Went to Kingsway Shoppers Drug Mart and had the worst customer experience of my life with my sister . I have worked retail and know what proper protocol is as well as customer service. My sister and I went in just to get one item and thought oh cool self checks let's try them. Went through the process of purchasing it and everything was fine until the receipt printed and it was blank. So we asked the lady at the till if she could reprint the receipt as it came out blank normally we wouldn't care about the receipt but my sister wasn't sure if it was it was the right product. She said she wasn't able to help but got someone else. They had difficulty finding the function to reprint the receipt that was only for the last transaction once she did it came out blank. So she asked the first lady we asked to assist . They asked if the paper was in correctly she reassured her that it was and she printed yet another blank receipt. At this point it was been at least 7-8 mins of them trying the first lady then called their night supervisor Rachel to assist. Once she came up she tried putting a transaction through and print a receipt but it also came out blank.Rachel then check one of the other two tills to see how the paper was and realized that it was in fact in the wrong way so she fixed the paper on the machine we used and went to reprint. Now remember how I said it said last transaction receipt reprint well now our receipt was override with the receipt she made making it not possible to print the receipt from the till. Rachel said she would be right back she just had to print it in the back. At this point we are already agitated so we continue to wait which is taking forever now another 7-8 minutes go by in this time we asked the first lady we talked to for the store phone number and store managers name as well as the district manager she had to call someone to ask if she could give that out she then stated it was against store policy to give that out besides the stores phone number. We asked if there was a complaint line and she wouldn't give us any other number. A fourth person named Mary was then called to the office in with Rachel was supposedly printing off the receipt since she was have difficulty I presume. We then request that we get a refund as the wait was ridiculous. I asked if they were trained on the machines in which they all stated they were but the first lady stated that they have never had this issue before. We then request that we get a refund since it was already taken so long. She then stated she was not authorized to do a return and called Rachel back up to perform the return she then came up in which I got her name and soon after Mary came out with the receipt. Mary then left and soon had to come back as Rachel stated she didn't know how to do a refund without a receipt but gave us Shoppers Drug Mart 1-800 number.I would like to also make it clear that none of these employees were wearing their name badges and I know working retail that those are mandatory to be worn and in place I worked would be a write up . Mary then came up and did the refund in which we asked again if they had all been trained on the self checkouts in which she replied yes. This is the worst customer service I have even had and I believe the staff at this store need some more training especially if the night supervisor can't even do a refund without a receipt.

This review is for the pharmacy in Shoppers Kingsway. I have only ever had a good experience with two of the regular pharmacists. I have been going to this location for my medication for over 3 years. I'm happy I no longer have to. The medication I'm prescribed affects my mood and mental functions heavily, especially between dosages. I had recieved a dosage increase from my doctor. Brought in the prescription on paper. Asked to have it filled. Came back to pick it up and it was not the dosage increase. The pharmacist was very firm that I didn't have a dosage increase on file. Months went by without my proper dosage until I new staff noticed on my file that I should of been having double of my dosage. To me that's a really big mistake to be made for medication. I also have had multiple times where they said they would fax my doctor for my perception but had to keep calling back or going in to get them to do it. So it would take almost a week of back and forth between calling my doctor and asking the pharmacist to fax them just to get my medication. Again this medication can cause mood swings and affects my mental health drastically when not taken properly. Something I would like to address is one female pharmacist whom has always spoken to me in a negative manor. When calling the pharmacy she has answered the phone the most. I don't know what could be going on in her life to speak to people so awfully, and bring it out towards patients. When she speaks to you it's as if she hates her job and thinks you're stupid. No I'm not exaggerating or being to sensitive I have numerous times put my phone on speaker to prove to my friends or family how this women speaks to me, they're shocked that someone would have this job when they sound like the hate it with a passion. I would hope that a person in this position that speaks to patients daily about medication could have a little bit more compassion it doesn't take much to be nice to a patient on the phone when they're calling for your help. Luckily I'm aware of how outside matters can affect your well being and attitude towards others. However I'm not sure others would consider this or understand why they're being spoken to so poorly. . The fact that I cringe everytime I have to call my pharmacy because I don't want to speak to that women should say enough. I almost worry for younger people or older people who she might of spoken to like that. I hope things get better for her, whether it's her personal life affecting her well being or she just hates her job and hates talking to people. - Your job is to take care of others, so I hope you start to take care of yourself too.

