Friday June 30th I walked into the dealership to purchase a ‘21 Silverado Trail Boss. Logan Fischer was my sales rep. Took it for a spin and noticed that the truck was running a bit rough in town. Logan said it was because their lot attendant had put lower octane fuel in it and it should clear up once a full tank of 92 was added. He told me they would include a fill up with purchase. He then backed away from that and only put a 1/4 tank of fuel in it instead. Purchased the truck and 12 hours later on the way to the beach, the truck was misfiring and a check engine light came on. I had to cancel our trip and check the truck in for service. They had the truck a week diagnostics ran showed 120 misfires on cylinder 4. A week later, Logan said I could pick the truck up at 8:00 am Saturday morning because it was fixed. Service returned my truck to me with the cabin air filter and glove box taken apart and left on the floorboard. Even worse, I drove the truck 10 mins after picking it up and it continued to misfire and run rough. They had the truck a week and only reset the engine light and didn’t even return my truck with the gas they used for the test drives. Check engine light returned with a service emissions message. I called the dealership and spoke with Andrew Roncarati explaining my frustrations and that I would contact an attorney about the way they’ve handled this lemon they’ve sold me and he then proceeded to tell me if I wanted to speak to an attorney that he could no longer help me. I have yet to receive a follow up call or an email from Logan or Andrew or anyone from Ron Tonkin regarding my horrible experience and quality of customer service since that conversation over two weeks ago. 58k dollar purchase and they’re silent. Not even a single follow up. I don’t recommend Ron Tonkin Chevrolet because of their shady practices and misleading sales tactics. They tried to pull a fast one with my preapproval from my credit union. They claimed that the preapproval from my credit union was rescinded by my credit union and no longer valid. When I called my credit union to verify this surprising claim, they had no idea what their finance department was on about and my preapproval was still valid for the full amount. This was an obvious tactic to get me to use their preferred finance partner for whatever kick back their finance manager would receive. Shady! Just another example of the type of tactics you’ll encounter at Ron Tonkin Chevrolet. They knew about this problem ridden truck and sold it anyways, didn’t bother to try and properly fix it, and now it’s my problem, not theirs. The truck is at a different service department because I have lost all trust and faith in the Ron Tonkin brand. Buy your vehicle somewhere else. **UPDATE** I took my Silverado to Lithia Buick GMC of Beaverton and explained my issues. They checked it in, offered me a complimentary Lyft back to work, called me 24 hours later and said my truck was fixed. They picked me up with another Lyft and when I arrived, their service manager explained that I had to faulty ignition coils they discovered almost immediately and replaced them and now my truck is running perfectly so far since. They took care of me, diagnosed and FIXED the issue promptly without any hassle. Just another reason to avoid Ron Tonkin and their service department when you can get better more competent service elsewhere.

This has to be one of the worst dealerships I've ever been to. From the sales department to Service. Horrible customer service all around. After showing interest in a 2023 2500 HD they were pushy and insisted to bring us the vehicle to show it to us at our home. The truck looked fine and we settled on a price and we purchased it. This truck the moment we got it with 47 miles on it leaked oil from under the engine. Which makes you believe that they didn't inspect it at all after receiving. You could follow the oil trail from my house back to the dealer. Once in the shop they lied to us over and over regarding the repair and had the truck for 2 weeks "waiting on parts" that another dealership said were available. When the truck was delivered to us it had no fuel and it wasn't washed and had severe paint damage. After talking to the sales manager and expressing that we were frustrated we were told that they had "bent over backwards" meaning that they delivered it to us? The sales person insisted to bring it to us, now apparently they bent over backwards? They also wrote mileage down wrong on our trade and had incorrect names on our paperwork, so they had to send someone out to our house 2 additional times for paperwork. Super professional. This was an awful experience, so badly that we only had the truck for 20 days with 900 miles and we traded it in for a 2023 F250, which I have to say has out performed the Chevy in everyway down to the dealership. Ron Tonkin is the worst dealership, beware.

