This review is passed on SERVICE only! Not such a great experience on a rainy day. I had plans to stay in the house all day but became hungry around 4:30 pm. At this time I decided to call the restaurant to see if they were busy and if they still sold the imposter burger as this option was not available on the carry-out menu. The lady who answered the phone informed me that the establishment was not busy. Once I arrived I decided to dine-in instead of placing a carry-out order. Upon entry there wasn't anyone at the hostess stand which was fine with me and there were only 4 people sitting at the bar in 2 groups of 2. There were also a couple of families in the dining room and a larger group in a private room. I chose a seat at one of the four corners of the bar. Once I sat down a server retrieved drinks from the bartender. The bartender continued to make drinks. A lady then walked through the door and grabbed a menu and sat at the other end of the bar. The bartender continued to make drinks without any contact. A few more minutes passed and a couple walked in and walked around me but the tv wasn't playing what they wanted to watch so they walked back to the other side of the bar. Time passed and the bartender greeted them and then asked them what they wanted. The gentleman stopped him and told him I was there before them and to assist me. The bartender came over and asked me if I wanted anything to drink. I told him I would like a menu and a glass of water. He walked away and on his return he gave the couple a couple of menus and THEN brought me a menu and NO water. He proceeded to give the couple two beers and again still no water. I know it takes longer to serve two beers because you have to make sure there is less frothy foam before serving. He assisted the people who were already at the bar and then he answered the phone. At this time he gave me anxiety and it wasn't good for me to stay at this establishment any longer. I don't know if I will return.

Perfect restaurant for ANY OCCASION. Amazing food and I mean fresh great produce amazing meats this place has it all. Clean all around. Bathrooms clean restaurant clean kitchen that can be seen from floor clean Bar clean Staff friendly attentive and accurate we told our waitress one time that we didn’t want mishrooms and got our drinks come back and said ok so no mushrooms she actually took the time to listen intently to what we said. And then when we tried to give her accolades she simply said Well I should be able to do that. It’s just part of my job. A very positive and refreshing outlook. Critics may say well yes Leah that’s what servers do and I would say while that is the hope not all wait staff and kitchen staff are always as good as the people at the rusty bucket are. For years my friends & i I have enjoyed the food & easy environment of the Rusty Bucket. We usually order the same thing when there for lunch. The delicious Double Nickel salad with chicken. It was always wonderful with grilled chicken on top of greens with ample pieces of blue cheese with a great dressing. Lately, instead of larger pieces of chicken, they’re more like small nuggets & blue cheese is difficult to find. I was extremely disappointed the last time my friend & I picked the salad up & brought back to my house to visit & enjoy the food. I realize restaurants are having trouble, & we certainly emphasize, however, this salad is not a cheap house salad. I’m sooo hoping this isn’t the normal offering now. Please bring back the delicious salad with nice slices of grilled chicken on top with generous pieces of blue cheese scattered throughout. It was delicious & satisfying. I’ve even bought the dressing several times.

The Rusty Bucket was recommended by friends, and we weren't sure what to expect from a regional chain of neighborhood bars. We were extremely pleasantly surprised, the food was amazing! I had the beef Stroganoff because my mom used to make it when we were growing up and it's not very common, you just don't see it on many menus. This was one of the best dishes I have ever had, hats off to the chef! Rich, creamy, flavorful sauce with plenty of fresh mushrooms and fall-apart tender beef. Even though it was a good-sized portion and I could have save some leftovers, I inhaled the whole thing and contemplated ordering a second helping... seriously! When we're back in the area, it will be difficult to order anything else off the menu because I can't see myself ordering anything but the beef Stroganoff.

It's been a while since I've eaten at RB, so I decided to go there tonight...a very good decision! I didn't catch the hostess' name, but she greeted me promptly and had me seated in seconds(really, walked in and sat down!). My server, Nancy, was right there quickly and took my drink order, which arrived shortly. I asked about the shrimp in a bucket, and no, the bucket wasn't rusty... ;-) . I ordered the s-i-a-b. While waiting for it to be brought out, I ordered the salmon. My shrimp arrived, and all I can say is..WOW, they were extremely tasty... seasoned just enough to have a nice kick along with the cocktail sauce. My salmon arrived and I was not disappointed. It was cooked perfectly, as were the grilled veggies. The rice wasn't quite up to the rest of the meal, but was still good. All-in-all, great people and a great meal!

