I'm a second semester student and i am currently having a HORRIBLE time here. Lets get started on everything thats wrong about this college shall we? First of, the staff here. The professors here hardly pass anyone here with a good mark even if you give a 100% effort, the highest you are going to end up with is a measly 75%. I barely scraped by with a 50 last semester along with the whole class who barley passed with the other half dropping out because of them. The professors here are also very egotistical and dramatic, just recently i had one professor who was acting like a total drama queen threatening to walk out of the class because nobody knew the answer to her question. I mean seriously? i thought we were there to learn, NOT expect to know everything without you teaching us. Also, one professor in my program is notable for being a hard marker and giving low marks, apparently to him, more "effort" needs to be put into our work if you want to pass his class. They are very unhelpful here, they expect you to know everything, i've had more help in understanding the workload by my fellow peers then the teachers here, and most of them are very lazy and do NOT use slate, seriously what are we paying these people for? Now the workload. I expect nothing to be easy, but come on, the amount of work here is a joke and the time given to complete them is not an easy task due to other assignments flowing in from other courses. They try to purposely make the workload here hard like university style or otherwise people would be complaining about the easyness. Last but not least, THE PRICES! The food court here is horrible, the subway is sloppy and tastes funny and the amount for a pizza is overpriced, seriously this school is notable for being a money grab whether its for food, textbooks or even student loans, paying for car parking is also way to expensive. Overall DON'T come here if you want to learn or expect to learn something here. The people here are totally reserved and the teachers here are lazy teachers. Humber or Seneca sounds so much better then Sheridan.

As an alumni of Sheridan College I spent a long time here between the years of 2010-2015. The beginning was a great experience but everything changed after I asked Mr. Michael Jones for help from the Human Rights and Responsibilities Department at Sheridan College, Brampton campus. I was being bullied in my program and Mr. Michael Jones made it even worse by telling me that maybe I should just leave Sheridan if I could not handle being bullied. This confused me for a very long time, but after taking many law courses I found out that Mr. Michael Jones was actually guilty of something. In addition, Mr. Michael Jones was unprofessional in terms of trying to help me and he actually called me on the phone to yell at me for no reason when he was drunk. Mr. Michael Jones told me in his yelling voice that he would put me in jail if he was not working for Sheridan College back in 2016 but I'm doing well and I'm enjoying my life so I just wanted to say I do not appreciate a staff member of a college drunk calling me to tell me that they don't like me as a person and that if they could they would have me put in jail. I'm not sure what I did Michael Jones but I am still waiting for an apology from you so that I can come back to Sheridan one day and help teach students as a Student Volunteer. I'm aware I am one person but Health and Safety is important so hopefully everyone at Sheridan is staying safe because they still need to help certain staff in the Health Department as well as the Human Rights and Responsibilities Department. Thank you for your time everyone and I hope to receive a personal apology letter from you one day Mr. Michael Jones because as a scholar I do not appreciate unprofessionalism in the workplace as I also worked for Sheridan as well. I am pretty sure I know my Human Rights as I read all about them at Sheridan College through Library Services but still I hope one day and I pray one day that Mr. Michael Jones finds God and stops drinking.

My response was too long and even when I shortened it to meet the required length it still is giving me an error, not allowing me to post. Anyhow, Beautiful Campus, Top End School (Specifically Tech/Art), Viable option for future success and employment! If you are one of those parents with a child who knows what they want to do when they are older by grade 8, this school could be it for you! If your child is artistic and wants to be a Graphics Designer than have them take Applied (Easier) Math’s & English Courses compared to Academic (University Prerequisites). You can find their niche, find the company that they would be best suited in, go get your 2 year Graphics Designer Diploma from this beautiful, terrific and top end school! Apply for jobs at your dream company and have your child start working their Career by the age of 19, by 30 they will have so many options, possibly moved quite far up the corporate ladder, won’t have massive student loans more associated to attending University! Sheridan College is undoubtedly a terrific path to success for students at a young age, especially when it comes to Tech/Art and or Trade’s like Carpentry! If I had to do it all over again, there is a very big chance I would of just attended college and went from their. Many of my friends who chose that route are doing very well, own their own homes and were able to actually make it on their own, which these days is feeling like the impossible and the inevitable for the graduating students and all youth. How can a student who comes from a broken home and or a home situation without financial assistance get out of that! How can they afford to even pay rent in Oakville, when will they ever be able to afford a home? That’s why, I am claiming to this to be fact, in most cases College is the better option than University for the majority of students!

