the hostel was basic but good, until i woke up covered in bites. I went to the pharmacy and they confirmed it was bed bugs. book somewhere else to be safe! I informed staff via email after i left (as i didn’t realize until later that day) and they haven’t replied to me yet. i hope they will do something about it because i was COVERED after only one night. unfortunate because otherwise the hostel was good. not worth it though After seeing my review, Sergio contacted me immediately to apologize and has offered to refund my room and their airport pickup service which is generous. He also let me know that he is having a fumigator come tomorrow to check out the situation. Very glad to see they are taking the situation seriously and are very sympathetic to the stress the situation caused me. I hope they get the issue resolved soon!

This is the go-to hostel when making your quick stop in San Jose. The rooms had all the amenities, the bathrooms were clean and fully stocked, and the kitchen had everything you needed. Great price for a dorm bed, but nothing special about them. Easy free breakfast in the morning, and this hostel is walking distance to the different bus stations, a market and some restraunts. It's not the safest neighborhood to go out at night if you are solo. The ladies working there are super nice and helpful. We had some date changes, and they helped us with all the hassle and made it an easy change. You may even hear the stray cats meowing from the roof.

Stray cat is awesome! Victoria runs the front desk and she was kind enough to let me stumble through a bit of Spanish with her, the rooms have this little atrium area which is perfect for some yoga by yourself, and although there was a salsa party that night (super fun but I was a little too tired to participate) the doors to the rooms are heavy so the noise was no problem at all. Great location, I felt safe! There is a grocery store a block away (hardly any fresh produce but a little) and restaurant all over the place. Ten honest minutes to the bus station at a leisurely place. Great hostel

Unfortunately my bed had bedbugs. I was chewed alive the moment I got into bed. I alerted the front desk attendant in the middle of night and they swiftly moved me. But I noticed they canceled my Hostelworld reservation (no refund) so I couldn’t leave a review. So I’m leaving a review here. They handled the situation well, but I don’t like how they tried to hide it so I couldn’t leave a review. Bed bugs are everywhere, but I would exercise extreme caution. I think they were hiding in the wood bedpost more than the mattresses. My bunk mate got bit as well.

Great place to rest and recoup after multiple days of air travel. Shared facilities were all clean and the price was very reasonable. The staff were great and I appreciated them arranging for a ride from the airport late in the evening with tons of luggage. Can't say much about the neighborhood as I only passed through but it is close to many of the bus terminals to get to all corners of Costa Rica.

Good for a short stay, I would like to add that the staff was in my experience 5 star. Dorms are not ventilated so it was hot. (might be my Canadian opinion here though) but otherwise good hostel. No safebox for larger bags, there is however a locker for valuables (16 for the whole hostel though).

Great location to the 7-10 Terminal for busses to Monteverde. We were a group of 7 and rented out a dorm with 8 beds to have the privacy of one room. Clean facilities, plenty of bathrooms for everyone staying. Clean kitchen and safe entry protocols. Plenty of places nearby to get food and drinks.

Muy bien todo. Las camas muy cómodas y limpias, al igual que los baños y duchas. El desayuno muy bueno, me lo prepararon los voluntarios, muy amables. Buen precio y cerca de la estación de autobuses. Repetiré sin duda. Os lo recomiendo 100%

The good thing about it is the location! It was a very basic hostel near all the important stations. The room was super small and on the street so very noisy. The baths and toilets were clean enough. The breakfast was rice and beans thats it. For the prices we paid not worth it! It was not cheap!

Great homey hostel. Extremely affordable price for rooms and breakfast which was ₡4000 (about $5) The people in the front are super friendly and help you with anything you ask. Showers and bathrooms are clean, common spaces are clean too. Lots of people come and go so there's always someone hanging out. I had a fun stay :)

Came here straight from the airport the neighborhood is moderately to low sketchy during the day but I wouldn't walk around at night type of deal. The hostel inside is really nice clean rooms and bathrooms friendly helpful staff that make you a free basic breakfast w coffee nice place!!

It was great for a one night stay in San Jose! Free breakfast, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and quiet. 24 hour reception was great because we flew in late! Would only request bedding to have been cleaned slightly better.

Great hostel and staff. Staff is super helpful and nice. Breakfast is included. Interior is really nice. Lockers are outside on the common areas. Hot showers!!! The 10 bed dorm is really big and you got lots of space. Close to the city center.

Perfect to spend a night. Breakfast included, good price rooms. Walking distance from the bus station. The only thing is that the beds have old foam mattresses so the sleep is not so comfortable.

Hostel was great, we spent the night after a long day of traveling. Close to the airport and our driver was great. The hostel felt safe and the breakfast was amazing

I booked this hotel because it said that they offered airport transfers. When I showed up, they told me to just order an Uber. False advertising.
