Today I was in this branch november 10th 2023 it's where I always go almost 2 years, poor customer service. I went to fix why can't I log into my mobile app, teller says you have no internet then says we have no wifi you can call our 1800#, then you have no internet again after I show her the pop up that happens when I go to log in. Frustrating to continually try to get this female indian teller to understand, I was not yelling but talking loud and a bit fast but I am handicapped, but this teller could have said I can't fix this from my computer you can't log into your phone and I have no in house reps available to help you using there computers, the only help I can offer you is to have you call our 1800# and they can assist you in figuring out your log in issues sir and that would have been great, that would have been good customer service and it would have ended this situation but no I get the teller suddenly holding up the sign that says abuse will not be tolerated, how am I abusing you by explaining what's going on and trying to get your help? You could have said your talking very loud sir could you please lower your voice! I did use and profane or foul language. Nope just no customer service skills, then another female teller comes over and says we don't like how your talking to her leave! My reply go f yourself her reply now you can definitely leave! For her I say do you know how both you & the other teller made me the handicapped customer feel? When you came over you should have said what seems to be the problem here sir? A question that I would have had to answer and it would have changed the entire situation again no customer service skills. I left this branch and came back for what? I realize I am a nobody and very little money, bills are paid, bank fees paid, nothing to use to trade forex and make the bank thousands of dollars using my money if I had money. Read your reviews these customers are not lying. I stood in line here last week watching a female customer asking a new female indian teller ok I gave you 3500$ Canadian cash how much is it usa? The teller did not understand the customer and said something that did not make sense so the customer repeated herself and the teller gave a different answer then it went on until the customer was frustrated and she thoroughly explained no all I want to know is how much usa money am I getting for $3500 Canadian dollars? I watched all of it. Like how many times does the customer have to explain what they need or are asking you the bank teller?
I went to put a cheque in at this branch. The first thing she says is we are going to have to put a hold on the cheque. I inform her it says right on my account that there is no holds on the account. I also inform her I've worked for the company for 10 years so there's no reason it should be held anyway. She then asks me if it is a USD cheque. Wouldn't the fact that it has a Canadian address give her a clue? As a teller shouldn't you be able to distinguish Canadian cheques from USA cheques? I tell her no it is a Canadian cheque. She then starts telling me about a totally different company I work for from the USA. She then tells me it says here you work for a USA company. I inform her I work both for Canadian and USA companies. At this point I'm totally frustrated with her and take back the cheque. I tell her I'll go elsewhere. So now I have to go somewhere else to put my cheque in. A big inconvenience for me. I dont get another day off until Sunday and Scotiabank is not open then. I now have to wait for 1 week to put in.the bank! Maybe I'll put it in at the instabank. That way I won't have to deal with hellacious tellers. It was a young East Indian woman. I've dealt with other employees at this branch who were very proficient at their job. It wasn't the case this time.
Teller Error - instead of looking closer at all account teller transfers money from MOMENTUM account, point out his error and he immediately puts money back as a correction. VIOLA that restarted the Momentum portion and did not receive dividends. Try to get this solved is like PULLING TEETH. OMG come on Scotia Bank. At least get in touch with me instead of keeping me waiting DAYS. We are now on Day six of trying to get THEIR ERROR remedied but I WAIT more. The reason for one star is that I have had issues with bank in the past and the lack of getting in touch with me and I have to call some help desk that only tells me that the bank needs to call me is USELESS in resolving the situation. OH BTW it was only 4 days left for the momentum a the time of error. NO pay out and now 84 days remaining. But do you think Scotia Bank fixes this,, What Could have been simple error now ITS A HUGE ERROR.
When I first got my mortgage, this branch registered two mortgages with TransUnion when I only had one. I only found out when I was denied a credit card by another bank despite having good credit, a reasonably small mortgage, and a job as an RN. Effectively ruined my credit for the couple months it took TransUnion to investigate and correct the issue because my alleged debt was so high (double what it was in reality). The credit bureau said it would have taken the branch a week to correct but the branch gave me the run around and wouldn't return messages or give me an appointment. They only finally responded after I got legal advice and sent an email to a higher up but by this time the issue was long resolved by TransUnion. The whole thing looked like complete incompetence in my opinion.
I was really dissapointed with them. Talked to someone on the phone about porting a mortgage and was told me and my wife would be approved for about 550k. When we finally talked to someone on the branch, we were only approved for 300k. We have good credit and our salaries are a fair bit higher now. We were really surprised with the very low amount that they want to approve. Insulting to be honest. Maybe they don't want us to port our mortgage and dont want to give us our good rate.
I would like to give five star to this branch thanks to the manager of this branch Chenda she was so kind and so helpful to me and my husband my husband was in wheelchair and we needed some assistance and she personally came and helped us what a great Service thanks Scotiabank to have good people like chenda in your branch it helps a lot I would recommend all my friends and family to come to this branch thanks
Anil Sharma didn't follow up on my being charged through TIPP and in my morgage payment through them ( that I caught during renewal) and then when I called him out in paying two interest fees he actually rasied his voice to me. I got a new adviser but this guy is totally unprofessional. At the end after having words with each other he tried to sell me some service. Truly yucky experience.
My parents bank with them but I would advise against that for many reasons. They just don't have what I would look for in a "Bank". Honestly you will save yourself a lot of trouble if you just sign up with someone more reputable in the 1st place. I say that with good reason obviously as I know a lot of people who've been screwed over. So leasons learned of course.
I’ve have been with Scotia bank for almost an year, their service is pretty decent. Whether it’s a chequing account or savings account, they have got what you need. The staffs are super helpful and nice, in branches or online. The app is easy to use, letting me check balances and move money around without a fuss. Scotia Bank makes banking simple and stress-free.
This branch was amazing so helpful staff especially shafik and nikita and the manager did his best to help me with my problem. To be honest this branch doesnt deserve to have bad reviews meanwhile i went to falconridge and castleridge branches they were very bad and the staff super rude will not step there anymore shame on these people
Scotiabank in general has been deteriorating in customer service over the last 5-10 years, but this specific location takes the cake for worst customer service I've experienced in 18 years at Scotiabank. You would think that after 18 years you might get treated like a trusted, loyal customer, but this is not the case.
Jennifer has been my go-to advisor for a few years now. She is always professional and provides great insight and advice with transparency. I never have a sense that her solutions are presented with fluff or any car-salesman-like undertones, which is what I greatly appreciate when working with my finances.
Never had a problem with Scotiabank until I moved to Calgary & started using this branch. Its as if they don't want/care about their customers. If you have to use Scotiabank my advice would be find a different branch with a competent manager.
If their was a way I could give the ½ star I would, and yet thats too much for them, so zero start would best suit them. They had to hold my money until next week, but when I went to another brunch they they told me they can release it.
Left TD and went here, truly amazing from the first meeting with Nash she made us fill as we were already long time customers. Hands down the best bank we have dealt with our kids will open their first banks here
Really disappointed with there respond. Would never visit this branch. Absolutely stupid branch. happy with other branches of scotia helped me out for same thing which this branch denied.
If I could pick a zero I would! I've been with BNS for decades! Time to go! USELESS is best description! Can't even phone a human anymore under an hour wait! LAFFABLE!
Impossible to call and talk to someone. You go through all the prompts only to sit on hold until you have had enough of the annoying music. Problem solved ? Never.
Absolutely the worst bank I've ever dealt with. Can't wait to switch. Also the worst hours too. Customer service...even worse
It's the worst bank to deal with people that work here doesn't know how to their job properly
