Quick stop shop for essentials. Close to quite a few hotels and work places. Sells foods and groceries alike so you can grab lunch in a hurry or groceries on your way home. Not necessarily cheap for what they offer but if your in a pinch it makes sense. Can be packed during the correct hours such as lunch or after work in which case there is a line for self check out which is still reasonably fast. The cash checkout counter is only staffed by one person which is also the same person who needs to help on the self checkout if something goes wrong. Self checkout doesn't accept cash. Sells wines, meats, cheese, Deli, pastries, milks, juices, cutlury and paper products, water, sodas, candy, snacks, grains such as cereal, and other basic necessity items. No medicines were being sold here. They often are stocked with products compared to the woolsworth along the rail tracks where the majority of tourists are. This place is underground, take escalator down after taking elevator or stairs down all the way.

I absolutely love Romeo’s. It’s such an incredible, well maintained and beautiful store that has unique products from around the world that I haven’t been able to find elsewhere. The prices are very reasonable and often cheaper than it’s surrounding competitors. Romeo’s also offers nutritious options for lunch (yes they do roasts / chicken and salads, as well as an array of sandwiches and other items. They have cakes, if you have an event and have an in store florist.. and that’s not all… Reviews / photos do not do this place justice - it’s such an awesome place and I would highly recommend that you visit!

I will only give 1 star for the staff customer service. I went for lunch to buy a salad and could see they had ready made salads there to mix and match. I thought what a great idea. I wish they also had a taste testing. I got the Caesar salad and the Mexican Quinoa salad. Both tasteless and revolting. The Caesar was just mayonnaise and barely any chicken, maybe one piece if that was chicken and the Mexican salad was no flavour at all with the most tasteless dressing you could have. Very unimaginative salad mixes and they need to use flavoursome dressing like sesame oil Asian sauces for some rich flavours

The price are not transparent in IGA UNSW, they didn’t put price for some of the products and they are incredibly expensive compared with other stores, if you don’t ask they won’t provide you receipt, the receipt only have a total price, there is no details for each item at all! Which is unacceptable. I can remember the price for all the products I bought, they charge me 10 dollars more than they should, the scanned the wrong price for their products as well, this store is really bad. Don’t go.

This IGA was a promising alternate to both Coles and Woolworths in the city when it first opened. Its pricing seems to have gone up from early days. I've given up buying meat here and fruit and vegetable is only just on par in pricing with the alternates. I have stopped in for coffee and do like the idea of sitting in and chatting with other customers. There is a great cheese range. I'd like the specials to be more prominently positioned in the store.

A very nicely maintained IGA conveniently located off Martin Place. Access is via the MLC Centre food court, the train tunnel walkway or the lift on Martin Place. This store is busy throughout the week especially at lunch time. A very large range of fresh products as well as all major brands. Some good specials with savings up to 30% on some items. There is also a cafe and a nice large table to sit at when inside.

Product range is great, and location really convenient, but when you make polite conversation with the cashier and he goes out of his way to correct you and uses the phrase "if you had listened to me"....well, I can do without the attitude. And he's still coming at me as I move swiftly to the escalator to get out of there. Maybe Dude was just having a bad day...but it makes me think twice about returning.

  • Craig Priddle

What a pleasure. Down the escalators from the lunchtime chaos of the MLC Centre food hall and into a little bastion of reasonable prices and necessities. Fruit, sandwiches, aaaorted cakes etc and headache tablets are all great reasons to go here. The friendly staff and relative calm compared to the floor above are all most excellent bonuses. Wonderful to have in such prime real estate in the city.

I loved this IGA because it is conveniently near work, looked super clean and had a wide selection for a supermarket in the city. Last Thursday I bought a Tofu/Sweet Chilli salad and tabouleh plus chicken tenders. It was the ONLY thing I ate that day and ended up when a serious case of the gastro. Couldn't leave the house for four days. I can't go back now :(

  • Rattan Muttoo

Nice supermarket with a coffee stand and fresh baked treats prepared everyday. It's definitely more expensive in comparison to the local Coles (George and King Street) but presents far better plus the IGA has a fantastic range of French and Spanish cheeses available. If you're after a quick and cheap self serve salad or home made sandwich this IGA is perfect

  • Robyn Partridge

Becoming more and more disappointed with this IGA. When they first opened I shopped there nearly everyday and left Coles. I was told many times that they would order in products for me but they have not appeared each time I enquire. Just tried to phone them a few times this morning and no answer. If IGA want to save themselves they need to up their game.