The courses are poorly designed as the two-hour lecture is not sufficient in any calculation or logical courses. This flipping model turns these amazing courses into a disaster. I got a 78% in the fundamental Corp and understood the materials so well. It is because the teacher was there to explain the materials and 3 hours lecture makes the class more helpful and more applicable to solve problems. However, when i went to Advanced Corp, the new teaching approach (Flip approach, thats what they call) really throws me off. Yes this approach works well with case course but for any math related courses, it is not working well and the school is aware of it. this filliping teaching sucks as it does not encourage students to come to class. Especially with calculation or math related course. Students can read the materials but asking them to comprehend the materials and understand fully before attending class is unrealistic. If the school is still insisting with the stupid flipping approach, it will not make Sheridan a better academic environment. Sheridan is popular for small classes with full attention toward students. However, the BBA programs are making the school less attractive. I have no intention to suggest Sheridan to other people because of this. There is another way to make the flip approach more efficient is to keep the 3 hour lectures in a few programs (accounting and finance to be more specific). We students need to learn and understand the materials, and that's why we need guidance, we need teachers and TA. We don't need someone comes to class and says "TADA here is the project, do it yourself". I am writing this comment strictly for the educational system of the school. I have nothing against the services or the staff because they are great.

I am in the illustration program and I have never liked it one bit. There is a handful of professors that are actually nice, professional and helpful, but I found the majority to be quite the opposite. The profs don’t do demos usually and only give assignments during class (that’s what you will spend 3 hours doing: nothing), so you only really learn how to manage time rather than how to master art skills and technique. There have been times that I have left class because the content was unhelpful and a waste of time (which is a waste of money). During hands-on classes like painting, profs will stand behind you and verbally tell you what they want, but they won’t try to show you. Most professors are bias with art styles they are looking for and will mark unfairly. I’m graduating without an established portfolio because the assignments are so jam packed; they take quantity over quality. They save important information for the last year, even though it is stuff you should know earlier to prepare for post graduation (example is business related knowledge that should be carried out throughout the years). Overall, a horrible experience and it was a waste of money. I would have learned more at an actual fine arts school. The only reason the program is “respected” is because it is one of the few illustration programs available in Canada. The school really only cares about money- it is a business after all and education comes second to that. My $10,000 a year has not gone towards anything except lazy, unhelpful teaching. They make you pay for extra materials and resources and I see none of my tuition going towards anything that I am physically using to help me learn.

I'm honestly writing this review because of a friend of mine I met in the nursing program at the Davis location. I strongly feel this program has many inconsistencies. From lowering students marks by adding two extra marks on a midterm that you cannot get, OSCE exams (i.e. prompting some students but not all and affecting the results), profs not listening to student advocating that they did a skill or step in an exam and the profs denying it... Most of all... the clinical instructor my friend had. Without warning or proper documentation this instructor stated that she was failing her when in fact she handed in all the assignments which was satisfactory, kept telling her she's passing, changing her midterm mark from passing to failing... Very unprofessional. This instructor has also made racist remarks towards international students, bully students and favors them. This personally has not affected me, but I feel that this behaviour from a clinical instructor ESPECIALLY in a nursing program is just truly unacceptable. If I knew how this program was being regulated I would have applied somewhere else. I truly feel strongly about this. My friend did not deserve to fail and not be notified ahead of time for room for improvement. Profs and instructors need to be encouraging and approachable. Sheridan, please do a better job regulating who works at your facility. That clinical instructor clearly has no passion or care for teaching nursing students and should be terminated for disgusting behaviour.

