**AVOID RENTING – Extremely Immoral and Shady Property Management - Extremely loud and not quiet - see video** I want to share my awful experience at Sentral Apartments, so you can avoid falling into the same trap of dishonest practices and terrible living conditions. It is crucial that you know the truth about this place before making the mistake of signing a lease. Sentral Apartments makes big promises about providing an amazing and peaceful living environment. But let me tell you, those promises are nothing but lies designed to deceive people like me. The reality is that Sentral Apartments intentionally lied to me about how noisy the units are, and it resulted in a complete disregard for my well-being. When I spoke with Karyn, one of their employees, she assured me that noise wouldn't be a problem. She even claimed that the windows in the units were designed to block out most of the noise. Well, let me tell you, that couldn't be further from the truth. After moving in, I quickly discovered that there was an outdoor bar right outside my window that played loud music until 2 am every single night. They conveniently failed to mention this when I was prospecting. The noise at Sentral Apartments was unbearable, making it impossible to sleep or focus on anything within my own home. They simply didn't care about my well-being. In fact, when I expressed my desire to terminate my lease due to the unbearable living conditions, the property manager responded callously with, "What do you want me to do about it?" To make matters worse, they forced me to pay an outrageous amount of fees that equates to 5 months of rent, even though I only stayed in the unit for three days before realizing the truth and deciding to leave. It is clear that Sentral Apartments values their profits over the happiness and satisfaction of their residents. Their lack of integrity and shady practices should serve as a warning to anyone considering renting from them. Nobody should have to go through the physical and emotional stress that I endured, nor should they be treated as an inconvenience when raising valid concerns. I urge all potential renters to stay away from Sentral Apartments. Don't be fooled by their false promises and misleading claims. This is not a place where you will find peace or be treated with respect. Instead, you will find yourself trapped in a never-ending nightmare, with your concerns being completely ignored. By sharing my story, I hope to protect others from the same awful experience I had at Sentral Apartments. Nobody deserves to live in such a place, where tenants are treated as unimportant and their well-being is disregarded. **Update in response to Sentral's Comment - Unfortunately, I am not the first person to complain about sound, and there is a very thorough addendum included within the lease that voids all responsibility of Sentral for their commercial partners / neighborhood. Therefore, in any instance of sound at any time of the day, Sentral bears no responsibility. For a property management company who claims that they "care about their residents", having such a strict addendum coupled with a response of "what do you want me to do about it" speaks another story.**

One of the best buildings you can live in in Austin, I cannot recommend this place enough. It may be a little expensive and apartments are pretty small but the management team, secure parking and overall safety of this building make up for it. Management is always available whether it be in person or by email, maintenance is quick to fix whatever you need, and the building is well kept. The only negatives I've been able to find with this building are people leaving out their trash 24/7 (the building has tried to reprimand this once since I moved in but it didn't do much, this is also a problem many buildings that have with trash valet) and not being able to buzz people into the building such as delivery people. HOWEVER the fact that no one can be buzzed in and you can't use the elevator without a fob adds so much security to the building its worth having to go down stairs to let people in. Being a young female who lives alone, the security you feel in this building and the parking garage(unfortunate to have to pay $100 for parking but it makes sense on such a popular street that has only pay parking) has been such a positive for me. Additionally, I can't speak to the thin walls much because I live on the top floor so its relatively quiet. You can definitely hear neighbors next door but honestly it's probably just because the apartments are so tiny. Also want to mention that one of the biggest positives of this apartment has been NO BUGS! This is such a rare find in any apt in Austin and has made living here so much more enjoyable. Overall, I really recommend this place, it might not be the most extravagant building with tons of amenities but if you're looking for reliable management, safety and being in the center of E 6th this place is so worth the money.

