I appreciate the ER triage folks, ER nurses, ER doctors, Charge nurses, HCA's, radiological techs(X-ray machine operators), nuclear medicine techs(CT machine operators), hospital pharmacists and pharmacy techs, housekeeping services workers, Food services, lung specialist doctors, internal medicine doctors, internal medicine nurses, and residents of every department. The staff at Saint Boniface Hospital even when really busy were kind and very accommodating. When anyone came to see me they were very informative, wiling to listen and answer questions. The care I received made a very scary event so much less stressful. Special thanks to my favorite nurse. My bloodbath nurse(they had to draw 8 or 9 vials of blood for tests using both of my arms because of a test requirement). They were very engaging and gentle as well as professional while drawing the blood. Also quite fantastic as a nurse at all other times even while doing undesirable tasks like collecting a urine sample. 4/1/2023 Just experienced a near complete 180 here. I took someone here that just suffered an accidental blow to the head. They had a goose egg, massive headache that would not improve and could not walk without getting dizzy. Despite updating the triage staff of their worsening condition and that they lost consciousness they were not even evaluated by a doctor within approximately a 5 hour period. The really distressing part was the large amount of fully able people that had no apparent injuries that came and left while we were there including a person that was cuffed and escorted by an RCMP officer. I mean really someone that is believed to have broken the law and was walking around without problems, even went outside to smoke a cigarette came before a head injury.

I had my first baby here a few weeks ago. He was very big and it was a difficult delivery. I was in a lot of pain, and was treated by most of the nurses like I was just being whiny and dramatic. When I asked for something for the pain (after the epidural didn't work), they dragged their feet and suggested I "use the pain" to try to push my baby out. After enduring many hours of pain which completely sapped me of any energy I might have had, I ended up in the OR where my baby was born using forceps. We both nearly died (baby's heart rate got dangerously low and my husband had to move me around to get it back up while the nurses chatted outside the room), and I suffered severe injuries, including nerve damage, hemorrhage, and a third degree tear. All of it could have been avoided if my pain had been taken seriously instead of being brushed off. Following that, we struggled to get much help in our recovery room. The staff were very stingy with supplies and we were constantly having to ask for towels, diapers, etc. On more than one occasion we were promised things by the nurses (like a shower for me, a bath for my baby, and a fan to cool our 80 degree sauna of a room) who then promptly disappeared for hours only to show up to tell us their shift was over. Breaks and shift changes seemed to be top priority, well above patient care, and many nurses seemed eager to make us the next shifts's problem. The only positive thing I can say is that the two lactation consultants we saw were very caring and helpful. Overall, the sheer apathy shown by many of the staff was just appalling. I will never go to this hospital again if I can help it.

They need to be more professional and have empathy for family that enter the hospital. We don’t want to be there either! My granddaughter was transferred there from another hospital for an emergency lifesaving surgery. My daughter got there ahead of me and she was waiting in the exit taped off corridor. After I went through the entry protocol I went to her and hugged her as she started crying. I’m reassuring her that everything will be ok. About 20 feet away was the coffee shop. I said I would go get us a coffee while we wait. I ordered and was about to pay when this employee, this woman comes and tells me in a very disrespectful way that I can’t use any of the hospital services. She said she already told me and to go back in the designated area. I tried to tell her that this is the 1st time anyone talked to me and she argued with me that she did. Then when I said that she didn’t, she said “well I’m telling you now!” She was incredibly disrespectful, I am highly respected in my professional life, my industry and my community, and to be treated this way was an insult! We were very distressed and worried about our loved one and the 2 women that are employees at this hospital just made it so much more stressful on my and my daughter. The lady from the coffee shop came and delivered our coffee to us while we sat and waited. When I took my mask down to drink the coffee she came there to “tell” to put my mask back up even when I drink my coffee. Meanwhile on the other side of the deciding half wall, 10 feet away, people where sitting there without masks while reading, texting etc. It was an awful experience that didn’t need to be.

For the most part all my experience with this hospital have been the same as any other Winnipeg hospital (wait times etc). Except for the doctor who feels entitled to shove her religious bigotry down patient's throats. YOUR RELIGION HAS NO PLACE IN OTHER PEOPLE'S HEALTH CARE! I was assigned to go there for a cancer screening and had a doctor literally yell at me about how "You're going to regret this!" when she found out I was using birth control - strictly preventative birth control. I get that it's a Catholic hospital and they don't like helping people avoid unwanted pregnancies, but it was completely unrelated to why I was there. She knew nothing at all about me except that I might have cancer, yet wasted a bunch of time (and tax payer dollars) to lecture and bully me for avoiding an unwanted pregnancy. She also try to get me to disclose what doctor had 'allowed such a thing' and clearly wanted to get them in trouble. It was beyond unprofessional! She made it abundantly clear she was more interested in my breeding status than my long term health and survival. I can't even imagine how horrifically she must treat any queer or trans patients who have the misfortune of meeting her. I appreciate whatever church funding this hospital has benefited from, but it is extremely unethical for any doctor to carry on the way this person did. I have zero trust she'd do what was in a any patient's best interest treatment wise if it might impact the fertility she values more than the person's actual life. I filed a complaint, but never heard back from anyone.