There is a lot to unpack when it comes to this institution. I applied as an international student and first major red flag I got was the general confusion among the faculty. I could ask the same question to different faculty members I would get a different response every single time, nothing was clear and I felt like most of the people have no idea what they are talking about. When I tried to apply for one program, on the main site you could see that the program was still open, but then when you actually tried to apply it did not let you, because there were clearly no spots left (which was then confirmed when I called the office of the registrar, which by the way was unnecessarily mean and seemed like they did not want to talk). I was in Art Fundamentals program, which as it’s name states, is supposed to teach you art from the beginning - I am going to tell you right now, it is NOT going to happen. Many teachers have unrealistic expectations and are not willing to explain projects and work techniques, will give you unexpectedly low grades and not answer your questions regarding as to why it happened. As to the tuition fee, it is not worth even the domestic fee, not even talking about the ridiculous international fee. It doesn’t matter if you are Canadian or not, please spend your money wisely and do not choose Sheridan College.

  • Tracey Sketches

Reading though the reviews I'm disgusted to read that people wish international students would just remain uneducated and to "get out of the school" You are the problem. On the other hand I've been in two full time courses so far for the arts and it's one of the better colleges I've been to. When you walk in you can feel creativity oozing out of the students and faculty. As any type of college, your experience is defined by what you do with your own time. If you don't want to fully invest to your interests, of course you're going to end up not enjoying yourself, and you'll hate your professors and classmates. Sure Sheridan gobbles up your money, but you're getting experience. Speaking of which- the majority of the profs have experience in the field and they are getting PAID to help you grow as an artist. Some of them are biased to their own niche, but it's because artists are weird, aren't we? I thoroughly enjoy being a sheridan student, even though it's stressful, as long as you reach out for help and take advantage of the services and staff, you'll be successful if you try.

  • mosishmon

I usually don't write reviews, but maybe I could help someone think again about applying to Sheridan college especially the Illustration program. The first year is a total waste of time and money. If you stay at home and just draw you will improve so much more than going to the classes. In first year we were focusing on one, and two point perspective for about 2 months. I would rather take that money and go attend some unknown art classes in downtown or go to life drawing sessions. Also there are tons and tons of tutorials on the internet, and millions of books out there. I never had any major art classes before Sheridan and all I learned was from Youtube and I got accepted the first time. You basically pay 40k for a piece of paper (degree). I dropped out from the Illustration program in the beginning of the second semester and they still want their full payment for the whole semester even though I payed for the first half of the second semester Which I never went to the classes. They are so greedy. Please don't waste your time in this school if you are serious.

Sheridan is a good school, but could definitely use some improvements. Overall the students and faculty were great and put in decent effort to help me excel. Like with everyone, nobody is perfect. Striving for that will make this place amazing. For starters, the social life is lacking. I joined one club and went to the gym which was great, but pushing for the student body to have an impact and more say (publicly) would help to expand this. There was no casual sports (only formal) or numerous events outside of the pub so my social life was mostly built outside of the campus. The programs I took weren't objectively rewarding. There were students dropping out of courses to get a headway in others which put me at a disadvantage staying in them, rather than an advantage (as stated). I will praise the administration because it wasn't very bureaucratic like most schools in terms of I rarely visited them. And the school itself was nice and did its job. But overall I sit on the fence with Sheridan.

Worst school to be in. since the enrollment stage they messed up my transfer credit. was told I will get credit for my previous education, just to find out that their registration office made a huge mistake which they didn't even honour. my advisor and the registration office both confirmed to me that I will get credit for my education. and I had prove of their emails. I had to file a whole complaint with the ministry of education and got these clowns to be in trouble. not long after my advisor was no where to be seen in the college. waste my time and money, I did quit my job because of this and thought I will only need 2 years to get my Bachelor degree. People there can't even do their jobs. ignorant and when you talk to them they know nothing. my advice is to stay away from this school and their facilities. if you email the financial aid office expect to get a reply after 1 week or maybe even more.

This school is a joke! The ECE program especially! The staff don’t even follow what they teach. Don’t even bother listening to the “rules” and things to watch out for when you go on placement, there are a ton of centres out there who don’t follow the guidelines at all, but when you report like you were told to do, you get in trouble because the teachers and centre supervisors are friends! Oh and steer clear of the current free PSW program… you really get what you pay for! In typical Sheridan fashion, teachers are not organized, nothing prepped or ready, but hey, be ready to take tests on things that were not taught! This school is beyond hypocritical! All students must be prepared, no excuses, blah blah blah… but hey, their teachers can be as lazy and disorganized as they want! Do not waste your money!!!