After talking in depth with and frequently visiting someone who lives here: Pros: good management team, nice/new facility, and location. Cons: 1. Parking spots are tiny and the whole garage just feels cramped. Luckily right now they are still trying to fill the complex with residents and so there are lots of empty spaces to maneuver around and get in/out easily. But when it gets to full capacity parking is going to be a nightmare. I would not trust parking a nice car here because getting nicked/scratched seems so likely. Not to mention they charge you an arm and a leg for parking. Also there is no guest parking. 2. The insulation sucks more than other apartments- you can definitely hear the neighbors on your floor and above you which gets pretty obnoxious. 3. There is absolutely no way to let guests in except literally coming down to the building entrance and taking them up to your floor. Even if they are able to get into the building during business hours, unless you live on the first floor, the guest can't use the stairs or elevator because they only work with a fob. 4. They do have a gym but it is tiny and don't even have a treadmill. I realize some of these things are more important than others. But I wanted to give a very honest review so people can decide for themselves what is/isn't as important to them.

Great options for all your essential living needs plus high ceilings! I needed a place to stay short-term that was fully furnished and was not having any luck for a while until I found Indie. Not only was the leasing agent Rendell really helpful in letting me know all possible options that suited my needs, he was also very patient with me being a picky and wanting to know all the details including recommendations for grocery shopping, food, and entertainment. He went above and beyond to even give me quotes and information on the sister property Candela. I ended up choosing Indie because it fit more within my budget. You can beat the price for the location. Everything you need is within walking distance - No car needed. The management team is great and the property isn't super huge so you really get a good sense of community here. When I first moved in, the apartment wasn't as clean as I'd like (not the leasing office's fault) however, Rendell was super responsive and worked with management to offer a cleaning credit to use at my convenience. :) I would highly recommend living at Indie for anyone that wants an affordable, flexible living space in the ever-growing East Side of Austin.

I used to live here and I just want to say I feel for the residents during this trying time. Tiny, tiny apartments and you can literally hear every step your upstairs neighbor takes. Great if you like to go out a lot. Not great if you're literally forced to remain inside for god knows how long. I did love living here, though. Great location, really nice to feel "in the mix" even if you weren't going out every weekend. Neighbors are nice. Only other major flaw is parking. Parking should be FREE for residents (I don't care if you're on 6th Street, parking should be included). Unlike the units, the parking garage is so poorly designed and tight that several people I know (including myself) messed up their car when they parked there. I am kind of a bad driver though, so I can't fully blame Indie for that. Overall 4/5. Would recommend if you don't have a lot of stuff and want to be close to cool bars and restaurants. Would not recommend if you're in quarantine. God help us all.

I just moved in at the beginning of May, but I had been in the process since March. Caitlin made the whole transition moving from another city so wonderful. I felt like I had my own personal helper! All of the leasing agents are friendly and the communication is amazing. It’s a new building so as expected, there have been a few small bumps but none that aren’t resolved quick. They try to make things as comfortable and convenient as possible and are always communicative on anything going on with construction. I really just love the overall communication and attitude of the staff team. As for the space, it’s beautiful and quaint - perfect for someone like me, especially since I travel a lot for my job. All the extra storage!!! Still getting furniture in and arranging the place, but slowly making it cozy! Plus c’mon, those finishes are GORGEOUS! And everyone who lives here seems to be really friendly. Nice neighbors don’t hurt.

Beautiful apartment. Wonderful amenities. Excellent leasing and maintenance teams. What more could you ask for? I unexpectedly started working from home at the beginning of my first lease due to the pandemic. Luckily, Sentral is the perfect place in Austin to do that - the apartment is comfortable, quiet, and maintenance issues are typically resolved within the hour. Then my sister needed to move in towards the end of my second lease, and Alex made the process pain-free. Emme from leasing even helped resolve an emergency situation on Christmas Eve (!) as we were leaving for dinner. I've been unable to attend most of the resident events due to work and family obligations, but they always look so fun (I've seen a lūʻau put on in the pool courtyard). The community app is pretty active as well, and I've made friends with some neighbors that way. :)

PROS: Walkable location, clean and modern interiors, great way to meet people in your building CONS: Parking is terrible, you have to pay for parking, your guests have nowhere to park, they can't visit you WITHOUT you walking them up and down the elevator, the gym is TINY, no pool, there is only one elevator and it is SUPER SLOW, the parking garage is so tiny and cramped, trash valet is a huge con (I'd rather take the trash out myself and not pay an extra fee every month, thank you very much), when I first moved in, I emailed about the trash valet (since I'm new to the service) and they didn't get back to me, and I left my recyclables outside for like 10 minutes to make room for delivery and got FINED (and they would not remove the fine), not very empathetic. High cost of living with all the fees, parking, etc.

