If I could leave a worse review I would. Do not hire this company. I called Roto-Rooter when we had a leak in the upstairs neighbor's bathroom coming into our apartment. They came, assessed the issue, gave us a very high quote but were available to take care of it right then and we needed to mitigate further damage. The plumbing fix was fine, the problem was what happened next. They brought in machines to dry and dehumidify the ceiling beams. The technician installed them and left. A few days later I heard water dripping and saw it coming out of my bathroom into the kitchen. I went into the bathroom and it turned out they had not connected the water drain line to the drying unit and water had filled the catchment tray and was flooding the bathroom and now out into the kitchen. I immediately turned the machines off and began to soak up the mess in hopes of stopping it from damaging the unit below. Thank god I was working from home. I called them and explained the situation and was told I would get a call back from a manager. The call never came. After that I texted the technician directly and told him what happened and asked him to come get the machines. He confirmed that the machines were improperly installed and that had caused the problem. Did the company apologize for their negligence? No, they gave me a bill for $1,827.61 for "their services" (incredible). This was an additional charge for running the incorrectly installed dehumidifier mind you, not the plumbing work itself. I called to contest it, saying that the services were obviously not rendered and in fact, would have caused more damage had I not been home to stop the flooding. They responded by putting a lien on my house. I'm not kidding. This is not a noble or trustworthy business. In my line of work, if I mess something up, I take accountability for it and I certainly don't charge my customer for making a bad situation worse. Truly mind-blowing.

STAY AWAY. Total sham. I woke up one morning in mid-September 2023 to find a small water stain on the ceiling of my dining room right under a shower on our 2nd floor. Called around and Roto Rooter came the soonest. Their "plumber" inspected our shower for less than 5 minutes, and proclaimed that the leak was due to a crack in our shower tile. Didn't open anything up, didn't inspect anything other than glance at the shower tile. He left and then 2 Roto Rooter technicians convinced my wife to file an insurance claim and open up the roof to dry everything out. It was a small leak. Next, Roto Rooter put up 2 huge dryers and had us leave them on for 5 days for a small leak! Kept canceling and not coming to remove the dryers. Finally they removed them and I had a contractor come by and he took a look and right away said it's not the tile. Ended up opening up the drywall in our bathroom and found the leaking pipe after doing a test of the shower. Roto Rooter charged us $250 for the plumber's "inspection" and $2445 for the "labor and supplies" to dry a very small leak over 5 days, which was totally overkill. My homeowners insurance deductible was $1000, and basically everything Roto Rooter did was totally unnecessary. We should have never called them and just waited for our contractor to come by. Wasted so much time and money. Totally ridiculous. We asked for a refund for our $250 for their "plumber" and they denied. Very poor customer service, and very unethical company that performs shoddy and sketchy work. Felt like they took advantage of us, and felt like a scam. Save your time and money and never, ever use Roto Rooter.

I spoke to two separate associates who stated there was no fee to conduct a mold test. I asked about the process and was very thorough with my questions since this property is being sold in the next week and I needed someone reliable who could go out to the property asap. Both associates confirmed someone would be at the property the next day to see if it was mold or not. From there I would get a quote for remediation, if they noted it was mold. The two hour window came and no one showed up, I called and they said someone would show up in the next hour. Mind you, the property is vacant and someone had to be there for that window. An hour later, I get a call saying no one’s going to the property because they require a minimum of $2,500 for someone to go out. This is extremely disappointing and I explained this is not what I was informed. This person did not care to clarify why my appointment was now being cancelled. Will definitely not recommend this business as no one seems to know what’s going on. It’s unfortunate some businesses are not professionals.

Rogellio arrived on time and parked the vehicle at rear door of dwelling as requested. He was professional in appearance and candor. He walked around the exterior of the property while discussing the technical details of the job. We entered the dwelling and he made an observation of where he would begin his work. He safely unloaded his equipment from the truck with the ramp. and down the dwelling stairs to the lower level. He was meticulous in attention to removing the expansion cap on the drain pipe and the cutting blade tools that he used in the performance of his duties. He prepared the billing statement with all charges as discussed and agreed earlier. I was very glad and satisfied with the work he did today. Keep hiring great people who are meticulous in attention to detail and exude great customer service on the front line and who are efficient in the work that they do.