This hospital treats you worse than prisoners and I know from first hand experience. I’ve asked 5 or 6 times for a shower as it has been over 2 days since I’ve been able to have one before being admitted to cardiac care. The nurses I ask always say they will go check and then I never hear from them again or a few said they need permission from the doctor to take off my chest leads. Give me a break, they come off when I go to the washroom and when I went down to meet a friend for an hour in the Atrium but try to have some good hygiene and be able to clean yourself, “Oooooh…very risky to take the leads off for 5 minutes. Gotta be able to monitor your heart.” Yet I am so routine that I am stuck over the weekend in this place because my procedure is not considered urgent and I am on the “routine” list for a M-F business hours procedure. Management, you need to seriously look into this. If a prisoner asks for a shower and the police don’t provide one after 2 days of them sitting in cells, it’s often a human rights complaint and understandably so. I may go 5 days without a shower and somehow this is all in the name of making sure my heart is okay??? Give me a break! I thought the good service and treatment I received at St. Michaels Hospital cardiac unit in Toronto was just standard procedure. It now feels like the red carpet was rolled out to me there compared to here. Maybe the provincial government should step up and provide more funding because something is seriously wrong if a fully mobile patient can’t get a simple and quick shower.

This review is for Dr Sean J Udow - Neurologist addressing the case for neurological cases coming to St Boniface Hospital. My wife was admitted into ICU and put on ventilator for 3 days at St Boniface after she was taken in what paramedics thought was neurological seizures . After ventilator was removed and she came out of induced comma, she was put on extensive medicine for anti-seizure which resulted in depression, hallucination and intense side effects. She stayed in hospital for 1 week but Dr Udow didn't bother to come come see her even once to see how she was doing in hospital despite multiple requests i made to St Boniface hospital. She was released from hospital while still having seizures at home, when i contacted Dr Udow's clinic as he was neuro contact - he said he cant do anything and we should just go to ER, he gave us an appointment of 6 months later to see him while my wife struggled to even get up from bed on her own (she was healthy 28 y old prior to meds) After seeing her health, I consulted a neurologist in New York through a contact as well as top neuro in India. Both neurologists reviewed her reports in detail and said that my wife case was completely misdiagnosed - they stopped her anti seizure medicines immediately. What was a psychological anxiety attack was completely misdiagnosed due to negligence as neurological seizures. God saved her and us but i wish there was some regulatory body that would look into this. I dont have money for legal cases otherwise i would take this dr and his license away!

Absolutely rediculous wait times no matter when you go. Last time I waited 11 hours in the emergency department I was brought in by ambulance. No one came to check on me, I was extremely hungry and no one gave me something to ate I had to actually leave to go find someone and ask if I could have something to eat and they never came back it took me three times to find someone to get help. Rediculous I was in the emergency waiting room waited several hours and not a single person left the waiting room, I was not given anything for my pain, I asked to leave and they wanted me to stay the triage nurse was very snarky with me and said she would see my back tmmr if I signed out. I went straight to Victoria general hospital and was seen very quickly, diagnosed and discharged with medications. I received a call from the MRI appointment and asked where there was free parking near the hospital and the lady on the phone actually laughed at me, I was unable to get a ride for a appointment I had no idea I was booked for she demanded I come because they had an opening and she furious with me and swore under her breath when I said I am unable to get a ride on such short notice. Disgusting behavior from multiple locations and staff within this hospital. Very disappointing, a health care facility should be able to treat patients with dignity and respect.

I am a caregiver, I had a shift at this hospital with a client from 10pm-7am. I clocked out at 7am & looked for a way out, I was looking for an elevator but I couldn’t find one, so I asked this lady in front of me for help & she just ignores me, so I decided to just keep walking until I found the elevator and then that lady looks at me and yells “who are you! and where are you going?!”, I respectfully asked her where the elevator was and she continues to yell and disrespectfully asks why I’m there. Her yelling caused a scene so the nurses gather around us, wondering what’s going on? She made it more of a big deal than it needed to be & I felt attacked. I came here for my client and I’m exhausted from staying up all night, the last thing I need is someone yelling at me for no reason. This nice black nurse came and helped me find my way out & tried to calm me down then that same annoying lady came back to tell us “we were going the wrong way” she’s literally a nurse that works there? she obviously knows the way out. I understand if maybe she was confused but I had a lanyard around my neck, she didn’t need to do all that. I don’t understand why she didn’t respectfully ask me why I’m there? I have everything I need to prove I’m a caregiver and I have a shift there. It’s only laughable at this point :)

Now this hospital has been understaffed and underoomed since the federal government has made the drastic changes to our health care system. The nurses admit they have way more on their plate and are being over worked. They also admitted that they don't have enough rooms. We had the unfortunate displeasure of having to have our 2nd child delivered at this hospital. For the labour we were out into a private delivery room that is in the old part of the hospital and is in desperate need of basic upgrades. After the birth of our child they rushed us into a cramped room with three other family's. Even after requesting a private room numerous times since we had arrived. ( lack of rooms available ) There was a complete lack of communication between the nurses/front reception because every time we had inquired for a private room no one seemed to have got the memo. ( overworked staff ) When a private room did come available there were not enough staff on to clean our " cubby " and they would not have time for us to be moved. If we have the option in the future we will pick a different hospital or province to deliver our future children because this is unacceptable. Our government needs to properly fund our hospitals so they can give us the care we deserve and run properly.

