Food is great!! Everytime, I eat there I am never dissapointed. The only reason that I gave it 4/5 stars, was because of the following... 1) I ordered by phone for a pick up, go there 30minutes later and my order was wrong because the staff is always chit chatting never taking their job serious. And they f***ed up my order royally. 2) Walking in there is like walking into a Spanish novella... you never know what is going to happen... Either You get ignored because the the girl working the counter wants to play putty-puerca and flirt her ass off with any Julio, Juan , or Pedro. Forgetting she is on the clock. Or she has hormone monster syndrome and thinks she is allowed to give you service with an attitude. Not to mention the guy thats distracted and not paying attention when you are ordering and you have to eye him like a hawk to make sure everything is right, it's like a bad case of short term memory loss that needs correcting making me feel like I am participating in Finding Dory. "FOCUS! (There are good staff members! Don't get me wrong. It's just some days I don't want to be the only level headed adult in the room. I would like to order a good ass f***ing meal and not have to remind and repeat.)

The beers special is nice. The place overall has a nice welcoming but laid back ambiance. The prices were a bit overpriced for the place, location, service and menu. They doesn't have the best selection of beers but it is ok. Roy's in my opinion is more like a bar and lounge type of place, that wants to be a restaurant but doesn't offer a good variety of dishes nor drinks. Unluckily, they have poor service, extremely dirty bathrooms and a lot of room for improvement. And thankfully they had karaoke night, because the place was boring before the people started singing. I'm not the best singer, but I love karaokes and the host was very warm, friendly and welcoming, which I liked. I looked at a couple's dish and it didn't seem to be fresh, so I went to the Papa John's pizzeria that is -thanks to God- just a few steps away.

Visited two days in a row, First day Food and drinks where great!!! Service was excelllent!! Second day unfortunately was not good. The food was still great but the SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE EXTREMELY HORRIBLE. I was ready ask for a refund and walk out without anything due the service. The man taking my order was horrible. I spoke to him in Spanish and English and he still acted as if he didn't know what I was talking about, mend you I was ordering TACOS, he keep saying we don't have this or that and than another person would say yes we do or give me what I was asking for. I should get the same treatment anytime I go in but I guess because it was 30 mins b4 closing they didn't really want to work. Sad because the food can be great but if service is not good it makes the food BAD. Hope the service gets corrected.

Grubhub order. Now this meal was about 20 minutes late (after already waiting an hour) but sometimes I can forgive a late meal when it's really good...but this place did not serve good food. I called the restaurant to ask if my order was on its way and they were nice so I didn't have a negative experience with their customer service. Now for the food. I ordered maduros and pernil. The maduros were too stiff and not tasty and the pernil was too salty. The rice and beans that came with the meal were the only highlight of that whole experience but they still weren't worth it. Some of the beans were under-cooked but the rice managed to be cooked to how it normally should be. It was a real waste of money. If you like sub-par food, please, order from here as much as you like.

This places food is so good. But they lack organization and they never read the orders. Always forget something never give the sauce u pay for never give utensils. Never close the packaging correctly so there is rice all over the bag. It’s horrible. But today was the absolute worst never again. Look at this dried up mess they sent me today. Literally crumbling. Gross. Save ur money this place is trash. On top of that I paid for extra mojito sauce as I ordered a large family meal (chicharron rice maduro salad 2 liter beef patties tres Leche etc) paid 2 extra dollars for the sauce. Not a single sauce in the bag. Not one. They suck.

I order oatmeal every morning for my boys for about 3 years, on fridays and sundays they ate here with their dad as well. I ordered 3 lunch specials and a chicken soup for my co workers and myself just to have my co worker traumatize bc there was a roach on her beans. I let the worker know and she contacted the manager and nothing was done! She took my number down and I never got a call or a refund on my money for the food I got that day. I was a loyal customer until this happen! I’m really disgusted with how the manager handle the situation and how they just have roaches lying around our food and never even apologize!!