Overall Sentral is a comfortable and easy place to live. I needed a short term lease so I appreciated the flexibility and the ability to rent furniture. My apartment was also already setup for AT&T so it was very easy to activate a new account. Everyone has been very polite and friendly. The AC is easily adjustable from your room. The apartment is spotless and maintenance has been responsive with any issues. I haven’t see any bugs or mice (thank god). Areas of possible improvement: - while bikes do fit in the elevator, it would be nice to have a bike room on the ground floor - the gym is a little small and sparse, fine if all you want to do is bike but with multiple people it feels cramped and if you’re looking to lift you might be disappointed with the range of weights

I lived in Sentral Austin for about 4 months and I couldn't have been more pleased with my decision. While the apartment and complex were great, what sold me, and what I was most impressed about, was the service I received from staff, especially Karyn. Long story short: I had no place to stay as my Airbnb ended and on that same day, I walked into Sentral to try to secure a short term lease. I really didn't think I was going to have something on that day but Karyn was on it and she really hustled and got me into an apartment. She was super helpful that day and continued to be helpful during my stay. Whenever I had questions or needed help, I knew I could reach out to Karyn. Even with random visits to the office, she was always happy and enthusiastic to see me and help.

Location honestly the only good thing about this place. They charge $100 a month for parking in the garage. The walls are thin as paper you can literally hear everything. management is not great literally eveytime you walk in they dont even acknowledge you. Staircase full dog urine . The gym is super small and the machine inside are not great. Cleaness around and inside the building not great either. If you order food or invite friends over there is no way for them to come in the building so you have to go down and get them eveytime. They will not give you a door code if you ask. They mostly focus on the 1614 Sentral side. Honestly there better apartment with better amenities and gets you more for your buck but if location is all you want this is the place for you.

What a great place to live along with a great experience. I recently moved in, and my place is amazing. The courtyard and club room are an extension of my place and will be great for entertaining guest. The location is perfect and as a Chicago native, this has the south loop feel. My experience was great from start to finish, and as a customer service executive I observe the people and the process closely. I have research and called several places, and my search ended when I called and got to speak with Sasha. Her Customer Service skills were amazing, kept notes of my rambling, response time to emails were incredible. And everyone on the Indie leasing team has been polite, professional and accommodating. Looking forward to a great summer and great year!

I was visiting Austin for ACL weekend and unfortunately my Airbnb was cancelled the day I was supposed to check in. Luckily I was able to book at Sentral that same day. The staff was super friendly and helpful and even let me check in almost an hour early. The location is great, within a 10 minute walk there’s restaurants, coffee shops, bars/breweries and shopping. The downtown area and W 6th are only a 10-15 minute Uber ride or a 30 minute walk. The rooms are also great, they’re essentially apartments instead of hotel rooms. I’d definitely recommend Sentral to anyone visiting Austin.

Love this place! I was in need of a safe place to store my luggage, and after trying a few other hotels and them not being able to do it, Alan saved my day and helped me out. He stored my luggage safely for 5 hours and I was able to go have Terry Blacks on my last day before my flight! He did it with a smile, plus it seems like this is a really nice place to stay :) such a fantastic location for exploring the cool bars and restaurants of the E 6th neighborhood.

You will not find a nicer building on East 6th for the value. I wanted an apartment that was walkable to everything I need, but for an affordable price. I found that at Indie! Not only is the apartment complex affordable and in a prime location, but the apartment itself is extremely well maintained (the maintenance crew is fantastic)! What really sold me on living here is Heather and Rendell, they are always willing to drop what they are doing to help answer questions, help me find a package, recommend a dinner spot, etc. I love living at Indie, I get a real sense of community and recommend this building to anyone.

