FOR THE DETAILING SERVICE - THEY MADE THE CAR LOOK BETTER THAN THE FIRST TIME I BOUGHT IT!!!!! I'm only giving this four stars and not five because of my first initial experience: First experience we called shell and someone informed us detailing was open on Sundays when they were not. Of course we don't figure that out until after we show up and when we asked the guy working car wash, he told me detailing was closed and I needed to come back in the morning. He said I'd be done in 30 minutes but basically unless they were to charge me extra there was no help for my car because it was "REALLY bad" on the inside. Guy inspected my car and didn't even shut my car door all the way after which flew open as I was pulling out of the shell. Despite the bad first experience when I came back on Monday it really made up for it!!! The different man I spoke with about my appointment was kind and clear about what the real deal was. He was honest and told me it would take 4 HRS to clean and a little extra money for all the dog hair but he said they would do what they could for what I paid for. And boy did I get what I paid for. The car was beautiful on the inside, stains that were there when I bought car from dealership were completely gone. My rims were shiny and I didn't even think that could be possible. Great job to the guys who did the detailing, I could not have been happier with the end result.

I went to the Mission Valley Shell to get my gf's car washed and figured they would have a decent hand wash, not to mention they are close to my house. Well upon pulling up, the first thing I noticed is they have a couple of shop vacs to do the interior vacuuming. After choosing the hand wash from the price the list from the man who didnt speak english, I went inside and paid. After waiting for 45 mins my gf's car was finally finished. I walked over and did a walk around and it looked like they just sprayed with it a hose for 30 mins in the back. There was 3/4 of a giant poop on the rear bumper as well as various other blemishes and marks. I pointed it out and the guy started to clean it off as if I was asking for a lot. I opened the back of the car, where I often keep my dogs for trips to the beach and noticed all the fur was still there! So informed the guy and he indicated for me to bring it back up to the vacuums. (Back up to the previous mentioned shopvacs that are probably full with their original filters from 5 years ago). The worker proceeded to vacuum the back seat with no luck of any suction. At that point was out of time and annoyed and told him I had enough. Save yourself the trouble and take your car to a place that will actually wash it better than a bunch of 5th graders at a free car wash.

My car came out dirtier if you can believe it. Paid $20, they used the same dirty wet rag that they attempted to dry the outside with to "clean" the windows inside and out. So my windows which were fairly clean now have dirty dry water streaks on all of them so I had to go home and use windex myself and clean them for real. they were all cloudy due to the dirt they applied to it. A small bird poop that was on my hood was still completely there, it wasn't dried properly so water spots all over. and they took out my cargo net in my trunk, and didn't re connect it, which is no big deal but annoying because of the rest. I have gone here 1-2 times before in the last 4 years, and it was never really good, but never really this bad. Go somewhere else and save your money, or do it yourself if you have time to do so, this will inevitably make it worse.

Horrible! Just like "aks" says, Don't go here if you value your car at all! I wish I would have read the reviews before going. Their machine washer brushes caught the corner of my fender next to the wheel well and ripped a 6" section of my fender! When I talked to the manager he tried to tell me that there was previous damage and the brush caught the part that was sticking out. So they admit that they made the big fat rip - but they say it's my fault "I shouldn't have them wash a damaged car, and it's not their fault if I have damage that catches their brushes." They wouldn't even refund me for the $15 wash. And after all that I got in to drive off and realized that they wiped my dash with a dirty rag and now there are black streaks all over my dash!!! Don't go here... and tell your friends not to go here either, I know I will.

Came in this morning for a car wash to only be turned away without even asking what services I needed, and told me it was too many people and that they were super busy. I said no problem I understand.... I backed up and turned around. Right when I was pulling off I stopped because I noticed two more customers pulled up and he did not turn them away he gave them tickets And they got out the car and proceeded to sit down, I went in and asked to a manager , And the manager told me that he was on a important phone call and it would be a while.... back Very unprofessional! I truly believe I was turned away because I’m an African-American woman I’m very disappointed in what I saw today. And the sad part is somebody referred me to go there and I left upset. If you need a car wash don’t go here!

