Snake Park is a great place to learn about snakes and see them up close. The park is located in Nairobi, Kenya, and it is home to a variety of snakes, including cobras, pythons, and mambas. Visitors can take a guided tour of the park, where they will learn about the different types of snakes, their habitats, and their behavior. They can also see the snakes up close and even hold some of them. The park also has a number of educational exhibits, including a snake venom display and a snake skeleton exhibit. There is also a gift shop on site where you can buy souvenirs and educational materials about snakes. I visited Snake Park on a recent trip to Nairobi, and I was really impressed. The park is well-maintained, and the snakes are well-cared for. The guided tours are informative and engaging, and the educational exhibits are well-done. Pros: Learn about snakes See snakes up close Informative guided tours Educational exhibits Gift shop Cons: Can be crowded during peak season Some snakes can be intimidating Overall: A great place to learn about snakes and see them up close! Here are some additional details about Snake Park: The park is open daily from 9am to 5pm. Admission is KES 500 for adults and KES 250 for children. There is a gift shop on site where you can buy souvenirs and educational materials about snakes. I hope this helps!

If you are visiting Snake Park, it is in the Nairobi National Museum. You have to log in to ecitizen to make payment, which takes a while. However, you can pay in advance if you are working on a planned schedule. I recommend the combined ticket which costs Ksh 300 per person and you get to tour the gallery and the Snake park which on their own costs Ksh 200 each. You will get to see tortoise, turtle, and crocodile as well. There are two restraunts in the museum for you to eat from. You get to access a lot of information in the gallery on Kenyan history, animals, culture, economy as well as human history with different artefacts on display. You can also purchase art from the art gallery.

Learned a lot about snakes. Dangerous ones are kept inside the frame, non dangerous are outside but circulated in a place where its surrounded with a small wall where you can see them moving around. This place has many to offer than seeing snakes. Many aquariums with different types of fishes, other reptiles like Crocodiles & Tortoises. I was fascinated to see Omieri, a giant female python which slithered to national limelight 30 years ago, has been put on public display too. Huge and Long snake, died in 1989 while receiving treatment courtesy of the Kenya Wildlife Service after it was burnt by a bush fire. This place is wheelchair accessibility. Our tour guide was very friendly and informative.
Our slithering friends can be scarely. But they are kept in a safe place. The glass separators give you a good view of them without being scared of their harm, though still your inner fear is there. My son enjoyed the close yet far encounter. He overcame his fear by knowing he was safe. Ooh, the question still linger, what's the difference between an alligator and a crocodile? The aquarium museum gives a relaxing feeling. What is it with water? The visit was worth every tiring step that we took. Wear comfortable shoes for walking or running if need be. Enjoy our heritage, too. The cost is extremely cheap but a good way to pass time with a learning experience.
The Snake Park is a disgrace to the Nairobi National Museum and to wildlife conservation in Kenya. It houses a multitude of reptiles (snakes, lizards, crocodiles, chameleons) in sometimes empty, extremely dirty and poorly maintained cages. The cage containing chameleons even had one dead chameleon. Furthermore, I was shocked when one of the museum employees approached me during my visit to offer me to hold a snake or a chameleon for a photo in return for a fee. This place is not a park, it's not educational, and it's not a reptile conservation or enhancement centre.
At the Nairobi snake you get to learn more about Reptiles and understand them better. Here in the Nairobi snake park you will find:crocodiles, alligator, turtles, lizards, tortoises, fishes and snakes. To emphasize on snakes, you will get to learn that three are about 3,000 species of snakes where by only about 600 species are venomous and 200 species of medical importance. Some people may not like snakes so much but once you visit this place you will change the negative perception about snakes instead you will have an awesome and great experience there after.
Nice little park, it’s better to buy the ticket with the museum ticket, (KSH 1500 for both). There are many snakes in the building, all of them in containers so it’s a bit sad, most of the reptiles aren’t moving which is understandable. Lots of vipers and mambas, they have a black mamba as well. There are some alligators and a lot of turtles. The fish section is fine with some eels and exotic fish. The entire visit took 20 mins.

This is a small collection of reptiles housed near the National Museum. Some harmless species of snakes, tortoises and lizards are in a little sunken garden, around which runs a covered corridor with glass cases containing the more deadly species: mambas, cobras, and Africa's most deadly snake - the puffer adder - are here. Larger enclosures have an American alligator and (separately) a Nile crocodile. There's also a small and rather dingy aquarium as part of the Snake Park; this one's avoidable.
Its a great place to learn about snakes in Kenya. If you are a Kenyan citizen, get your tickets from e-citizen. The missing 1 star is because there is a false website for combined museum and snake park visit. People are coned through that website, please check on this. Also if you want to enjoy the snake park on your first visit, buy a combined ticket with museum

The Snake Park at the National Museum of Kenya in Nairobi was a nice addition to the museum. It was right in the premise. It gave some detailed accounts of various kinds of poisonous snakes that live in Kenya and Africa. The volunteer guide again was very helpful and made the visit very interesting. We tipped him at the end of our visit.