Was charged 200 dollars for someone, a “professional”, to clear out a blockage. He was unable to get even his camera more than 5-6 ft into the drain. Left with the advice we should tear into our crawl space to add a clean out, that starts at like 6500 bucks. We could use the 200 towards that. Give me a break. I rented a camera and a router from Home Depot, managed to get the camera 50 ft down the same drain the “professional” couldn’t get into. I even was able to get the router down all the way to the main, 95 ft or so. Pretty sure I solved the issue and definitely got some towel or something out of the drain. It now works as it should. I want a refund back, very disappointed. They did show up quickly and the same day, but paid them for nothing.

Great service! The prices may seem high but trust me when I say, your basement is flooding because your pipes are clogged, Roto-Rooter scheduled same day and came within 4 hours after the call. Daniel was my technician. He's really approachable, funny, had great customer service skills, and hard working values! Daniel is very experienced and treats your home as he would his own, if not moreover. He will not start the process until hes sure where the problem is and has complete confidence in his resolve. Had no issues keeping me informed throughout the process and made sure I understood what was happening throughout. I asked for a price range and he hit the mark, minus the coupon I provided. Would definately recommend in an emergency!

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced from a vendor. I expected soo much more from a reputable business. The tech put one toliet back in it's original place in my home and the other toliet he left in my shower stall. I tried all week to find out why they did not show up the next day as promised and why every time I called I was put on an eternal hold. The customer service rep argued with me and would not hear my concerns. Corporate choose to side with the techs and did not believe my side. Go with a smaller company when it comes to your plumbing needs. Roto Rooter figure there is not need to treat the customer right because they are such a BIG company. BIG company with HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

We have used Roto-Rooter for years and have been very satisfied with the work and service people. This time was no exception! Rogelio our serviceman did such a great job. We are so impressed! I have owned homes for 36 years and he is the best I have seen. Yes if course he did a fantastic job in a timely manner but more importantly he listened and discussed options. He took into account that his company was here last week doing a big expensive job and found an answer to today's problem that was very reasonable. On top of that he was extremely kind and respectful. Also very clean after he finished. I would recommend this business and highly recommend Rogelio!

The technician was extremely friendly and informative about the causes of our plumbing problems. The timing a bit off on day 1 because my residence followed work at a commercial facility. The gentleman still worked until almost 9pm. With the sewer line fixed and only the utility sink left he returned for day 2 on Saturday at 4pm or so. All the work was completed by 5:30 pm. All in all, I wish I could provide a rating of over achieving. In the process of doing the jetting, we found that the last outside clean out pipe was not connected to the sewer line allowing room and debris to enter. We could not be more satisfied!

For a problem that sprang up relatively suddenly, Roto-Rooter was able to assist us same day! Hecto (sp?) of the RC16296I-Chicago branch was efficient, pleasant, and communicated expectations well. Luckily, whatever parts were required he had on hand, so there was absolutely no "waiting" while the job was being done. He kept us informed every step of the process, was extremely detail-oriented, and delivered impressive results faster than quoted! Great, painless experience overall. On-site CC Payment was easy, cleanup was a cinch, and we were back to normal within the hour! Highly recommend.

The technician was really nice but the service was really expensive. The service was cartridge faucet replacement and it cost me $775 where the average cost online is between $65 and $220. Even if the company charges above avairage it shouldn't be more than 3 times more. It was during the weekend and I didn't have time to call around since the water was running but the company's website state that they don't charge extra for nights and weekends. The technician finished quickly in about 1hr or so but I am not happy with the price at all. I will not call this company again.

Very fast and professional technician who was patient and polite with all my questions. The low score is because the company has a policy of not servicing water heaters beyond their warranty, and there was no evaluation of the water heater besides looking at it and telling me it was too old for them to work on. They could have told me that on the phone when I called for the service, so I could save the $90 charge. The tech kindly gave me a small discount. Otherwise it would have been closer to $100. That said, I wouldn't have booked the service if I knew their policy.

The communication is terrible; I've been told at 12 pm that the service will get to me in 1 h. After that I call them 4 times and unfortunately the same answers... the technician still in another job and will be delay.. at 5 pm i call them again and they said tomorrow morning.. Thought they were a nation company and they can t keep a promise on hours.. set the expectation is the most important part.. they maybe need more training on that. So, anytime you call them, make sure you calculate extra 5-6 hours or even the next day. So disappointed!

I’ve used roto rooter in the past and had good experiences until recently. I reached out on 8/27 about an issue of water leakage in my basement, someone came out and told me that it would need 2 more people to do the job, waited and didn’t receive a call, called again and on 8/31 someone came out but nothing was done and was told I’ll receive a call. As of today, no one has contacted me about the leakage/pipe repair. It’s made us feel like our project wasn’t worth their time and they had better projects to work on.

