I moved from Toronto last year and had resigned myself to mediocre Chinese food in the vicinity after a trying a few in Barrhaven and Manotick. Then I discovered Sing Hing, and haven't looked back. Between myself and my extended family, we order from there often. It's consistently good. Then I noticed a small sign in the window that said "Dim Sum: Friday-Sunday, 11:3--2:30". We tried it, and I was amazed. It was better than Yangtze in Chinatown, Mandarin Ogilvie (not a chain), etc. We've been back almost weekly. There's never many people there for dim sum, so I've begged them to promote this more, put it on their website, as I'm worried they'll stop serving it if there's not enough traction! Best bets: the eggplant stuffed with shrimp in black bean sauce is divine, the soup dumplings are excellent (my son will happily eat 6 in a sitting), the fried shrimp balls, the siu mai. They're quite nice people, too. Only once have we had an error on an order and they corrected and removed from bill as well. The eat-in ambiance isn't great, as is the case with any in the area. But it doesn't matter at lunch time for Dim Sum when it's bright outside.

Second time visiting and it didn’t disappoint! Plenty of menu options for any palate, and generous portions. Fresh ingredients and a variety of presentations and texture make your dining experience an adventure. Efficient and simple service greets you with an attitude that aims to please, regardless of one’s comfort level with knowledge of Chinese cuisine. While there is no music, but clean environment and genuine decor (including large tables with lazy Susan’s) and plenty of free parking makes this a go-to restaurant in my books. As a visiting family member who is from out of town said today, it is wonderful to eat at such a real Chinese restaurant again! 谢谢

Went for Dim Sum (available only Fridays to Sunday). Was very disappointed with the portion sizes considering the high price charged. They charged us for tea we didn't ask for and charged by person even though it's served in a pot. Food tasted good. But some appeared store bought and just reheated (Sui-mai, bbq pork buns). Over all priced high for an asian restaurant compared to other Asian restaurants I've went to. Good friendly service. Since it's the only convenient Asian restaurant in the neighbourhood and they take advantage of that.

Awful, simply awful. Their beef brisket is random trimoff(of tendon and other tissues and stuff) that are treated as garbage in other restaurants. Sure, they’re edible but they are NOT beef brisket! I normally do not write reviews but this behavior truly disgusted me. The noodles and bean sprouts in our 干炒牛河 had already gone bad and turned sour. Must be many days old. Again, GARBAGE for any decent restaurants. Do not get tricked by the nice pictures they post. From other reviews they seem to make okay takeout staple dishes. But since I spotted them cutting a corner, I don’t believe they do it in only the less frequently ordered dishes I had. You may get fresh ingredients if you are lucky, or you just cannot tell.

Did a full twelve course wedding menu, rented out the restaurant to celebrate my daughters hundred days. Food was delicious, it came out very hot and service was more than amazing and accommodating to my group, pricing was also very good. We were so happy with the space we had to use.

It’s my first time at this restaurant located in riverside south and it’s simply amazing. Never expect a Chinese at a suburb that offers traditional Chinese dishes. The bbq duck was crispy/ juicy and tender and the clay pot rice is the best thing I ever had in Ottawa as they are probably the only restaurant that offers it. It’ll be a regular spot for me from now on.

Nice authentic Chinese restaurant in Riverside South. There are authentic Chinese dishes on the menu, just ask the staff for help or for recommendations if you do not read Chinese. We had visitors from Toronto and they were pleasantly surprised by the flavour and the price of our meal. We were a group of 12 and the only ones in the restaurant at the time. Service was pretty quick and friendly. We have eaten here half a dozen times and the food consistent. They also do quite a bit of business as take out orders.

Food is decent, but they forgot half our order. Nightmare to call the restaurant and get anyone on the phone, and when I did, I was given a snotty attitude and told they had other customers to deal with. It's 2018, what business pickups up the phone, then slams it on the counter before telling you to "WAIT", and then lets you listen to them ring up other customers at a till before they speak with you?? Better still, what business gives you a busy signal 5/6 times you call in 2018? Never ordering here again.

It has pretty decent Chinese food with reasonable price and portion. We enjoyed eating here and the restaurant is much cleaner than most Chinese restaurants in town. The only setback was the wait time, we waited for a while before getting our food on the table. There was only one server and possibly not enough staffs in the kitchen. It's a place that I would go again or order take outs. From what I see in the reviews here, take-out is probably a lot faster than dining in.