If it was me, I would give St. Boniface Hospital a minus 100. The Night Shift emergency staff is a big "Zero" in my books. I find that the Asian staff working there are very racists and have no compassion at all. When an Asian came in to the emergency that night, they got the Red Carpet treatment, while the rest of us were treated like dirt. I needed someone who could speak french so my partner could understand what was going on. My french is limited as a cannot translated everything perfectly so he can understand. It is my right to ask for someone who speaks french. We are of course at the St. Boniface Hospital, so someone there can speak the language. Also, a student Doctor that is from Toronto, was explaining to me what was wrong with my partner. He spoke so god-damn fast in English, even I could not understand him. When I asked him politely to explain it a little more slowly so I can try to translated, he shrugged it off and walked away. Also, part of staff were either playing CHEST on the computer or shopping for something online at Canadian Tire or watching "The Young and The Restless". I took a picture of one work station with the CHEST game on it. Way till the PRESS hears about this.

Very very disappointed. My husband is here because of appendicitis and the longer you wait to have surgery the more likely that the appendix will rupture. I kept (kindly) reminding staff of my concerns that it would rupture (as my husband was heavily drugged for pain) and they didn't listen. they just ignored me, as if I am stupid. When they did the surgery there were complications and the appendix was ruptured, meaning recovery will take longer and he has to stay at the hospital longer. We live on one income and have 3 kids under 4. The staff at the hospital doesn't give a damn about any of that. And throughout the day while waiting for surgery they kept poking at his abdomen not gently at all, and made him even more uncomfortable than he already was. I am very disappointed in the staff, mainly the doctors that they don't care about how bad the patients will get before they do anything about it. I've delivered all our babies here and always had great experiences with all staff, including doctors. So when the love of my life is suffering and I try to push things along and the doctors ignore me and wait until his situation is worse, is very disappointing.

I had a baby 3 months ago and my labour and delivery experience was the best! The ladies in delivery with me helped me physically and mentally through every contraction and gave me all kinds of different postures to help ese some of my pain. Once in a room for overnight stay, the overnight nurses never helped me breastfeed even thought they knew I wanted to breastfeed, they kind of just shrugged it off and bottle fed him, usually didn't let me feed him, they did it. But they were very good at answering all my questions and helping me when needed. The hospital food served room-to-room for patients is HORRIBLE! I mean all hospital food is bad but the only good thing was apple juice and apple/banana muffin. If they didn't have the restaurant downstairs I would have starved the 3 days I was there. Now the restaurant is great! Amazing and irrisitable food. Wish they had a Tim Hortons instead of Robyn's and didn't allow meth heads to walk around the ER and surrounding floor. But all in all a good experience!

Severe Prostate Infection. I arrived at Emergency at approximately 7:30pm. I was triaged fairly quickly and gave a urine sample which the hospital lost. I was finally admitted to a room at approximately 1:30am the following day after giving another urine sample and having blood work. I was treated quite rudely by the nurse on duty in the emergency dept., not the triage nurse. I was put in a room without a pillow or a blanket. When a housekeeping staff member came in I asked for those and she got them for me. When my blood work came back the doctor realized that I was quite ill. At this point the attitudes of the medical staff changed quite dramatically and I was treated with an intravenous antibiotic. I was then released around 6:30 am. Although I had urinary incontinence which developed while I waited in the emergency waiting room and had mentioned this to the staff on duty I was given no assistance in that regard.

My Mom spent a lot of time here before her passing due to pancreatic cancer. During those times we had good experiences and bad. After a procedure at a different institution my Mom was brought back to St.B. When she arrived with my Aunt the greeters would not allow my Aunt to stay with my Mom, which is reasonable. What was unreasonable is that the greeter then told the nurses that my Aunt had just "left my Mom there because she didn't have time to wait". My Mom was sedated and tried to explain the situation to no avail. My good experiences are centered around the treatment of my Mom during her many stays in the hospital. Every nurse that met her seemed to love her. I would go to visit my Mom and nurses would greet me with "Oh you must be so & so's daughter!" My Mom felt very welcomed there and I felt good knowing she was being treated with dignity and respect.

If you have an elder who has covid and has gone to the ICU, you may as well bring them home and care for them there. They have their guidelines. The doctors wont go above and beyond. One day you will hear one thing, the next something different. We didnt want palliative care and so they made sure we got palliative care without 'palliative care'. They told us they wanted to take him off the vent. That he had a small window to come off the vent after 12 days and he would be better. They took him off. Hes on an Oxygen mask with no food and his lungs have no tube to pull out the mucus from the covid like how he had on the vent. They are waiting for him to drown. If you take your elder to St. Boniface ICU for covid, you better make sure you've said your goodbyes. Because they will kill them here. 100%.

Best hospital in Winnipeg and the staff at every level are amazing and most compassionate. They do everything possible to work with you and help you on your road to recovery. At another hospital in Winnipeg I had a misdiagnosis and than went by ambulance again to same other hospital, got sent to the waiting room barely dressed as was at night and was told no blankets in the waiting room, than was poorly treated while there and got discharged too soon and told I was not expected to get well. This hospital was my rescuer. They took the time and diagnostics to help me get well enough to get home and schedule a surgery as an out patient. They took the time to make sure I could eat and go to the bathroom before discharging me. Definitely the place to go no matter what the wait times look like.

