"*** Ask about the boat tour*** My group had an excellent time"
"Free museum - educational a must see right next to great restaurants y shopping at the river walk area"
"The museum is small, 2 rooms but is packed with history"
"I don’t think i got much of an education on San Antonio as a whole in school"
Great experience at this little museum. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable giving detailed tours on the history of African Americans in San Antonio and in general. It only has two rooms but it still is loaded with unique rich information. I only wished they had more items the store. Admission is free so I really wanted to support by buying stuff from the store but they didn’t have much with the museum name on it ( I did still buy a t-shirt). I would highly recommend going here. It’s not that far from the other attractions and being that it is so small it won’t take that much time. It’s a great place to learn African American history.

*** Ask about the boat tour*** My group had an excellent time. I believe the location is an historical site. It has an amazing timeline of events that are significant to African American culture. Ms.Mya gave us a tour complete with details. The SAACAM is quaint but has quintessential information for Black history in San Antonio and beyond. They do have a transportation section with a replica of Ms. Rosa Parks seat from the launch of the bus boycott. Enjoyed my time at the SAACAM. I was also able to purchase a mug and add a donation to the SAACAM, I recommend you to do the same.

Free museum - educational a must see right next to great restaurants y shopping at the river walk area. We loved it my son watched the video twice. They also have beautiful gift shop with jewelry too. Even an interactive screen to read newspapers from the past! (can make donations if like or visit website to contribute your own family’s black history to be considered )

The museum is small, 2 rooms but is packed with history. It is a place to reflect and to not be rushed. The docents were excellent and able to describe and expound on the different pieces. There were rocking chairs on the front porch and a patio area in the back of the building.

I don’t think i got much of an education on San Antonio as a whole in school. This museum sheds light on milestones and advancements that I feel you had to be there to experience. I found myself reading most of the exhibits and was there for around 20 minutes.

Sam was lovely and showed us around. A small museum but well worth a visit and right around the corner from the entrance to La Villita. Really focuses on accomplished black folks from San Antonio and the La Villita area.

Very quaint place. A bit smaller than I thought it would be, but the young lady was very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. My wife and grandkids had a nice visit and the Alamo was only an eight minute walk away.

Very informative, and well kept small homey looking educational business. I love the tour and also the African American Art that they have if interested. A great way to have honor Juneteenth.

My family and I enjoyed our time at the SAAACAM. I believe the young lady working the day we visited was Sandra. She was awesome. She gave us a great tour with a lot of information and answered all of our questions.

Please do yourself a favor and take about 30 minutes of your time to stop in and support this place. It doesn't take long to get through the 2 room house but you will learn an incredible amount.

Small museum with historically interesting display! Bring your jacket...they cool it down to 68F - too cold for enjoying and staying longer :( The audio in the interesting video on display is very bad - please fix it!
Visited the museum with my husband. Deborah was very friendly and welcoming. The museum was put together nicely and we enjoyed our time there. Also great prints for sale in the gift shop

Maybe need to call ahead first. Website says it's open, but when we got here it's all locked up. They close during fiesta.