I'm not kidding when I say that the food at this restaurant is much much better than the food you will find in the rest of riverside south. Not only is the food good but it's very well priced and you get very good service as well. If you enjoy oriental food then this restaurant is a great place to dine at. Also if you go to the highschool across the street you can call the place in the morning to make an order so that when your on your lunch you can pick it up

Their food taste really good, kinda disappointed with my order last night, the buddha's delight veggies I ordered, the veggies are so big they did not even think cutting it, It's huge! and the pork chop pepper and salt, most of them either they're all small pieces and most of them had a bone in it. I feel like I'm ripped off. I don't mind paying extra, but men! trying to ripped you off! Very disappointing!

fair priced and authentic Cantonese cuisine. We moved to the community a few years ago but never tried the restaurant until recently, now we keep going a few times every month. It's interesting to find out that many people like to get take outs...no wonder why the place looks kinda empty sometimes... only to point out that sometimes dine in needs some waiting time depends on how busy they are.

Went to Sing Hing Chinese restaurant on Dec11 for dinner, we ordered : 黃旗班三吃 (湯, 炒球及紅燒） 海蜇手撕走地雞一隻 百花皇蒸釀玉子豆腐 釀魚肚,上素南乳炆冬瓜 + more etc.. food are not bad, just the dishes size are too small, maybe I am too hungry and not go to din in in Chinese restaurant been long time! .

Their price is a bit cheaper than the other Chinese restaurant. We got 2 combination 5, which comes with fried rice, chicken balls, general Tao, and egg roll. The fried rice is mediocre, but the others are pretty good. Our food was ready within 10 minutes and they're still hot when we got home. Will come back again to try different food.

Just got my order and this is what Fried Noodles with Beans Sprout in Soya Sauce looks like. Where are the been sprouts?!? This is the second time I order where the the dish is not what it should be. Last order they substituted cashews for almonds. Has the restaurant changed ownership? Guess will start ordering from elsewhere.

General TSO's Chicken Fried Rice

The Steam Rice in Casserole 煲仔飯 was REALLY GOOD. They have many varieties, and the cured meat option that we tried actually had cured duck meat in it and tasted fantastic. Looking forward to try their dim sum next time.

This is our fifth visit, but this time it was disappointing. I think the cook has changed. Very salty. BBQ pork not fresh and tasteless. Hot and sour soup ok but also somewhat tasteless. Yu xiang qiezi ok however salty like crazy. All three of us complained of thirst and headaches.

Consistent food quality. Sauces are flavorful, and prices are good. I enjoy the variety in the combo deals, and the prep time is extremely quick... orders often ready in 15 minutes. Egg rolls are great. Chinese food options near Greely aren't great, so I venture here as my go to.

Foods quantities n qualities are but miss desert. Especially the steaming chicken ... chicken meat soft n juicy. Prices are reasonable.

Great spring rolls. Quality food for sure! My one piece of advice to the owners: play some nice dinner music in the restaurant. I only ever take out, but from the times that I have been in there waiting, the atmosphere is lacking and you can hear everyone’s conversation.

I called to get a delivery order, the lady was really nice until she asked where I live. I live in Greely, which is really not that far. She then told me the guy wasn't there, he's "somewhere else" she said. She could have simply said they don't deliver to Greely...

This is the last time my family will order from here. It's ridiculous that they can just give you expired food as if it were fresh. The fried fish had a weird chemical smell and the corn sauce tasted sour. I think it's time the health inspectors take another look.

Ordered delivery. Nothing tasted fresh or clean, it tasted almost "muddy" and "goopy." It lacked a lot of flavour. Could only eat so much before it just wasn't worth it. Nowhere near as good as other places in the area and about the same price. Won't order again.

We've been here for several large family meals (20+ people). They've always been extremely accommodating with extra bowls, plates and cutlery for the kids and any latecomers. Food is excellent as well, the duck wraps and roast pig are always big hits!

One word, terrible...rice dish so dry could barley eat, ribs, well if you like fat...the rest, lack of sauce and or ingredients..will never go there again. Heard it was very good so thought I would try it, nope experiment big fail.

Deplorable service. Stay well away! Ordered take out on a rainy night. Arrived home to discover that my older was completely wrong. They had zero explanation and no apology whatsoever. Lesson learned.

We drive here from Barrhaven even though there are closer, similar restaurants, we find Sing Hing Restaurant the best. We always end up having a great dinner with flavor and high quality ingredients.

Service is very fast. The food is tasty and they also have a Thai menu. The spice is not always consistent but the taste is always good! Their lunch menu is very affordable and the portions are big.

I have moved to the Riverside South area recently and came across Sing Hing. I have visited 6x and food is consistently very good. Don't have to drive to far to satisfy my MooShu Chicken cravings.

Terrible quality and service. Hour and ten minutes wait time for a simple order and the food was burned and contained hair. Absolutely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
