What a great car buying experience! We were looking for first car for a college bound student on a very tight budget. Cody did a fantastic job of listening to us and making our student part of the process. We found a great car that met all our criteria within the first hour. Cody made sure everyone had a chance to drive and felt comfortable with the Decision to purchase. He answered all our questions and even caught a few things we’d missed and made sure they were taken care of without us even having to ask. Even though we were paying in cash, we wanted this to be a learning experience for our student. Cody took the extra time to run a mock financing situation and explain all the details with hints on what to look for and what to avoid. He had some solid advice on what the banks look for in the credit and employment host to offer the best rates. Cody took the time to explain all the additional products offered with the car and, again, provided clear and constructive advice on which ones would be of benefit for the car purchased AND what under what situations our student may want to consider purchasing the other products when buying a car in the future. I wish they taught this stuff as part of the high school curriculum!!… but since they don’t, I’ll continue to recommend my students go to Ron Tonkin and work with Cody. There’s no guarantee the perfect car will be waiting, but if it’s there, Cody will find it and everyone will definitely learn something in the process!

let's start by saying the dealership is beautiful and the cars are nice.. that's about it! I spoke with 3 reps including the floor manager at the time. test drive was like having a back seat driver, and employees could care less about trying to make it right and do what they want. Very limited options were provided and the greed these people have will show through their teeth. I specifically told all sales reps and the manager that I wouldn't be able to purchase the vehicle same day as I was ironing out the logistics of obtaining the rest of the money and they still pulled my credit! This place is a joke and will swindle you for every penny. Bau was extremely rude the entire process and his colleagues he sent out after he left our scheduled appointment were also zero help. Overall I will be doing business with a different Honda dealership to get a new car. If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. I went in knowing I wasn't driving off the lot with a brand new car and so did Bau. Yet he still ran my credit despite me telling him multiple times I wouldn't be able to to purchase the vehicle the same day and left me hanging with an even worse credit score and a sour taste in my mouth from the lies they tell.

For a couple months we were going to multiple dealerships looking for a SUV Hybrid that met our requirements at a price we could afford. Very discouraged because we were not going to pay much over MSRP for “Market Adjustment”. We submitted a quote request via Costco's purchase program. Daniel McKennie and Denise Fahey tag-teamed to respond over text and email. Over a period of a week or two we dialoged so we could get our name on the list to reserve a red CRV Hybrid Sport Touring. Just over a week ago Denise texted with a video for a delivered model that had been reserved by someone else, but that person declined to purchase it. Daniel showed us the car and carefully walked us through all of the features, took us on a test drive, helped us through the myriad of forms, and stayed with us until we drove home at 11:45pm. If you want a relaxed, respectful, transparent, and honest car purchase experience, Ron Tonkin Honda is the dealership to check out. Our purchase experience with Ron Tonkin Honda with Daniel McKennie and Denise Fahay, and the rest of the team, including Tyler (Finance Manager), helped us get the CRV Hybrid Sport Touring in the color we wanted, without demanding a market-adjustment on the purchase price.

1st time I took my Fit to them was for standard maintenance. Told them about tire sensor issue, they said they fixed it but few days later light came up again. Ignored it, because I paid a premium to get it serviced by Ron Tonkin Honda and figured they would’ve told me if serious issue. 2nd time called to describe vent issue, get oil change and get an estimate, they told me $200 to get oil change and get issue taken care of. They were confident 1 hour max, maybe less. I booked with them, and when I show up they tell me it’s actually going to be 6 hours total, and that’s just for the oil change and diagnostic. No idea how much actual vent issue would cost, and after the 6 hours it would be at least 2 more days before they could even schedule something for follow up visit to fix. Lol k. Who can afford this kind of time? Including schlepping over there with the bait and switch phone quote. Tonkin 30 min drive each way for me. Both visits extremely disappointing. Will be taking my Fit elsewhere going forward.

was there for 10 hours they tried sticking me stuff I didn’t want tried making me get a co sign with my credit is good be very careful when you come here know your stuff and know what you like. Tell them what you like and make it known what you can afford because after I told them what I can afford, they tried making me pay 2 to 3 times the amount that I wouldn’t be able to afford after telling them what I could afford with car trading and cash on top for new payment with negative equity wasn’t much negative equity but this place is going to try to get you for everything you’re worth and they’re definitely not worth it. I’ve seen their other dealerships down the road those are very similar. I wouldn’t recommend this area for anybody. They’re just in it for the money, not for the people, and evidently they don’t listen to what you say because I told him what I could afford, and they went way higher.

The staff was very quick to help us set up a test drive and get us information about the car we were interested in. Our salesman, Peter, was very friendly and worked with us to help create a deal that would work for us and would help us get a better value for our trade and price on the car. He was excellent to work with. Financing was overall easy and we ended up with a good rate despite some initially surprisingly bad offers. My only real complaint is that they we didn't know that they require all cars sold to include an anti-theft program subscription for at least 1 year. A lot of dealers offer this as an option, but they required it which was an unexpected extra $500. At the end of the day though, the staff was friendly, building was nice, and we were able to get a decent deal on a great car.

We went to 2 dealerships before coming into Ron Tonkin Honda. Ron Tonkin was the only environment that made us feel comfortable, and they even offered us beverages! Huge props to Bao who immediately called us when shipment came in!! Cheng came in on his day off, and was so helpful in the buying process. His background knowledge in Toyota really helped us weigh out the differences between the cars we wanted. He laid out every step, answered all our enticing questions with grace. We were on at least 3 other waiting lists. Super excited to be driving our new hybrid! Thank you to Bao, Cheng, Jefferey, and all others involved in this process- It truly was a team effort!! My toddler loves her new car!

