During my recent visit to Edmonton, I had the pleasure of staying in the Grand Suite at Sandman Signature. From the moment I stepped into the suite, I was captivated by its elegance and luxurious ambiance. I must say, my experience at this hotel surpassed all expectations. The Grand Suite at Sandman Signature was a true haven of comfort and style. The spacious living area, tastefully decorated with modern furnishings, instantly made me feel at home. The suite boasted a separate bedroom with a plush king-size bed that ensured a restful night's sleep. The attention to detail in the design and layout of the suite was truly remarkable. The amenities provided in the suite were outstanding. The fully equipped kitchenette allowed me to prepare snacks and light meals at my convenience. The in-room entertainment system, complete with a large flat-screen TV and a selection of channels, provided ample entertainment options. The complimentary Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, making it easy for me to stay connected during my stay. The bathroom in the Grand Suite was a luxurious retreat in itself. The marble fixtures, the spacious bathtub, and the rainfall shower offered a touch of indulgence. The hotel provided high-quality toiletries and fluffy towels, adding to the overall pampering experience. The service at Sandman Signature was impeccable. The staff members were friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was flawless. From the efficient check-in process to the prompt room service, their attention to detail was commendable. The hotel staff were always available to assist with any inquiries or requests I had, making me feel valued as a guest. One of the standout features of Sandman Signature was the on-site dining options. The hotel's restaurant served delicious meals throughout the day, and I thoroughly enjoyed the culinary delights offered. The breakfast buffet was a particular highlight, with a wide selection of fresh and flavorful dishes to choose from. The hotel's location in Edmonton was convenient for exploring the city. It was close to major attractions and shopping districts, making it easy to venture out and discover the vibrant city life. The hotel also offered convenient parking facilities, which was a great convenience for guests with vehicles. In conclusion, my stay at Sandman Signature Grand Suite in Edmonton was truly exceptional. The luxurious suite, excellent amenities, top-notch service, and convenient location made it a remarkable experience. I would highly recommend Sandman Signature to anyone seeking a lavish and comfortable retreat in Edmonton. I cannot wait to return to this exquisite hotel for my next visit to the city.

We never had any bad interactions with anyone and never felt unsafe we walked to the oilers game that night and came back late and also walked the the museum both enjoyable experience and recommend. The hotel is your basic hotel nothing to fancy at least our room wasn’t there is a pool and gym, also Chop restaurant is in the hotel and does room service which we used and was really good and fast. My only complaint with the hotel itself is the elevators you have to use your keycard to get to your floor and when I was in the gym my card demagnetized so I had to walk down 15 floors to get back to my level and had my wife let me back in.

We came to Edmonton for the game and this hotel was 2 blocks away. We needed a place to sleep and that’s about all this place is good for. You can’t go to other floors with ur key, only your floor. Which is a great privacy practice but not when there’s only ice machines on select floors. No vending machines and also no free water so I guess drink sink water? The hotel advertised that you had to be 16 and over to use the pool. Which was the main selling point for this hotel but when we got down there, plenty of kids were diving and splashing in the pool making it that u could not go in the pool and there was a random couple basically eating each other’s faces in the hot tub. Service was friendly and were helpful when our keys just stopped working. Yes the keys stop working quite frequently. The room itself wasn’t to bad, I’d recommend bringing ur own pillows because it felt like they were just stuffed with paper. You can’t rent movies and there’s not really any good channels on the tv. The area the hotel is in is dangerous and quite dingy. All you can smell is cheap weed and cigarettes. Room service doesn’t actually exist, you order from chop for pick up and when it says it’s open it’s not, they also don't have the full menu so don’t expect to “room service” a nice breakfast. Overall it was not worth $400 for two nights.