It has good selection of food at a good price. But the hygiene for the staff in the Delhi could be better. If your doing a task with your gloves that is unhygienic. Meaning touching anything that is unsanitary, don’t then go use those exact same gloves to serve food. Better yet don’t pick up food with your hands. Get some tongs to serve the food.

Decided to give this place a go, now that Coles on George street has closed. I only purchased salad and vegetables and found some items were a great deal more expensive than Coles or Woolworths. I usually shop at the IGA Wentworth point and don’t mind paying a bit extra to support the ‘locals’ but probably wouldn’t return to this IGA

  • Vince D

This is quite a nice upscale supermarket. Although they don't have as many drink options as a Woolworths or Coles. But i often come here regularly. They sell items that no other supermarket sells, from foreign exotic brands to local brands that don't get sold in conventional supermarkets. I highly recommend this supermarket

  • Walter White

Good selection of food, groceries, small goods, meats, fish and lunch foods such as salads, bakery goods, fruits etc. They have much better stuff than your regular supermarket such as Coles and Woolworths. Once in a while I get a salad here for lunch as it’s super nice. Recommended.

  • Stephen Sander

One of my favourite supermarkets with beautiful fresh produce, Sonoma bread, a fantastic cheese selection, and lovely Italian sweets among the standard supermarket offerings, right in the heart of the city. I often swing by here on my way home for a few goodies.

  • Michael Nguyen

I don't write much reviews, but these guys make the best DONUTS! Products on the shelves are nicely packed everything is straight and aligned, owners probably has OCD but its a good thing :) Good work to the owners & staff of this store keep up the good work.

  • Peter Breis

Great place to pick up some reasonably priced meals, particularly their chicken and excellent deli/salad bar. Cakes can be good also. Right in the heart of the city and open long hours. Good to look for late specials as you are heading home after hours.

  • Matthew Bihet

Good range of groceries in this store all for reasonable prices. Plenty of checkouts including both self serve and staffed checkouts. Convenient location close to most bus stops, Martin Place Station, Wynard Station and ferry wharf at Circular Quay.

  • Kathryn Dixon

Good store if you’re doing a self checkout, otherwise not great service. Staff at checkout was acting like I was inconveniencing her and as I was leaving she completely ignored my smile and “have a good day”. Felt really rude

  • Alyssa Susanto

This IGA has so many interesting brands and products you just can't find elsewhere. Love the USA products. A little on the pricey end but I think it is well worth it. Super convenient and very close to Martin Place station.

  • Eileen Lewis

Pretty good selection in the cbd, but had to throw out chicken twice and eggs once because either the expiry dates were past (yes I should have checked) or the food was just rancid. Don't get meat or eggs, and you're fine.

  • Belinda

Convenient location and fancy set-up for a grocers makes for an enjoyable experience. But, there are more than half a dozen check out machines, don't think it is too unreasonable to expect at least one that takes cash.

  • Katalin Bélley

The "Romeo's is perfect for single business people after office hours. They have a huge range of ready-to-eat food in small portion, so if you eat alone, you won't waste the food, just pay for your own meal.

  • Briggs Jourdan

Such a pretty and colourful IGA in the heart of the Sydney CBD, conveniently located underground Martin Place. Sells a plentiful amount of variety groceries, prepared foods and is well maintained.

  • Jake McCorkell

A quiet and comfortable environment compared to the adjacent food court with a wide selection of products for purchase, while shopping I was offered a free taste test of some cheese and crackers

  • J Miller

Generally has a good selection, a bit of hot food and some sandwich choices. Choosing to get your sandwich grilled is usually subpar and the croissants are too expensive for their size.

  • Simon Cooper

Great selection. Easy to pop in and buy lunch for local workers. Stock pretty much everything you need. Great place to stop by too on the way home to pick up fresh food for dinner.

  • Stuart Clowes

Great service. I am a regular there and get smiles and greetings from staff all the time. They give help when needed, even before I ask. They make me feel welcome and looked after.

  • Gui Mougin

Good selection, salad bar and fresh sandwiches. Others products are more expensive than normal. Especially fruit and vegs, this is Martin place after all where big businesses are.

  • S. McMahon

A very well presented & larger than normal IGA supermarket in the middle of Martin Place just underground. Avoid lunchtime peak periods or end of day during Monday to Fridays.

  • Aashwinder Singh

I love purchasing food from here. It is fresh and yummy as well. Food here is expensive then coles and woolworths but still i am happy because their food never disappoints me.

  • Glenn Murray

From my limited perspective this is the biggest IGA in Sydney's CBD. A fantastic range of food of all sorts and sweets (confectionery). Open long hours 6 days per week.

