Hey SmartStop Corporate - I'm in unit 2100 - please have somebody that can make decisions call me :) My unit was broken into along with FIVE OTHER units (that I know of) over a couple of separate days a week ago. The thieves used a tenants code and brought in an angle grinder that cut through the $14 lock I paid for from SmartStop. When the police came out the officer recognized the employee and said "We've worked on some of these together before, right?" and the employee acknowledged that they did. The employees are withholding information from me and stating we need to talk to the police about anything/everything. They won't even watch the security footage and tell me how many boxes were taken because they loaded up a cart at my unit, this is all affecting me being able to file an insurance claim as well as causing me additional stress and I am an innocent victim of a crime committed under their eye! I didn't ask for any of this and I didn't do anything wrong! I am a single mom in a wheelchair and need to get my remaining items out of my storage. I need to hire somebody to do it because I can't physically do it myself. They have locked me out of my storage because I'm refusing to make a payment for this month since my things were trashed and stolen and now I have additional expenses to get my things out of there. I have upheld my end of the agreement and these are extenuating circumstances. I have attempted to reach out to somebody higher up than the site manager that clearly doesn't have the authority to make any decisions and was told that I can't have a phone number for anyone above him but I could send an e-mail to him for him to forward on. I did that and he called and said he got the e-mail and he could forward it but I'm still going to be locked out of my unit and I can't have a phone number for anybody else. Also - the place is infested with mice and rats which they are aware of bc there are black box rodent traps around the facility but they didn't disclose that at all. I also included pictures of a dead mouse I found in my unit. Again - somebody with decision making authority please contact me. Pics are before/after - cut lock - dead mouse

BEWARE Wolf in sheeps clothing! The staff is very polite and mostly helpful and the facility is very nice, clean for the most part , but there are some drawbacks as well . There's a lot of homeless around that loiter around outside the doors looking over your shoulder as you put your code in or sneaking in behind you cuz their own code doesn't work to let them in the building . They leave trash everywhere and urinate outside the building it's disgusting . Not sure if the management cares about that or not but it does make it feel rather unsafe at night when trying to deliver your things to your storage unit, its not really a safe thing to get confrontational with someone sneaking into the building behind you while it's your door code activating the door. Prior to my renting here from another storage company I asked about increases in rent. I specifically asked about how often and how much and was told that not for at least the first year and even then it would be about $25. Not unreasonable at all. BUT 6 months in and I get an email raising the rates over $125 PER MONTH!!! THAT'S RIDICULOUS!!! I never would have agreed to that had I known. Not to mention that the reduced rate that I was paying was not that much less than the market ask. In fact the current price for that same unit is $85 less than the increase. That's price gouging and it's unacceptable! I don't know who is running their books but you cannot advertise your market price and then charge somebody $100 above that just cuz you want to. That is a horrible business ethic. So a buyer beware when you come here! Really sad that a great facility just turned out to be so shady.

I visited Smart Storage this morning to resolve my past due balance for May. The service attendant, Taija (possibly misspelled name) she was totally rude. I advised that the online service to make a payment was not sending me the payment link. She refused to waive the lien fee ($125.00), stated that her decision was final because she was the Manager. Eventually after we went back and forth in our conversation, she was able to get Dan (District Manager) on the phone. Dan was extremely rude, interrupting me whenever I attempted to speak. Attempting to insult me by stating "Why don't you be a man...." Huh? He and I went back forth. The end result was the he would review my account, and the lien fee of $125.00. The fact was that their online system, as advised, was not working to send the payment link. I had brought this to their attention in several conversations with Representatives...ie, Jessica, Austin. In fact I was informed that my information (phone number, email address) would be updated so that I could process a payment online, instead of having to call in or visit the Branch to make a payment. Basically, Smart Storage is attempting to charge me additional fees due to their system not performing as advertised.