A solid lunch experience with no real downsides other than a bit of wait sometimes and a lacklustre french onion soup. While Rusty Bucket is a medium sized 'chain' restaurant out of Ohio, it's extremely successful in creating a 'local Indiana pub' feel. If I didn't google it, I'd think it was just a local watering hole. That's what it feels like inside, anyway. Although it can get crowded with the lunch rush, I've always found a seat at the bar and the bartenders have always been great. The soup and salad options are good, but not great. The fish and chips are worth coming back for, and I have multiple time now. The best thing on the menu IMO though is the cuban sandwich. It's about as close to the real thing as I can find in Indy anymore.

This was my first time and the place was PACKED!!! I was grumbling about the prices until I had the food... It was AMAZING!! From the food to the cocktails to the atmosphere I was impressed. The guac was fresh and wonderful! The blueberry cocktail kept me wanting more! The food was yum yum yummy and our server has a happy lil girl who was great. A 10 out of 10!!! I'll be back!!!

Worst place ever. We try to support local and we love their food. However, we arrived an hour before closing and they refused to seat us because it was an hour before closing and we were a party of 8. This is the second time this has happened to us. The first time, they refused to seat our party of four an Hour before closing. We even said we would split into two different tables to ease servers amount of tables and pay separately and they wouldn’t let us. Staff was so rude. Will never support them again. Worst customer service EVER and my hubby and I have been in the service industry for years. Live right around the corner and will refuse to support any more. So embarrassing to be turned away when we bring guests out of town to dine with us.

So I stopped in for the first time because I have been searching for good places with great happy hours. The bar was quite lovely, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was super friendly and attentive at the bar (shout out Brandon and Brandon!) The Tuesday happy hour specials include half price bottles of wine, and I tried a red blend and took the bottle home. It was very smooth and very pleasant. I tried several things off the appetizers menu which were so half price, excellently prepared and served. The Brussels sprouts with lemon aoli were amazing, will be back!

Felt right at home as soon as I walked in. Bellied up to bar cause we were just having a cocktail and the 'famous' fried pickles Google raved about. First the pickles: thick spear with great crunchy breading serves with ranch. Not very 'dilly', but not a deal breaker. Our bartender Catherine extended her hand, announced her name, smiled and it was game on. Honestly, she gets award for friendliest person in Indiana! She informed us of Happy Hour specials, gave us her favorites, just plan awesomeness! A great find.

Ate here on a weekday for lunch. The restaurant was busy, but we did not have to wait for a table. I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich and fries. It was very good and is served with a side or horseradish sauce. I'm not a fan of horseradish, so I was thankful it automatically came on the side. My husband got the breaded tenderloin as usual. He loves that sandwich and gets it at every restaurant that has it on the menu. He especially likes the tenderloin here. Our server was wonderful. Lunch for 2 was approx $36 after gratuity.

My friend and I come from out of town to doctor's visits in the area and have stopped at Rusty bucket on numerous times! We have never been disappointed in the food service or atmosphere for that matter!! Today was no exception! We sat there and enjoyed every bite and our waiter was so polite and efficient! He definitely was a courteous professional at his job as a server! So pleasant! I'm confident we will stop here again on our next visit to the area. We've tried other places but this is our favorite!

The Rusty Bucket does not leap to the eye -- its mellow sign is easy to miss from the road (right beside 21st Amendment) -- but it is worth seeking out. It is practically the epitome of a sports bar -- lots of TV on the wall, showing lots of sports. The ambience is clean and unobjectionable, but not exactly mind-blowing. The lighting at the booths is too dark. I had an appetizer - the Double Quesadilla - which was just enough to make a meal of. It was yummy -- though maybe a touch too much paprika on the first bite. If the Double Quesadilla is any indication of the rest of the menu, I'll be confident going here for a lunch or dinner anytime, solo or with friends.

