So close to a 5/5. Like super close. I'd say it is a 4.95/5. The reason I'm not going all the way with 5/5 is their incredibly slow internet. 1.6mbps download and 5mbps upload. It'd be faster to connect my cell phone to my laptop. Now I get it. Some coffee shops intentionally do this so they can say they offer wifi but don't want it fast so people stick around all day. I'm just not...nah. If I have to do any photo or video uploading, this can't be the cafe I go to. Now for just straight forward text searching on the internet or text work, this is a good spot for that. So that's internet speeds aside. Food - Fantastic. Cookie was a bit too salty, but still delicious. Cappuccino was perfection. Service - 10/5. Customer service is super friendly, helpful and always has a smile. Not to mention if you are French speaking, they very much support that at this cafe. Atmosphere - Perfection. The music is playing BUT, and this is a huge thing for me, it's quiet. We can hear each other while we talk and the music is deep enough in the background not to cause a distraction. The place is very clean and well laid out. The utilization of the space is excellent. There's enough tables and chairs for its size without jamming more in the area, and there is still open space for people who want to come in and quickly get their coffee. Conclusion: Really close to the most perfect coffee shop I've ever been in. I even restarted my mac laptop to confirm the internet was as slow as it was 'cause I felt bad not giving it a 5/5 rating. Sadly...it is that slow. However, if you don't need fast internet, this is a perfect place to go to in Kingston. You will not be disappointed.

This is hands down the best café in the city. I’ve spent a lot of time in specialty cafés in Hamilton, Toronto, Calgary, and Edmonton, and the team here is nothing short of incredible! They’re super knowledgeable, incredibly friendly, and you will have the most consistent (great) coffee experience as compared to anywhere else in the city. They always have Quietly on bar, frequently have Phil & Seb, and bring in other roasters like Detour and Bright Jenny. Their pour overs are skillfully brewed, and espresso is extracted well every time! The atmosphere is incredible, you’re treated with care, and they remember you! Great coffee, great food/snacks, great experience.

I visited twice since their opening two days ago. Coffee/espresso is well-made and eclairs are delicious. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality. The cafe was pretty busy both times that I visited (almost all low-tables were occupied and a small line to order). SENS is still figuring things out though, especially the POS/transactions. I had to walk out without ordering on my second visit because 1) they were taking too long to process an order and a refund, and 2) an older gentleman was in line with his mask down and pushing too close to others. I do hope they enforce their mask policy a bit better in the future. I'm looking forward to seeing this cafe grow and find their footing. They're a great addition to the neighbourhood!

Amazing staff, coffee, and pastries. I went there and just had an awesome time speaking to the owner who was so nice, and the barrista really knew his stuff. I asked for a light roast coffee and a latté, 2 éclairs and a crème brulée. The coffee was some of the most amazing coffee I've drank in my life, not bitter and very fruity. And as for the pastries, the classic éclair and the crème brulée were delicious but that lemon and raspberry éclair was nothing short of amazing. The pâte à choux was still crispy and the filling was a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. I'm definitely coming back.

Ist vist. Coffee (cappuccinol good, but in a takeout cup. Had to get coffee to go as the small space was just a sea of laptop computers, so very claustrophobic. No seating available as space filled with folks taking up space and seats, all glued to their computer screens. Despite the good coffee I won't be back to this congested, noisy and very uncomfortable spot. Certainly not a welcoming or relaxing coffee spot option. There was barely room to stand to order and pick up coffee. Can't comment on food options as I couldn't see anything. So sad.

This is my favourite café in the city so far! They have the most delicious espresso from Quietly coffee in their mochas. I have bought 2 bags of to have at home. I always recommend Sens to my friends and bring my family when they visit, and they've loved it too! The latte art is beautiful and its a great place to sit and work. The staff is so warm and welcoming every time I come in and they also have a great vegan oat/coconut milk substitute.

One of the best flat whites I've ever had, and priced very fairly for the portion. Also the eclair was awesome, wish it was a bit bigger though as I could have eaten more. Chocolate chip oatmeal cookie was large, fresh and delicious. The interior is quite beautifully decorated and relaxing. The only thing I would like to see is some sort of couch or cushioned seating if possible. I would greatly recommend this cafe to anyone who is interested Quality coffee and desserts. Nice ambience inside and quality coffee but really pretentious.. the man sounded insulted and then lectured me why its in such poor taste to add cream to an americano. Concerning the reply - that’s fine and I do appreciate your art and passion for espresso though I’m also a coffee and espresso enthusiast and just enjoy having some cream in my Americano.. and it felt like you did go out of your way to tell me why I’m wrong for enjoying that. I added cream to it when I got home and did really like the espresso; would have preferred with my usual style.

Great new café. Espresso is very good, and all coffee drinks are some of the best prices in the city. The service staff have a great sense of humour and are very friendly. Vibe and clientele ranged from young professionals working to seniors meeting for an afternoon chat – in other words, not a student study spot. Looking forward to coming back to try pour-overs and some of the food. Wifi is good – not blazing fast, but more than capable of handling any typical work tasks like email and web browsing (I was getting 14 Mbps while the place was full).

SENS Cafe is a very short walk from the downtown Kingston waterfront. There is a nice selection of V60/Chemex coffee in addition to milk-based (and plant milk-based for vegans) coffee and snacks. If you’re visiting from Toronto you will immediately notice the significantly lower prices ($4-ish for V60 here compared with $8 - $9 in Toronto). The staff are friendly and helpful. This is definitely a place to visit while you’re in town!

Es gab hauptsächlich kleine Süßspeisen dort, wie Cookies oder Ähnliches. Das Sandwich wurde erwärmt und hat gut geschmeckt, war aber nicht sehr groß. Der Scone hätte ebenfalls frischer sein können. Der Kaffee war allerdings super lecker. Positiv hervorzuheben ist, dass es dort Porzellangeschirr gab. Dies sieht man nicht sehr oft.

I came with my friend who says it's her absolute favourite place to relax and get some work done. I totally understand why. The gentleman working is so lovely. He's quiet but sweet. The vibe of the cafe is amazing. There is great music that isn't the typical mainstream noise on the radio. There are plenty of tables, lots of windows for natural light, and beautiful exposed brick. Had to check out this cafe as it just opened near me… adds to the large repertoire of cafes in the Kingston downtown core Very pleasant experience - the staff are happy to be there and create a warm cafe environment. While waiting for my latte, I watched the barista prepare a few drinks. The care he put into each and every drink was inspiring to watch. Everything tasted amazing. Over the course of a weekend we also had a couple breakfast sandwiches and eclairs. They were equally as good. We were staying with friends who live nearby and were jealous of their location, solely based on Sens Cafe.

Stopped here on a rainy Friday afternoon and discovered delicious coffee and tasty treats (blueberry "donut"). The space was well thought out, bright, yet cosy and inviting. It was very clean. There is a long but good view of the water. We happened to meet the gracious owner, who hails from France. A very nice place to stop.

Better priced then KCH ($$), Sens keeps a classic rustic limestone style but with a naturally bright and modern twist. With WiFi available and actual views of the St Lawrence from their indoor seating, I think this is my new favorite coffee stop downtown!

Excellent food and service. I thought there might have been a drop off when their baker left but not the case.