I brought in my older Chevy truck to be serviced after it stopped running with an accompanying check engine light last Tuesday. I called several times over the next few days to confirm that they even got the truck (it was towed there) and to get an update, but the calls and voicemails went unanswered. On Thursday afternoon I received a voicemail that a part needed to be ordered from Reno and they provided a quote. I called a dozen more times over the next several days to approve the quote and give permission to order the part and complete the service, leaving several voicemails since no one ever answered. I still hadn’t heard back from anyone by this past Tuesday, a whole week after having the truck towed there, so I left work early to go in person for answers. They said they never got any of the voicemails and subsequently hadn’t ordered the part yet, which would take another three days to arrive. They said their phones were having “technical issues”. I won’t get it back until Friday. I’ve been taking Uber everywhere and sharing a car with my partner which is a nightmare with our work schedules. The truck could have been ready days earlier if they had responded to the million voicemails I left or even just answered their phone, but now I have to wait for the part to come in. If you don’t mind being left in limbo with no information about your vehicle status, and have lots of money to spend on Ubers, then choose this place for service.

My partner and I went to test drive a car we’re interested in buying. When we were working with the salesman (Chris) he was very polite and excited to work with us at the beginning. We told him a bit about our fixed budget because we only had the insurance payment for my stolen and totaled car. So when we couldn’t afford the additional features that he was insisting, his demeanor changed with us. By the end of our time with him we said goodbyes and he did not respond and simply walked away. Even though we said we were going to return later in the week to purchase the car. Because of his chanthe sails man Logan ge in demeanor it left us with a sour taste in our mouth and his expressions towards us felt judgmental for not being able to afford additional features. In the future I would prefer to work with someone else other than Chris. I’m not trying to be a bother but we were really excited to buy that car and left with a bad experience. I call back and Archie told me they would let me know if the car I was looking at got sold. They waited a full day to tell me it was sold (the same day I was finally able to get my check in) than a different sails man Logan proceeded to try to sell me on a car that was no where near what I was looking for. Just an awful experience back to back with this company

I refused to go above a certain amount including insurance and, it seemed no one was willing or able to meet my criteria. That is until Archie helped me at Ron Tonkin Chevrolet. He went above and beyond all my expectations! I even told him to let it go and I would wait for awhile until my new $$ kicked in to make it easier but, he wasn’t having it. He said that I needed a vehicle to get around, since I am disabled and he kept at it until he found me the right car. I’m so appreciative of all his hard work! Everyone there has been extremely supportive, helpful and generous in their efforts dealing with me. They are the same in the service area! Cody has been a Godsend for me since I bought the car. Whenever I need information, he has always been more than happy to provide me with an answer. Each of the RT lots is connected so they have so many more vehicles to choose from as well. I’m coming here 1st for my next car!

I sent a message that I was interested in a used 2019 Kia Optima at this location. Yousef responded to our inquiry within minutes by emailing us a personalized video he just took of the vehicle to give us a better idea of its quality/look. We were impressed by that personal touch and promptness. Yousef was great throughout the process. He helped us figure out a financing plan that matched our needs and answered the many questions I had about the vehicle and the vehicle industry in general. He, along with the rest of the staff, were very friendly and attentive. The car was priced extremely well, and we were able to get through the entire purchasing and paperwork process in about 2.5 hours, which is actually fast for these kinds of things. They even stayed past closing hours to get me in the car that day because my car has broken down completely, and I was in need of the car immediately. A great experience overall.

I have had the oil changed on my van at this location 3 times in the last 3 months. The first time the oil was changed I drove the van for 1500 miles and the oil alarm began going off. I checked the oil and no oil registered on the stick. I inspected under the van and found the oil filter falling off the van. I tightened it myself and the dealership agreed to change the oil for free. Returned and had oil changed. 2 weeks later the oil was not registering on the stick again and engine noise present. Dealership again agreed to change the oil for free. Once I returned they attempted to recharge me for the oil change and recommended additional service. I do not trust them to change the oil at this point and fear they may have damaged the motor by doing it incorrectly the last several times. I will certainly never go back to this location and sadly trust a high school kid working at a jiffy lube more than the dealer.

