Been a couple times now to the new location at the Cork & Screw Wine Garden & ohhhh myyy gahhhh this pizza is . It’s a NY style & it’s divineeee. Just go. Grab a bottle of wine next door & you’re set to eat in the garden or grab & go. You’ll thank me later. Pic doesn’t do this place justice but added one anyway.
Sammatro forgot the cheese… Literally how is this possible. Not to mention this was 2.5 hrs later from when we placed the order because they provided our Uber Eats driver with an incorrect time estimate. Add a slightly burnt crust and this was just a terrible experience. Lots of other good pizza places in Austin.
Honestly, one of the best pies of my life. My husband and I went today for the first time and ordered a pepperoni with garlic. It’s topped with basil and fresh parm. We were in heaven. The two guys working we’re super friendly and welcoming. All in all awesome experience, we will surely be back soon.
Honestly one of the better pizzas I’ve ever had. So simple and so delicious! The sauce is INCREDIBLE and the crust is a perfect height, not paper thin but not too thick with the prefect chew. Would recommend to anyone! Live music and string lights make for a fun atmosphere too.
Great Pizza! If someone told me Sammataro is their favorite pizza I'd believe them. I'm a jersey boy and this pizza is really good. Not a lot of Austin pizza makes me wanting more, and typically I make my own because of cost, but I will come back for Sammataro. For sure... More
Checked their website, google and yepl and it said this place was open on Saturday until 10pm. Drove over 30 min and it was closed. I wish I could say I would come back but update you’re times if your closing. The place did have shade and parking More
UPDATE: Sammataro made it right. They encouraged me to get the pizza fresh instead of through delivery service. When I picked up my new cheese and mushroom pizza it was divine! I did ask for them to add extra sauce on the base and I thought
Just a fantastic pizza with the great vibes of Camp East. The classic pizza hit the spot. To me, it’s like a perfect Brooklyn-Neapolitan hybrid with the best sauce. It tastes like eating a fresh, well-seasoned tomato. Not sweet at all. More
First time in Sammataro pizza and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing pizza, is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave
Great NY-style thin crust pizza that was thicker than the cracker style (e.g. East Side Pies) and seemed doughier than Home Slice and not just straight crunch. I’m a fan of the small pepperonis that curl up a bit when they get crispy. The
Good pizza - but judging from a price perspective, spending $40 for a pie is without a doubt inconceivable, even if it was served at a restaurant. I’m Italian and spent years in New York. Even at the best restaurant for the best Italian
I am so disappointed. I have been coming here weekly since they opened. I am a regular. I heard that the owners recently split up, leaving this location & la Volta under different management. I figured if anything Sammataro would stay
Overall an Ok experience. Pizza was good for a mid week casual spot but for Austin’s Pizza scene it’s sub par. Still a sweet spot. But it all depends how you like your pizza. For me 2.5 out of 5 I just don’t leave anything but 5 stars.
I found this restaurant on TikTok and we decided to head over for a late dinner (close to 930 pm!) Although the restaurant was busy, we got seated right away. Great vibe - very dark inside - red lights illuminate the dining room. Our
Wow. This unassuming outdoor food hut has one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a while. Reminding me of Lucali’s in Brooklyn, their pepperoni is incredible, with fresh basil and olive oil. My favorite part was the dough, that’s, again,
Best food truck pizza I’ve had. Probably one of the best pizzas in ATX. Kudos for having a real wood burning stove on the side of a food truck. ;) That’s as “Keep Austin Weird” as it gets. Wish I could come here more often - it too
Drove all the way down from Dallas to get this pie, irresistible, delightful, and filling pizza truck dishing out fresh ingredients along with kind, down to earth customer service. little on the expensive side of things but made
Wow! My wife and I went to Sammataro this afternoon to enjoy some pizza - we were pleasantly surprised that it’s not just a pizza joint. The outdoor space is pet-friendly, and a comfortable space for big and small groups.
When I tell you this place blew me away, it truly did just that. Everything from the restaurant, to the decor, to the service was amazing. The restaurant is in a great location, decorated like an italian cafe, and great
Seriously the best pizza you can get in austin! the vibes are immaculate and the service is impeccable! if i gave you one recommendation- it’s get the ranch! this is a staple for our friends and we love coming here!
Some of the best pizza in Austin!! The pizza is more Napoli style so thin crust and fresh. No such much cheese and oily. But omg it's blew us away. Prices are a bit steep for a food truck but well worth a try! More
The pizza was fine, but it tasted like any pizza you'd get at a sports bar. Which again, is fine, except that it costs almost $40. And it's pretty thin, so you're really not getting a ton of food for your money.
Great place for dinner with the girls or for date night. The service was great and the food was very tasty. Somewhat limited menu, but every dish we got exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend! More
Absolutely amazing! The vodka pizza is some of the best pizza I have had in all of Texas. Would absolutely recommend going for sit down, as the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are incredible. More
Sammataro has been on my list for quite some time. The pies were good but more expensive than I was expecting. You can’t get slices, just so you know, and it can get quite busy in the evenings. More
This could be So Much Better. There's an excellent wood-fired oven, but the pizzas for this review were coming out of a regular electric oven, so the review is based on that.
Hands down. The BEST Pizza in Austin. The menu is simple and just good ingredients. Service is super quick. Called in our order right after the opened and it was
What is there to say about a spot that already has a perfect score on reviews? The pizza is exceptional. Wood fired, simple ingredients and a great choice of
The pizza was good. They burned half of my crust. :/ Overall I personally enjoyed and preferred Desano's. However, try both you might like this one better.
TL;DR: I waited 85 minutes and paid $38 for a burnt pizza with sparse toppings. I like supporting local businesses, but I'm not going back to Sammataro.
Amazing pizza . A little on the pricier side but definitely worth it! The pizza was freshly made to perfection. The flavors were beyond belief.
Definitely the highest quality, most delicious NY style pizza in Austin. Second place is distant. It is pricey, but worth it in my opinion. More
Pizza was memorable, ordered the Supreme. Generous toppings: little pepperonis, mushies, shallots. $34 for a pie, pricey, but okay it was good.
The pizza was great, no questions. But definitely on the pricey side, especially when compared to other wood-burning pizzas in Austin.
When in Austin and hungry for pizza or a looking for good place to hang out. You have to stop by Sammataro and bring the crew.
Pizza was excellent! Great flavor with a perfectly thin crust! Definitely coming back soon!

These guys have a full blown wood fired oven hanging out the back of the trailer like establishment.