Overall: The Rusty Bucket hits the spot if you're looking for a humble meal at a neighborhood spot. The good: I came in craving a pork tenderloin and they certainly didn't disappoint. There's a ton of good options on the menu, no matter what you're in the mood for, but the tenderloin is well-breaded but not overly so, and the portion size was perfect. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, even though it's primarily a bar with TVs everywhere. The service was friendly and attentive as well. The not-so-good: Not much honestly, the fries could've been a little better and the food a tad hotter, but I'm picking needles. Food/drink: 9/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10

Great lunch stop! The food was fresh and tasty service was top notch. As soon as we walked in the staff was friendly, like we’d been there a hundred times. The menu had many options with a quirky sense of humor which was greatly received by our party. Our server was super nice and had suggestions for us and answered our off the wall questions. He bantered back and forth with us and food came out hot and fast. At the end of our meal the chef came out to talk with us also and even offered us his newest dessert on the house. So kind and I was so stoked on the dessert it was refreshing, creamy and delicious. Thank you rusty bucket well done! you’re on our list!

Rusty Bucket is a favorite for our family. We tend to indulge when we eat here — calorically and financially. This elevated pup food spurge is absolutely worth it though. Every once and awhile service can be slow or there’s a hiccup in the order, but they always handle it well. Favorites for us include fried pickles, fish & chips, sweet potato fries, bread pudding, and soy glazed salmon (easily one of my favorite meals ever).

We were promptly seated and immediately tended to by our server. The spicy bloody Mary I had was perfectly suited to my taste. I ordered the trio, soup, salad and 1/2 a sandwich. The salad was fresh and crispy, the French onion soup flavorful and the club sandwich ok. I thought there was too much cheese in the soup and it was tough, otherwise, the meal was satisfying and good. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. I recommend the Rusty Bucket.

***DISAPPOINTED***We normally have a great time… we don’t want to come back after the last visit earlier this week. My husband had gotten the chicken Parmesan and he had asked me if it tasted off and I thought something was off about it. The texture was wrong. He said it was like “rubber.” We both ended up really sick after eating it and had to miss work. I’m glad we didn’t give any to our young daughter. Before this experience I would have recommended this place but it’s not the same. Also I wish they would put meatballs back in the kids spaghetti kids need a protein.

Kiddo decided on The Rusty Bucket for celebration meal. She had The Sicilian (no peppers or onions). I had the BPT. Both were phenomenal. Pizza had a great chewy dough and I'm a big fan of their sauce. BPT......the breading, oh my. Crunchy, so much flavor. Good ratio of meat. Fries came out cold, mentioned it to our waitress and she brought me new ones. They were phenomenal too. I didn't even need ketchup or mayo!!! Atmosphere was laid back, TVs playing sports. Music lightly playing. We will definitely be back.

I’ve eaten at the Rusty bucket with friends several times. Very convenient that you can get a reservation. I tried the El Cubano sandwich for the first time last night, and it was just fabulous! The meat and Swiss cheese were very fresh, and the bread was tasty and not overly crusty. One of my friends got the barbecue chicken salad, excellent as well. Another friend always gets the cob when she goes there because it’s totally fresh And delicious. Definitely a five-star place, and on top of that, they have a lot of TVs for the sports fans.

Finding this restaurant was just pure luck. Where we live we do not have this restaurant. It was a perfect place after being at the natatorium for age group swimming finals. Their menu was perfect for everyone to find something they wanted and the appetizers (especially the fried pickles) were wonderful. Nancy was our server and she was a hoot while being very efficient. The chef was walking through the restaurant and stopped to talk to us then offered dessert that we all shared. I wish we had this restaurant group in northwest Indiana.

Love the food and usually have a great experience, but don’t ever try going within an hour of closing. Try to support local, but they make it hard. Showed up at 9:00 with a party of 9. They closed at 10:00. Went for my birthday with family from out of town. Rather than seat us, the hostess went to check with the manager. She came back and said because they only had 2 servers and closed in an hour they couldn’t seat us though most of the restaurant was empty. As we went back to our cars to try to figure out where to go, the final kicker was watching another table get seated. Daddy Jacks was happy to seat us.

A hidden gem on the near NW side the 'Bucket' is a surprisingly open, but intimate space. I met up with someone for an early lunch and noticed there were other casual pairs as well. Whether a business lunch or a family dinner RB can handle it. I had a burger. And, RB is one of the few Indy restaurants/bar that serve sweet potato fries. A plus in my book! The burger to bun ratio was just right, and I had a great portion of the fries. The service was quick, but informative. And there was great communication between the host and the server before we sat. I'd come back a second time for certain.

