is match in the main arenas that interest you and you don’t fancy paying up, you can join thousands of others around the grounds and watch the game in the countless huge screens all around while having the freedom to walk around and enjoy the food and drinks on offer. Really well run event, great job!

It would be great if venues like this would have designated spaces and stalls solely for people with disabilities so that they can have more space and comfort to navigate their equipment!

Amazing night seeing Luke Combs!! Entry pretty standard didn't take too long. Venue should really should consider opening multiple merchandise booths, don't want people to have to choose between seeing the concert in full and buying something to remember the awesome night. Probably good to consider changing drinks from cans to plastic cups at the bar instead of when you're making your way to the seat as well. Aside from that, good seating, toilets are clean and accessible. Crowd pretty easy to manoeuvre through.

A brilliant stadium for basically any event. No a bad seat in the house and sound is great. The food is nice however under prepared for volume of patrons can lead to very very long wait times. Better preparation would ensure quick turn around and happier patrons. We went for monster trucks and show started at 1. Traffic was a nightmare due to a local event so lost people didn't get there till right on one - no food was cooked and ready. It didn't take too long to start getting it out but by that stage lines around the stadium were huge.

One of the biggest events is called AO. We enjoyed ground passes on 1st day and Rod Laver Arena, Kia Arena and lots of other matches on 2nd day. Super se Upper wali agreements. Serving free sunscreen lotion also. Very good food court including Indian stall. This was my 2nd experience and we enjoyed it a lot. Must watch the live match and especially AO as people are enjoying too much and it's different "Mahol" very very Happy and recommending to see AO in a life time. We will come again and again if will get a chance.

Have seen many shows at Rod Laver (Rock concerts mostly - never attended the tennis) and found it to be a quality venue. Sat in the top deck back row once and decided never again. Always aim for a spot as close to stage on first level if you can't get within a bulls roar of front rows. Whilst attending recently I did notice the food and beverage prices appear to have been adversely affected by inflationary pressure. You may want to eat and drink before you go there

  • Dave S

Not that I'm a big DJ groover, but Eric Prydz was there, so thought I'd give an arena gig a whirl ... and he was BRILLIANT! This was my first time to RLA, and I bloody loved it. Drinks a tad $$$, but the people behind the bars, security and assistants all bloody nice n helpful. Good craic all up. Alas, not Zip friendly, stoopid arenas, so left zip to loiter at home.

Rod Laver is an iconic and fantastic venue for sports and music. Recently attended to see A.B. Orginal, Cypress Hill and Ice Cube. Awesome facilities, set up, areas to have drinks and food either from the downstairs ground level venues, or upstairs resteraunt or roof top bar with bar food. The concert was great, the staff do a wonderful job, friendly and helpful and the venue and night with awesome music was fantastic. Melbourne knows how to deliver.

  • Stella L

Went here for an electronic music concert. Possibly one of the best I've been ever been to. Easy to travel to and from by public transport. Had fantastic, elevated, seated views (with plenty of room for dancing without elbowing the person next to you!). Even had air con, which was a nice surprise, and made a huge difference to our enjoyment. Great crowd and vibe also, with no rowdiness or disorder.

Always great entertainment. Parking is close by. Always clean. Great availibility for food and drinks. Loads of toilets so short lines even for busy events like we had. Staff are sometimes hit and miss, some are super friendly, whereas others don't really seem to want to be there? Apart from that, have always had a positive experience here for concerts or tennis.

Fantastic for live shows, esports and tennis events. We have been here for .ore events than I can count and couldn't recommend a better venue. Decent sound and lighting, seating is set up for good viewing and the ground floor isn't too bad either. Food varies for price and options but generally not too overpriced for a stadium and quick service.

I had the pleasure of attending Fridayz R&B concert on a 30 plus degree day and was pleasantly surprised with how cool it was inside, the quality of food and cold drinks. Toilets were spotless, concert was next level, to all involved I take my hat off to you, well done. Will be back for

Consistently a wonderfully-run venue and home to the Australian Open tennis. It's easy to follow, well-signposted and comfortable. I can't think of another multi purpose venue I've been to that ticks the boxes like Rod Laver Arena. And in fact the whole complex around it is equally well run. It's accessible and inclusive. It is well connected for public transport (trams) and road options.

My dream place to visit all the way from Nepal & boy it did come TRUE… saw Nadal, Berriteni, Novak, Tsitsipas, Sabalenka, Garcia & the list goes on & on..accidentally bumped with Novaks parents & took a quick pic.. feel so elated to meet them for producing one of the greatest players of tennis. So well organised, systematic smooth entrance, good food & friendly Aussies

Rod Laver Arena hosts various events, but seating can be uncomfortable, and facilities may require updates. The venue's acoustics could be better, affecting the overall audio experience. Despite these issues, the arena's central location and efficient organization make it a suitable choice for entertainment events and sports matches in Melbourne.

  • Suzie

From the first concert when we moved to Melbourne. It was Hi -5 and I took my 4 children solo. To the many concerts that followed and yet to follow - Def Leppard, Dolly Parton, Sam Smith, Guy Sebastian, Andrea Bocelli, the list goes on ... great atmosphere every time! Great security, assistance but the toilet queues are ridiculously lonnnng.

  • Julia Tj

Best Disney On Ice ever. Organized well, so there was no long queue. Only the foods perhaps needed to be provided in more varies Very nice arena. Good lighting. Good seating management, so no one in front of us will blocking the view to the stage.

I have taken my 26year old daughter every year since she was 4 to see Disney on ice. Rod Laver Arena has been the best venue to see it. Great view of the show from any angle. Well organised and friendly staff to get you to your seats. The food is pricey, but the choices have improved. This show was one of the best over this period.

Went to the Mushroom Records 50 concert, good smaller venue for Melbourne shows. We booked a table at Railyards restaurant in the venue for dinner pre show. Very tasty and reasonable prices considering you're already at the show venue.

A great place for games or concert. The building inside have bars that's very convenient. It's a large place with many comfortable seats. It was opened for screen soccer game for free. Watched the FIFA women's world cup soccer game here last week. Amazing atmosphere.

  • Adam G

We were there for the Australian open and had excellent seating and had an all round unforgettable experience! The arena is the perfect sporting and entertainment venue and regardless of whether you are here for tennis or a concert, the atmosphere is always amazing.

We were Barricade for Paramore and except for the fact that Rod Laver security wasn't following safety protocol set up by Paramores team for those that had lined up from day before - it was an excellent experience. Perfect venue for a concert of this scale. More

  • James Parker

I was lucky enough to see the quarter finals here in early 2023 with Djokovic playing. We sat front row which I believe cost around $900 per person. Well worth the money spent as the atmosphere was amazing and we truly experienced what live tennis is.

  • David Teo

Amazing experience watching grand slam tennis at this world-class arena, certainly one of the best in the world! Facilities were great, and padded seating was comfortable. Was lucky enough to sit so close to the court too. Will be back next time!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience on the tour of the Australian Open. We visited (and got on) show court #3, went underground in Rod Laver, and on the rooftop. Overall, a great venue and I can't imagine the environment on tournament day!

Excellent stadium! Comfortable, with great views from the highest seats. A more enjoyable experience all around than the much larger Arthur Ashe stadium in New York.
