Totally honest review here. We Had Simon paint our colourbond roof, about 500m2 (house and garage). Price quoted was $6900 with 10 percent deposit to secure a spot. He won't come to give a quote in person, instead relies on Google earth and photos sent from the customer. Then blames the customer when he is overwhelmed by the job. On many occasions I told him it was a steep pitch and asked if he was confident in such a job. His reply was always "yes. I will harness up". He Called me the morning he was coming and asked if i could advance the money for the paint. To which I declined as he should of advised that earlier or charged a larger deposit to cover the paint costs. This was the first red flag.... First day on site there was equipment issues. The gurney was leaking bad. Second day he didn't have the extension for his spray gun which made spraying harder for him. My roof was a big job and steep pitch. He harnessed up and was safe at all times. They also don't show up on site until around 11am. Go with Simon if you want a fast, cheap job. If you want attention to detail go elsewhere. I had to fix a few things after Simon finished including patchy looking paint, over spray (lots of overspray on window sills and roller shutters), and needed to replace a clear polycarbonate panel that was over sprayed. I purchased a new one, Simon fitted, but next time it rained it leaked bad, so I had to re do it myself. He also got over spray all over a skylight which I had to clean off. I also paid him an additional $440 to spray rust converter on the zip screw heads, but I feel this was not done correctly due to being able to now see rust coming through the new paint in some spots. I got the feeling the job was rushed. To Simon's credit, he did come back to fix a few things. But that was around 4 months later and I had already fixed most issues. He is a hard worker but does lack attention to detail (which I pointed out to him). The business does have good potential if - he slows down, masks up to protect from overspray and just takes the times to get things right the first time. The job was simply to hard for these guys. They aren't roofers, simple wash and paint, but even that was too hard and not done right. Anyone that has given a 5 star review has clearly not gone up on their roof to check the work. This guy is used to doing a whole roof in a day (rushing it and cutting corners) taking the money and run! Low time, high profit jobs. MY REPLY TO HIS REPLY BELOW....... Be honest Simon. Would you like me to upload photos? I have proof of everything. So don't imply that I'm lying. Ouch, the spite in his words.... this guy can lie through his teeth with no shame. At no point did I threaten him with a review at all. At no time did I ask him to paint flashing facades. Frankly the facades would have been nicer if he simply did not touch them. Yes the job would have been easier with an elevated work platform (boom lift/cherry picker) but was simply not an option as neighbours could not allow access due to their multiple dogs in the yard. I actually thought his work was worthy of a 3 star review but that was lowered due to the lies.
Still waiting for rectification work which was promised for 18 May. This after another promise to redo it by 15 December last year. Edit. Simon I find it interesting that you chose to highlight how well you diarise rather than address the issue of poor workmanship. You state that you attended on those two dates, however, you may remember that one of them you texted me that you were in hospital with an infection, (or that may have been the time you texted me that you were at the hospital because your dog bit your girlfriend), and the other time your girlfriend called to say you weren't well. I'm not sure whether either of those dates had an excuse attached as I was so used to you just not turning up. So perhaps you actually need to also note whether you attended an appointment rather than just booked it in. According to my diary, I've been going overseas every August, which hasn't actually happened, but my diary says it did. When I finally got someone else to look at the gutters, many of the lengths were flat. As we know, water won't flow to a downpipe if it's not encouraged by a drop in level towards the downpipe. The fact that you never discovered that says everything about your workmanship. Simon I waited until we no longer lived at the address because I didn't trust that you wouldn't take matters into your own hands.
Avoid this guy at all cost. These guys do not know how to repair roof. They are simply washing and painting service. We paid a premium price for our roof repair and paint back in December 2022. It turns out the service is not as good as advertised! Simon and his friend (2 people) finished the job in 1.5 days. Then after a few rain pours, the leaks started again. We called and asked Simon to come back to assess and repair. He came back 4 weeks later after few excuses for not showing up twice. Anyways, he did come back at around 6.30pm. We were not sure how could he find any leaks at the time due to sunlight. He then asked us where was the leak and started to move a few tiles. And that's all he left for that day. Guess what...the leaks are still there. So please avoid!!! I have the proof of your service such as invoice, quote so dont say you dont know me Simon!
Simon took my deposit and progress payment total of $2600 and did not complete work to my roof. Left the roof with no pointing and vulnerable to weather. Had to get another company to fix what he did at twice the cost. I have since found out Simon has ripped off multiple clients. You have been warned I am adding to this to respond to Simons response below- his offer of refund was just another tactic. He had ample opportunity to come up with the money. It did not happen. Simon. Please take me to court, I have a screenshot of every communication you have sent.
We had an insurance claim going through due to storm damage from earlier in the year so we needed some maintenance done on our roof. Simon came and fixed those issues we had! No more leaks and to top it off we now have a fixed, cleaned, primed and new coloured roof which will last for many years to come! Great job done by Simon who worked his butt off to get the job done against the odds with all the bad weather we have had lately. Thanks so much Simon.
Simon and his offsider completed repairs to our roof including, replacing tiles, pointing and colour/sealing spray. He completed the job with a high degree of care and skill. He was a good communicator prior to commencing works and works could not be faulted. Simon saved us from a previous dodgy contractors works and are very thankful and cannot recommend this business highly enough.
Definately recommend Simon if you're after a roof restoration. Excellent service great communication and very fast to come out and do the job. Didn't take short cuts and did a top notch job. There's a few companies out there who are so hard to contact and are a bit dodgy don't waste your time with them just call Simon.
I was hesitant to find someone to help me with my gutters, but a friend recommended Simon and I was impressed with how much a difference it has made, and for these prices, it's kind of embarrassing I didn't get him onto the job sooner.
Simon did a delightful job carefully restoring my ageing tiled roof, pointing nice and straight and left some spare painted tiles to match. Hasn’t leaked in 3 months. He communicates well and often 5 stars thank you Simon.
Simon cleaned our 40 solar panels quickly efficiently and for good value. He was careful to avoid the sitting peahen and also cleaned a blocked gutter & downpipe for no added cost. Thank you Simon we will call you again