This is our go-to date night spot. Everything I have ever had here tastes great, presentation is great, and all of our servers have been fantastic. Their service is often quick even on busy nights. I do recommend making a reservation as you never quite know how busy they will be, especially on weekends or during a sporting event.

Busy evening for dinner, so took a while before we were seated. A very large party of elderly people were seated where they intended to put us once they left which they thought would be soon as they had been there already for 2 hrs. Suggested they put us back to back in booths as we were essentially two separate families. Said they don't split party. We had an 8 yr old, 6yr old and 4 yr old with four adults. We would have had to wait another hour and a half had they not split us. Kids were tired and hungry. Thank you. We really appreciate it. Food is always very good here.

Alright, so I just picked this place off the maps because it was on my way home from the airport. It was probably the best restaurant that I've stumbled across. I got the Sicilian pizza and some kind of desert. She said chocolate something and...That was enough for me to order it. You definitely get a good portion for what you pay. As for quality, it almost tastes like my grandma is locked in the kitchen baking as much love as she can into every bite. I would say take my review with a grain of salt, but the food is good enough without any extra seasonings.

First time I've been here. Monday night so there was not much of a crowd so service was very attentive. I had the Cubano sandwich and personally I would rate it in my top five. Lots of cheese and toasted just right. Couldn't eat the whole thing so had great leftovers the next day. I like to reserve five stars for a truly exceptional experience so that's why I gave this one a four. The drinks were slightly disappointing. The flavor wasn't quite right in the mixed drinks and a small for the price. Otherwise my date and I enjoyed the night and will go back.

Came in earlier for lunch while in the area from hours south because it wasn’t chain and had good reviews, I’m not entirely sure why, because we had a pretty bad experience. Got tea and it tasted like dirty dishwater, nothing on the menu is what’s online, none of us could find anything we liked, and we got an appetizer of the queso and chips, the chips were so stale they cut the roof of my mouth open. We paid for our appetizer the nasty teas and left.

Excellent food and service. We enjoyed the original restaurant almost 20 years ago and the one in Indianapolis did not disappoint. All 3 meals were very tasty and they have deep fried pickle spears (not the slices) like we are used to getting in Ohio. Happy hour is from 3-6 with half priced apps and pizzas, plus a $5 burger. They have daily specials on drinks as well! I got the mushroom pizza, my husband got the $5 juicy Lucy burger, my mother in law got the tomato basil soup, and my toddler got the Mac and cheese with fruit. Okay, first and most importantly: fried pickle SPEARS. Yes, spears. So good! Don’t love their ranch, but you can’t win them all, okay. Lol Buffalo sandwich: solid. Maybe needs more Buffalo sauce, but well cooked and huge. Definitely could split between 2 people. Tenderloin: boyfriend really enjoyed it, but not much feedback outside of that. Oh and they brought out the toppings on the side, which he wished it would’ve just come constructed already, but not a real complaint lol

It can get a bit loud, but it is a fun location. When I first looked at the menu, I didn't think they'd be able to find me something safe to eat, but they did. Their bar selection is above average.

An awesome find on our last night of vacation. Food was out to us in record time for a restaurant today & was hot & mouth-wateringly delicious! The service was even better. Ok, so first time here. Levi, our server, was awesome. The food was typical bar grub, but done with obvious care. I had the fish and chips, which were some of the best I've had in the city. My wife had the Bucket Burger, just your basic cheeseburger, but again very well done. We can't wait to come back and try some other options! As an aside, they have half price apps before 6pm. Well worth stopping by. Ask for Levi, as he was a delight.

20AUG23 - Dinner again while visiting my son. Still good, I will be back. 21AUG22 - Had dinner here with my son . I had the breaded pork tenderloin and he had the cheese burger. This has to be one of the best BPTs I've had. Not too thick not too thin, tasty breading, juicy. Just delicious‼️ My son reports that the burger was one of the best he's ever had too. Great place, I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the Indy the area.

Wild mushroom pizza and the brussel sprouts appetizer were both GREAT. Had the rum punch drink special and really enjoyed it. Levi is an excellent server, too.... we've had several good ones but he's one of the best.

