"A huge train station & bus way! Providing transport all over Brisbane & coaches travelling interstate! Ten train platforms! A lost property office! A news agency & many coffee facilities! Wheelchair access is available restroom & entrance & parking! Timetables on screen showing departure & arrival time of trains! At the bottom of platform 6&7 is the Zoom coffee stand! It has a loyalty card that you get stamped every coffee you buy!♥️☕☕"
"Brisbane can't claim to be a major city with a sad old station like Roma Street"
Roma St station is currently undergoing a significant renovation, which has made the entrance less obvious compared to its previous state. Despite this, the station remains incredibly convenient in Brisbane, serving as the central hub of the Southeast Queensland railway system. It offers direct train services to various destinations without the need for transfers. However, I must admit that I have some reservations about the station's interior design, which is the reason behind my three-star rating. As a city chosen to host the 2032 Olympics, I expected a more modern and visually appealing station. Unfortunately, the majority of the station's infrastructure gives off a vibe more commonly associated with railway stations in the global south. I hope that as part of the renovation, they not only focus on improving the entrance but also revamp the platforms to reflect the city's status as a global destination. Another aspect that detracts from my overall experience is the limited food options available. Previously, there was a McDonald's located on the second floor of the station. However, it has been replaced by self-service food vending machines, offering a less satisfying dining experience. I believe that having a diverse range of food choices within the station would greatly enhance the overall convenience and comfort for commuters and travelers passing through. Despite these drawbacks, it is important to acknowledge that Roma St station remains a crucial transportation hub in Brisbane, connecting passengers to various destinations seamlessly. Once the renovation is complete, I hope to see improvements not only in the station's entrance but also in its overall aesthetic and amenities. With careful consideration of the city's status and the needs of commuters, I believe that Roma St station can become a truly impressive transportation hub worthy of its role in Southeast Queensland's rail network.
The train section is pretty much the same as it always has been, functional with a bit of railway station nostalgia about it. The bus station, however... Make sure you know which bus you need to catch in advance. Trying to figure it out from the information given at the station is near impossible. Also, one platform serves nearly ALL the north and west bound busses... it is a mad scramble to get through the crowd and onto your bus before it drives away!
Located in the Brisbane Central District, this multi-platform train station provides access to other train lines, buses and coaches. It is huge and can a bit overwhelming to navigate especially for a first timer but there are lots of signage to help you find your way around. And if you're still having difficulty in understanding these signs or a bit disorientated, there are always plenty of approachable and friendly staff to ask for help.

Brisbane can't claim to be a major city with a sad old station like Roma Street. All the shops are closed. The place is Soviet Union grey. The information screens are so small I need a telescope to read the platform numbers. The train was on time but moved slowly at an average speed of about 50 kmh. Tickets are cheap with a Translink Go Card. No power outlets for laptop or USB devices on the carriages. Brisbane is in 1950 not 2019.
Bustling train and bus station which connects the city to much of Brisbane. In my experience the trains have always been punctual. Food court is located on level 3 with KFC etc. Newsagent and coffee on ground floor. It is extremely busy during peek hour times which is expected. There is always a lot of Translink staff (and often police) on site if any issues should arise.
Bustling station, a major node on the transport arteries leading into and out of the city. Trains, buses and inter-city coaches stop here. There is a food court on the 3rd floor with a passable KFC, convenient for a quick bite between journeys. 2 TransLink machines available -- a bit frustrating when the queues get too long!
Disgraceful. Waiting on platform 8 for the Cleveland train as directed for a 9.15pm train with a toddler, only for the platform to change to 5 at the last minute. Us, and several other groups of people, some disabled, weren't told and all didn't make the train. Stuck for another half an hour. We got an uber instead. Garbage.
A central train station in the heart of Brisbane. Pretty clean ISH, with easy access. Unfortunately sometimes there's dust from the nearby demolition works. Also would be awesome if they would add more trains during peak time. Not one every 30 minutes...
If arriving from NSW there is absolutely nowhere to obtain cup coffee/tea at 4 am. Earliest opener is maccas at 6. As I catch train 7 hours later I have to hang around station as no lockers to store luggage. Not happy, but has been this way for years
This transit place so needs a huge up lift , as a visitor arriving in Brisbane transit center and having to wait for hours for other transport or even waiting for public transport there is no where to wait comfortably no power points to
Helpful staff, but station policy towards customers needs to improve. It is presently necessary to park on Parkland Boulevard when meeting long distance trains. The XPT from Sydney arrives at 3.53am. I was greeted by locked doors at the
Tracks seriously need some grease on platform 5! Horrible 'transit centre' with bad food & outdated, uncomfortable atmosphere. The seemingly permanent groups of cops all over the station don't make for a welcoming atmosphere either.
Bustling with lots of commuters, second to the central station. Can get you to connect with other train lines and buses. Needs escalator to go up and one to go down. Not everyone can climb stairs and the lifts can be a little slow.
I recently was distressed due to a family crisis and I caught the wrong train but staff members Simone and Trevor were exceptionally helpful and understanding. Thank you Simone.Thank you Trevor. I really appreciate your help. Cleo
Currently under construction, but still accessible to all platforms and bus services. Always clean with public toilets if needed. Staff have always been kind to myself, I can't wait for the finished project.
Hub of transport for Brisbane. It's easy enough to navigate with spacious areas. Food court isn't that good and somewhat overpriced. Staff are nice. Good connections to other transport services.
5 stars to the compassionate platform conductors. Running for the train straight after the soccer with two young kids and they held the train for the extra 30 seconds we needed. Much appreciated
Place is a bunfight currently. They sent us to platform 10, but turns out the tilt train is platform 3 today and nobody bothered to let us know. Staff are pleasant and helpful, however.
Tucked in Brisbane city. See the train information screen, go to the correct platform to board and travel to your destination. If unsure, you can seek help from the friendly officers.
Beautiful place! Must visit. Google map will guide you to ground road if you go there from Herschel street but please use Roma street bus station there is direct route you can access.
Very nice station But vending matching on platform 7 is total scam. Today is my 3rt time I paid but I didn't get any drinks form vending matching and already charged full amount.
I carnt believe there is no baggage storage for long distances travellers . Frist time here since 1974 be my last time as well. I love Queensland but not Roma St station-01
Largest station in Brisbane, well maintained. New underground platforms are being constructed (Cross River Rail project), and station entrance is currently temporary.
Roma Street station is the largest station in Brisbane which service local, intra and interstate trains. Currently some parts of the station is being refurbished.
Not bad, cheap parking at the Hotel Jen car Park. Long distance trains depart platform 10. This was the original Brisbane terminal before central was built.
Had to use this station to change trains due to track closures on my regular line and found the staff extremely helpful. Made it in time, thanks …
Once again Google maps got it wrong. As the train station is not a park so it shouldn't be called Roma St Parklands as there is a separate parklands
As a station it's fantastic, well organised platforms that are easy to navigate around and can handle a large amount of foot traffic.
It’s a bit of a work in progress but they’ve done very well to make it functional, while the cross river rail is being built.
I do not understand why the main hub station for distance travel in Brisbane does not have luggage storage lockers.
Good station overall. The station has frequent bus and train services although the staff aren't the best
Transit hub for greater brisbane, connecting city transit to long distant services: both train and bus.
Staff were very helpful to my elderly Mum who needed help buying her ticket. Thanks
The walkway posed difficulties for wheelchair users due to its ongoing renovation.
Easy to get around, close to public transport.
it's a typical train station in Queensland