The St B is dirty,needs painting.not enough windows,gloomy.There was garbage everywhere............BUT the entire staff there were cheerful.kind.friendly and showed a true camaraderie amongst themselves.They treated me like a valued person and I cant say enough good things about them.There must have been at least 15 people taking their turn looking after me ,There were no beds available at all and I was pretty much in a closet with 4 big chairs filled with others.In spite of being stacked to the roof I rate my experience a 10/10! This is in spite of the very rude female security guard .(on Duty Dec12/18 @ 9pm)Even her rather bullying comments cant take away from the absolute genuine care and kindness shown by everyone else there.Big kudos to The Staff at the St Boniface

St.Boniface Hospital is the ONLY hospital I would go to for my healthcare needs. Out of the many hospitals, in many towns, this one is the best. I have seen multiple specialists, had regular follow-ups, multiple procedures(biopsies, cystoscopy, bronchoscopy), surgery, bloodwork, EEG, MRIs, CTs, ultrasounds & etc...over the course of 20 yrs....(other than 2 snarky secretaries) I have had positive experiences at St.Boniface. They are respectful, courteous, professional and I received excellent care EVERYTIME, I found them to be kind, informed and easy to talk to. Even though I travel 3 hours to get there, the other options are....not really options!! I am very thankful for the doctors, nurses, staff at St.Boniface...(those secretaries need to get with the program)

I went to emergency because of their shorter wait times & A general dislike for "other hospitals". I was very much taken back by how loving & caring the ER nurses + The drs are with their patients!!!! I unfortunately did overhear some conversations but out of respect you always keep to yourself. I was in absolute disbelief how kindly the drs and nurses spoke. They are all very genuine people who are definitely in the right field!!!! I know some of these nurses & Drs are probably working overtime, Doing doubles or short staffed due to the crazy pandemic times & Every single one of them were happy & Supportive. What a fantastic group of medical professionals to have. We need more drs & Nurses like the St Boniface emergency staff.

I would like to appreciate the help we got from Reynelle and Janelle during the birth process on Sept 12th evening to night . My wife was in lot of pain and it was getting harder to deal with the situation . As soon as we got these two professionals, it became easier . Reynelle was experienced Nurse and she observed my wife and discuss with the doctor what should be the next steps in order to help my wife. She was quick decision maker . Her student was excellent help as well. I could not tell that it was her first time to see delivery. She was so helpful. I would like to thank both of them for the help they did . They definately made difference and I wish them all the best for future. Keep up the great work.

I was in recovery room from having a premature delivery. On our second night, we decided to have our 2 years old son with us in the room not knowing that we cannot have him as that is the rules of the hospital. This nurse Savanna came and told me that he must go. I asked her for consideration, it was almost 1am already and we do not have baby sitter. My son was quiet and he didn't run around or making any noises but she said her superior nurse told her to not allow our son to stay. Some people think they on top of everything, no consideration at all and power tripping when they can. The most saddest thing is they are working in the hospital where they supposedly have empaty.

Basically, my dad suffered severely from Covid last November. It got to the point where he was having trouble breathing so we had to take him into St. B (we are from out of town.) We were met by nurses who rushed him in and from there he was literally treated like royalty. They were quick and efficient, and very very kind. Despite the very high stress involved during this time my dad accounts that he was treated nothing but great! We greatly greatly appreciate the nurses / doctors / health care aides/ housekeeping / etc. etc. every one of them made my dads stay very comfortable. He recovered , and was able to come home which we are extremely grateful for

Worst emergency service. My mother had pain on her head, and ended up fainting at home so immediately my family brought her to the emergency. Nurse just told my mom to wait in emergency room while she's dying. One old blonde nurse were extremely rude, talked to my mom with no respect at all. (My mom didn't speak english very well). And Some nurses were talking so loud about their personal stories, laughing loud when the patients are so much in pain. Horrible services and very unprofessional. They need to learn how to treat patients first. How can we call it as an emergency if it takes more than 5 hours to get in the room where we can actually get treatment.

I always have normal wait time depending full it is how bad I am & I look at others around & kinda get the general feel of who's looking like Wow hope their next , and well he sprained his wrist he can Wait ! Some just need faster attending to then others, they're as efficient as you can be in these situations! And always as helpful as can be, Everyone I've come across are all friendly they do the best they can with what they have and I've never had a problem I'm not a patient person so for what it's worth I find St.Bonniface Emergency & hospital top in Winnipeg ! Kudo to all staff & Medical Departments , Nurses Surgeons & that work there !

Most of the nurses were kind and informative but i would hear different things from different nurses when i would call. So would get good news from 1 then bad or different news from another. (We dont live in wpg) .Didn’t know who to believe. They took away my dads phone when he was wanting to call us when he wasn’t feeling good. Almost every time we went to visit there was a front desk clerk woman with an accent who was rude. She knew what me and my siblings were going through with our dad. You’re visiting your loved ones and don’t need the rudeness she brought. My dad passed away. This was on the cardiac 4th floor

I wouldn't even give it a one star rating today. The emergency wait times said 1 1/2 hrs to 3 hrs max. We are here for something serious. We have now been here over 4 hrs. People who came in after us are gone already and were in for what appeared to be a bug of some sort. Nurse is very unfriendly and downright rude. Staff spendinf LOTs of time socializing - talking about trips, coffee makers and other stuff while we are still waiting to be seen by ANYONE. There was a young man brought to the same room at the same time as us who got his stitches and has been fine for 2 hours already. Absolutely disgusting.

My mom has been stuck at this hospital for a lil bit now and the nurses are quite ignorant,, and sound prejudice.. I believe my mom is getting treated unfairly and really wants to leave but it is the hospital using their authority over her acting as if she is not capable to leave yet how ridiculous,,,,, she has been very cold in the room they placed her so she had to fight for her rights to be placed into another room which was warmer to. I don't appreciate how they do their job there. On top of that trying to take away my mom's right she has on something else like what messed up place......