I've been forced 2 get my medication at this location, probably bcuz it's the nearest location 2 my doctors office, when I first started taking methadone I was told that I had 2 go 2 this location bcuz my insurance didn't cover the pharmacy downstairs, below the methadone clinic...then a week or so later I guess indian affairs approved the Kingston pharmacy or added it 2 this list of pharmacies approved...and they asked me more then once if I wanted 2 switch but said no bcuz I hate the location where that pharmacy is...I know kingsway isn't that far away from Panorama but I prefer it there bcuz at least I can go get my meds at night instead of having 2 go early in the day at rush hour.... Despite getting into a dispute with one of the pharmacists there bcuz their trainee gave me an extra 5MLS ofor methadone instead of the laxative I got in a similar bottle I get my juice in...I didnt make it home before my boyfriend called my dad's phone saying I need 2 get a hold of the pharmacist bcuz the gave me extra methadone by accident... the guy asked me if I took it and I said no so he wanted 2 come get it from me that night but he didn't come right away so I assumed he wasn't coming and apparently he came after 10pm...and I still returned the dosend 2 the other pharmacist the next day after my appointment with the doctor despite the pharmacies policy in how they're not allowed 2 accept any meds back...Bethany was nice about it and showed actual concern for my wellbeing whereas the guy just wanted 2 save his job and that as all he was concerned about was not getting fired... Every since that situation that guy has been a total dick...bcuz of him I missed a urine test and that's not good and looKS bad on my part...his excuse for not notifying me the day he got it was bcuz I came early the day before so he had no time 2 prepare or whatever bullshit excuse he said...it was so unbelievable I didn't remember what he said ad just made me mad...bcuz I had go in 2 the clinic and sign a paper indicating that if I miss a dose I will be weaned off... Other then that they're nice people who work there and a couple of their other pharmacistside went out of their way 2 wait for me while I was on my way there in a cab bcuz I missed my bus...and they let me inside after hours as long as I didn't make it a habit... I want 2 get transferred 2 the shoppers on 137ave by my place that way there would be no need for a bus pass

I'm at post offices on a weekly basis and the post office in this Shoppers at Kingsway mall in Edmonton is the absolute worst one of all. The staff that run it are are extremely rude and unprofessional. For example they refused to mail out my package because I was re-using an old FedEx box and they're was a small FedEx logo on the side of the box. First I chuckled because I thought she was joking but no she was dead serious! She got really upset and told me that if she accepts the box then she is supporting their main competetor. After waiting in line for almost an hour at this point I just wanted to get this done so I politely asked if I can borrow her black sharpy felt pen and scribble over the FedEx logo to which she just refused. Talk about a hostile attitude towards another company. Now when I'm forced to go there there there is also a touch tablet where you have to sign your name to pickup packages and at the end of the transaction there is a customer survey that pops up that asks "please rate how happy you are with out service from 1-10. Everytime it pops up the cashier reaches over the counter and gives herself a perfect 10 rating! I've seen them doing this for every customer that I watched that was before me. So don't trust their own" rating" system as it's pure lies. I would love to say that this was just a one off experience but I've had the same experiences every time that I have to go there for last 5 years or so. I wish I lived in a different area so my packages don't get rerouted here for pickups.