Highly recommend this spot. Unassuming building and location within the museum grounds, but well worth the additional fee and time. See all sorts of endemic venomous snakes, crocs, alligator, tortoises, and turtles. Keepers will come around and let you hold boas, and touch the tortoises with supervision. Go see it!.

It's okay. Not too many snakes but there's enough. Both poisonous and constrictors. There's also turtles around and crocodiles There's also an aquarium. You can also hold a snake, probably a Python without paying extra. Good place to chill if you like snakes.

I really have NO idea how people can write five star reviews. The cages in which the animals are kept are mostly WAY (!!!) too small and dirty! I've been to a few zoos in my life before, but this was by far the saddest experience I‘ve made. I am really sorry that I supported this cruelty to animals by buying a ticket. I feel so sorry for those creatures :(
I absolutely loved the snake park. It’s a great place to go post museum—for only 300 additional shillings ($3 USD). They have quite a few snakes, a little aquarium section, some crocodiles, and then humans—guides who are willing to give you some good details on every animal. If you make your way to the museum, be sure to visit the snake park after.
They have lots of snakes and it is very cool and exciting. The compound is pretty small, less than half an hour is pretty much enough. The entrance fee is quite high, unless you combine it with the national museum - then it is worth it!

A very good place to visit.Get to learn Kenya's history not by words but actual photos dating over a century.Snake park and a few reptiles will add to the thrill and soothe the week end.

A very nice place to visit and see an interesting large variety of cobras and other snakes. There are a few crocodiles and other animals as well. The aquarium was smaller than I had expected but quite good actually. Just like most places, this place needs time to time renovations.
The place was great. I had a young gentleman who was giving some great facts about the snakes voluntarily. Although we went off to do our tour individually... The fishes in the Aquarium have the information covered. I was not sure why.. Overall, great visit, learning place too...
Un peu tristoune, les cages sont très petites, il y a peu d'explications concernant les animaux, je ne suis pas certain qu'il vaille forcément visiter le parc.

As much as for many of us the hairs rise on the mention of the word"Snake", it comforts to know mostly this limbless creatures will give us a wide berth if we just keep off their paths! Learn how the different species on display, are helping in the field of medicine.
Small but lovely reptile/snake zoo, with a small aquarium section. I was surprised by how many of the species on display are seriously venomous. I wouldn’t necessarily travel for this place alone, but it is a lovely add-on to a visit to the Kenya National Museum.
They've been very thorough in their field. Staff are friendly, as well as full of affection to snakes. They are high maintenance to snakes as well.

Amazing snakes and a wide variety of venomous and non venomous snakes, the great African Rock Python is well preserved in embalming fluid, tortoises and crocodiles from the nile crocodile to the American Aligator. A must go to for reptile lovers out there!
Housed in the national museum, this is a good option to spend few hours. Lot of snake species - it’s good to learn about different snakes and which part of Africa these are found , specially before heading into the wild from Nairobi :)
It's a really great place to visit. I'd recommend getting a guide from there as it makes the experience more fun!

If you love reptiles you will enjoy the visit to the snake park but generally the museum is a beautiful place to visit for nature lovers and historians. Very informative and you leave wowed by the beauty and history of our nation
В указанном парке можно увидеть змей, черепах, крокодилов, аквариумы с рыбами. По размерам очень маленький парк. Ничего особенного. В парке имеется экологическая трапа, которая очень короткая. Больше получаса там делать нечего.
Different snake species are here. But I loved the marine fish section. So much to learn and enjoy at snake park Nairobi.

A decent collection of snakes, some lizard's, and tortases. An older building that shows it's age. Worth a visit if you're at the national museum.
Very nice, although the animals have very little space, specially the eals. You can access this park with the same ticket as the museum.
You can see a big collection of snakes,If you are keen to see them through the glass at least this is a good place. But poorly maintained

The kids will love the trip. There are many types of snakes, marine, crocodiles, alligators, tortoises and turtles, chameleons, etc.
Brilliant place to go for adults or children. Prices are inexpensive and the personal tour guide we received made it even better
The snake park is relatively small than I thought. I loved the aquariums. Not so many reptiles as I thought there would be.
Most snakes were in glass boxes and hidden. It lacks a variety of snakes.. the python enclosure got my top marks. Loved it.
The best place to watch East Africa's diversity of fishes, reptiles & amphibians. Herpetology & ichthyology
Several types of snakes oh mi what a beautiful memory, just looking at them sends my blood down spine.
Very nice place to visit. Suggestion go with your children, they learn so many things about nature.
Snakes are considered in very poor conditions. Watch really worth while and very expensive ticket.
Frighteningly awesome. My reflexes were on high alert. Great place to safely interact with snakes
