Tasty food, but didn’t get quite what I wanted. I was craving a cheeseburger with tangy pickle and this new diner looked interesting, so I ordered the deluxe cheeseburger instead of the regular, which is $1 more. When my order came they forgot my drink, so I had to go back and wait to request it. When I started eating my burger, it didn’t have the pickles that were the part I really wanted. It was a perfectly fine burger, but more bland than I was expecting. The guy giving out orders wasn’t too friendly when I’d returned for my drink, he turned around to yell at the people taking orders and getting the drinks without saying anything to me. I wasn’t in the mood to go back a second time to get my order corrected. I figured they had probably run out of pickles. They have a glass wall looking in go the prep area, and on my way out I saw there was a bin full. I could’ve saved a dollar ordering the normal cheeseburger instead. Most of the inside tables are set up as groups of four, two seats in one side and a booth on the other, so most were taken up by single people, with groups waiting for tables to be free. Some tables for two would be good. The ice looks like packing peanuts. The chips are ultra slim cut crispy fries, and they are excellent if you are into shoestring fries, which I am. They look like they’re freshly cut in store. It would be nice if the menu gave an indication of what the special sauces are - I tried drive in sauce and Slim’s Spread, tasty but no idea what they were meant to be. It was fine, but I could spend $10 less for a cheeseburger, chips, and a coke at Maccas where they will probably forget part of my meal as well but will at least say sorry when I ask about my drink.

Have been going past many times while I visited other restaurants in the dining precinct, thought I’d give it a try especially they are having the limited edition truffle menu. The truffle bacon combo consisted of a Truffle Bacon Double Burger, Parmesan Truffle Fries and a choice of Thickshake. The umami loaded burger was fantastic. The smoked maple bacon along with grilled mushrooms, onions, melted Swiss cheese and truffle mayo made the most craveable burger. However the thin beef patties were very dry. They lost all the moisture during the cook. I’m not a big fan of their hand cut fries either, not crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside type. They were soft and lukewarm. They were probably been sitting around for a while before my number was called out. I opted the Coffee Thickshake, it was nice and creamy but the coffee taste was rather weak. Overall it’s a decent burger joint but do I travel all the way to Marrickville Metro just for their burgers while they are so many options in the dining precinct? No.

Slims Quality Burgers located in Marrickville Metro, is reminiscent of a 1950’s Milk Bar concept, but also feels modernised with its decor and branding. They serve up simple and tasty burgers, as well as fries, milkshakes and sundaes. Even better, all menu items are under $10. You can order via the front counter or your app, and food is pretty much ready in 5-10 mins. Food is served up on diner style trays, and burgers are wrapped in little paper bags for convenience and saving you from messy sauce drips. There’s a good range of burgers from cheeseburgers to chicken and even veggie burgers. We try one of each as well as the works burger. The works burger is beef, grilled onion, maple-smoked bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and special sauce. They are small, so if you’re hungry, we’d recommend ordering two. The hand cut fries are thin and slightly crispy, and you can get these plain, topped with cheese or the lot (onion and sauce). If you’re keen for dessert, there’s soft serve, topped with hot fudge, cookie crumble, or even whipped cream. Grab a soda fountain drink and you’re set.

Just another disappointing burger restaurant. As usual the burgers look big and tasty when you see them on the menu. And as usual the burgers are small and disappointing when you have them in fron of you. Similarities between advertised product and actual product exist, but it requires quite a bit of good will and creativity to see them. Also the size of the burgers has to be described as "joke". I don't need much to be full, but having one of those leaves me hungry. Charging $11.50 for probably the smallest burger I've ever had in my life is a bold statement. Of course you can add fries to satisfy your hunger but paying $6.50 for a medium sized portion (of course called "large") doesn't feel right. In general, the food tastes good enough that I would eat there again if there weren't any other options, but the value is just really bad and there are other places with better food for less money.