We stayed in Edmonton to attend the Garth Brooks concert. They charged us $450 for ONE night stay in the dirtiest and most run down room possible. There was actually dust and dirt on ledges and window sills. Never been cleaned! Finishes in the room weren’t complete and old reno damage was visible. There was damage to the walls and room everywhere we looked. The couch in the room had stains of god knows what all over it, we didn’t want sit on it and we felt for certain that the rest of the furniture was just as dirty under all the sheets. I wish I also got pictures of the hallways because they were extremely water damaged at the baseboards just outside our room (2014). I understand they try to charge more when events are happening in town, but if you’re going to charge top dollar, make sure the room and hotel are WORTH asking that kind of money for. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone and we will never stay here or with this chain again. Also, for being on the 20th floor, it’s VERY concerning that we had a window that was able to open and large enough for a small child or even small adult to get out of. They also charge you $16 for what is considered a continental breakfast at every other hotel. Make your own toast and cereal for $16? No thank you! You also have to pay for parking on top of the astronomical room fees. This hotel is dirty, unprofessional and unsafe!

Update: stayed at this hotel again and it continues to live up to the 5 star rating. Staff were so accommodating and friendly. We were able to stay in the grand suite which was very roomy and lovely as we were able to comfortably host my sister and brother in law for an evening. The hotel connects via walkways to many of the neighbouring buildings including the city centre mall, which is quite convenient. Thank you so much to the staff that made the stay so enjoyable. We will see you again in a few weeks!! Previous review: Nice downtown hotel for the price. The room was showing its age a little but nothing major. Great location if you need to be downtown. Staff were all friendly. Pool area is small but clean also not wheelchair accessible as there is no elevator access and you do need to walk up a flight of stairs to get there. The pool does have large window and a great view as it is on the 27th floor. Parking isn't bad, they directed us next door to the bell tower underground parking with a over the street walkway between the two buildings.

I really enjoyed this hotel. There were a lot of places to grab a bite to eat in and around the lobby area, our room was pretty nice, and we had a pleasant interaction with the staff. I feel like for what we paid that our experience was really great. It's also close to a lot of other restaurants, the local library, and the museum, so it's definitely a great location for a hotel. I only have a few minor complaints. First, the window in our room was very filthy and was unpleasant to look at. We had a nice view of the city but it was impossible to enjoy it through that window. Our room was also very cold, even with the AC off. The pool is great and the view from the top floor is really nice, but it's a bit of a hike to get up there and I worry about accessibility for some guests. Our friends paid for parking and still received a ticket; they problem was resolved but it was frustrating nonetheless. None of these things ruined our visit and I would love to stay here again, but it would be great if some of these issues could be resolved in the meantime.

Love this hotel! I stay here every time I visit Edmonton and always have a top-notch experience. Super-friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms with views, updated a/c for summer comfort, great amenities (love the top-level pool & hot tub), central location with Pedway access to Ice District, plus I always sleep incredibly well. Unbeatable value, will definitely be back!

Booked this hotel for an Edmonton Oilers game. Definitely not the nicest to get to. The hotel from pull in parking is very small and any amount of your car in the taxi lane will result I’m a ticket from personal experience. The parking garage is around the building at the time of our check in the lane was under construction and the parking garage was down to 1 lane entering. The hotel is located very close to rogers Center and perfect for staying the night if in town for a game. You need to use the room key to access elevator in the evening. The pool/gym is also located one floor above the last floor the elevator access. So you’ll need to walk up another set of stairs. So access is some what limited. The room was nice but the large armoire at the end of the room had food crumbs and wrappers left under it. Bedding was clean and soft. There is a bar located in the lobby and lots of restaurants in close proximity of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel as long as your not a diva.

Stayed here 4 nights for an event at Roger’s place. The location is great for that - connected with an above ground walkway right to Roger’s place - connected to the Edmonton Center Mall and other amenities. Service was good. The room was ok - it was clean but if feels like could use an update -Tv cabinet was a bit beat up , the mini fridge was missing a leg - so I had to prop a face cloth under it then it was good ( it was turned off when I checked in ) do I had to wait for it to get cold. The room was hot in the evening ( 16th floor ) the AC could not keep up. Parkade was full when we got there so had to park a block away at Bell tower parkade ( actually cheaper ) but it is connected by a walkway. Drop off can be challenging if a lot of people are checking in as the drop off fits approx 3 to 4 cars. All that said I would book again as it’s convenient for Roger’s place.