Called a local plumber who couldn’t get my main sewer line unclogged after only working on it for less than 20 min and left me with an enormously expensive estimate which would involve digging up my lawn. Roto-Rooter came out and after an hour successfully cleared the line and provided recommendations on how to maintain a clear line and also suggested we relocate the clean out to a more accessible area on the line within the home. The service he provided was impeccable. I am a very satisfied Customer.

What a great company to do business with! We had a "surprise" plumbing issue this morning, and tried Roto-Rooter for the first time. Azzi showed up within 30 minutes and after a very thorough job, our drains are all clean and running smoothly. While he was here, other support members of his team stopped by and introduced themselves and made sure he had enough help. Azzi was just wonderful and we are so pleased to have found plumbers we trust. Final billing was fair and affordable.

Rotor -rooter is awesome provided same day service. John and Anthony provided great customer service, kept me in the loop about the issue at hand. Also advised me of what products I should avoid to keep this from happening again. I am very pleased with my service *Update* This time Joshua came out. He came promptly and worked quickly to complete the work. He was pleasant cooperative and did a through job. Overall very pleased with the service. Would highly recommend them!

Mathew was awesome! He was on time and he came with a positive attitude. He went from the problem in the upstairs bathroom to the plumbing problem in the basement back to back. He completed both tasks in a timely manner. Upon completion he also ran the water for a while to make sure that the problem was corrected in both areas. It was also a reasonable price! It feels good when your home is in good hands. I’ll be using this company for my house from now on. Thank you !

The tech Anthony I had was good. Nice and professional. The call center gave false information as we wanted camera services and found out too late that they don’t that in Wisconsin . We called early evening and said be here in a few hours. Hours later the company canceled services. They came mid morning the next day. (Evening I didn’t have much of a basement flood. Next day it was totally flooded). They did give me a discount but had to ask for it.

The plumber who came, Heto, was awesome. Such a nice man. Came in on Black Friday. They were the ones able to schedule something so quickly. He came in, wore something over his shoes. Put down tarp to minimize mess. Cut a hole in the ceiling to find the leak, replaced what needed to be replaced. He braved Black Friday crowds to get the replacement parts. Very pleasant experience. Communicated well with me and with the owner of the unit.

The rep who came out was incredibly nice and respectful. Only issue was the price point was very high. All that was needed was replacement parts in the toilet tank and the price point was $600. I went and bought the kit for under $75, watched a 5 minute YouTube video and was able to fix myself. Again service was great, but more realistic price points would be a huge benefit in the future. I ended up not using your services.

Needed to make sure our sump pump was functioning appropriately and have our drain system rooted so it would stop overflowing. They were able to schedule us right away and were on-time, professional, and helpful. First person did not charge anything to come take a look and immediately put in a ticket for rooting service which came by in a couple of hours. Overall cost was $525 and no more water with a 6-month guarantee.

Had an emergency backup in the basement bathroom on a Sunday and called for service. The operator was able to take my info. Joe Gleason (I highly recommend and will request for future clean outs) and Field supervisor Bob Kroll explained everything at a level I could understand and make a decision on proceeding with service. We are satisfied with today’s service and the cost for the service was good. Thank you again.

Absolutely wonderful service. Our technician Christian was wonderful and gave us great advice to keep our kitchen from clogging up again. Well just know ROTO ROOTER came through for me my sink was backing up into my laundry room . I called another company and was stood up twice that's when I call your company. This was the second time that I've used Roto-Rooter in the last 5 years and both times I received wonderful service at a reasonable price. Even though I had two different people come out during these two visits that were 5 years apart, both young men were very friendly and professional and effectively unclogged my kitchen sink. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Online scheduling was great and even scored a same day appointment! The technician assigned to my job was personable and knowledgeable. The 4 star rating is for the undisclosed, astronomical $400 per hour rate! At least I had a $75 coupon. I just couldn’t see blowing the $99 service call fee to search around. Definitely an expensive lesson.

Sent a tech in a timely fashion to fix the sewer gas smell from my toilet. Patricio, the tech explained all scenarios that could be wrong very thoroughly. It ended up being a best case scenario as far as cost and was fixed within the hour. I've used Roto rooter in the past and am very comfortable with their service.

We had two services as a result of our sewer problem. First plumber guy arrived quickly, was super nice, and worked fast. The mold/clean up crew were all also very cool, nice guys.