The way to go to a five star experience for us would be - a char grilled burger option - a pickles option 'bar' or tray near the sauce area, or as an option to add to your order. - a salad bar option -wider alternates to ice cream and fizzy drinks for drinks and sweets. - a few things for children to be entertained, such as a page to colour and pencils obviously available, or a page with a story on it near the menu pages and order area.

Wow.. $8 for a combo upgrade for mediocre burnt lukewarm chips and halfacup of iced soft drink (large) - pretty pricey, next time BYO one yourself. Not really exciting for the combo. We ordered the OG Slim's Grilled Chicken burger and the Crispy Chicken Club Burger. The bun was super tasty and soft and tender, and the veges and tomato were fresh, but unfortunately the Crispy Chicken was a bit salty. The staff was a bit slow and took their time servicing until the guy in the white top jumped in and made the service much more efficient, if only he was here when we ordered the food. One Uber driver wasn't even wearing a mask while waiting for delivery food. And staff weren't even bothered to warn him to put a mask on either. He was pacing up and down the walk away and inbetween tables whilst talking on the phone. Wonder if he's vaccinated?!

This was a hard one to review, maybe my expectations where too high for a new burger joint. The service/ staff and seating where fantastic. The burgers not so much. Firstly I was expecting something different, there are pickles on everything even cheese burgers which I had, the burger meat was no different to that of hungry jacks. The portion size was good unlike the tiny cheese burgers at McDonald's. The only differentiator was the fresh chips which need a little work as they where really soggy but still better than frozen. I was disappointed that they do the same tricks as the other chain burger places with sugary buns and heavy on the salt. I can see room for improvement here with some issues being easily resolved since they have a great foundation, I will be back to try a different burger and wish them the best for 2022

Really tasty food and really well priced! You can get a fantastic thick shake, a really satisfying loaded fries as well as a fresh made right in front of you burger for half of what you'd probably get down at the pub and it tastes twice as good! The menu is pretty simple when you get down to it, but that's really all you need for a great burger! Location is really convenient as well so it's a spot where you can stop and quickly grab something to eat and go. Everyone I was there with absolutely enjoyed it and we actually cannot wait to go again as a group, that decades old aesthetic really goes well with the food!

$21 for The Works combo - bacon cheese loaded fries, milkshake of your choice a The Works burger (patty, cheese, sauces, salads) + <$10 for the fried chicken burger. It's a nicer Maccas. The buns taste the same as McD, the fries are definitely superior with the skins kept on. The loaded part of the loaded fries are fine. Most burgers are slightly less or around the $10 which you don't see often, and tomato sauce is free. Decor is nice enough, they tend to be busy so the cleanliness of the tables are subject to whether the occupant before cleaned up after themselves. I was going to give it 4 stars, but there aren't many places out there that attempt to cater to the budget segment. It delivers well on what it wants to do.

Bloody phenomenal 10/10! Slim’s Burger is the real deal. All the ingredients are fresh, nothing frozen and that’s reflected in the taste. Burgers are a good size without being overwhelming large. The single bacon is outstanding, and the house sauce reminded me of In ‘n’ Out Burger. Chips are cut onsite, again super tasty. The loaded version is a winner. Can’t wait to go again and sample more of the menu. Staff is friendly and efficient. Design is very American style diner which is cool. Comfortable seating both indoor and outside. Great American diner style decor. The burgers were realy nice, clean and well constructed. The prices are good value. Hand cut fries were a fraction overcooked and crispy my first visit but perfect on the second. Their burger sauce 'drive in sauce' is nice and subtle, not too overpowering. The burgers are the flattened out sryle, which whilst are nice is not my preferred style and can't be cooked 'medium' the way a good burger should be, IMO. The flattened burger style is my reason for deducting a star, I'd give 4.5 if I could but can't give them 5. Their burger style is similar to Betty's Burgers but I'd rate this place ahead of them on quality and price. Definitely worth a visit.