I was stranded in a snowstorm coming up to Edmonton this week. I had to make the trip last minute for work, and a usual 3 hour trip from Calgary became a 9 hour trip because of bad roads and parts of the #2 highway being closed. I was going to be getting in late, and when I called to book at this hotel, the front desk staff couldn't be bothered to help me with a possible late check-in. They told me if I arrived after 3, I would not be able to check in because their system "switches over." With no guarantees on a non refundable booking, I had to pass on booking here and move on to a more accommodating hotel. ***Edit based on reply from hotel: The hotel was not sold to capacity. The front desk informed me that there were rooms I just could not book in after 3 due to policies***

“Executive suite”. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotel over the years and for over $200 this is what we got. It was like it wasn’t even cleaned. The blackout drapes were ripped off the tracks, the couch in the room was absolutely disgusting, pop tabs all over the room. The lamps were in shambles, the glass on the side stands were barely on the table. The bathroom looked like it was repaired 20 times over the years, the shower looked as if it wasn’t cleaned in months. The elevators were broken and we got caught in the maze stairwell and got locked into some corridor. We used the phone on the wall to help get out us and the front desk asked why we didn’t use the elevator. Highly suggest you find another hotel. Once they have your money they don’t care about anything else. Pretty sad from a customer service stand point.

My room was very beautiful and very clean. I am a housekeeping supervisor so I always inspect rooms before my stay and this was a beautiful one! Starbucks coffee in the king suite and a very nice view. My suite also came with robes to use during our stay which was so nice! The pool had no towels unfortunately but it was still a nice chill area. The front desk allowed us to stay 30 mins extra past checkout which was so kind. Housekeeping is amazing this hotel is spotless! I only give 4 stars because I had issues finding a working ice machine and the towels not being at the pool was inconveniencing. I will still be back! The staff was very sweet. I was also able to hook up my own roku to the TV which is very nice because some hotels lock the TV so you can only use cable. Beautiful lobby

Room was pretty dirty. Don't believe it had been properly cleaned in a very long time. Specifically in the bathroom. Piles of "crud" in the corners. The bathroom exhaust vent was black with fuzz. The toilet ran continuously and was annoying to listen to. Not to mention the needless waste. Otherwise... Bed was very comfortable and cozy. Definitely not what I expected based on the quality and name of the hotel. One star for the comfort of beds. One for the view and speed of elevators.

Thank you for a perfect stay. From check-in to checkout it was a great hotel experience. Super friendly and helpful staff, room spotless and we even received an unexpected room upgrade. Special thanks goes to Kaylee at front desk who never got tired of my thousand questions and who was always there when I walked by front desk. Day and night ... Does Sandman ever allow her to take time off ? ;) Seriously, very pleasant experience and very friendly staff. We also dined at Chop and received perfect service there by Christina and especially Amal. Thank you so much. We had 3 wonderful days in Edmonton and the hotel and restaurant teams were a big part of that. Coming back soon.

The location is convenient, and the room was nice, but the service... I confess I'm not a fan of "we won't service your room unless you ask," but this isn't the only hotel that I've experienced this at. That said, when I request it, my room should be serviced. I asked to have my room refreshed. The garbage was emptied, so someone obviously came, but the bed wasn't fixed, not all of the amenities were replaced, and a surface that needed wiping down wasn't wiped. This was the first of two stays I booked at a Sandman hotel, so I'm hoping my experience was an anomaly and the next one will be better.

Where do I start.. There was hair in the shower and on the bathroom walls from a previous clients. The mini fridge has orange spots, like they didn't clean that back of it. There were tons of scratches / stains on the walls, all the lamps had one bulb instead of two and the lamp shades were missing on two of the lamps, holes in wall around the light fixtures, all the touch up paint on the walls / doors was like it was done by a 2 year old learning to color for the first time. The whole hotel outside of the lobby felt outdated by 15 years and has a soddy maintenance team, that doesn't seem care about the small things.