The delivery service is ridiculous. I ordered on GrubHub almost two hours ago and was given an estimated delivery time. I called 20 minutes after they said my order would be here, and she told me the delivery guy was 5 minutes away. I called 20 minutes later after he wasn’t here, and she told me he was “down the block”. I called AGAIN, 20 minutes later and the workers were going back and forth in Spanish until the DELIVERY GUY...picks up and tells me he hasn’t left yet...service wasn’t good. Food is okay, it arrived cold.

Honestly, Roy’s Restaurant can smd. Horrible service. The venue is disgusting. And they will spit in your food. DO NOT go here. Instead go to the Sanbra African Reataurant across the street. They fed me well. I waited 8 hours for my order and it never came. They won’t understand you clearly and they won’t tend to their customers’ hunger. They are very rude and the whole restaurant should be shut down. You may think this is a mean review but it’s not. I am just looking out for my fellow bronxites.

Hate to say it and I’m not one to write reviews but this place is extremely prejudice to anyone who doesn’t look Hispanic. Place was packed and they decided to send someone over to search my family and I, but searched no one else at the establishment. They were extremely rude and showed no interest in serving us it’s sad right in my neighborhood to think a place like this is open. Goodluck to anyone else who decides to go here.

The service by Anna was on point. Spent $150. Ten minutes after I paid the bill, and my lady was enjoying the music the owner Roy told us we had to leave because he had other customers waiting. Meanwhile others spending less on hookah were not rushed. I asked him that if I was to spend another $150 that I would not have to leave the table ? He had no response. Unless you are willing to spend all night. I would NOT recommend this place. Very bad area as well.

It was ok. Ordered a whole chicken combo with a large white rice and beans, salad, soda for takeout. They put everything together right in front of you like everywhere else. The food was...good...not spectacular but...good. Price was pretty good so no complaints there. It's also right on the corner so its easy to find.

Roy's is an excellent restaurant in terms of both atmosphere and food. The restaurant has a section for quick take-out food at a cheaper price and a sit-down area for a more formal meal. The entrees on the menu are around the $20 range which is excellent for the large portion sizes. The food itself was delicious and very flavorful. Expect to leave feeling very full! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I’ve been here multiple times food & atmosphere is very much enjoyable; downfall is the employees, they make it very much known that they don’t enjoy their job & have treated myself and my husband very rudely. I’ve also witness them disrespectfully talk about another customer in Spanish (in which the customer didn’t understand) due to her having to return for the pasteles THEY forgort in her order.

Prices are very good service is amazing here but they deffinately need to have more comfortable places to be seated at since there is barely any space to even dance might as well have better seats not those long tall seats. Please note that this is only at night when it turns into like this mini club i have not went there during the day.

The worse place I have ever been in my 48 yeara of life....I just wanted to dance and drink and use the bathroom. By the time I came out the bathroom. We were told that we needed it to buy a bucket of beers or stand by the bar for drinks...we were escorted by security and made us pay $15 for a sip of Henny.....

Racist business. Racially profiled 3 combat veterans. We were in the establishment for about 30 minutes ordered drinks and all. Security guard decides to randomly asks to search us in at the bar. No one else in the establishment got searched and the manager told them not to. Felt racially profiled so we left and won’t be back again. 0/10 recommend this place.

Okay service is bad the girls that work here don't service right they should see if your drinks are going down should be on top of costumers asking if they want anything drinks nice and cold but customer service bad they so busy drinking on there own and smoking hookah on the side they have they own little spot on the side instead of attending to customers

I ordered a whole baked chicken with rice and beans, a side of sweet plantains, two fried pork chops and a salad. The food was extremely oily and poorly seasoned. The sweet plantains tasted old and expired. The only food item that was okay to eat was the salad. I tossed the majority of the order...Total waste of money, especially with the price I paid.