Before visiting Tonkin Chevrolet, we had narrowed our search down to a different vehicle and dealership. By chance we stopped by, and we were lucky enough to meet Zach Cubbage. We told him we were only looking. He spent hours with us on that first visit, answering questions and helping us understand the Chevy Bolt. When we left he did not pressure us with making an offer. We told him what we were looking for and he would text us when there a vehicle that met our parameters. We went several more times, and when we finally decided to purchase we treated with the upmost respect with courtesy service. So, be sure to stop by Ron Tonkin Chevrolet if you are looking for a car. We love our new Bolt.

So I purchased a 2021 Silverado duramax on 10/31/2023 not even a week into ownership it won’t start or even allow me unlock the doors . Only way to access truck is through on star app. So I am back here on 11/14 /2023 trying to get it fixed . This is the first day I was able to make it down here because I am from out of state so it’s about a 2 and half hour trip one way . It also took me 3 hours to even get ahold of someone at the dealership when it all started. Very unprofessional . I am hoping it gets fixed and I do t have to deal with this place anymore. Most recent update they want me to pay for the repairs and said they can’t fix it today after having me drive down 2 and half hours , and have me sitting and waiting for 6 hours . Complete waste of my time. Well complete day . Only positive is they are going to provide a temp so I can make it home

Revised! Rondo was my salesperson, but Archie and Logan helped to solidify my great experience. For such young people, their knowledge base was amazing and they helped me pick out the perfect car. The only downside was one thing in the finance if you can call it a downshide was that GM gave the dealership 1,000 dollar rebate but they added that 1,000 to my cost first and then subtracted it. I felt that the rebate was just a wash and helped the dealership only. I also realized that customer services ends when you drive the vehicle off the lot. With less than 100 miles on the car electrical system has gone haywire. I contacted the dealership this morning and they told me "call On-Star". They can't help. Wow! After the great service I received from the sales department, to be treated with such disregard afterward is saddening and frustrating.

I made an appointment online to have my back window defroster fixed. When I showed up I was told it would be a couple of days to have it assessed and that was not something I would be able to do unfortunately. My service provider Jacob was very understanding of my situation and was kind enough to have a technician take a look at it that same day and not leave my car with them for the several that was originally expected. I felt like Jacob and the service technician did an amazing job at helping me with my car and I felt like my needs were met. I do have to come back another day to have it actually fixed because they don’t perform back window replacements but I was able to have them set up another day for that to happen as well. I appreciate how I was assisted in getting this all sorted out.

We had an exceptional experience at this car dealership! We had already had an awful experience with another local dealership, with crazy high market adjustments. Ron Tonkin was a breath of fresh air compared to this. From the moment I walked in, Robert was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. I enjoy my experience with the service department at Ron Tonkin Chevrolet. Not only are they incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, but very timely in performing their services. I greatly appreciate their constant updates on the status of my service and the convenient communication via text message, to which they consistently respond promptly. Additionally, the fact that they provide a video diagnosis of the problem adds further value to their exceptional service. I have mixed feelings about having to pay for my last visit. The issue was a known problem address in a service bulletin and where they had to update software and calibrate the braking system to clear a check engine light. I feel Chevy should have covered that. I will not let this matter reflect on the service department.

I brought our truck in to get back window sealed because it was leaking. After picking it up I drove it home I noticed it was driving different. It said coolant level low. The coolant level isn’t low. Ron Tonkin Chevrolet removed 2 fuses . Also my check engine light is on now. I don’t know what else they did to our truck. They knew our warranty was expired so they messed with our truck. It only has 15000 miles on it and is 2020. I called to talk to a manager and they said they would call me back. Never got a call back. Don’t do business with them please. I drove my kids with that truck. And who knows what bad things could have happened. For my family’s safety I can’t even drive the truck. They are doing some shady stuff there. They took advantage of me because I’m a woman.