Atmosphere is nice. Regular sports bar feel. Waitress was very nice. Let’s talk about this fish and chips that I was suggested… Two pieces of freezer to fryer fish. Definitely not fresh.. over cooked. Fries hot cold and warm… a mix of flavors.. bottom line, not even close to worth $15.99… I’m just saying. I could have went to Buffalo Wild Wings if I wanted poor quality food. This will be my last visit. No thanks.

Tyreek, our waiter had the best personality, and was very attentive. The burger was so good, and we loved the fried pickles! We will definitely be back! The happy hours are a great deal!

One server plus he was the bartender, but he was on it! Drinks were delicious and so was the food. Pork tenderloin tasted like it fresh and not frozen. I definitely will be back!

This is the local bar that everyone either needs to know about or already does (since the bar gets very busy at times)! Remember to ask for Josh, Brandon (many of them) and Catherine! They know you and they make you feel like you are at home. The food is always good and the salmon salad is awesome!

We had a group of 7 people and received exceptional service from our waiter. He got everyone’s drink and meal order to perfection with many additional special requests. He had lots of funny antidotes and was very personable and polite. The icing on the cake was everyone enjoyed their meals and got just what they ordered. Will definitely be back again!

Was on my way back to the office and decided to try a new place for lunch, the customers were made up of old and young. Service was top notch, I sat at the bar. I got a simple Cesar salad and French onion soup and a beverage. The service was excellent, atmosphere was on point, and food was good.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The management and staff were so amazing. I have an allergy and they were so helpful with finding me something I could have. The food was so good. They have one of the best tenderloins. It was also so clean and that is hard to find now days.

I have had nothing but fantastic experiences coming here. Food is cooked from scratch and genuinely delicious. Staff is friendly as hell and they call you by name. Rusty Bucket is an incredibly inviting place. Pickles are amazing by the way - great starter. Long story short come here and enjoy the stunning energy and atmosphere.

Ok...so there have been many evil geniuses in the past like Frankenstein and Marvin the martian....but the guy here who figured out buffalo cauliflower...I bow to you. So fn good...I know I say it a lot...but you hate yourself if you don't have this.

Decent experience. Went for lunch and seemed like most of the crowd were seniors. No problem with that, just surprised me. Food was decent, but a little challenging to eat gluten free. But they’ll help you figure it out. You just have limited options.

My Mom, niece and I dined here and loved it! Our food was great and our waiter was friendly and efficient, despite the restaurant being super busy! Our orders were peel and eat shrimp (prepared superbly) tenderloin sandwich. Club sandwich and Philly steak & cheese sandwich. Huge portions and excellently prepared.

Had a great dining experience here. The food was excellent. The waiter was great. The atmosphere was cool... lots of old memorabilia on the walls that was fun to look at.

Great atmosphere and great food. Had the burger and it was cooked exactly as I ordered,was a hand made patty. Overall pretty nice place, driven by this area a 1000 times before, never noticed it. Glad I've discovered it now.

I went in about 1pm on a Friday. They were pretty busy. I was amazed how quickly my food came out. I devoured the Mr. Plot burgers with onion rings! When I say HOT FRESH AND DELICIOUS!!! Just that!! 10 out of 10 recommended!

Rusty Bucket is a great hole in the wall. Easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Food is delicious and half price apps/discounted pizzas during Happy Hour. Can't beat it!

Kevin was the best waiter I have had in a long time by far. The food was fast and hot and delicious. Buffalo chicken sandwich was amazing. If ever in Indy again will have to make a stop again.

My boyfriend and I order food from here at least once a month. Everything we've had has been delicious, the prices are good, and the servings are huge. The tenderloin is very good and not unreasonably huge. The fish and chips are great and their fries are my favorite.

Our Indy friends took us to one of their regular hangouts. Good food. Loved the fried pickles!

So I came to this place today (3/12/2018) for lunch and let me start by saying that I liked it. The waitress recommended I get the pork tenderloin. It was very good and the fries were good as well. I WILL BE COMING BACK.

Terrible via DoorDash. $8 bottle of wine was $13. Deep Fried Pickles were soggy and came with the wrong sauce ($11). Salad ($8) was tiny and had very little blue cheese and other toppings, as promised.