Staff provided me with top-notch service and had for almost 3 years quite frequently!! Well done Manager to hire the staff you had. People have come and moved to other ventures but it was VERY seamless. This shows the importance of the TRUE MEANING of healthcare not just entering a RXs and collecting information and moving onward. The consultant room is there for a move private question you may have, *** they have truly helped me with NEW BEGINNING (10-26-2016) STARTED IN CALGARY and continued Mid-December @ Kingsway, support like that are helping with my SUCCESSFUL recovery. So Sean, Peter and Prath MANY more the are not the (including Azhar who has recently moved onord to describe him W●O●W, missed but I expect amazing things from this young man, (so young but in a GOOD way, he'll be a wonderful asset where he lands. And if this note can be forwarded onward to him...should have be sent sooner, but time flies. He'll know who I am...a 7:50am client. All the BEST!!! CSF

There is a cashier lady who worked from around 8:00 to 8:30 pm on August 22 and had a very bad attitude. Can’t believe she can talk to customers like this. I bought a skin product a few days ago, but due to the allergy reactions to my skin, I brought it back to return. I did not have the receipt with me, because as a shoppers consumer, in these 7 years, they never asked me for a receipt for returning a product. I can have my membership card scanned and the return will be made. She kept saying "You need your receipt" even though I tried to explain to her my shoppers’ return experience. I understand if she doesn't know how to make a return to the membership card. But here is my advice to you, YOU CAN TALK NICELY!!! Instead of repeating the same thing over and over again, listen to the customer first. And don’t react like we don’t understand, and don’t stare at the look of hate, YOU CAN SMILE. Expect her, everyone is nice.

My friend was misidentified as the wrong person and told to leave the store. No staff or manager has apologized, not even a “Sorry”. When we asked the manager Garfield why my friend was banned, he refused to tell us and said they don’t need a reason, and have every right to refuse anyone. Of course, you can refuse shoplifters or criminals. But also any innocent customer? Later, they realized it was a mistake and my friend was cleared. But they never said sorry and their attitude was still strong and defensive. What happened to my friend was unfair and horrible, but a genuine apology from the store could have made the experience less bitter. I really don’t expect the store to have excellent customer service standards, but at least do NOT accuse innocent paying customers! Disgusting. We’re not coming back.

This pharmacy is the SLOWEST pharmacy in Edmonton. Every time I go to pick up my meds I have to wait well over an hour, even if my doctors office faxed it to them days in advance. I know they’re slow so I waited a day to pick up my meds, even called in the morning to check that they were ready. Yet when I came to pick them up they had me wait again for over an hour. There was even a time where my bottle had refills left but the person at the counter said they couldn’t refill it until they spoke to the doctors office and confirmed the refill, which they were closed so they would be unable to do. Once I asked to speak to the head pharmacist, they suddenly were able to fill the prescription that day. Every time I come to get my prescription filled here, I leave frustrated. Just save yourself the hassle

This is kinda sad I have to rate 3 stars. I've been going here to the pharmacy for years and never had problem even know some of the pharmacist by first name. I was astonished at the tone and the wording of the newer blonde working there and this is not the first time that she has a bad tone. I really don't think she likes working there. I was waiting beside a few gentlemen, waiting for their prescription and she snarked " are you here for a prescription or something" I was just waiting and looking at my phone waiting for my turn in line. All I ask is maybe a good morning or a hello how can I help you. I'll be moving providers as I work in retail and I would of been pulled aside for speaking that way to a customer. Thank you for the long run of great service and good luck to the future

Went to the pharmacy looking for Tylenol or Advil for a sick child. There was none on the shelf. I know there is a shortage. I went to the pharmacy desk and asked the pharmacist assistant if they had any. She said no. I asked if they could compound some she said they were out of the necessary material. I then asked what dose of adult medication I could use. This is when she sighed, turned to a drawer opened it and handed me a bottle of children's Tylenol. She flat out lied to me and if I hadn't persisted I would have left without what I needed. I wonder how many other parents she turned away. I went back and spoke to the pharmacist about it who apologized but to me what she did was lazy, unprofessional and potentially harmful. Don't trust the staff here.