Substandard service at car wash. When car finished I noticed several areas not cleaned by vacuum. Told to pull car up to outside vacuum lane then asked to turn car around to vacuum other side. Employee didn't understand english so I motioned how to thread vacuum from one side of car to the other in the inside. Still no cooperation. Demonstrated and vacuumed my own car. Missed areas were noticed after that. Spoke to owner and did nothing. Paid for new car smell gold wash 25.99 and no smell added. Do not waste ur time. Abt the discount on gas with car wash drive 1 mile to arco or valero and get it cheaper no strings. NEVER AGAIN. TOP DOLLAR LOW QUALITY

Had the $27.99 full hand car wash today - and perhaps they actually did that but what they didn’t do was dry the car before the sun did as it sat out in it. They don’t have shade canopys that would prevent that. So when I whent to pick up the car it was covered with streaks and water spots. That alone says they don’t use DI water. The manager came out and had the guys wipe the car down with a wet chamois - he agreed it was a bad job - his only advice was to wax my car and then it would bead off better and wouldn’t show so much spotting and streaking! You would think you would get more value for $28 and 40 min. But Not. Use at your own risk.

Updating my review to note that this station did in fact return all the money that was taken from my credit card at the pump so I really appreciate that. The mechanics at this gas station very kindly let me use their vacuums for free one day. That same day someone apparently got a hold of my credit card information and used it twice at the pump. One of the managers who answered the phone, I don't know her real name, was not helpful with the situation. Probably not the owner's fault but use care when paying with a card until they get the situation under control. - Adelheid "Heidi" S.

5 stars for the car wash! They always do a great job and offer a nice menu of services to customize the services you're looking for. I get the gold wash + external armor all for all the outside trim. I love that it's a hand wash vs running thru a machine with the crazy flappers hitting your car all over. Convenient location between the 15 and 163. They have plenty of seating to chill while you wait for your car. The service station has a mini mart for snacks and beverages as well as the fragrance accessories for your car.

We need 'negative' star ratings. SOOOOOO slow, I've been to other gas / car wash places before & never has it taken this long. Plus, they advertise out on the signs, '$3.19 for gas with wash'. But nowhere does it state that you must walk in and physically conduct a transaction in order to obtain the discount. Of course the attendant has a half ass explanation as to why there are no signs and nothing can be done about it after the fact. Definitely a waste of time!

Don't bring your car dirty to this car wash. Today I drive up to the car wash guy, and I ask for the regular wash ($15.99+tax+tip), and the guy tells me he will basically not wash my car good for that price. "They'll just throw water at it and rinse it, It's too dirty" he tells me. Its dirty, that's why I'm here. Asked for $27.99 as the option....I said no thanks and left. No shame these days. Walked 10 minutes to get here..online it says “open at 6am Monday- Friday” the store hours listed on the front door says the same thing.. however it is not open today. I’ve noticed this about half the time. I legit love the people that work here and I prefer it over the Mobil across the street but it irks me when I have to walk 10 minutes just to find out that my favorite gas station is closed..please adjust your hours accordingly. PLEASE..

Great customer service! I stopped by on my lunch hour to see if they sell wiper blades because it was raining and one of mine was falling apart. The nice guy (I'm sorry I didn't get your name) in the service center stopped what he was doing to help me. He found the correct replacements and even offer to put them on while I went inside to pay. I was in and out in 5 minutes! Thank you so much for the kindness and great service!

I get gas here often enough. The inside is clean and as nice as a gas station can be I suppose. I'm going to heed the warnings about the car wash though. Although, if I were to take my car through an automated car wash, I'd expect to get what I pay for... I lived in Imperial Beach prior to Mission Valley, and found a great car wash (Shell?) on the south-east corner of the 15 and Imperial Beach Blvd. Just a suggestion.

The night guy quotes you a price, and the day guy won't stand by that price. Shop is a joke! I don't usually write negative reviews but I figured I needed to get this out. They will steal from your pocket... How does one employee call himself a manager and quote you a price and then the next employee is rude abrasive and just a jerk and calls himself the manager??? I'm not sure I would buy gas from this shop either!!

I went on my lunch break they have done a better job on my other vehicles which have taken about 30-45 minutes to wash which is fine as long as they do a good job. This time it took about 20 and the windows were horrible there was bird crap still and the car looks barely dusted. I think because I didn't do the extra tire shine this time they did a poor job on purpose. Won't be going back there.

They try to attract you to get gas there by advertising two fuel prices on their large sign and on Gas Buddy. Then when you go there thinking that you're getting a cheap price when you pay cash, if you ask them why you aren't getting the cheaper price at the pump, their answer is that the lower fuel price only applies IF YOU BUY A CAR WASH.