Nurses and clerks at the emergency room were very inconsiderate and rude. There were hardly any other patients there and they essentially told my wife that she should have gone somewhere else to see a doctor and that she should have planned better. They didn't believe some of the things she told them and made her feel unappreciated and uncared for. The triage nurse was especially good at not listening to my wife's situation and making assumptions. They never smiled and never showed any ounce of concern. Very negative experience and would avoid this emergency room next time.

The nurses at this hospital were so nice to me during my stay. Had surgery, but since it wasn't an emergency yet urgent, It took days for me to recieve mine. One of the nurses caught me crying out of anxiety and told me she has anxiety too and that she understands. She got me a book to read and made sure I was okay. The other nurses were on top of things, kind, and surprisingly happy and upbeat despite going through a pandemic. I never once felt like I was over reacting about my condition, belittled, or unwelcomed. I'm glad I stayed long enough to get my surgery done.

MOTHER & CHILD -- my wife recently just gave birth to our wonderful baby girl and I just thought this institution deserves a five star rating on how they treated us during our stay, although some people or staff has different characters we cannot generalize that to question the principle of this organization. We experienced how hard to wait in a triage but it's all justifiable and very straightforward...if some people or race cannot accept the Canadian's way maybe they can go back to their respective countries...some people complains a lot whether it's free or not...

$17.84. That's how much it costs to park for four hours at the Tache lot opposite the hospital, using the app - which I was forced to do because of the construction on the south side of the hosital. It got even better when I had to extend my parking time by 15 minutes. That was an ADDITIONAL $1.56, for a whopping $19.40. That's more than I earn in an hour. It's highway robbery. It's absolutely disgusting. Next time I probably won't be able to afford it, and will have to either miss or postpone whatever test gets booked there - or request a different hospital.

I am grateful to Dr. Mowat but the hospital has structural and systemic issues. It shouldn’t require two nurses to triage a patient or at times one nurse at the reception desk while dozens of patients waiting. I have been waiting for 4 hours so far to have old wound covers removed and replaced with new albeit Dr. Mowat said you don’t need to wait just let the front desk know and come in. I hope the directors and doctors read these reviews and take actions. Prime minster Trudeau is correct when he refuses to grant a blank cheque to the provinces. Thank you

I went there with 11 gaulstones and got treated like I was drug seeking and got given 2 Tylenol 3 and I was in so much pain so I went home and I had to call an ambulance to go to the Heath science Center. Then on Saturday they took me to the scope clinic at St Boniface then they took me back to the Heath science Center thank God. I tried to put in a complaint but because I left they don't make it a valid complaint. She asked me what I would like to tell the emergency department and I said tell them everyone is not at the emergency department for a pill.

What a waste of taxpayers money...would've been better off giving the money to organized crime, at least they are organized! Terrible hospital, incompetent staff, no wonder this place has bad reviews...there would be more most likely but unfortunately they have probably passed away. There probably are some honest, hardworking individuals here but it's hard to fly like an eagle when you are working with turkeys. This is not a hospital you want to go to if you can help it, any veterinarian can provide superior service and care with shorter wait times.

Is it just me but the aides at this hospital are atrocious. Just because you are burnt out or having a bad day, you still have to provide people with great customer service. Even the women at the ACF Receptioms Desk are RUDE. I had a number to be called and the allowed another person to be checked in whole I was waiting. When it was FINALLY MY TURN ( THEY CALLED MY NUMBER), there excuse was the didn't know someone had my number. Not even a simple apology for saying the skipped me? Why do you have a ticket system in the first place?? Terrible.

Husband went there today for pain in his leg (has popliteal vein thrombosis) and he wasn’t able to walk or move this morning. He Went to the ER at 1pm and is still waiting in the waiting room (now 11pm), with no updates on when a doctor can see him. He’s not able to walk for more than 2 minutes without shocking pain and because no one’s allowed to wait with him he has just been waiting with no food or water for 10 hours now. The worst hospital would not recommend to anyone unless you’re willing to wait 10+ hours till anyone sees you

this is the only hospital that has ever made me feel comfortable and cared for. went in thinking I had heart problems and they connected me with a psychiatrist as it turned out to be stress related. they took my concerns seriously and made me feel cared for ❤️ even staff that weren’t caring for me were comforting as they passed by and this is coming from someone who has extremely bad experiences from hospitals. our healthcare system is flawed but these people did their best to help me today and i appreciate it.

April 29th. Went for diagnostic imaging. A 2 part test. Had to go for bloodwork in-between. Longest wait EVER! They took 1 person every half hour. I called the Administration office while waiting and was told the lab is a Shared Health lab independent of the hospital. That said, St. Boniface should be aware of how an outside lab represents the hospital. The administrator I talked to said she woukd look into this. The girl who did my bloodwork said she was working alone all morning...just a bad experience.

The doctors here were helpful, but the reception staff were rude and unprofessional. Given the chance, i would have rather bleed out trying to drive to a different hospital than go back here. Lost enough blood to almost pass out and the only thing the receptionists could say was "we are busy honey, it's going to be a while". After being released, i was then harassed, multiple times per day, by the hospital to fill out forms that they forgot to have me sign while i was at the hospital for over 6 hours.