Currently in my last year at this college and the only good thing to come from it is my diploma. I have attended George Brown and Fanshawe and this college has been by far the worst educational experience of my life. The faculty and staff are corrupt. They do not respond to situations in a timely manner. They do not follow the laws and guidelines of their own policies and procedures. They are extremely unsupportive and truly make the students feel like nothing to society. If you are going to invest your time and money into post secondary education I highly suggest crossing this Institution off your application list. I spent too much time and money into a school that clearly only cares about getting paid and not helping or assisting the next generation in being successful professionals in their career.

  • Michael Chen

It's as if as though, the professors work together to purposely make school stressful. In the Engineering Programs at Davis Campus, we're required to take courses that have nothing to do with the program that we're doing. FOr example, Cultures in the Canadian Workplace and Electricity. We'd also have lab reports and unit tests for all our classes in the same week which is incredibly stressful in many ways. Exams are an exception, but not unit tests. They should spread out the times of tests and make due dates for assignments further apart. I feel like the professors purposely do this to make us feel stressed and don't want their students to succeed. I would highly suggest you save your money and go elsewhere. Georgian or Fanshawe are better options than Sheridan.

  • Gianni Marchetta

Just an incredibly disappointing and awful time here. Trust me especially if you are an international student don’t apply here!!! Gigantic lack of communication between staff members, teachers and students. I came here in September and no one ever updated my student center profile, hence I never got my timetable with the classes of my choice. Everything was locked up until the first day of classes which means that no one was available to help you with any problem that you might’ve had in person. In the end they told me to choose the classes that were still available even if they knew that they made an enormous mistake completely forgetting about a student timetable, fortunately I had the possibility to withdraw and put a stop to this terrible experience!

  • Julia Figueiredo

I am enjoying my program but if you forget or loss anything at the college, good luck getting it back. I forgot something last week after class and called the college right away to see if they could collect the item and hold on to it for me at security. The lost and found person said she would ask the cleaners to retrieve the item and bring it back to security for me to collect this week. I have gone to security twice this week and they have not received my item. So either there are people at this college how love to steel items that do not belong to them, or there is a break in the chain between the lost and found person, the cleaners and security. And funny thing is this item that is now missing is useless to anyone else beside myself.

  • just smile

The Sheridan administration staff have been next to useless when it comes to producing the basic information needed to re-apply for classes. I understand why, seeing as the staff severely lack communication between each other; it appears they do not inform one another of information pertaining to a student who's seeking help and guidance. The amount of misdirection you'll encounter when calling Sheridan's office is remarkable. You'll likely get 7 different answers for one question! You'll receive no details or estimates about individual course cost- why that information is kept a secret is beyond me. I hope these issues are resolved very soon, for the sake of all present and future students working to complete their schooling.

  • Angelina Pril

I don’t go to this school but ive seen people getting rejected left and right for submitting portfolios that were already amazing. This school focuses too much on perfectionism and wouldn’t want you if you’re not already a professional artist. School should be about learning and improving your skills. You don’t apply to school to show off your already perfect art. Being in school would be pointless if that’s the case. And to be frank, it would be a waste of time. You don’t learn anything. The sad thing is, i see people begin to doubt themselves when they are rejected even though their art is already great. It puts others down when this school puts the thought of “requiring to be a professional before getting into art school”.

  • Dayna Praturlon

Administrative staff is garbage. Completely useless and not helpful at all. Refuse to do things for you saying it's "policy" not to when on the Sheridan website AND IN EMAILS RECIEVED BY OTHER STAFF MEMEBERS, it clearly states it can be done. Made me go out of my way to come back to campus to fix the situation. Pay for parking, which another thing, parking passes are WAY to expensive at this college compared to other schools. Over all a very stressful and not pleasant experience for me. Only reason why I continue to go here is it's a 10 minute drive from my house. None of my friends in other colleges have had such terrible experiences like I have. Save your money and go to a proper school like Humber.

