Abraham Shortridge High is one of the oldest High Schools in the city. Birch Bath and Kurt Vonnegut are both graduates. The only High School to print a Dailey Newspaper and a broadcasting Radio Station that produced many of the early dicsjockeys at Radio Station WTLC, Indys first R and B station. Shortridge and Gary Roosevelt met for the. Basketball State Championship in 1969. It was the first time two All Black teams met to decide the crown. Gary Roosevelt won by 6 points.
