>>NEW PLACE IN PLACE OF RIVER CITY EXOTICS<< The young lady that worked at River City Exotic mentioned opening her own shop, when River City Exotic was closing its doors, though downsizing on space. And I have to say, I absolutely love it. At first, I thought she didn't open it since I was looking at the spot where River City Exotic was once located(which now, half of it is going to be a tattoo shop that is opening soon) but it's actually down left a few stores/duplex down. Inside its very cute and neat and Rhiannon(Owner and Operator that use to work at River City) is very helpful and attentive. She is very knowledgeable and friendly. This store is mainly for people needing feeders like crickets, superworms, mice, and rats but they do sell Bettas and snakes. Rhiannon mentioned on hopefully getting and setting up scorpions, guinea pigs, and rabbits soon so I can't wait to see the final results! My new favorite place for feeders for all my reptile babies ♡ Edit: They have a much bigger selection on pets now. Bearded Dragons, Iguanas, various snakes, scorpions, spiders, and rabbits. They also have pet supplies like water bottle, housing, food, and cages as well.

How this place doesn’t have a consistent 5 star review is beyond me. The owners take perfect care of their reptiles and they are stored and provided with excellent care. Only someone who doesn’t know how to properly care for snakes would go on google and make comments about snakes living in breeding shelves with only heat, water and bedding (that’s literally why it’s own snakes, they are a minimum care reptile and only need what they need). This establishment goes above and beyond in regards to quality and safety of their animals. As a life long reptile owner/breeder the owners know exactly what they are doing and none of the animals are mistreated and are properly fed and taken care of. Don’t listen to the negative reviews of those that are not intelligent enough to properly understand what it takes to care for a such a large variety of animals. I highly recommend this shop.

Wow! I can’t believe people are hating on this pet store. They take great pride in caring for their animals and will even talk people out of a purchase if the customer is not aware of what they are getting themselves into. If I had a concern, I know I could speak to them and they would do the right thing. What happened to supporting your community and helping one another? This is why the world is the way it is now. We should spread love and not hate. So glad this place opened makes feeding my reptiles live mice so easy.. And staff is really nice and knowledgeable.

If you ever went to Mike’s at River City Exotics, this is the straight funnel towards and equivalence in customer service and QUALITY. DUDE, they have healthy non cannibilizing crickets and HEATHTY crickets that survive 24 hours + they are healthy as you could ever hope. Wide variety of exotic pets, variety of niche exotic tools and treats, he most friendly staff in existence. And they care about your satisfaction. Rhiannon will be so successful here and you should be a part of it. I can’t wait to get a lizard from her. So knowledgeable

I got my sulcata tortoise here and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You can tell they really care for these animals and want them to go to a good home that know how to take care of them. Their prices are very reasonable for the the products they sell and I was able to get lots of rabbit pellets to line my tortoise's terrarium and buy the uvb bulb, heat pad, calcium powder, and eye drops. They have a variety of products there and wonderful, healthy pets to choose from!

I absolutely love this shop! When I had bought my first ball python, I had a hard time finding feeders until I found Sherwood Forest Feeders. They are always willing to answer my questions and humar me when I want to check out their new snakes they are personalable and passionate about what they do. I know that if I ever had an issue, I am 100% confident they will work with me towards a resolution. I won't go anywhere else for my reptile needs! Thank you for all you do!

I ended up leaving my first visit to the shop left me very impressed. My usual feeder store is clear across town in Universal City, so finding out that this store was much closer is a blessing. Not only did they let me take my very tired corgi puppy inside so he didn't roast in the car, but they were very helpful in getting me feeders for my snakes and even asked of they had a color preference so they didn't refuse the food. They definitely care for the animals' well-being!

I initially wrote a review expressing my dissatisfaction because the lack of due diligence of the staff (giving us a male instead of a female hamster), but I deleted it. I decided to repost because not only was she not a male, but they housed her with males so she is pregnant and going to give birth any time now. We are beyond frustrated with this and strongly suggest if you do business here, double check everything because they wont.

Sherwood Forest Feeders is a true GEM. Small exotic feed shop that has TRUE knowledgeable owner, woman owned and GREAT PRICES (better than big box places)...we buy crickets from Sherwood for $2 vs $5 at Petsmart. All of them are alive and healthy vs. 50% dead crickets!!!! I encourage everyone to visit this place. You get great feed and support a small business which is no brainer of win/win situation.

Soooo helpful here! Had all my questions answered super easily and they have really well taken care of pets from snakes to turantulas, to guinea pigs. Feeder mice in different sizes live or freshly dead option, and crickets available here at great prices. Even some tank supplies! Love this place and my go-to store for feeder mice! Friendly. Professional. Reasonably priced. Close to the house. Be aware that the super worms they sell can eat through the plastic bags they put them in given enough time. Put them in a more secure container when you get home or you'll have these monsters roaming around your house. Don't ask me how I know this...

This place is under new management. Owner seems great. Same animals like snakes, lizards, insects and rodents of all sizes. I like this place because of the individualized attention and employees knowledge of animal facts and details. You can tell they know, love and enjoy animals as much as we do.

The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to helping my boy pick out his first snake and all necessary accessories. We have been coming to this store since it has opened, and we will continue to shop here for as long as they are open. Definitely would recommend feeder mice.

What can I say about the best pet store ever. The sherwoods are so honest, giving and nice people. They have what your looking for. Plenty of feeder creatures to keep your reptiles and birds and small mammals alive. Tell then Sasha sent you and you will get a smile and great service.

This young lady at the counter knows EVERYTHING about snakes... thank you for letting my kids pet the snake. After our conversation, I am considering coming back for one. Especially since you have the snake starter pack thingy, lol. Will definitely stop in here rather than petsmart.

Great place for any reptile needs, friendly and knowledgeable always willing to answer my questions. I was worried I would never find another place for feeders after river city closed but I am definitely happy with this one you can't beat the prices and healthy feeders they sale.

With the scarcity of stores serving exotic pets in the Alamo City, it was such a relief when this store opened a little over a year ago. The owner, Rhiannon, is super helpful about any questions you have regarding your exotics. I highly recommend this place.

We were directed to Sherwood by a corporate pet store and we love this place. The staff is always nice, welcoming and willing to answer every question we have. I did not get our first snake from Sherwood but will certainly get the next one here.

I came to this store a while ago and I noticed that animals were not being taken care of properly and they were selling harmful products. A small black cage near the back of the store holds three rats, two of which are really underweight