Nurse's and doctors are very helping and friendly. Although the security on duty are too laxed and just don't take their jobs seriously. We are sitting in the emergency room, three security guards are having a chat in the corner, they get a call and they respond saying "I'm on my way." Then continue their chat for another 5 to 7 minutes before actually waking up and attending to the call. Its scary to see people not making an effort to take their jobs seriously when they work in a hospital.

I find this hospital is just getting so dirty. I don't understand how a hospital can be allowed to get so dirty. As you come in, they also make you switch out your personal non medical mask to a disposable one, yet, you walk through the hospital with your jacket and purse or packsack which could also be carrying germs. You would expect stuff to have to be wiped down or something. Mostly all the staff is great though, I just wish they had a more meticulously cleaner facility to work in.

This is a racist hospital who turned away a Metis patient for questioning why they were not properly treating her and her infected foot. They demanded to go through her phone as they accused her of taking photos and found nothing. They then told her to leave.. with her infected foot after letting her sit in the ER for hours with no help. She went to Seven Oaks instead and was assisted immediately. Calous and uncaring triage staff don't belong in hospitals. Shame on St. Boniface. Shame.

Worst experience I've ever had in a hospital EVER. They have their wait time at 5hrs and yet it says 8hrs on their website. I went in with an absessed syste on my inner thigh and and 3day fever I sat in the waiting room for over 12hours and was told I was 2 people away when I brought it up to triage they called security on me and had me escorted back to the waiting room where I abruptly left, Oh well Hope I don't Die... BUT IT'D VE BE BETTER THAN STAYING THERE FOR ANOTHER SECOND

The triage nurse in the ER suggested I loose weight while I was crying my eyes out thinking I was dying. I’ve lost a lot and plan on continuing once I have my physical health back enough to be able to work out again and actually prepare proper meals for myself. She was just as fat as I am. PS: I hate you healthlinks for working me into a panic attack and telling me I needed to go to the emergency room ASAP when I just wanted to ask questions about my back pain symptoms.

My experience with the nurses and doctors are very rude. They popped my vein , left the iv fluid empty for the whole night, they punched my back to see where I was in pain, which made me in more pain, and if I would ask a question they would be all rude and sassy. They would act like I'm stupid. I waited 7 hours just to get in when I was in a lot of pain. Also, one of the nurses took my phone charger while I was sleeping, and never returned it... Horrible staff .

My husband is in St B because of cancer. He has yet to get a biopsy done. Today I was informed that no one is allowed to see him until a bed comes available. At this point every second every minute and every day are precious. He is not allow to see myself, his wife, nor his children. How dare they do this to him and us. Why are we not able to come in one at a time? Don't tell me this is hospital policy. When it comes to a case like this screw policies.

Had my daughter at this hospital! Easier to navigate, great food gallery, nice gift shops, shoppers drug mart, and vending machines. The security is good, labor and delivery nurses have a good bed manners, and they make you feel comfortable! I was alone for the first two days so a nurse named Anne made my stay very welcoming, I didn’t feel so scared or lonely. If you see this, I’m Courtney! The then 16-year-old with the little girl named Sarah.

This hospital really needs to educate their employees to the policys that were put in place for the well being of everyone. When l go to the hospital as a visitor lam already concerned for a loved one l dont need workers taking down to me and being verbally aggressive. Every single time l visited the hospital l was told something different regarding the rules. The front door workers were exceptionally rude, cold and indifferent to visitors.

With the exceptional of some caring staff, nurses in emergency let call bell ring endlessly when having panic attack & some healthcare aides were of no help (not friendly). No hot blankets came after requested when having chills. Hospital wrongfully discharged me when my blood clots needed to be removed! I would have died as they were beginning to rot if my doctor didn’t finish what this hospital should have. Dreadful experience.

My wife went in for a ruptured appendix and was quickly given a CT scan and emergency appendectomy. We are so thankful for the professionalism and level of care that we received from the many Surgeon's, Doctor's, Health-care aides and especially the many Nurses on 2-B that cared for my wife during the most stressful and painful time of our lives. Thank you so much for the great work you do! We are forever in your debt!

I had excellent experience in the emergency room this past weekend. I wait a couple of hours but appreciate the fact that I was treated & test to help my lung infection. The doctor diagnosed my lung infection with blood work, X-Rays and talking to me about my issues and prescribed me the right medication and ventilator/puffer. I feel a lot better thanks for making my wait and experience in the hospital a positive one.

This hospital is a joke. My elderly Aunt was admitted Friday and I tried getting her to talk to her because she was all alone Tried 5 times Saturday rang and rang for 10. minutes each time. Tried Sunday, same result. Called today 3 times and waiting for a receptionist to answer the phone to connect me with her room. Absolutely a joke I cant get in touch with my sick Aunt. This hospital is terrible Hire someone!!!

I have been here in emergency since 8:45 am. I was sent here by the doctor at the walk in clinic. In 5 hours I have seen this waiting room grow from 4 people to 27. Only 1 person has been taken to the back. I'm glad to see all the staff here have their coffee. It takes 2 staff to admit you here...on the take your BP and the other to type. WTF. If this was a private business, it would have gone bankrupt on day 2.

I had complete confidence behind the staff, nurses and doctors at St. Boniface. They are friendly, attentive and thoroughly explain what they are doing and why they are doing it. Food at Cafe Oasis is cheap and delicious. There's also a Tim Hortons and Shoppers Drug Mart on the main level. You can take advantage of 2 hour parking around the neighborhood if possible. The walk towards the Hospital is never bad.