Although the pharmacy staff is friendly, they repeatedly lost prescriptions faxed my my dentist and doctors. After I requested they fax my doctor for a prescription refill, I was told my doctor never responded. In fact, after contacting my doctor, the pharmacy had faxed a refill request for a medicine I did not request. I recently picked up my prescription for prednisone, took one of the pills in the car, only to realize they gave me SOMEONE ELSE’S medicine. It was a blood pressure medication for a man, not my prescription. I went back in later to give back the medicine and get the one prescribed to me. The pharmacist on staff said he would call me the next day to see how I was feeling, and never did. I have since switched to another pharmacy.

I usually have a good experience with the workers here but the Pharmacist today was probably the most terrible worker I've ever encountered. His name was Hammeen (not sure the full name), an older, tall, brown, male and ragged hair. I went in to buy some meds for my sister and I am not really familiar with medicines so I was asking him a few things and instead of helping me, he just got mad and yelled at me in front of everyone in the store. Not only did that made me feel embarrass, it also made me not want to ever go back to this place again. I wanted to tell someone in the store but he was apparently the pharmacist manager so I ended up not to. I hope this never happens to anyone else :(

  • KryX

Pharmacist Hameen Mohammad (don't recall his name fully) was the most disrespectful, rude, and by far the worst customer service I have received anywhere in the world (Not an exaggeration). I visited this establishment at around 6pm, which should not translate to the dreaded "can't wait to go home" attitude that Hameen displayed the moment we requested for his help. Kingsway shoppers is by no means short of good workers as many of them helped us where Hameen fails miserably. I advise anyone looking for proper pharmaceutical care to look anywhere else as Hameen will make that impossible for you. I will not be back for the pharmacy so long as Hameen Mohammad works there.

I’m an employee for the company at a different location so I am quite familiar with the protocol with lost prevention. Every time I go to this location I have 3 cosmeticians following me around which whatever it’s ok but the last experience I had here was it for me. I came in with my 10 year old niece, I grabbed 2 products from the derm section and my niece asked me why the lady kept following us, so I told the cosmetician I was staff so she knew I wasn’t stealing, regardless of that the cosmetician Rachael Lawrence proceeded to physically take the product out of my basket. Horrible customer service, will never give them commission ever again.

What a terrible place to shop..i went in only to buy someething i nedded and while in the hallway all of a sudden security circles and sales people accusing his handicaped woman of stealing.she could hardly talk and this sales lady kept saying how she saw her steal.her belongings were searched and she had not stolen anything.security on the line with ploice not letting anyone go anywhere..how humilitating for anyone there and for this lady that just got an apology..beware when you visit this store..you are treated like a criminal and always watched like a babysitter always watching your every move..

  • adelay earle

mail clerk was rude, not helpful, and typed in the wrong address despite me spelling it out for her verbally. I think she was distracted by the chaos of her coworker. The man paired with her frustrated and embarrassed me to the point I felt I needed to explain I was unaware of shipping processes. My package was obviously shipped to the wrong place and I had to pay again to have it shipped to the address I gave her. I hope it arrives on time. They were both unprofessional, but the girl was much easier to work with. just go to a different shoppers!

  • Michael Tenorio

The Sales associate ask the security to go to the boutique section after I enter in and stay while I’m looking for a cologne. I decided to go to aisle 1 and see if there’s something I can buy and then I saw the security standing near me. Even going back to boutique section to pay, the security was standing there! Why do this employee needs to call security and ask them to follow the customer? It’s the first time that happens to me followed by a security. I’m a regular customer of this shoppers location.

