7 Baker is a twist on your typical Asian bakery. They have a big selection of interesting buns and cakes. Pricing wise, I think it's reasonable but compared to your traditional Asian bakery it's expensive. Seating was pretty limited, so would recommend going during less busy time during the day or just getting take out. I got the matcha bun with red bean and mochi filling. There wasn't much matcha flavour but if you really like red bean then this might be for you! The soft and chewy bun was filled with mochi and a generous dollop of red bean paste. Overall, interesting combination of textures (chewy mochi, soft bread and thick red bean paste) with a very heavy red bean flavour. My dad liked these buns since he loves mochi and red bean, so if you love them as well then these are worth trying.

My spouse and I came for a small cake and the cashier straight up told us they don't have ready to go cake and we have to order online. Then we were about to go to our way to another bakery. Suddenly a guy approached us from inside the store and told us they can make a cake within 15 minutes. We chose The Mousse and until at the cashier we were billed $60 for a 7 inches Mousse cake. It's way overpriced compared with competitors with same quality. To be fair, their cake texture and taste quite to our liking. It looks great too! I'm seeing the same feedback from other customers that their price is too expensive. In this pandemic times, they better listen to their customers.

These new Hong Kong buns are soooooo tasty!! They are sooooo soft and the flavours are of a wide variety and I love them all! Especially the tuna one and the Charsiu one ! The promostion now 6/$9.99 made me already bought 24 in total and I'm going back to get more. These are so ideal for a quick breakfast. I kinda hope there are 2 sausages inside the sausage one, and I was expecting dried meat floss inside the bum for the meat floss one instead of just on the top. But besides that, everything else is good! ------- I can't believe that they actually took my advice onlime and put meat floss inside the bum!! It taste even better now!!!

Asian styled European inspired bakery with friendly staffs and unique pastries. The sweets bread are mild in flavour and not overly sweet. I got the darjeeling milk bread and while I wished it had more of a tea flavour, it was decent and very filling. This place is much better than the asian bakery closer to Eaton. I would definitely visit again for their cakes and croissants next time. UPDATE: The matcha croissants are best thing on the menu (but their machine broke recently). I tried some of their cakes and breads however they are more pretty rather than tasty. The garlic bread is not bad, but I was dissappointed with the cakes.

I bought this cake a day ago. It was great yesterday night but when we ate it the next morning, it tasted sour due the milk they used. Also, can you see the cake started to mold? Please reply to my email Shucake if you see this review. Why a big brand with 3 locations around Toronto never reply to your customer? P/s: They resolved the problem by giving me a 20% coupon for the next order. This isn’t definitely a good offer after I dumped more than 1/2 of the cake. Moreover, PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT CAKES YOU PURCHASE AT THIS STORE CAN ONLY LAST SEVEN HOURS EVEN KEEPING IN THE FRIDGE.

It's really not okay to buy a cake and not get any utensils, plus they charge extra for it. Their attitude is also really bad, and they won't even honor an expired promotion. If they can't afford to keep the promotion going, they shouldn't offer it. When I asked if delivery was an option, they told me the promotion had already ended. It's just like how they told me the last time I was there.

The prices are a ripoff. Both strawberry & mango cream box cake have the same price. Any sane person would believe that the portion size would be the same too. But the strawberry cake comes in a much smaller quantity than the mango for the same price. The business owners could be at least transparent about the price and portion size. Gonna give them 2 stars as their products taste good but will not be ordering from them again!!!!

Love the unique flavours this bakery offers. They make high quality bread - not the ones like you are biting into air. I also love their bubble tea. Some of my favourite items are Nutty Espresso, Matcha Lava, Charcoal Sausage. And the mini cakes they make look like art pieces. If you are in this neighbourhood, it's a must-try. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. They also accept WeChat and Alipay.

The entrance was hidden, not very visible. Real cramped as you walk in, but not an issue if it isn't a lot of people that day. They have such unique buns, if you order 6 or more it's all tax free. Their patisserie were not overly sweet if that's your kinda thing, but beautiful in design for sure. Maybe the cash desk can be a bit more organized in terms of wayfinding. Lovely new store that's worth checking out!

The croissant with matcha filling is delicious and fresh. It’s better than the other ones I’ve tried around Toronto. The filling is creamy and and there’s lots of it. The croissant is fresh, flaky, and crispy, and not too hard. It’s a cute place for little desserts, and the staff are sweet and helpful. I also tried one of their little chocolate milk tea cakes and it was delicious too. No complaints here!