The doctors, nurses, and anesthesiologists are some of the most experienced, professional, and caring in the business. As both a patient and supporting loved one, my thanks to the staff of St Boniface. Navigating the hospital was easy thanks to the many signs and coloured ground guide lines. Affordable parking, a cafeteria, a Shopper's Drugmart, and nearby Poke-stops makes the wait manageable.

There are some really good doctors there, but if I were to rate the hospital based on other staff, I would say it is the worst hospital ever. I was disrespected, devalued, treated like an object not a person. I have been at other hospitals, such as HSC and Grace, and was not treated like this. So if you have to go there, be prepared to be treated as if you are a thing, not a human being.

Went to emergency because I was having pain in my stomach and back. Nurses were like robots, no compassion or concern for your well being. Honestly felt like swearing at them how they conduct their emergency room. If you can't stand your job then leave. People are sick, tired and come their for help not to feel even worse about their situation. Winnipeg sucks for health professionals.

All the staff in the emergency was so nice, caring and thoughtful. They made me feel really comfortable when I was in a lot of pain. I'm so happy to see the nurses and doctors care for their patients and actually listen to them. I haven't had the same experience from walk in clinics where ironically, everyone is in a rush and don't listen to important medical details. Wonderful staff.

I went into St Boniface with sharp chest pains at 3 in the morning. They made me sit there for 6 hours until I gave up and went home. Their waiting room is two goats away from being a third world country. At least if there had been goats, there would have been food or something to do. If you have to choose between St Boniface or dying, weigh your options carefully before you decide.

There are definite pros and cons to St. Boniface hospital, depending on your need. The parking lot areas are often, lacking the feeling of safety you would expect to see and it's not uncommon to see drug use right outside of the hospital itself. With that said, staff are often decent and I certainly felt comfortable during my recent surgery there and that's an important quality.

I know the health care system is a mess, wait times are horrendous, and so on. This is not anyone at the hospital's fault. I must say, the nurse I had was WONDERFUL. Very comforting, kind, reassuring, gentle, and thoughtful. Thank you, Carol! All the techs were sweet and terrific as well. I certainly don't want to go back anytime soon, but the staff here is marvelous!

Every person has there on rules .worst experience ever .i was with my 9 month baby so they don’t allow me visit my sister. to visit i have to leave my baby outside . but nobody said anything other day. if they have such kind rule then they should explain earlier during registration. .Woman hospital is much better then this place. even staff don’t care about patients.

My husband was admitted to ER and within two-and-a-half hours of being there he had already had a CAT scan, ultra sound and saw a doctor to find out what his health issues were. He was there for the weekend and got a lot of medical tests, and saw many other doctors. Everyone was very kind and sympathetic. It was a very successful trip and excellent health care.

My partner was throwing up for 14 hours straight. this er left him sitting in the waiting room for over 11 hours, never checking in on him. Refused to give him any medication to stop the vomiting. 11 hours is beyond ridiculous when someone is weak and dehydrated and in need of medical attention. Avoid this hospital if you actually want to be seen and cared for.

just went and visited my ill nephew in this hospital. the visiting area was very small and the lights were turned off. the staff room door was closed and the sound of the horror movie they were watching was very loud, so loud i felt anxious. terrible environment. why did they insist we visit in a room with no lighting? at 8 at night after the sun went down?

6 hrs of waiting in the er to continue to get bumped down the list and be given attitude from some old blonde nurse in the triage with glasses even tho we had a letter from a doctor about potential appendicitis. You should take your signs about respect down if your not gonna take them seriously. And maybe find a new job if you can't handle the one your in.

I had a family member that had a procedure done. The entire staff very professional, and quick, friendly, and were right there always to assist. When picking up the family member it was very easy to park in the main entrance area for one minute only...faster for pick-up than expected! DIFFENTLY this hospital is better for the certain procedure done!

I've been here lots to help my parents help my grandpa, and I haven't had bad exsperiances. But, because I haven't stayed here myself (expect for when I was born, but I obviously dont have any memories of that) I dunno if it's actually very good. So that's why I'm going it 4 stars. No bad exsperiances personally, but haven't only heard good things

Worst hospital ever. Be prepared to wait 7-10 hrs unless you have a gunshot wound or anaphylactic‘s. It’s very frustrating waiting this long for something that should only take 2-3 hrs top. They have very slow system of treatment. It is completely ridiculous wait times. No wonder people die in the waiting rooms unnoticed. Go to HSC it way better.

I was at Urgent Care at Concordia Hospital and be transferred to St-Boniface Hospital for a treatment of a group of specialists. I was very well taken care of by the doctors, the nurses and the staff. I’m very grateful and would not hesitate to recommend to any patient if you are admitted to St-Boniface Hospital. You will be in good hands !

Staff were all very professional and pleasant. The nurse had a great bedside manner. Everything was on schedule for my appointment; didn't have to wait too long. Overall, a good experience. Only thing that could be improved is some of the signs and directions seemed confusing, but the staff told me exactly where to go so it wasn't an issue.

I recently had a CT Scan. The staff, beginning with the receptionist who registered me, the man who guided me to where I had to go, and the nurses who attended to me were all exceptional. They took good care of me here. I was treated well during my unexpected trip to Emergency, the staff went above and beyond, testing me thoroughly to make sure I was safe to return home. Though the rooms themselves are showing some age, the place is clean and the cafeteria on the main floor serves some surprisingly tasty food too!