Good experience: my sales rep, Kylor, stayed in regular touch with me, as I wanted a high-demand/limited supply vehicle. Kylor never once tried to dissuade me from my choice to steer me toward something more readily available; he respected my decisions. And he’s just a delightful person! Once the vehicle came in, he thoroughly demo’d the features before and during the final test/acceptance drive. F&I was efficient and respectful - when I declined all the various optional coverage options, they didn’t press it. I was further impressed overall by the dealership’s overall attention to detail: a thorough inspection of the new vehicle before concluding the sale. And cleaning touch-up .

I'm so glad I had Peter to help me!! He was so kind and helpful. I came into the building braced to deal with the typical misogynistic attitude but he wasn't at all that way. I've had horrible experiences in the past so was dreading it. We need more guys like him on the job. He even said "no pressure" while we were talking. So if you want to be treated like an adult and not some "little girl" Peter is your guy. I also had a great experience with the woman who did the financial side as well. She was friendly and helpful. We had a good conversation and she said she likes it when customers stop by to say hi later too. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with them both.

Overall great experience. Kylor was patient and explained the various things we had questions about. Overall I’d pick him as a salesperson if I had to purchase another vehicle and Ron Tonkin Honda had that vehicle available at a competitive price. One issue was only learning about the ELO GPS after we had determined to proceed with the sale which I’d rather have heard about before, while learning about the vehicle’s features. Experience with finance side was just ok, both due to the aforementioned ELO GPS as well as aggressively pushing an extended warranty. I understand their motive to upsell versus my motive to come away close to advertised purchase price.

I sold my leased vehicle back to Honda and was told they would handle all the paperwork with the DMV. Fast forward 7 weeks and I received a speeding ticket in the mail because one of their employees was driving the vehicle with the plates and title still registered in my name. I am now having to deal with the Portland Police Department, DMV, and the state of Oregon to try and get this resolved. I haven’t been able to contact anyone in their management team to get peace of mind that my issue will get resolved. Like they say, you can’t ever trust a car dealership. I would not do business with Ron Tonkin again after this experience.

Highly recommend Ron Tonkin Honda and Niketo. They were the only Honda dealership near me (there’s about 7 or so) that went out of their way to retrieve the exact model and interior/exterior color for a Passport that I wanted. I refused to pay for a new car without having exactly what I wanted and they absolutely delivered - literally brought it to my house and went over all the features. Checked in for several days afterward to make sure I was happy with everything. Great service and they also worked with me on price to make sure I was happy with what I was paying. I researched a number of cars on-line and wanted to buy a car from a dealer with a good reputation. The buying process was pretty smooth after I made an appointment to test drive a used 2019 Subaru. Great buying experience with Ron Tonkin Honda and particularly with our sales consultant Niketo Lynch. My daughter just recently bought her first car. Nik was helpful in showing us the exact car we were interested in, provided useful information and didn't waste our time. When it came time to complete the purchase everything was as expected with no last minute additions or changes. Other service and car care products were offered, but without any sort of hard sale or gamesmanship. Overall a very positive experience with no drama.

Car I purchased from these guys has a problem, but the service department is being slippery and uncooperative. I'm stuck trying to find someone else to diagnose the issue, probably out of my own pocket despite warranty. I also found undocumented damage to the bumper, despite it being a certified pre-owned car. Over and over in all my dealings with these guys, they blame one of their other coworkers for mixups and misunderstandings. Will revise this rating once qualified mechanic gives me the final diagnosis.

Horrible car lot, told them I needed a safe car for my family they sold my a car the has multiple things wrong with it. Charged Me extra for warranties and now they want another 1000 to fix the car. I contacted them 2 days after purchasing and told them what was wrong with the car and I don't feel safe driving it. Now they don't want to help me. Completely unacceptable now I'm stuck with a 30000 dollar junk car thats only worth 10000$ they are over price and puts their customers at risk with dangerous cars.

I received a letter from Ron Tonkin offering an awesome deal on a trade in for an upgraded Honda Accord. I was hesitant at first because it seemed too good to be true. Well upon arrival at the dealership, Noe was awesome in showing us around and taking good care of us. We were in and out in 2.5 hours. This included trading in my car and buying a new 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid L. We LOVE the new car and especially the better gas mileage. Also we were excited to be Noe’s first car sale!

Never have a loaner car available. Was told extra $2500 warranty covered repairs n parts that actually were not covered once repaired were needed. Warranty was not put into the computer on my profile correctly. Prices if oil changes are continuously fluctuating from $45 up to $89 when it other locations, they stay the same price throughout the entire year. Very dissatisfied with Honda and because of this, I sold my car and will never be a Honda customer going forward.

Extremely unprofessional. They lied about being able to fix my car later that afternoon which meant I had to leave it there for a week while I went out of town. I go to pick it up and they lost the key. I had to reschedule 2 different meeting to be able to pick it up. No one apologized or offered any explanation for why they lost my key in an area of pretty bad crime for Portland. They gave me a new key and told me not to worry about it. Not going back here again.

Just finished the purchase of an Odyssey van after attempting to secure one from another dealer. I worked with Cody during the entire purchase, from the moment I stepped through the door to the step-by-step guide on the van's features before I drove away. Really great experience here buying a rare model. Saw each individual at one desk, in-person. Salesperson (Cody) was an excellent help and low-pressure while still highlighting options (ask for him). Finance and GM guys were equally chill and negotiated fairly. They were also welcoming to my family. Communication after the sale was stellar. I’d come back to buy again and ask to work with the same folks. Excellent experience; easily 10/10.

Yesterday I drove home my second ever new car. I’m still in shock at how beautiful it is. Forty-one years ago I bought my first new car at the very same place, and both of them were Hondas. While the first one had no frills, not even a radio, this one has more bells and whistles than I may figure out how to use!