Ordered a birthday cake online and it did not disappoint! The cake is called "Chantlli"- the cream is so light yet has this fresh, rosy taste. It's subtly sweet, exactly the kind of dessert I've been searching for! They've got a great selection of sliced cakes and bread too. My only suggestion would be a re-do of the entrance for easier navigation, but other than that, no complaints here!

Bought a 40$+ cake. Less than 10m from the the store the handle breaks and I was holding it normally and walking. I go back to the store and they said they can’t do anything as I had already left the store. Box quality is terrible, would highly recommend higher quality boxes. Was not compensated or given a replacement cake.

Shucakes ice cream is probably one of our new favourites in the city. With a variety of flavours that you probably can't get anywhere else, the Thai tea one is probably the one that I'd recommend to anyone looking for an ice cream with deep flavours and you wouldn't regret getting more than one scoop of.

PRICE : overpriced ($6.99 for this bread) TASTE : good but it's a pity fillings are tiny TEXTURE : very soft and little bit chewy COFFEE : only $0.99 SELECTION : there are only two kinds of breads such as this pic's type(a lots of flavours they have tho) and croissants. STORE : no washroom, 10 seats.

Tried their cake couple times. It is not bad but still feels overpriced. One time i bought the mochi box but the mochi portion was hard already. Roll cake edges can be a bit dried from the fridge. The buns I never tried but they are so tiny for a starting price of $4. They all look very pretty tho.

It was a delight to visit their soft opening, the atomosphere was pleasant and it's a place where you can grab and go for freshly baked goods and desserts . Since it just started, there wasn't enough space for people to stay and enjoy the product on the spot. But eventually it's a good start! …

I’m still upset since they gave me a 20% coupon after I dumped half of the cake I purchased. I kept the cake in the fridge overnight and the next morning, it tasted sour and become to mold. As a big brand, please know how to make your customer satisfied with your services, Shu Cake!!!

Got the garlic ham bread for $5 and found it to be quite good. Really soft, the garlic is a bit subtle but nothing breathtaking. I originally came here for some of the interesting fusion breads I've seen but didn't seem to see any in the store which was disappointing.

The staff are very friendly and it is a very chill environment. The moment you walk in you get smacked in the face with the amazing smell of delicious baked goods. They very cute displays up and it matches the taste of the food. I liked the experience over all.

  • hua cheng

The cake is undersized by an inch. The whipped cream tastes great but is not firm at all. The birthday also came without any cutlery. It so happens that it is poorly balanced inside and fell over (see picture). Overall good cake but overpriced.

  • R S

I'm a regular customer and a big fan of their mochi boxes. The pastries on the shelves are pretty great too though my favourites are often sold out early-mid afternoon. Haven't had their cakes yet and hope to try that in the future.

  • Yang

Overpriced. Their cake portions got smaller over the year and their sticky rice is not well layered. Do not recommend spending money here.

awesome store, many choices, a bit pricy tho. They provide samples for most of the breads. The picture is Garlic&ham. Better to be there not too late if you wanna see all the products. Some sold out fast.

  • Oliver Macklem

I would not order custom cakes from here. The chef is not in house so the process takes forever. They called me back saying they couldn't do what was promised. Final quality was low and price was high

  • Jonalyn Aguilar

Soooo good! This is the best cake I’ve had in a long time. I got the Fresh Mango Box cake and planned to save half, but I devoured it in minutes! Very generous amount of fresh fruit and not too sweet.

  • Fan Xie

The green one is not Matcha but pistachio and is surprisingly good! Highly recommended. It’s mouse body and really gentle in terms of flavour as well as creamy texture. Staff is also very welcoming

  • A L

3.5 Maybe I misunderstood the product, but their "box cakes" don't have any actual cake (ie. sponge/flour) in them, it's just cream and the fillings. Still okay in taste, but I wanted cake

  • Poly U

Won’t order from them! Never! Only the appearance is ok. The taste is soso, the strawberry is sour. The price is totally overpriced, with bad customer service. In conclusion, a bad trip.

  • tania martina

The bread has a hard texture and hard to chew and taste like chemical or paint. Not tipical asian bread, Probably old bread still on the distal

  • Minghao Yan

Love Matcha Lava and Dirty Dirty. Haven’t got such delicious bread for a long time.