Got a basic car wash with interior vacuum but it didn't look like they even turned on the vacuum. The passenger seat still had visible dog hair sitting on it. It also took them 30 minutes for them to finish my car which is the longest I have ever waited, even at peak times. I will never go here again. Bad service that took forever.

Just attempted to get a car wash. I asked for the Bronze car wash and the guy said since my card had yellow dots I would need the hand was (double the price). I said well I just want the bronze and then he kept insisting that I needed the hand wash because it's the only way to get rid of the pollen spots. False. So rude!

Brought a drink and motrin for my daughters headache, the squirt was flat and when we took it back in we were told sorry i was supposed to remove those from the shelf today. So we look at the medicine expiration date and it expired this month as well. Check all dates before purchasing anything here, that’s insane!

Attendant working the cash register was awesome. He had a great attitude, super nice and personable. Gas prices at shell are way more expensive than pretty much any other gas station in the entire country so I don’t recommend you fill up here but if you’re getting a car wash it’s coo.

According to manager, Bronze car wash, $15.99, does not clean the car, it is just a rinse. After the rinse, the front bumper, grill, and head lights still had dead bugs and dirt on them. When I showed it to them, they told me that I needed to get the $27.99 wash to clean that.

I waited for over an hour before I checked on the car again. They said they couldn't wash it since I had my key fob in my pocket. They said they tried getting me but I was sitting out from for AN HOUR!!! IN front of the place. So I got my money back and found another place.

I've been in the Mission Valley area for 10 years and have been a customer mission valley shell for almost the same amount of time. I get my oil changed here since it comes with a free car wash. The mechanics are friendly. Overall, I always had a great experience.

Carwash was okay. Usually they remove my aftermarket antenna and today they bent it, causing damage... I guess that was partially my fault for not reminding them. Also the mechanic was rude today and called me by the wrong name. I might have to find somewhere new.

The reviews are real. I thought it might be fine as they were a few years ago. The reality is that they charge you for a cleanup that then they don’t do. The people that clean are really nice. But I think it’s better if you spend your money elsewhere.

Never buy gas here. Huge rip off. I was almost out and had to go here. Even with the car wash "discount" it is still 70 cents higher than anywhere else. With prices so much more than average, it seems like it might be a front for something else.

The worse car wash!! I use to have my car wash here most of the time but lately I notice that the window cleaner is DILUTED, it leaves marks of not properly clean, specially on the windshield. I go to someone else now.

Excellent experience getting my oil changed, quick, easy and they made sure to top off my cars fluids and check the tire pressure. Huge shoutout to Brennan and Amondo for taking care of my Jeep! - Highly recommend!

Pulled up at 939 to make a purchase. The employee said he starts closing at 940 to prevent saying open late which he claimed he got written up for. If that's the case why not put hours at 930... never going back.

Horrid service on 4-22-18 8pm from the attendant. Almost got physical. Don't go here if you value your time and money. Look at all the recent one star reviews.. something is really wrong with this place.

Unfortunately I have to say this is not a place you want to take your car. The quality wash you get is not worth the price they charge. Your better off going through a 3$ machine wash.

Nice car wash and small convenience store but only get gas here if absolutely necessary. Prices are always $.50-$1.00 higher per gallon than stations just 3-5 miles down the road.

Been to Mission Valley Shell on many Occasions always great service , great product & honest People. Can Not recommend them enough. They have tons of experience. Give them a try.

The advertised oil change is not the price they claim. Expect to pay more. Much more. They tack on some nonsense fees, better to just learn how to do the change yourself

These people here are full of s*^#! They are lazy and careless with your car. My car was not cleaned properly and the oil change price was way more than they advertise.

Mission Valley Shell is good. The car wash is excellent, and the mechanics know what they are doing. Price is fair, and employees are nice. Will go back for sure.

I got the deluxe wash and paid $10 extra for carpet shampoo, total was $45 and they basically detailed the interior. Great job and I will definitely go back.

Washed my car there, came back dirty and with a dent and scratch. Talked to owner, he denied his employees would do such a thing.

The service here was awesome. Oil change and a hand done car wash for $40. Gas is a bit expensive here though.

I always change the oil in my cars at this Shell gas station. They are perfect, I've never had any problems.

It's a normal gas station. Clean and decent. I would feel safe getting gas, a drink, a snack, etc.

Car wash closes at 3pm but the pump prompts you to buy a car wash 24/7–and they dont do refunds.

Have never had an issue here. They have great customer service and the gas is reasonably priced