Customer service was amazing! This was my first time coming here. I had been looking for a new place to take my car since I was taking it elsewhere, where the service was terrible and tried to steep me of hundreds of dollars. My car was bought brand new and I always service it at the dealership so when I moved nothing should've been wrong. Am so happy I found Ron Tonkin Chevrolet! I received a video explaining what was done and was told what they recommend and what would most likely need to be done soon. Never felt pressured to anything extra I needed to do. My wife and I looked around for a truck for weeks, had quite a few bad experiences at all kinds of different dealerships. This dealership made everything super easy and convenient, and it was the only dealership that didn’t make me feel like I was getting screwed over. Anton kept me updated and wasn’t pushy, and overall made the buying experience very smooth. Lacey was very fun to work with and also made everything super easy and smooth. Oh, and the truck is fantastic, can’t wait to put the many miles into it that are coming soon. We will definitely advise anyone looking for a nice truck or car to this dealership first, because even if there’s not a vehicle there for them, at least the experience won’t be a negative one.

Updating this…I purchased a used vehicle in which I had to stop on my way home to purchase new wiper blades. In less than 4k miles I had to get new brakes, pads, and rotors, and I just pulled my cabin air filter to discover that it was so clogged I had to physically pull debris from the vents. I called to get a copy of the warranty I purchased and still have not received that so that I can take advantage of something I’m paying for. Would not advise purchasing a used vehicle from them without physically inspecting yourself. My trust is gone and will never again give them my business.

Good service, but who is in charge of marketing on the showroom floor? Everything is marketed to men. 5 Corvettes and 1 super large SUV? Aren't women great buyers as well? Even the magazines in the waiting room is male oriented. Cigar and entrepreneur magazines. Please realize your turning off a large female market with probably more money to spend on vehicles. Reconsider your showroom layout. Oh, and guy's if you're trying to attract women with a Corvette, I can tell you that you're not going to win over intelligent, rich, successful women, unless they just want to use you..

I'll be frank about my experience. It was bad. Sold a broken car, even as I pointed out issues on the lot and was denied vehemently by the sales people. The sales team was unprofessional and played good cop/bad cop and other used car salesman mind games. The finance manager also didn't return my calls for post sales questions. It cost a ridiculous amount of money in maintenance and repairs before the vehicle was reliable and safe enough to drive. I won't come back to this dealership again.

I’ve been going here for service for nearly ten years with two different, “special needs” cars (a diesel Cruze and a Volt). I don’t often leave perfect reviews, but credit where it’s due. They’ve always treated me well and worked hard to advocate for me for warranty coverage, etc. I’ve never had to fight with them for appropriate warranty coverage like I so often hear happens at many other dealers, and they listen. Most sales people are nice except Logan, just a rude kid. The F&I Jaron is too slow. I almost lost one deal because of him. GS, Andrew and DJ are awesome. Finally, the GM Consistently contributes measurable value to company goals and encourage sales team to success. I enjoyed his sales meetings. I unfortunately, hit something on the highway causing damage to two tires and a little bit to the bumper. I called OnStar and they had my car towed to Ron Tonkin Chevrolet. They were super helpful. Where are the good people in this world that really want honest business. Had an issue with my truck dying randomly and would have to jump start it occasionally, even after replacing the battery. Took it in to Ron Tonkin to see if there was any underlying issues. They couldn’t find any issues. I figured I would still have to pay for the labor that they did. Nolan was able to get the diagnostic fee waived and I was extremely happy with that and the service they provided.

Communication for maintenance/repair was quick and easy from drop-off to quote. Pick-up took too long (I think they did the repair when I showed up, but they had told me it was ready). The person that drove my car up had been talking to their peers for 20 minutes…. Was my car available for that whole conversation? Office space should be updated.

Nolan was great to deal with. Communication was outstanding. I will however not purchase another vehicle from Ron Tonkin. The process and sale of the extended warranty lacked transparency. Purchased my last two vehicles through this company. No more from now on. Competitive dealerships now offer lifetime warranties. Catch up with the times Ron.

Ethan was friendly but the process to get your vehicle repaired is ridiculous. I felt as though my time wasn’t valued. 2-days for a diagnostic and to leave my vehicle for this long for $189 and to replace my transmission fluid another $389? What’s the cost for the actual tune-up I came in for? No thanks. I can’t afford to be here.