Dropped in here for dinner on a Wednesday night, the place was moderately busy, but all the dining area was clean and welcoming. Menu consists of a variety of tasty burgers and sides. Really great dining experience for our little family. Highlight was definitely the ice-cream sundaes, so delicious. Chicken burgers were super fresh and tender but the size difference of the chicken on the crispy chicken burger was much bigger when compared to the grilled chicken burger. Fries were super fresh and well seasoned but we were a bit disappointed with the “loaded” fries - they barely had any additional topping (which turned out to be fine, but when you order “loaded” fries you just expect more topping).

Always delicious!!! Slims @ Marrickville Metro is still one of my favourite burger spots in Sydney. Juice burgers, awesome fries and great service!

I regret not checking the reviews before eating here. I was impressed with the retro interior but that was the only good thing about this place. Ordered a cheeseburger regular combo but they charged me for the large. The burger is the size of a McDonald’s burger with a razor thin patty and excessive amount of ketchup. Onion were nice but the ketchup was over powering. Cheese wasn’t melted either. The hand cut chips look great but were cold and soft.

New Burger Cafe in original Metro, which is being upgraded. Great 50s/60s style furnishings and fittings with open kitchen and servers located in centre of space and tables opposite as well as outdoor seating on balcony overlooking Skidmore St development. Friendly service by young team, great menu, nice vibe. Burgers put together well, delicious, nice chips. Really enjoyed the whole experience.

A simple and classic burger - nom! Never been a big fan of brioche buns, hence happy with a plain burger bun with a good patty. I also felt less guilty because there’s a decent amount of lettuce and tomato on the inside. The only thing I would’ve pref is the salad and buns to be at room temp. This would have made it even better. The chips were fantastic; crunchy and not soo oily. Friendly service was a bonus!

The loaded fries were delicious and the caramelised onions were great. Place was very covid safe and great to see the staff all masked up and wiping down tables and chairs. They just opened after to Covid lockdown and hired tons of motivated young staff that were super friendly taking our order. Absolutely recommend. Totally worthy!

In-N-Out and Shake Shack had a baby! Delicious ice cream thick shakes, amazing burgers and quick efficient service. Love the fact that they call your name over an old school microphone when your order is ready. We had the Slims Original Cheeseburger and the Slims Original Crispy Chicken Burger. My only feedback is all the menu names sound the same which makes it confusing when ordering as a group.

Delicious burger with excellent service .. both classic and crispy chicken have been tasted. Both are delicious with hot sauce added to kelp it spicy. Try the fries too they are good and different too ..

Great burgers and excellent customer service. I really like their fries and the transparent back kitchen. You know nothing dodgy is going on! The burgers are also freshly made using raw ingredients, none of mass produced stuff that is simply reheated like in most fast food chains. Support a local business that is doing things right and honest, and that employs locals and gives them a fair wage.

A really nice burger joint in the shopping centre. They have both indoor and outdoor seats. We got deluxe cheesburger, slim's original, fries and coke. The service was a bit slow due to lunch time rush but food was actually pretty good. Very nice real potato fries, affordable pricing. I enjoyed outdoor table and happy to recommend this place.

Terrible quality of food and bad experience. The deluxe cheeseburger gave me crippling food poisoning and diarrhoea, and it didn't even taste good >:-( The loaded fries cheese sauce was cold and the toilets were absolutely disgusting. I found a half eaten burger and a massive dump in one toilet. Slims quality burgers not so quality i think i caught hepatitis from the food.

Slim’s in Marrickville Metro is a great American style diner offering quality burgers with a delicious secret sauce. The open glazed kitchen allows you to observe the cooking process from up close. Unfortunately I found the French fries way overcooked and dry. Otherwise it would have been a 5/5.

Wow! An awesome burger place with a modern retro vibe. The hand cut fries are crisp and salty, just the way I like them. I had the works burger which was super fresh and tasty and the chocolate thick shake was the best I’ve ever had. Prices are really reasonable too. This will definitely become my regular burger place! Can’t wait to try other things on the menu!!

