On May 17,2023, my wife went to the Shell Station at 903 Henderson Hwy in Winnipeg to purchase fuel for her car and to purchase $200 (4 x $50) in gift cards as part of a graduation gift for our daughter. We presented our daughter with the $200 in gift cards after her graduation at the end of June. She went to the SAME Shell Station to get gas for her car and none of the cards worked. I figured it was an activation issue so I scratched off the sticker on the back, got the card numbers, and checked them. NONE of the cards had been activated. Naturally, I took the cards and our bank statement to show the transaction to the same station and was promptly informed that the station was purchased by a new owner who took possession on May 23 - 6 days after we purchased the cards and were told that there was nothing they could do about it as it was the previous owner's responsibility. I was quite unimpressed but agreed to allow the district manager to call me to sort it out. NO CALL HAS EVER BEEN RECEIVED. I went back to speak to the new owner - and same blocking effort. The district manager will have to call you. And again. NO CALL HAS EVER BEEN RECEIVED. So I contacted Shell customer service. They deflected me to card activation services. They deflected me back to customer service. Loop goes on and on. Finally, I got angry enough that someone listened and said they would get someone from Card Activation Services to contact me. (Shell Customer Service Request 5406432). It took a follow up to get that to actually happen. I spoke with a representative from Card Activation Services on July 11, and they sent me an email with what they needed. I sent them what I had: A picture of the back (with sticker rubbed off) and front of the four gift cards, the transaction from my bank showing the purchase of $200 to SHELL C00008 on May 17, 2023, along with an additional separate purchase of fuel for $53.03. Card activation services declined to activate the cards - I still have four USELESS SHELL $50 gift cards that will show as NEVER BEEN ACTIVATED (card number cannot be found), and no one at Shell wants to take ownership of this. This is clearly a gift card SCAM. I wouldn't EVER bother buying Shell Gift Cards after this experience. And I certainly won't ever deal with Shell again. UPDATE: Before going to air with this story today, I received a call from Shell's Manager of Customer Operations who offered to make things right. I'm very glad that someone at Shell had the common sense to fix the problem and stand behind their brand, but my review still reflects the incredibly poor customer service received at this Shell location.

Shell station must have been pretty bad to make me come home and write a review. Filled up truck and got an ultimate soft cloth carwash. Once in the car wash i realized it was touchless which i didn't want. Pretty simple - explained the situation and asked for a refund or a "soft cloth" carwash. The attendant said "IMPOSSIBLE" and then began to yell with a line of customers behind me. I stood my ground as I am a customer and was treated as I was an annoyance. I have been a loyal Shell customer for 25 years. You would think Shell Canada would read the reviews of this particular location and maybe look at the tape from roughly 4pm today. Disgusting when businesses are doing whatever they can to get customers through the doors and this particular one is pushing them out. Minus 5 stars. I spend $1000 a month on fuel and live a block away. Never go back.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I bought my husband a car wash, which it is supposed to be 180 days to use. Less then 30 days later he went to go use it and couldn’t when he went inside the guy working there said it was used today at 1:45 pm. My husband told him it wasn’t one of us they either sold someone the same code or someone entered the wrong code by mistake and it worked because it was my husband’s code. The guy phoned the manager and they said they had to look at the tapes and it would take a couple of days. It was only a 9.99 car wash but to review the tapes they are calling my husband a liar in other words. After they review the tapes and see it wasn’t us. I’ll never use shell again!

Came to get gas, so I figured I would go pay inside and grab a drink. As I approached the door, the dudes just yelled at me "no go to side" Side of what? I kept walking and one of them stood in front of the door and told me to go to side window. So I did and guy just yelled instructions to me on how to pay for gas through the window. As this was going on the other dude kept going in and out, he was detailing a car in the front. Anyways, got my gas and left. God awful service, weird behaviors and even weirder that they wouldn't let anyone inside. This was at 9pm.

This has been our go to place for fuel and carwash ... But just last week we noticed that there were no soap for the ultimate touchless carwash so we notified the attendant Ginni, she brush us off right away and told us that it was impossible cause she just refilled the soap the night before. She then told us that she needs the receipt so we showed it to her but then look at our car and said "it looks good from here so I cant give you another carwash" she wouldn't let us even finish talking, all those rude comments will never be forgotten.