This is a typical Shopper's Drug Mart with all regular features. The staffs are nice and friendly. It is located inside the Kingsway Mall and serves the community well. I visit this store quite often and I have pleasant experience so far. They have good quality health and beauty products. Also, they have some essential grocery items such as egg, milk, pasta, cookies, pops, breads, noodles, pizza etc. The store is clean and well organized. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • Jay Mutchler

I use the Pharmacy at this location and shop for odds & ends. All the staff in the store have always been great! Hands down to the Pharmacy for excellent service. Pharmacists Ahmed & Sean have gone above and beyond to help me out with their excellent service! Thanks men you're awesome guys 100%. Cashiers and the ladies in the Cosmetic side always say hello and are always sweethearts! The owner needs to know about Ahmed & Sean. When credit is due...it's due! Best Regards

  • Alleah B

I just want to commend this pharmacy, the last Shoppers I used in Spruce Grove was great but this one is even better. The staff are soooo nice, always looking out for my best interests. They all wished me a happy birthday when I picked up my Rx a couple days later. I haven't had anything less than a great interaction there so far, and I've been served by lots of the staff there. I'm glad I found such a good pharmacy so close to my apartment!

  • JL

I don't normally go to this location for my prescriptions but I dropped off and filled them that day, everything fine. I phoned today to get the rest filled, because I couldn't get everything with my insurance plan. The pharmacist I spoke to was wonderful. Instead of just taking the info needed, she asked me how I was doing on the medication, and about side affects. Very pleasant and knowledgeable to speak to. Thank you.

  • Dennis “DennisM1979” Meszaros

Was followed around rudely and obviously by security and another cashier. I understand that everyone has a job to do but I was doing my best to comparitive shop for a good price on diapers for my friends newborn baby. When I asked some questions of the cashier helping with the surveillance he was short and very rude. Overall, bad style, poor customer relations and the whole experience left me feeling judged negatively.

  • Ian Houle

Dropped off my script and they didn't fill it out for the next day. Got my mediction and the only gave me half of what it said. Not impressed at all. Talk to Raj B. Took care of my problem and was very knowledgeable. dont go when busy. Doctor mad a mistake on script and the one tech there b*ched me out for not looking and making sure the doctor filled it out right. Not impressed and moving locations.

  • Eunice Liang

Realky RUDE lady at Canada post couter. Had to find the mail box myself and the way she was talking with me was most likely telling me to do it. When I told her she's attitude is not that good at the end, she double asked me "are u sure" and gave me a laughing face. People like that must do not know what is customer service and I also hope the people like that should be trained again!

  • Delores Leonard

This is my go to Shoppers drug mart. The beautyboutique ladies in particular are wonderful. I find it a bit unnerving to be followed around like a criminal while I drop hundreds on luxury make up, but hey, that's the area. Great stock and sales are great. Perhaps if the city didn't promote and foster vagrancy, Edmonton's best local business's wouldn't have to be so harsh.

  • Francis Ray Moralde

So unprofessional, we leave the prescription 7pm and comeback the following day 12nn, meds still not ready. Ive been asked to wait 20 minutes.! Urghh! Dont come here specially the staff are rude. Calling the supervisor and retrain this people! Or better yet send them to far shoppers till they resign. Head pharmacist thinks he is the prime minister of shoppers!

  • Beth Baillie

Terrible customer service. Something rang it at the wrong price that was supposed to be on sale (an expensive item) and when I went back to have it fixed they told me I was out of luck. They would not accept the return or price adjust and told me it was a new rule. I had to drive to a different location. Not impressed.

  • Rana S

I went to Shoppers to buy perfumes and I feel lucky to have Katie at the front. Katie helped me a lot. She is friendly, polite, knowledgeable and has a positive attitude. I wanted to buy floral fragrances and she suggested me the right products considering the specifications I mentioned. Shine on Katie. Thanks a lot.

  • Kiki mayes

pharmacists give you attitude, take forever for refills even when called in 2-3days prior, delivery time is never estimated and you have to wait hoursss, Called in to have meds transfered to go into the place and be told it wasnt done, lack of effort, communication and downright rude and lazy

  • Gwendolyn Westwind

A friend of mine worked here until she had a mental heath crisis. When the manager found out he told her she was a worthless person, that she didn't deserve a job, that she could either quit right there or he would fire her, and encouraged her to kill herself. Which she did two weeks later.