The way they do it, is worth making note of, chips cut and fried in front of my eyes, burgers with seriously quality ingredients, smoothies with real milk… the only negative is it’s too cheap, put the prices up! The team at Slim’s Marrickville catered our business function for 100 people so seamlessly that I wish I could give them 10 stars. The communication, team work and quality of the food was exceptional. Would highly recommend them for event catering! Thank you Victor and Miranda :)

If your thing is American style burgers, then this affordable and fast, freshly made burgers is your new go to. We tried the deluxe cheeseburger, Slim's original and Crispy Chicken and Cheese. The crispy chicken came out really hot, so you know they are frying it fresh. Portion sizes also good for the price point.

Has been a very long time since I had a burger like this. The quality in the ingredients is evident in the taste. My problem was you can’t stop at one add to that hand cut chips to order… worth the wait. Good value, great quality. Can’t wait for more stores. Definitely a burger and fries worth travelling for

Awesome burgers but need to learn the beautiful basics of service. A 20 minute wait when swinging in just to get some fries, and an 8 minute wait on another occasion just stopping in for a coke. They just don’t seem to run smoothly. Back to Betty’s

Very very overpriced Response to owner I didn’t even bother trying it. When I saw how tiny my $17.50 burger was and that the tiny piece of bacon only covered about 1/5 of the patty I took it back to the counter and got a refund. I’m a chef man, I understand food costs but you guys are taking the piss.

Great American burgers, plenty of seating although the customer turn over is fast no one hangs around like they do in cafes. Price is high but worth it as a treat. Staff are very friendly and efficient this review is consistent from about 8 visits.

Awesome burger place. Both the chicken and beef burgers are full of flavour and fresh. The chips are real potato so they are different to the common frozen chips you buy everywhere else. The ketchup is self service! Closest to a US burger joint so far.

5/5 beef burger but a 1/5 grill chicken burger. The grilled chicken burger is severely burnt, and I saw at least another customer getting the same. The beef burger was cheesy and juicy, flavourful. Would recommend to stick to the beef. Chips is ok, not the crispy type but not greasy.

The burgers here are delicious and taste super fresh. The chips were mid. The dining area is nice and always clean. Great value for the food. Will definitely return again to try the other menu items!

The Slim Double is a Great tasting high quality burger with yummy burger meat, cheese and fresh lettuce tomato onion and sauce, the Large Coke is yummy as well and would 100% recommended it.

Great quality burgers at a very affordable price! The chips are nice, thin and crispy. Service is friendly and super quick - thanks Sofia! The decor has a nostalgic, American diner charm. Nice spot to scratch that burger itch, and will definitely be back for more.

Place looked exciting but wasn’t blown away. It’s got nothing on loaded by BL or Mary’s. Ordered deluxe cheese burger with the cheese fries. Burger was average cheese burger nothing special. Fries were overrated portion was small for $7. Milkshake was best thing.

Unbelievably good burgers! They have a special truffle burger only available for the rest of August - but their other burgers are just as delicious! They have lots of combo deals at affordable prices so I’d highly recommend for a casual and quick feed.

Visited first day (soft launch) and aside from the milkshake churner giving them some issues everything ticked boxes. But what they've achieved at the price point they're offering is ridiculous and I'm keen to see how they grow nationally! Will be back

Truly awesome California style burgers!! Fries are incredible, both crispy and fluffy, and smashed pattie burger rivals the best in n out and shake shack offerings in the states. Chicken burger and shakes were also good. Will definitely be coming back!

Disappointed! Tasteless burgers ever! Soggy burgers, The burger and bun size ratio is ridiculous. Some of the meat was undercooked some of them raw!

Presentation is not the best but the value wasn’t bad if you eat the savers range. The $27 meal with loaded fries was not worth it though. Highly recommend the cheeseburger.