I came to the hotel to have dinner at CHOP with my husband for his birthday. The restaurant is split up into two floors, with the lounge being on the main floor and the quieter dining room area being upstairs. We were told by hotel staff that we weren't allowed to take the elevator, so we had to walk up their three staircases and then down a long hallway just to get to our table. On our way back, the hallway door we had walked through was suddenly locked, and we had to call for help to be let out. If you're going to have a restaurant area upstairs, provide elevator service. I have a disability and going up the stairs was really hard. Dinner was amazing though. Just disappointed with how difficult it was to get there.

Previously known as Sutton Place, the Sandman Suites is priced very competitively. When all Marriott properties were $250+, this property provided good respite. The rooms are clean and service is great. Water bottles, room service and normal pillows are available on demand. The hotel provided pillows are rough on the neck and very uncomfortable. My bed squeaked as you turned around on your back to the side. The view of Edmonton downtown was great. Given that I am staying there next week, the front desk has assured me that they will take care of both issues.

It is my pleasure to comment on my wonderful experience at this hotel. My apartment building had a fire and we all had to be out permanently. As a result I stayed at the hotel for 1 1/2 months. To make the situation more challenging I'm also disabled with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The hotel was a fabulous place to live during this difficult time. I found everyone who worked there to be top notch and they were always a pleasure to interact with. The hotel and my rooms were highly attractive. I found it to be most convenient to have a mall right across the street. Being downtown there are all kinds of amenities close by. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

I love retro and Sandman nails it. Everything is so adorably 90s here. The real treat was a vintage thermostat from '78! Wow, the craftsmanship back then. If you have warm drinks, come play hide and seek with the ice machine. Make sure to bring your card so you don't get locked on the wrong floor while you play. The only thing not like the old days around here is the parking. At $28, it includes heated clown car spots with zero guarantees or responsibility for your vehicle. That's very 2020s.

I checked in on Saturday at 3:00 pm. I was not impressed that I found food behind my night table. I have requested multiple times to the front desk regarding this issue in my room. And as well they didn't do anything to fix the issue. I had to call the district area manager regarding these issues. And he fixed the issue right away. I think that the customer should be offered a discount or something different. Cause loyal Customers are hard to find. I hope in the near future on my next stay this will not happen. Thank You. best regards Le

We stayed for the second time here, this time they changed their cleaning service to something you have to request a day before even if you only want to make the bed, take the garbage out or replenish toiletries or coffee/tea, so we didn’t like that (that in our opinion still should be automatic and does not impact environment which is the reason why implemented new cleaning service). The main reason why we choose this hotel for the second time was the Chop restaurant, unfortunately we had unpleasant experience with the manager of the restaurant this time and we won’t be staying at this hotel in the future.

Had our truck broken into in the underground parking, we parked right infront of a camera yet security couldn’t retrieve the footage for some mysterious reason (I smell an inside job) security guard acted unbothered by the matter and was completely useless pretended like he took a few photos on his iPhone. What is the point of a security guard: a person employed to protect a building against intruders or damage. Which sandman’s employee failed to do. I have the feeling he was in on it and helped whoever broke into our vehicle….

The rooms were awesome. And the beds were soooo comfy. The view is just fantastic from the higher floors. Pool area was a bit of a mess. But, it was on the very top floor and the view from up there was incredible. Reason why I'm giving a 4 star review. Was that we weren't aware that we had to pay for parking. And we ordered from the restaurant downstairs for room service. It was incredibly expensive and I probably could of ate 3 of what I ordered. .I wouldn't recommend room service if you're starving. But other than that. It was a great time.

The staff was very professional, and informative. As someone who doesn't come to the city often, they were able to give perfect directions for the underground parking, and make it so the time stayed there was relaxing. Room was great, good view from the 25th floor. My wife was able to take advantage of the pool in this location. It was a great place to stay. It's an older building but very well kept. The rooms were clean and it is literally a one block walk to the arena. The staff were very helpful and courteous. If you are going in for a hockey game try to arrive early if you want $25 parking under the building. If you have kids I would suggest you bring a bag full of snacks and drinks. That sort of thing is either not available or very expensive in that area.