  • VA FAO

I was running late for my appointment and met with Pharmacist Eddie i explained my situation and in less than 3 minutes i had my prescription filled, insurance info completed and paid my portion. To add the cherry on the icing he gave me the faster route to my doctors office in the mall.

  • Gabbie Parker

The shoppers itself is great and the employees are friendly! The pharmacy however, is always running late and some of the employees don't seem as friendly. They've also messed up the number of refills on my prescription, which was frustrating as I ran out a month early than planned for.

  • Kris Clements

I have shopped here since I moved here & have never been followed by guards. Weird. I also have to say that Kennedy the cashier is fantastic. Amazing customer service & incredibly polite. Highly recommend. Also have to mention how awesome the cosmetics ladies are.

  • Mykal, Simon Giesbrecht

this pharmacy is used by panorama Indian affairs patients bcuz it's the closest pharmacy by the clinic that Indian affairs accepts and the reason why they don't just letc the panorama just choose the Kingston pharmacy like the other patients they make go there

  • Jesse hayward

The pharmacist (Megan I think her name was) that helped me over the phone and filled my prescription yesterday is easily the most pleasant pharmacy employee I've ever encountered in Edmonton. Quick in and out trip, she even remembered my name from my voice.

  • Veronique W

They forgot twice in a row to deliver my meds and now I have none until I can get a hold of them. Made it a once a month delivery but didn't realize I had to remind them to send them. Maybe change this review if they get better at remembering. …

My experience shopping at this store was horrible. Every time I go in there I get followed by the security guard. I feel like I am being racially profiled as a women that wears a hijab. I am very disappointed and I will never shop at this location.

  • Ian Dunn

I go to the pharmacy in this location and it feels like they are doing you a favour giving you your prescription. They are unfriendly and pushy. This place needs a staff that’s friendly and mirrors the staff in other areas of the store.

  • Cuong Tran

I came here to get my COVID vaccine, and Nadeem Ashraf was fantastic! I really appreciate his professionalism and eagerness to help. We need more pharmacists who are as kind and courteous as he is. Thank you for all your help, Nadeem!

Despite having to come here twice in one day on the weekend, the security guard followed me the ENTIRE time I was in there. The first time being to only drop off a package. Made for a very uncomfortable time when shopping.

Been going here for many years. Never had a problem. Staff very helpful and friendly. Even when there is new staff, they remember my name. This location is farther than I would like to go but it's worth it.

  • Sondra Austin

Stopped by the pharmacy to ask a question, both pharmacists were incredibly helpful! They prescribed a cream without being asked, a well as answered all of the questions we had! Great service

  • Amy Powell

The post office makes customers purchase over priced tape to ship their packages. Isn't that supposed to be part of shipping a package? Rude to customers. I will be speaking to head office.

  • Dedrea Larocque

The staff was very friendly and helpful . The only reason I wouldn't go back to shop their is the secury guard , he followed us around the store , basically harassed us till we left!!

  • Daniel Alati

N.B: This only applies to the post office. The Canada Post at this location is consistently and severely understaffed. Avoid at all costs if you value your time.

  • Arvind Jith

So sad to say Britney the supervisor in charge was really unprofessional and rude .. she is not the right supervisor.. u guys gonna loose a lots of customers

Raj is a good dude in there. He is always so chill in there and treats me with lots of respect. If he isn't the associate there, he should be.

  • Cesar Santiago

They should not allow their employees using their phone during hours of work because they are becoming less attentive to customers and rude.

  • Mayas Maghrby

This white employee is racist. (I've marked it with an arrow in the pictures.) She is at the height of impoliteness and bullying.

  • Johnathan Kelly

Horrible customer service, they make you wait so long. And they never pick up the phone, even manager does not pick up the phone.