Horrible! Rubber pancakes, mystery meat sausage, B.L.T is mostly L.T. and barely any B. Chunky, flavorless mangu. Horrible customer service. I was overcharged and when I complained, I was told that the price couldn't be changed in the computer. I was overcharged $4. If the food were any good I would have let it go but alas, that was not the case!

NO STARS, my cuban SANDWICH swam over from cuba, and stopped to "cop" in HAVANA(they make FABULOUS cuban sandwiches) by the time I got it home that MF'ER was on life support and pan handling..most of the ingredients got out near Florida....like my wife says: "you get what you pay for". $10, for garbage! Horrible place. They have lots of hidden fees. They make you pay 15% tip mandatorily and even charge you service fees for nothing. Never going back there again. I also feel they racially profile customers based on my exchange with one of the guys there. I wouldn't recommend at all.

I ordered beef stew. It was so salty and no flavor. Also paid for avocados which they didnt include, and the bananas were disgusting. Honestly this food was barely edible. I never write reviews but the food was so awful I had to. Also the reviews are inflated, there's a dude that writes "great spanish food" over and over.

The food here is delicious. The staff is very cordial and knowledgeable about what they have to offer. Drinks are good. Hookah service and price is reasonable. I especially enjoy the presentation of the dishes once they arrive. Great environment and atmosphere. Management is also on point with customer service.

I went on a Monday for drinks only. My margaritas were very nice (served from out of a machine). I noticed everyone else was just smoking hookahs. It needs a little touching up - a bit outdated. It's in my neighborhood, so it was a last-minute convenience.

I've been ordering from Roy's in uber eats. The food quality it's always on point. Always fresh, super tasty, big portions and the $$ it's right. For those who be looking for some good Spanish food and are a little skeptical about where to order from (like me) this it's the place you MUST try.

I been in my neighborhood for ten years Many restaurants in the area. Today I ordered a Quesadilla Which is a Mexican dish. This place clearly do not know how that looks. Dominican restaurant should stay in their lane no sauce no dip . This poor representation of Mexican food Roy's do better

It depends what you order at this place. Read the menu carefully I ordered a quesadilla and ended up getting one with Maduros inside and a bunch of other non-quesadilla items. Even when they fixed it, the cheese tasted weird. This place has good shrimp mofongo and live singers very often.

Went Saturday night , if you're not Dominican or into typical Dominican music, don't go. Requested a song to the dj and he never played it.. also no english music at all. Hookah was really bad, asked the hookah boy to change it and he got mad. Drinks were horrible. Would not go back.

I had a very enjoyable meal at Roy's restaurant!! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Authentic food in a fun atmosphere!! The staff was courteous and professional. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends!!!

I went to eat here with my kids and it was embarrassing because where they told us to sit was like a night club with loud music we had to walk out. Their should be a section that people could sit without the music being so loud. The rice and oxtail was delicious.

Used to be good. Now They forget items in orders and the delivery drivers act like they cant take the elevator and bring the food up to your door. Then have an attitude when you do. Won’t be ordering from them anymore ✌️ the salmon was disgusting (picture below)

This is a Dominican restaurant that serves drinks and hookah. There's a DJ at night and turns into a night club. It's a great alternative to a club because it has all it's benefits without the price tag. Also great half naked waitresses serving the customers1

First time coming here for a birthday party, we were in the "vip". And the attention was great, we were there for hours. Bad part is we were 10 people in there and we barely fit. But its ok. We enjoyed the time there.

Service was horrible and charged us 3$ for a bottle of water and 3$ for a can of soda They did not tell us the prices and they where not on the menus. We did not find out the prices of our drinks until we got the check. Would not recommend.

The service is some of the worst I've seen, my waitress seems to not care how were doing and to get her attention is almost impossible! The food was decent at best but not worth the bad service. Definitely not coming back, ever...

Salsa Monday music is great. As for the hookah smoking should be outside. No ventilation felt. Should expand dance spot. I would consider going again just for the music only.

Great food. Pastelon is on point. They only make it on certain days so you have to call ahead and ask. Their roast pork beats El Bohio in my opinion.
