My daughter Shatika Dionne Johnson passed away unexpectedly on March11, 2023 and her loss was devastating to our family. I had a specific funeral home in mind but my good friend Carolyn told me about Ms. Mary Kay and her team at Signature Memorial Chapel. We scheduled a consultation and selected SMC to handle Shatika’s services and repast. They did a beautiful job in prepping her body and making sure we were pleased with everything, she looked natural and as if she was asleep, the day of the service was a long day going from one side of town to another and back again but the driver was prompt and handled our family as if it was his very own, the repast was set up and handled beautifully. The entire process from the beginning until now months after her burial Ms. Mary, Erica and the team at SMC have been professional, kind, compassionate and caring. I shared with Erica how Shatika would check on me nightly and it just blew me away when she called to check on me one night recently, it means so much and lets me know it’s not just about business for them it’s personal that they take care of the families God has sent their way. There was even a problem in obtaining the death certificate and Erica followed up frequently with updates, which is unusual in the times we’re living in, and it was ready much earlier than expected. I’m forever grateful to God for the team at SMC that one of our most challenging times in life they were there to take care of us and I will always recommend their services. May God continue to bless them as only He can.

Wow I read a lot of these reviews, but one stands out due to the fact that's its being repetitive over and over again. I see you said they took out body parts, did you see proof of it for yourself, I'm just asking. I understand how you feel, No matter what we got to stop putting our people down. Our people are actually starting to go to other races funeral home and burial sites. If the other race did the same thing we wouldn't fuss about it. We would just believe whatever they tell us. I'm not defending anyone here, sometimes we have to think about things. My experience with Signature Memorial was one of the best from the first day to the end. Everything was perfect for myself and my family satisfaction. The team went above and beyond their call of duty. I know I asked a million questions and they were all answered. The service for my brother was excellent, they had him looking good and his obituary was super nice. They made a nice video of my brother and family members as well. During one of the most difficult times in my life, Signature Memorial Chapel provided a service that was above and beyond our expectations. Our mother expired the morning of February 20, 2023. We contacted Ms. Mary, Funeral Director, at approximately 1:00 a.m. and within 30 minutes Mr. Anthony, Funeral Director, arrived to retrieve the remains. Ms. Mary and her staff was available to meet with the family the very same day to make arrangements for Saturday, February 26, 2023. We were greeted with love, care, and compassion as if we were family. Signature Memorial assisted us with contacting the cemetery to ensure we would not have any problems there as well. Mama looked BEAUTIFUL when we went for the first viewing. Communication was consist and clear from all parties involved in preparing for the funeral until the body was deposited. The services rendered by Signature Memorial Chapel were outstanding!! As a result of the services rendered, our family members (which are many) will be meeting with Signature Memorial Chapel to make arrangements for our own day of departure. We are extremely satisfied with the services rendered!!! DG-J

Before the Signature staff was the Signature staff, they were laying my loved ones to rest and we have never been disappointed. With that being said, Signature Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements for my grandmother, Mrs. Betty J. Gibson, this past February, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience at such a difficult time. They were attentive to our needs and honored our every request. They were patient when creating the Obituary and accepted our outside graphics for social media and the service. When we went for the family viewing, there was a large repast in the main chapel. There was never a moment where we felt slighted and we were given as much time as we needed with our loved one. The facility is warm and inviting, with a modern and lively design and decor. I HIGHLY recommend Signature Memorial Chapel, and of course we will be using their services in the future when the inevitable occurs.

My sister passed away on Sept 1, 2022, my uncle who is the pastor of Forest Lawn Baptist Church, told me to reach out to Signature Memorial Chapel, that was the best decision for such an unexpected sad time in our life. The director Ms.Mary was very attentive, patient and understanding, her and her staff were very upfront with what was expected, cost, and options, they let us know each step of the whole process as it happened. We got so many compliments on my sister's appearance, her make up was perfect and she kept her youthful look. The staff that worked the funeral were beyond professional and patient. We had the service at a church, but the funeral home was very nice, modern, clean and inviting, I can go on and on about our experience because I can't get over how much wewere put at ease in such a dark time. I highly recommend Signature Memorial Chapel for your funeral needs.

I do not know where to begin. My experience was beyond my expectations. The care, quick responses (no matter time) was phenomenal. They handled everything from the first phone call with care even during vacation. What I thought would be stressful turned into heavy weights lifted.They worked with my family and listened to our needs, and concerns. Let me add they prayed with us on our first visit. The staff was kind, caring and professional. At our weakest moments they were there to lift us up. It felt like dealing with family. The level of professionalism was off the roof/chain. Signature Memorial Service provided excellent services for my Baby Sister. One of the hardest things in life was to attend her funeral. Markel Gage was the youngest of us all and words can’t express the feelings, devastation, and emptiness. However, I know God will carry me and my entire family! The staff were professional, understanding, compassionate, courteous, kindhearted, and pay close attention to detail. My sister was beautiful and she looked like she was sleeping. Makeup was perfect! The chapel was beautiful and peaceful. There was an additional space for the repass. It was very convenient for the family. I just want to say that the way Signature memorial handled the services for my friend/brother Wesley Smith was nothing short of amazing. The way they were there for the family through every step of the process was God sent. Laying a loved one to rest is never easy but the service provided from Signature Memorial eased the stress of laying my brother to rest. During one of the hardest moments in my life I needed someone to guide me through all of the decision making that I could trust and depend on. God sent Mary, Erica and the entire Signature Memorial Chapel team to be that professional team for me. The integrity that they exemplified put me and my family at ease knowing that our Mom’s final arrangements were in great hands. On days when I could not think or function they came by to pick up the clothes for my Mom and called to make sure that we were okay. Losing a love one is never easy and having to make decisions for what you know is the final farewell is exceptionally difficult. From the time my dad and I stepped into SMC we knew we were in the right hands! The compassion SMC showed to us was above and beyond anything we ever expected from a funeral home. The all-inclusive pricing package offered more than what was quoted by other places for a lower price. The professionalism was top notch and my father, and I couldn't have been happier. Their motto is "you come in as a client and leave as family", and we definitely found a family with Erica, Anthony, Mr. Derrick and the rest of the SMC staff! On 8/12/2023 my family and I had to lay my grandmother, Patricia G to rest and Signature Memorial Chapel did the services for us. Signature Memorial walked us through this difficult process from beginning to end. I entrusted Signature Memorial with my brother after having a wonderful experience when they cared for my Cousin. The professionalism that was exhibited was none other than amazing.