I am submitting this review of SmartStop self storage customer service agent Alejandro who is employed at the Smart Stop on 4730 E. Baseline Rd in Phoenix AZ. We we're having trouble registering for and getting a storage unit at the Smart Stop across the street, and Alejandro stepped in and straightened everything out for us, and worked on our behalf to get us the ideal storage unit. I can honestly say that I did not expect the level of competency and professionalism demonstrated by Alejandro, not only on our first contact with him but on every followup contact. You are indeed fortunate to have an employee such as he working on your behalf and representing your company. I was gratified by his honesty and his dedication, and intend to refer friends and acquaintances to his branch of your company when the opportunity presents itself because of the treatment and the professionalism demonstrated by him. I hope you will take a moment and share our great satisfaction with this gentleman because he deserves it and because he is a rare commodity in our society today. Robert C Phoenix, AZ

l have used Smart stop Storage. I am sure I have caused headaches for the associates. I don't remember one time that I did not need help to open my storage or lock it when leaving. Erynn has been a great help. I want to thank her very much. Dan today showed me how much the concern they have for their customers. I was here for almost 4 hours. Dan or Erynn had not seen or heard me. They both came up stairs to check on me. Of course. I was having a problem locking my storage. What would I do with out them. I want to share their concerns. I want to say thank you so much for carrying Patricia Priest.

I’ve asked corporate for an explanation on why my monthly rate keeps increasing 20.00extra to no avail. I first started paying 111.00 to now 180.00. They will harass you for payments but will not use that same energy to fix a wrong or make things right. It took a year for them to fix my access Pin#. Just know every surprise or special they give you is a BIG Let Down. During office hours No one is every their office is always locked. No crates or pulleys to move your stuff in or out. Bathrooms and Elevators are constantly out order. Rent here if you want to.

Paid for the unit until the end of the month. The employee Brian removed their lock and deemed my until vacant because I had nothing inside. I show up to move my stuff in and have no access to my unit even though it's paid for another two weeks. The solutions I was given was to pay for another unit, or wait an hour until the district manger can handle it. So here I am waiting an hour, with a car full of personal items, the office also closes on 1:15 mins. Will update once an hour is up.

Clean and spacious with a great customer service experience. Very close to my boutique location and it stays open until 10pm. The price is way better than any other's in the valley. I rented a 5x5 and it provides all the space needed at the moment. I'll recommend this location to anyone looking for storage needs. I actually moved my storage from one place that was horrible to this one just due to the comfortability I felt with the initial call.

This facility is the best I have encountered in my many years of storage utilization. It’s also because Erynn’s customer service is & Excellent across the board. Erynn was amazing and couldn't have asked for better service. She was very attentive and answered all of our questions. If you ever need a storage unit go to Erynn she'll take care of you and make sure it is exactly what you need. She cared about my time and my needs. This girls needs a raise. Very clean and secure facility. If there's a problem Erynn takes care of it.

My lady and I were having a little trouble finding a storage place we felt comfortable with, and wasn’t a burden on our pockets. Smart Stop really helped us out. The person that helped us BTYAN was a great help indeed he was friendly and helpful. Any questions we had he answered and was quick with it too. SmartStop Self Storage is a 10/10 facility for my storage purposes. Never have I felt let down or felt my items were at risk in this facility. It’s clean and well put together. Erynn made me feel very welcomed and comfortable renting a unit. She answered all my questions and provided me with peace of mind that my property would be well taken care of.

I never thought I would want to give a 5 star review to a Storage Unit however this location run by Sandra and Crystal is worth even more stars. They run this place perfectly. Clean. Friendly. Kind and very helpful in all areas. Would choose this location over a closer one for sure due to this team. God Bless!

I've been with smartstop for over 6 months now I've had a wonderful experience with this company I do highly recommend getting your storage at this location primarily because Bryan is absolutely amazing and treats you super fair. If any issues arises Bryan is quick to get the problem addressed!
