"Worth doing if you're already in the area"
"Great to see so much of Dublin (if you get lucky with weather obviously) with some of the names of places written on the glass You've let into the tower and can exit when you see fit, so no time restraints if you want to see as much as possible and/or take loads of pictures/videos Unfortunately the lift doesn't work, so you have to manually climb 16 sets of steps, then no cooling or even water vending machine at the top (obviously not a problem in winter) Loud music played takes away from the experience, especially if you're talking videos of the view, I would rather have no music and vents to hear the sounds of Dublin (again weather permitting) Overall for 5 euro it's worth seeing

"I highly recommend ascending to the top of the Smithfield Chimney from 1895 (the "SkyView Tower")"
"Brilliant! We normally walk up cathedral towers to get the highest view point, but as they're not open in Dublin at the present time, this was excellent! Can't recommend this enough - 100%"
"To była spontaniczna decyzja"
Worth doing if you're already in the area. You get a great view of Christchurch Cathedral, the Guinness complex and the north inner city. It won't take more than 15-30 minutes, even if there's a queue for tickets. The lifts have been permanently deactivated, so it takes 260 steps to get up to the top. An unexpected twist was the lingering smell of pigeon excrement at the top - the viewing platform was closed for a few years and the birds made themselves at home. To get in, you simply ask for tickets from the fun, welcoming and pro-active reception team at the Generator Hostel which adjoins the chimney. They cost €5 and get you a 20% discount at the hostel bar afterwards. That the hostel keeps the chimney open deserves some praise.

I highly recommend ascending to the top of the Smithfield Chimney from 1895 (the "SkyView Tower"). Gain access to climb the 259 steps up a spiral stairway from the Generator hostel for 5 Euro. The top viewing platform is 52m (170ft) above ground. Lush views over Dublin. I prefer this to the Gravity Bar view of the Guinness Storehouse. Noteworthy landmarks and areas of greater Dublin are marked on the glass. There are two levels of the viewing platform. Well worth the 5 Euro. Absolutely grand! Do it! *****

Brilliant! We normally walk up cathedral towers to get the highest view point, but as they're not open in Dublin at the present time, this was excellent! Can't recommend this enough - 100%. The 360 view was fantastic on two levels. With your ticket you also get 20% off any purchase in the Generator (food and drink), both were excellent and under budget for Dublin prices. May I recommend the Irish breakfast, so good we came back the next day to have again!

Wow amazing experience!!!. Long walk up but worth every step when seeing views from the top. Were discussing that this is probably one of the best views and one of the highest ones. Would be nice to have a barista there and beanbags..fantastic unusal views. Was at night and loved it. 5 euros full price or 4 euros if you download their app. Recommended

Found this spot as we were wandering around Dublin, so cool and only 5€ to walk up in it! The 360 degree views were beautiful and it was cool seeing the gardens/yards on the tops of some of the buildings nearby.

Very humid and warm at the top. No ventilation on a warm sunny hot day, climbing almost 250+ steps, we were expecting some sort of fresh/cold air at the top. They should really look into this to make the experience better. Don't feel like staying long and experience the views because of the heat.
Good place nice view. I prefer view from Guinness factory it is better. There is no elevator and there are 200 steps so be prepared for that. Ticket is only 5 euro and can be purchased from generator hostel. This is open till 10 so a good spot to have 360 degree view of dublin …
It’s €5 for a ticket but it’s also 16 flights of stairs so go on your own risk. The view is great and worth it but it’s also very hard to go up the stairs and it’s very humid and hot up there but you can for as long as you want. Definitely visit on a sunny day for great views of Dublin
I visited the tower as part my tourism course. it was a 5€ to get in and you could be at the top as long as you want. there is 16 floors and about 200+ steps. But the few is worth it.

Wieża ma w sumie do pokonania 400 schodów. Winda nie działa. Taras widokowy obudowany szybą. Niestety na górze śmierdzi nie wiem czym. Odchodami zwierzęcymi prawdopodobnie.

Really cool hidden gem in Smithfield. You have to buzz into the hostel to get tickets and it's only 5 euro. A good few steps but the views are worth it. They're only letting groups one at a time atm so you're in luck if you want a private tower lol.

It's worth paying just 5 euros for a panoramic view of the city. The 200-odd stairs are the exercise of the day.

AMAZING - the best view in Dublin for only €5! You do have to climb the 259 steps, but it is well worth it. Would LOVE to attend an evening event here for sure. 360° and all of it very beautiful!
Nice view of Dublin in 360°. I recomand to go there during the daytime but also in the night. Is fantastic.

Buy tickets at the Generator, €5. 259 steps to climb up. There is a lower and upper level platform at the top. All enclosed in glass so not cold. Great views over Dublin.
Get your tickets at the hostel next door then climb up to beautiful views of Dublin. We were the only ones there so could be as loud and goofy as we wanted;)
The tower has nice view. But the inside should be cleaned more often.

Amazing view!! Higher than the gravity bar at Guiness store house. Costs: 5€ but absolutely worth it! You pay at the hotel next to it.
Infelizmente o elevador estava inoperante.

Den bästa utsiktsplatsen som Dublin har. Bättre än tornet på Guinness. Ingen hiss.
249 stairs.... Felt like 2000. But oh my what a view! Well worth the effort. Even better when the sun is shining. Do it!
Please get the elevator working so that disabled, seniors and young children can go up but besides that it was very fun
Good panorama views on Dublin
