We recently visited the Indianapolis Zoo and at the start of our visit, we were able to see Rocky, the orangutan, climb from a small building to the much larger one, using overhead cables. It was very neat to watch this and not something we anticipated seeing. We will be back and can't wait to see Rocky again!
Our granddaughters loved this place!! They couldn't believe that he wanted to see the security guards arm.. to see her tatoos. My son, held out his arm and the big guy just looked up & down my sons arms at the tattoos. Then, he saw my wrist one and pointed to it, i showed him. Im in awe
A thoughtfully designed, well-executed piece of architecture that has forever altered the Indy skyline. It's one thing to make an enclosure, it is quite another to build a house for education and conservation that is also home to some wonderful primates.
Very cool zoo with interactive animals. The tiger posed for a picture and the walrus stared at us through the glass. The layout is very well planned so it doesn't exhaust you walking through. The orangutan house is very unique and was a
The orangutan seem comfortable and they have plenty of places to go if they want to be alone. I think that is what's most important. They like to show off for young kids sometimes which keeps visitors entertained. Love visiting.
We enjoyed Santa's Village and the tunnel of lights. We bought cookies to decorate in Mrs. Claus' kitchen and took pictures inside the reindeer barn. If you get there before dark you can catch the seal demostration.
Amazing state of the art facility! Great learning experience for all ages. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff available to answer questions and offer information. NEVER a dull moment. A MUST SEE for ALL ages!!
Wow oh wow this is one of the best additions the Zoo has made in years. The orangutans are worth a visit. They are so playful wow. And the center is expertly done; there is lots of good reading content.
It was exciting watching the babies play while the adults get settled down for a nap. Orangutans are very intelligent and the caretakers provided alot of information about their care
We had a membership, and that is definitely worth it. Zoo is small, and everything is closed in the winter (understandably). The butterfly exhibit is pretty cool too.
The viewing exhibit is excellent. There are many angles to see the orangutans. You can also see them climbing inside and outside. Great exhibit Indy Zoo!
If you get the chance to experience the orangutans learning and interaction with the staff. It is a great and educational show especially for the kids.
They were all sleeping, and it's hard to imagine how well this big space can be used. Still, it was a neat building with friendly staff inside.
Awesome! They were all out and close to hlass... the baby thinks he is a clown, kept "falling" off of things to get a reaction from the kids :)
My kid's absolutely love the zoo. We went on a warm winter day and the lions, cheetahs, and bears we're very active compared to summer months.
Amazing opportunity to watch young orangutan at play with her Mom on Mother's day. Zoo guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. Loved it!
Exhibit designed for the orangutans to be able to select where they want to spend time. Exciting to see the animals up close!
The orangutans are very playful and are able to come right up to the glass, with plenty of room to move around and interact.
Its great how we can watch the Orang Utans and how they can watch us . They seem to like watching us , to …
Sing orangutan exhibit was awesome. The animals seem happier than I've seen them in the last few years.
Very educational, very nice building, very helpful staff. Clean ect... Will be going back very soon.
That was amazing! Watching the orangutans play on the computer was awesome! Definitely a must see!
Dolphin show was great wish it was a little bit longer but overall it was pretty good
The most intimate experience at the Indianapolis Zoo, an already inviting location.
They were very active today and exhibit was cleaner than I seen in a long time
Great visual access to the orangutans, from the three year old to the old man

We love going to the zoo. They have holiday themes through out the year.
I work here and the zoo keepers take really good care of the orangutans.
Great experience, great exhibits, and easy to find your way around.
It was really fun to see the orangutans and read all about them.
Loved it! Amazing state of the art facility. Great experience.
Beautifully decorated, and magical for old and young at heart!