  • Steven Kwon

staff should tell customers card dosen't work only cash make stand for 10min when almost get to machine they said no card what ridiculous customer service is that !!!

  • Fletcher C

Easily one of the best looking and most appealing groceries in Sydney. Appealing takeaway food options too, beyond what you’d normally find at Coles or Woolies

  • Jade Hudson

Poor pram access... You can go down the lift, but you have to wait for the manager to go back up, they could not find the manager when I wanted to leave …

  • catherine cusack

Great for most groceries and bakery/deli is terrific for buying lunch. They do platters for functions. It’s closing hours can be erratic and not open Sunday.

  • Jasmin

Everything is so neat and beautifully laid out here. So appealing. The auto check out machine is super annoying though, she/it asks way too many questions.

  • Damian

Definitely one of the better metro supermarkets arounds. At times we have however found them to be closed inside their normal trading hours as stated

  • Patrick Shen

Literally the neatest and visually appealing supermarket I've been in. Selection is ok for common goods, don't expect to find any niche foods here.

  • Josh Miller

Wide selection with good bakery, although if you ask for a sandwhich to be toasted, it'll only be lightly warmed and cold by the time you leave.

  • iussoe

Great products that they have..from many kinds of cheese until ready to eat pasta and couscous..we also can eat what we have bought in here too

  • Thomas Cool

inconvenience, I only moving around this weird building and couldn’t find the supermarket, also the lift is not working, what a silly joke

  • Alon Berman

Conveniently located in Martin Place below the food court. It is well stocked with fresh produce and convenient on the go meals & snacks.

  • AL

Waaaaay too expensive and their personal brands taste terrible. Except the cheesecake shop cakes (only at some IGAs). Theyre stil good.

  • Bob Jones

Great experience with store manager Noor Has a huge heart and helped us in the delivery area. All the staff that I’ve seen are lovely.

  • in hac lacrimarum Vale

This place is actually astoundingly good and very well curated and designed. Someone put a lot of brain power into this and it shows.

  • Tai Van

Tucked away in the corner you will find an IGA with friendly staff and cosy vibes. Has just what your office would like and need :)

  • Goran Ilieski

Great variety of fruits, vegetables, fresh made sandwiches. The daily section is perfect. For a city shop you can't ask for more.

  • Greg Lock

Wonderful fresh produce, good ready made meals, great deli and bakery. I wish there were more of these foodhalls around Sydney!

  • D Gonewai

Good sales but a bit pricier than IGA in the suburbs, allright for Sydney CBD prices. Love the raspberry and pear banana bread.

  • The List

I love this supermarket, always fresh and clean. Good salad selection, great for lunch. Offer a bunch of healthy stuff as well.

  • KJK

Clean, friendly and everything flowed well. But you'll be directed through every isle on your way to check out. Very clever...

  • Stuart Stratu

Best IGA ever, having as it does the most incredible cake shop and coffee shop. So great. Don't miss it if you're in the area.

  • Edge Wellness

The best IGA I know - the selection is broad. Great finds like healthy coconut oil donuts, almond milk drinks, quest bars!

  • George S

Clean, efficient, well stocked, inviting with easy to use checkout system. They pack a lot yet it doesn't look cluttered.

  • Tara R

I never thought I'd review a supemarket but this place has been so well maintained and managed the lockdowns brilliantly.

  • John M

Modern shop with a good range of healthy products convenient to Martin Place Station, open weekends as well as weekdays.

  • Sonia Merciai

Staff are really helpful, and the store is stocked with a great variety of products hard to find elsewhere in the City.

  • James G

Great spot for picking up lunch or doing a mid week food shop to top up groceries. Clean and fresh with friendly staff.

So much better than all the other less user-friendly and cramped convenience store options to be found in the area.

  • Jeff Nelson

Excellent little supermarket in the heart of the city. Really good selection of salads and general items.

  • Peter White

Awesome place from huge variety of fresh pre-made foods and groceries, very well priced for CBD location

  • Kris Kumar

Great selection of food, snacks and drinks. The staff are friendly and always happy to help when needed.

  • Matt Perry

They always lock the doors 10-15min before closing time. Opening times don’t match the ones listed.

  • mark Snyman

The store is focused on things you may need for a DIY lunch. Clean, neat and conveniently located.

  • Pariwartan Shrestha

Better walk a few steps more into here than to buy from Ezy mart. Helpful staffs, great location.

  • Robert Hunt

Good selection of fresh produce. Deli and bakery are not stated at all times when open however.

  • Hugh Kimlin

Great selection of quick meals and cheeses, cold meats. Essentials for corporate city life.

There’s a right and a wrong way to put a chicken in a bag. You get it wrong every time.