This stay was fine, but disappointing overall. My studio apartment was directly over a very loud bar that played music until 1am every night of my stay. Earplugs etc did nothing. There is no direct phone number listed anywhere to call and get help- the 24/7 text hotline was sporadic at best, so I was stuck with no sleep. I wish this would've been included in the apartment description or reviews to know what to expect or to have the option to request a different apartment. The bed was a Murphy bed with a less than comfortable mattress. Again, I wish this would have been detailed in the room description.

Love it! Everything about this place is very clean. Staff is very quick to help you solve ay issues that may arise and get things settled as quickly as possible. Maintenance is also very quick to respond to any issues that you may within a day unlike most places that may takes days or weeks. Emme and Pennie who work in front make living here a breeze, really helpful, and kind every time I walk into this place.

I am moving cross country to Austin so I had to do everything virtually and over the phone and he was so helpful, personable, and accommodating. He was very clear about the prices and honest about the amenities, plus his personality alone sold me on wanting to live there. If you are looking at Indie as your new home, ask for RENDELL CRUZ. You won't be disappointed.

Quiet, clean and relaxed. Overall, it’s a good place to live in a 2 bedroom. Location is great. Laundry rooms on every floor. Cons: You have to go down to meet friends, grocery or food deliveries because the elevators don’t work without a fob. You do pay $100 a month for parking and on the first night, some one scraped the back of my car :/ The office said they don’t have cameras. The elevator takes forever and feels like a steam room and the lobby itself gets really hot during the day.

An absolute gem on 6th Street! I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, right in the heart of all the action on 6th Street. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!

Living at Sentral has been a dream. 1. I have a great view of east 6th st, 2. I bike to Lady Bird Lake and downtown in minutes 3. The cutest little bodega (Royal Blue) has all the snacks and coffee a remote working girl could ask for. Bonus points for all the bars and food trucks that are right outside the door. The customer service was excellent at check-in and directions for checking out. The studio was pretty large, bigger than I would have gotten at a hotel, and everything is included with a full kitchen. The neighborhood is convenient for walking to restaurants and bars, but it is loud at night. If you are looking for a quiet spot, this isn't it. Other than that, all good!

The listing felt a tad misleading, as it showed a walk in shower and we had a normal bathroom. The bed was not too comfortable, but the pillows were. It was confusing how there was another Sentral down the street, so we went to the wrong place first. Everything was fully automated which was great for security but difficult to navigate initially. Especially the elevator.

This was a new kind of hotel experience for me. I really enjoyed it. WARNING: Getting inside initially does feel a bit like an escape room, so may not be suitable for elderly that are not prepared for door codes. I, however, loved it. The shared spaces were open and smartly designed. I wish I had been able to spend more time in them, but alas work made me work.

I am an incoming tenant and wanted to take the time to rave about both Christopher Martinez and Rendelle Cruz in the leasing office. They have not only been so helpful and outgoing in this process, but also have moved in an efficient manner making this process so easy. I could not ask for better customer service in providing information and transparency.

We stayed for three nights. Clean room with everything that you would need. Smart interior. Friendly and helpful staff, both at the place and online. Convenient location for getting around in Austin. Good fitness room with spinning bikes. Nice lobby area. Easy check in and check out.

OH MY GOODNESS. Those are my only words to describe the absolutely wonderful experience I had at East Austin blah blah blah. The staff was incredible and the concierge named EMME and her boss ALEX were phenomenal. Could not recommend this place with higher praise. Pay this place a dang ol’ visit!

I’ve been living here for over eight months and everything has been great. In my opinion this is a great place to stay. Maintenance will take care of your request right away. They are very knowledgeable and friendly.

Love the apt! Moved in early January and I truly enjoy living here. Options for furnished apt made the whole experience easier, not to mention the great location. Small gym has everything you need to stay fit, great bathrooms, very kind and helpful management. Can’t beat it for the price!

I enjoy the community events that they've hosted so far. With COVID, it's hard to gather. But, they still do grab n' gos which are safe and fun. Allows us to engage with the Leasing team. Randell is always pleasant and he goes above and beyond to help me when needed.

I ended up not leasing an apt here but I was very impressed with Karyn! She is a breathe of fresh air- so personable and provides really helpful information when giving the tour. The amenities and property seem great- I just ended up going with something else.
