I had abdominal surgery a little over a year ago in the Lois Hole Women's Hospital. It was exploratory surgery, so I didn't know what kind of news I'd hear when I woke up (cancer was complete removed, cancer had spread, my bowels/colon had to be removed, full hysterectomy, I was going to die, etc). The staff were AMAZING. My surgery team were so lovely and calming while I was panicking and bawling my eyes out, and the nurses were all so kind and patient and compassionate through my 2 night stay. The facilities were new and clean, I didn't feel like I was in an old Soviet-era dirty hospital like how the rest of the RAH seems. The food was kinda nasty, but that's because they were aiming for the all-important post surgery bowel movement, so I understand. I am forever thankful for the amazing team of surgeons and nurses at the Lois Hole Women's Hospital for how they care for and show love to their patients. (And bonus... when I woke up after the surgery, I found out that the 3 large cancerous masses that had shown up in all the imaging and tests and that Dr's could physically feel by pushing on my abdomen had DISAPPEARED.... all that was left was a single fibroid, smaller than any of the three large tumours they were expecting to find. Thank God... literally!!)

I was originally at Westlock for an ECG Test because I was having a Cardioversion Proceedeer at Alexander Hospital the following week but my Arrhythmia was going off the charts the Nurse brought me to Emergency, they tried to get my heart to slow down, I said to them I go through this off and on, where my medications work for awhile then I have episodes like this. So by Ambulance they took me to Alexander Hospital where I was admitted for 1 week as my Arrhythmia was slowing down and the swelling in my legs went down from access weight of built up fluid. The Nurses and Doctors treated me really good answered all questions I had and educated me on what medications are for what, I am still trying to remember what med is for what. But I do not have the greatest memory but I am getting familiar with them. Thank you to all the Staff including Doctors for making sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. Your Hospitality was above and beyond.

i had an appointment yesterday for my ultrasound.waited for 3hrs because obviously they were super busy, the RN who took my blood pressure were telling me they were. short staffed. but she was super nice and friendly, except for this lady who did my ultrasound, her name was Linda, A blonde old lady not even smilling when she pick me up at the front.i am 36weeeks pregnant, having a hard timebto walk and she told me to followed her,, she walk so fastso inconsiderate… so she did the ultrasound, more or less for one hour, went to call the doctor and came back so upset, she said she needs more photos,(the doctor) rolling her eyes i honestly felt bad, so she did another ultrasound, went back to see the doctor and just left, the doctor were even waiving to her but she ignored her and left. i mean, if she’s not happy of what she’s doing, then resign! worst day ever! go to hell grumpy old LINDA!!!

Guys need to get into 2022 with your parking. Holy! Edit* Let's talk about your wheelchair situation. First and foremost it is NOT my responsibility as a new dad or patient in this hospital to be concerned about your wheelchair shoetage. My wife had a C section here and trying to get a wheelchair for her to see our baby. "30mins max" I was told by the RUDE black haired lady at the Robbins Pavillion entrance. So we get 30 mins in the NICU to see our new baby girl. How sweet, thoughtful and caring. Thanks RAH you've been awesome to us. Sarcasm intended.

Doctors and Nurses are suppose to help patients navigate their illness and, help them find solutions to the problem. Not be the cause of it by driving fear and woreti to them. Especially a pregnant woman. We come to you for help and, professional mediacal advice not just to scare the bejesus out of us and push pills down our throats, after the first meeting. Where is the humanity and compassion in the nurses and doctors today.I hope none of you end up on the otherside of the table. Awful first experience. No help at all...

My wife gave birth to our daughter her on Christmas Eve. All the nurses and doctors were very kind, patient, supportive and I would even say loving. They must take care of hundreds of babies in a day, and the sacrifices they make day and night because they're working on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day (and all the other holidays). Yet, everyone of them were very gentle and patient. Helped us feel warmly supported and cared for us very well. God bless nurses and doctors and hospital staff. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The waiting time is crazy for booked appointments. Waited for over one hour and half ++to get the ultrasound done. Was almost going crazy and it’s difficult for a pregnant woman to sit for that long. Plus, the parking price is too expensive so be prepare to keep adding to your time as you will be waiting here for quite long time. They need to act professional and stop making their clients wait for that long

Nice facility, doctors and nurses are nice and welcoming except an asian nurse at the reception. She screams at everyone and talks down to people, I have never seen such a rude person at a public health facility. I would have given 5 stars but cut down to 3 due to her behavior. Management should transfer her somewhere she does not have to deal with public.

My wife gave birth to our baby in this hospital. We are super happy with the nurses and staff. They are very attentive, kind and professional! We are very grateful to Mary our nurse in labour and delivery. She did an exceptional job! Very kind, and positive attitude and patience! Outstanding job Mary! Thank you!

We go here to have my father's pacemaker checked at the Cardiac Clinic. The facility is very good and the staff are friendly. The only problem I have with the place is that the parking is very poor. I spent half an hour driving around and around last week to find a park spot. It's ridiculous

  • Nichole Baerg

The staff are very courteous and friendly. Locating the hospital was easy but parking? What a nightmare and very expensive. Having to wait 3 hours over your scheduled appointment time is a problem. Not sure if it's a staffing problem or management problem but either way it's a problem.

My wife gave birth to our first baby here in fall of 2020, the medical staff that served us were outstanding. As some complications arose in our baby's delivery the doctors, nurses and NICU teams performed excellently. We were blessed and grateful.

These nurses in the pace maker dept are just horrible. They are rude, inconsiderate, nasty and have no sense of humanity at all. When a client is scared and confused they have no compassion at all!!!!! Just Horrible!!!!

1230pm appointment waited until 2pm. For pregnant women we need to have a full bladder for ultrasound, and you expecting us to sit there with a full bladder for hrs?! This is inhumane.

  • C Erickson

Spent 20 days here. Excellent care, even at times, they were lacking in proper staffing levels. Good food, friendly.