The price tag was not worth the average room and the charge for parking was ridiculous. You would think parking at a hotel would be free since odds are you're driving there. I have stayed here a few times . My first time my 5 year old daughter gets a chance to go to the pool. Her and my Neice got racist remarks! Wow! This is so uncalled for..rarely to a 5year old child. She looks Caucasian to. Should matter we are guests we pay for our Stay, like anyone else!!

If you leave any items here and you confirm with their housekeeping they will hold onto your items its a complete lie, and their staff will steal your stuff. Also the rooms are not kept the cleanest. There's plenty of respectable hotels and this isn't one of them.

Not much of a great experience! Rooms were stinky, the refrigerator was leaking, bathroom locks were not working. The dryer was broken. No bathroom soap was provided for some reason. The hotel from the lobby seems luxurious enough but the rooms are just not worth the price. Staff is friendly tho. Hopefully they work on these things.

MAGNIFICENT! My room was larger than some entire apartments I’ve visited in Toronto. Everything was impeccably clean, conveniently located, quiet, and peaceful. It was lovely having Chop on-site for an easy dinner option, and Denny’s as well for a surprisingly good breakfast option. Cannot wait to return!

We got an upgraded room last night on the 26th floor There’s a constant noise, sounds like a cement truck running all the time. It’s so loud. Don’t stay on the 26 floor if you like sleep I’ve stayed on other floors here all ok

Hotel is old but renovated, heating and cool was inconsistent which ruin my night. Tried calling the front desk but with one person working no one answered or called back. Pool is decent , chop steak house is a great addition to the hotel.

We are currently staying in the grand suite and couldn’t be happier. It’s a little tricky getting into the parkade due to construction but the hotel is extremely clean and luxuriously appointed in our room. Room service was reasonable and very fast. Front desk staff go above and beyond.

Rooms need some updates to them, but the staff was awesome. The ladies on the check in desk were so polite and happy to help us out

Clean rooms and amazing service. We were here for the JUNOs, and the place was busy and bustling with activity. The best place to stay if you’re planning on attending any event at the Roger’s Center, as they’re all connected via walk ways, so you never have to be outside.

Great service nice room . The only problem is you haft to pay 28.00 per day for parking under ground parking

It was an ok room. I can smell cigarette smoke in my room, apparently my colleagues smelt it too. Likely coming from the vents.

There was a little bit of technical problem during check-in(system seems down) but Junard in the front desk managed it so well. He is very professional in handling the situation and helped us all to smoothly check-in. Thumbs up to Junard.

If I could give a -5 star I would. We stayed there in April and everything was fantastic. We didn't realize that the ownership has changed, so booked again for new year's eve. Everything was bad from there on, the receptionist would keep

I stayed on this hotel for 3 days last week, I never seen such a poor and terrible service. for any single item you need you have to go to front desk on the first floor to ask for item shower cap, shampoo, towel, tissues .... , the air

I was on the top floor, the view is the absolute best, and the hot tub is the best I’ve gone to. I would come back again.

Perfect location for me to stay while my husband was in the Royal Alexandra Hospital for medical travel. Very friendly front desk staff. The restaurant, Chops is excellent, too. More

Parking was spacious and underground. It's $25 (which is standard downtown) I was able to check in early. Room was nice, comfy bed. Pool and hot tub on the top floor was nice.

Lined up to check in and lady let some guy just cut me off checking in. Why did I get booked here. Next time no next time.

A friend unfortunately forgot some clothes in her room. Despite emails and calls quickly after she left, she got no answer from the hotel to know if they had collected them.

Beds were super comfy but no ac which was awful. Conference area is a bit out of date. Also getting to the front of the building to park to check in is a challenge . More

HVAC controls isn't working, I caught a massive cold because I couldn't turn off the AC.