Went to emergency. Have to wait for a doctor for more than 4 hours. Poorly staffed I guess. Waiting along with positive patients for these much of hrs is very risky. Why authorities not taking anything seriously regarding the reviews posted here. Feels like living in a dangerous place with no medical support if something happens.

I called in to see how my girlfriend was doing and the receptionist was nothing but rude and condescending all because I had the gall to ask if my gf was awake to which this jackass goes off about how it's not a relevant question. Proceeds to hang up on me. Class act. Especially when dealing with a persons worried family members.

One star for the work environment. DO NOT work here unless you want to be highly understaffed, mandated constantly and pay a high price JUST to park your car where you WORK. If you happen to get a parking stall (dont) you'll be paying $117 per month! This is a very toxic work atmosphere and the board of directors want your money.

The worst service that I have been received in a hospital. I don’t believe this is happening in a “developed country”, 17 hours waiting in emergency like I would enjoy being there. The doctor told me since I can walk and I am breathing I should not be there. Honesty the medical system is better 1000% anywhere , except in Canada.

Worst waiting room service I've experienced in my life. Went with a swollen wrist , paralyzed thumb, no wrist mobility and a lot of pain. After 5 hours wait, a lot of sick people sitting elbow to elbow I left . They have the rudest staff who only stare and their phones! Never again I'll set foot in that place!

Terrible service. Fetus Ultrasound was half an hour later than my initial appointment. The technician was not considerable or very respectful. Sounded like she would rather order me than asked to do certain movements or change positions, she was also hurting me during the procedure pushing on the stomach too intensely.

This hospital is insane, like I'm actually surprised that this is a real hospital. How do people actually come here? They're so rude and disrespectful. They act like they're main characters on a show and everyone is just the background. It's been 2 years and I'm still surprised on how disrespectful they were to me.

Came in for a brain abscess I felt was about to burst, and was given lowest priority in the room, 11 hour wait, a guy that came in after me with a sore knee went in before me... absolutely mortified and documenting everything, im losing hearing in my left ear as I type this, and the back of my head feels numb.

We are here for delivery my baby in Women Child Unit. We feel very comfortable to delivery the new baby . All the staff is very very very helpful and cooperative . Dr Crow to deliver iur baby very gratefully because he found some obstacles in delivery but handle very calmly and did it normal. Thanks so much

Thought about coming here to have my my kid, but after all the reviews of terrible staff and hearing about surgical supplies being left in, definitely better off to go to Winkler and have it at Boundary Trails. By the sounds of this operation, any vet (particularly large animal) would be a nicer experience

After 17 hours sitting in ER. With chest pain I concluded I had 3 options Jump off the bridge around corner or walk in front of a bus or just go home! Absolutely pathetic situation Going forward if this is the new normal the whole waiting room needs to be replaced with say a bingo hall Kidding not kidding

This review is late in coming but I wanted to make special mention of Dr. Dr. Zoe Piggott. Just outstanding! Took her time, made my concerns feel validated. Scheduled an emergency procedure with one of her colleagues within 24 hours of my emergency room visit. I hope she is still here to stay.

I went with my husband this morning to the emergency room and the service was excellent! The staff, nurses and Dr. was so helpful and friendly. The waiting time according to the screen in the waiting room were 2.5 hours but I only waited an hour to be seen. I really recommend this hospital.

I recovered fast in this hospital! After I gave birth to my third child and the way nurses took care of me was awesome! They hllp me get thru everything! Pain and let me take my time to do everything. I'm very thankful for them! It was a great experience for me and my baby:) …

Bad bad bad, health neglect The nurses at the reception are really bad and so disrespectful. They don't care about the sick person. Such as Canadian you must be more respectful and I wish Ministry of Health see what's going on on there and what they do for old Canadian.

If you are less than 20 weeks pregnant and experiencing bleeding, go to HSC. St. B will Send you to emergency where the average waiting time is 8hrs while HSC would offer you care in a timely manner at Triage. You will also receive better treatment from staff at HSC.

I was super excited to be getting a vasectomy done as now I could go raw without worry, but after a visit to this hospital Dr Riley not only cut my manhood right off, he left it inside a woman who was getting a historectomy and now she's pregnant. So, not impressed

These people preformed a c section on a poor women, all was going well until she started to feel everything they were doing. She screamed and cried for them to help her and they laughed at her and kept going. This place has some of the worst reviews I’ve ever seen.

I got sent here from Victoria General with appendicitis. Was super nervous as I’ve never been hospitalized for anything before and I was supposed to have surgery. The Nurses and the surgical team were all very caring and compassionate.

Absolute horrible. Their policies of entering the hospital is inconsistent. Their mask and visitor policies are confusing. Although there are some nurses that are kind and caring, there are a bunch who are rude and arrogant.

Staff were all very professional and pleasant. The nurse had a great bedside manner. Everything was on schedule for my appointment but it's just too busy and loud for a hospital. I recomend going to Grace Hospital instead.

Do not trust there care without having an advocate the mla was notified immediately and they will be looking in to this severe incident that the doctor and nurse deliberately caused. Be aware of the care of this hospital

The staff are top notch very appreciative in all the time and energy the nurses put in. My only problem is I feel that I'm being forced to be released when I clearly know my own body and don't feel ready to go home.

Enjoyed my experience. For some reason, though, they kept telling me to "go away" and that I'm "not in need of medical assistance." Duh. I'm here for the food, obviously. Tbh, the food was kinda mid tho.