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. EVERYTIME i go to this location the sign in front of the car wash says broken. Its not broken whoever took ownership of this is just plain LAZY. Especially with the season of melting snow they should be ensuring the car wash is up and running always, i totally understand that sometimes things break.. but this is almost an every second day occurrence. They re did the car wash just to have it not be open SUPER CONVENIENT.

I stopped at this gas station in the morning. The credit card reader wasn't working and I had to walk inside to pay for the gas. The worker with the name Raj was extremely impolite and quite rude when he was talking to me. I had to point out to him that he was speaking unprofessionally, so that he would change his attitude. I rarely leave bad reviews, but I wanted to inform potential customers to stay away from this place if they expect a good customer service.

Limited options available and of the things that they do carry, they are often out of stock or are older and right about to expire. Their prices aren't specifically all that good either, especially when it comes to the carwash. The guy who usually works nights when I go is also terrible to deal with. I don't understand how he's the person that a company has dealing with people. I try not to go there unless I need to.

This shell recently got sold to people who are so rude and the car wash is always broken for days at a time. When you say “it’s always broken” the clerk snapped and got really offended. Obviously by all the one star reviews obviously they’re not doing a good job running it. I live close so it’s convenient but i always try to go to any other one

Worst customer service! the guy work there keep busy talking over the phone , when I ask him how to inflate the tire , he just tell me to put the money in , then after I put the money in he told me he don’t know how to inflate the tire ! If you don’t know how why not tell me at the beginning?! Just waste my time and money !!

Heading out of the city to go fishing we drive past this location and it clearly states it's supposed to be ooen at 6am it was 6:10 when we drove past and everything was still locked up, of you advertise you're open at a certain time it might be helpful to make sure you're actually open at that time.

Used to come here often for snacks, milk and slurpees. They never have milk now and snacks and sodas and smokes are often low on stock or none at all. Not to mention a guy working there is quite rude and seems to think being on his phone is more important than working. I've been going to Domo now

Charged me $4.40 but i only used it for less than 2 minutes. Cashier claimed that timer starts once you get ticket from outside. I don't believe this is true. Upon asking for my refund cashier was rude and said you have been there for more than five minutes even when i did not use the service.

Prepay only which prevents you from using a coupon on a full fill. The ultimate car wash cost $13.99 with a fill, would have expected a better job for the high price. My truck was left soap residue. I prefer the shell further down Henderson with the wand wash or the Co-op on Gateway.

This place Has gone severely down hill the last few months. Almost never any fluid in the windshield squeegee buckets, no paper towels the staff hasn't been friendly in a while and act like you're interrupting them when you go in to ask for a receipt because the pump is out of paper

Eight pumps, 2 of them for diesel. Pay-at-the-pump with credit or debit. You can collect Air Miles here. "Touchless" car wash. Convenience store with the usual items (snacks, ice, etc). Conveniently located and usually easy to get in and out quickly.

Just a run of the mill gas station. I found the car wash (top tier $15) to be poor to only moderately decent. More than once I needed to complain in order to go through the car wash a second time. I now find it too frustrating to was my car there.

The door to the store is locked 1/2 the time I’m there. If you’re lucky enough to be let in, the worker is talking on the phone (FaceTime) the entire time you’re in the store. I’ve wanted to buy snacks / pay inside and have been unable to.

Invest in a cone to block the path to the wash if it's closed. Staff should check the receipt paper throughout the day. Paying at the pump and then having to go inside for a receipt is kind of pointless too.

I like the convenience of the touch less car wash although it's down for maintenance once out of every five times I go. I've had bad customer service a couple times.

The staff are very friendly and you can usually find what you want. Prices are reasonable. It's usually not very busy, it has a public bathroom which is great

...NASTY... Stinky place. Windshield cleaners has no soap and stinks. Car wash will leave your car worse than before and ALWAYS issues with the pumps.

Sign was up “be back in 10 mins” Couldn’t press any buttons as it was sticky. Upkeep should be a bit better. Petro up the street was the winner

this place charges an extra 6 cents for premium then any other shell. The one down henderson by bonner is only $1.25 while they charge $1.31