  • 6ix Blitz

I went to Sheridan welding techniques. The in class work was overly complicated. My welding instructor Edgar was brand new to teaching and was a good welder but a terrible teacher and didn’t really help if he saw your welds weren’t good. My other teachers there were fairly well. I ended up dropping out of Sheridan and continuing my studies with NATS collage where the teachers there are far more tolerant and helpful. Also it’s a school specifically for trades. I’ve been here a month and have already learned more techniques and perfected more welds here than a whole year at Sheridan. The shop time at this school is about double Sheridan overall if your really looking to learn trades go somewhere else

  • Nefzir

Would NEVER recommend Sheridan's continuing education programs. It seems they don't really care about students after they are enrolled. When you speak with their program coordinator for help to seek options when you are not satisfied with the instructor and the program cordinator in a rude tone says "Withdraw from the course if you don't like it". It was hard to believe that she was representing Sheridan but then I thought I am just one student. They have many so they don't really care about a part time student so I withdrew from the course and enrolled in an institution that cares for all students.

  • Sarah Raekelboom

I was informed by email and phone call to collect my transcript in person at any Sheridan Campus. Due to covid they are not doing transcripts. I drove for 2 hours with my infant to collect it. Also the visitor parking isn't free. The campus is a maze of poorly marked hallways, it's not very wheelchair accessible and many of the entrances were locked due to covid. I spent 15 minutes in 2 degree celcius weather and freezing winds with my infant circling the buildings trying to find a way in. Don't tell people to come in and collect something when it's inaccessible and also not possible!

  • Elena Giunta

Sheridan College is a fantastic institute for learning. I graduated from the Marketing and Advertising Communications program in 2014. My professors were all very knowledgable. I put in the time and hard work and made amazing friends at Sheridan. I was ready to start my career and landed a great position where I have been working for 3+ years now. Thank you Sheridan! There are great graduates from many walks of life I have met and they are all from Sheridan :) Work hard and don't forget nothing comes easy in life :) Stay positive thank you.

Amazing school but terrible management Pro: Great curriculum Probably the best teachers in the world for certain fields Specialized classes and connections to local AND international companies Cons: Absolutely terrible student life. It's oakville Campus is so corporate, why does every store need to be some big brand. Where are student businesses? Management is incompetent. It takes forever for anything to get done. Everything from tuition information to changing your student card image is so beauraecratic.

  • Roxane Gabriela

I am current Bachelor of Game Design student at the Trafalgar campus, and I am in love with the school for its community and content. Sheridan had been my dream school since my family and I moved to the area in 2008, and it has definitely lived up to all my expectations. I am the happiest I've ever been and it's largely in part of the amazing staff and student community at Sheridan. The curriculum is relevant, updated, and useful. I feel absolutely privileged to be able to attend such an amazing school.

  • Andy Dandy

Campus is disorganized, one class I was a 95% student, the prof didn't believe I could do something and I proved her wrong. Then following semester she fails me?? Not just me, more than 50% of the class!! Admin were aware but did nothing, until a couple years later that same prof had a mental break down on the students in their class!! Only then did the admin just put that prof of leave for sometime, yet never cared for the students who they failed. Place is a disgrace! I never recommend going here!

  • Jessica Jeffery

Horrible school, withdrew from Vet Tech. At Davis Campus. Some teachers did not know how to teach. Unorganized program with extra exams never mentioned before the orientation in September. Also didn't help students find placements so I was 3 weeks late starting placement for second semester. The only reason I am giving it a star is the awesome admissions department which I got the chance to meet awesome people, and the fact that they do not keep animals in house for practice.

  • Lynn Nguyen

Biggest regret of my life staying here for 4 years and now I’m about to graduate and they can’t even get that right. I inquired about graduating a month ago and they still can’t figure things out even though I finished all the requirements to graduate. The administration is lazy and don’t know what they’re doing. Teachers are 50/50 with half of them not caring of your academic achievements and the other lecturing their work stories and failed attempts in the industry.

  • Blair B

The Comp and Benefits program has tanked under the Associate Director. The program had some excellent instructors but they have all left in 2022. Amazing how one person decimates an entire program. Take your courses elsewhere for your own good. Employers are not hiring from Sheridan College. More complaints from students who are now dealing with instructors who do not know their material. Choose your education wisely. Avoid Sheridan.

  • Matthew Murchison

Headed into second year in BA Game Design, this place is amazing. Our program is to new to have graduates but the success stories form our third year students are beyond what I could have hoped for. The tech we have access to is top notch, and the professors REALLY know their stuff. Several of the professors are actively working in our field as they teach. Not to even mention how much pizza we eat....

  • Sukhamrit Singh

Stayed at the residence complex about three years. It was a pleasant experience overall, except that I wish they had water hoses in the restrooms. The place is clean, quiet with plenty of space to roam around. The cafeteria is okay, they could have more food choices. Overall, I could recommend for a short stay especially if you will be lurking around Brampton area.

  • Joe Doe

You not get value of your money as international student. Sheridan College Administration very ignorant, disrespectful and not very friendly. There is no one to contact directly and take them couple days to response, when you leave message. People who call you back very unprofessional and very little knowledge. If you ask to many question they will hung-up on you.

  • Kuli Lenora

As much as I loved this college, its lacking efficiency in its communications front. Sometimes it was very dissapointing to see how a simple yes and no response takes weeks to come through the international admissions and assessments. This passively damages whatever the reputation it has gained, over the international student community. Hope they will fix that.

  • m oguamanam

Had and still having a bad experience. I applied last year for January 2023 intake. My visa got denied. I requested a refund from the school since same January, I have sent mails upon mails and it feels like I got scammed. I need my money back but they aren’t saying anything. I don’t recommend at all and I wish I could give a zero star to be very honest .

  • RS RS

My friend who is Sheridan business graduate and did several continuing ed courses after graduation, and gave so much business to the college, applied many times to get entry level job at the college, but they did not give him a chance and did not hire him. So, I would rather go to a different college, and would recommend the same to others.

  • Rupali Verma

Worst decision to get admission in this college. They have wasted my one whole year will file a complaint against them . They dont provide any information on time. They dont care about students' life or career. They dont have sense to talk with students. Will not recommend this college to anyone nd will file a complaint.

  • Joshua Freitas (TokenDuelist)

Don't even bother applying to any of the arts courses if you have skills and can teach yourself. You don't need a degree to get into the arts, and the prerequisite classes are a waste of your time an money. Also they are an OSAP trap and will not let you just get off with a certificate.

  • Fraser MacKenzie

Great school. If you end up at the Mississauga campus you will note the quality of in school technologies are immaculate, teachers are great and the schools curriculum is fantastic. I went to Sheridan, honed my craft and am now a local business owner using the skills I learned everyday.

  • Nasir Meraj

Clean, spacious, great tech lab, lots of Macs, great art store, but pricey, it's also a maze, but you'll get accustomed, very creative campus, lots of artwork, hallways full of concept/process work, delightful, lots of parking, decent food selection, some variety on and off campus.

  • Chris Hewson

Got some really nice and passionate professors, but somehow any online content is either uncomfortable at best and dysfunctional at worst (looking at you, elective choosing). definitely hold off until things open up for in-person classes again, its not worth the online pain.

I went Sheriadan college open house event on November 2023 for my daughter. It was a great event, and very informative. Parking was free for all visitors for the open house event. Staffs are very friendly and given enough information and guidance for the Animation program.

  • Vanraj Lamborghini

College may be not that bad but college doesn't accept cash or credit card for fee payment. I mean they ask for 9000$ for one semester from International student and it will be really tough to arrange 9K$ in 3-4 months and credit card could be really helpful to survive.

  • Beata B

Very disappointing staff ( teachers ... if you can call them that ...) Office people are very lazy and can’t even pick up the phone. Calculating tuition - wow - they have no idea ! Please update your skills. How come no one is looking in to that shameless practices ?

Financial aid department of this college is a joke, they make you wait 2+ hours in line for a call and then cancel last minute. I sent an email over a week ago, no response, seriously regret joining this college over alternatives such as Seneca.
