It is mind blowing to me how this dentist office has so many five star reviews. I had found SoHo Dental Group three years ago when I was seeking a provider for Invisalign. Initially, I was excited because the office was new and clean, the receptionists were friendly, and Dr Gao was excellent. Now, this place operates with a disastrous amount of disorganization and miscommunication. Some examples why: 1. I was slated to have a six month treatment of Invisalign. That has now turned into THREE years with little to no explanation as to how or why that might be. The only response I get is “it’s up to you but I think you could use some more improvement.” I am now on the tenth set of additional aligners. Part of this has to due with the fact that there are so many inconsistencies with the doctors you are paired with at the time of appointment. I specifically request Dr Gao every time I schedule an appointment, knowing that she only works once a week. And 9 times out of 10, she is either unavailable or not in the office that day with no prior communication from the staff. 2. There was one time where I received a call that my new aligners were ready for pick up. I scheduled an appointment to make sure they were seated properly upon pickup, and when I sat down, a hygienist started preparing for a cleaning. I said I was there to pick up trays, and they said they didn’t have that in their appointment notes. When they went to look for the trays, they couldn’t find them and I ended up having to get another scan and wait 3 additional weeks. 3. I once showed up for an appointment I had, and they said they did not have me down on that day. How is it that I can be handed a piece of paper with the date/time on it, and then be told they didn’t have me scheduled?! Again, I had to take valuable time away from my work day to be turned away. Not to mention they will endlessly harass you with appointment reminders and requests to leave reviews through phone call, text message, AND email over and over again. If I wasn’t still receiving Insvisalign treatment, I would have left this practice long ago. The lack of accountability or acknowledgment on their end is extremely disappointing.

Two major problems when I called Soho Dental Group when a crown came off while I was in NY on business. (1) Bait and switch: While I was at the NYU dental urgent care clinic, I called SDG to ask if they would take my insurance. They said yes, and so I left NYU, which was going to require me to pay out of pocket, and went downtown. After I was in the chair and the dentist literally had me with my mouth wide open, he asked the receptionist to come in and she told me that insurance does not cover crown repair -- which is definitely *not true*. (2) Bad dental work that can't be repaired: The dentist permanently glued on my crown *askew* so that I needed substantial follow-up work at my own dentist to resurface the crown. And there is a big gap between the crown and the gum line with excess cement all over the edge, which requires special care when flossing and brushing. Absolutely horrible experience.

I’ve gone here multiple times but I think this will be my last time going. I went in March for a filling, which they did and it cost around $185 for the procedure… then the exact same tooth chips a few months later and suddenly I need a $2,000 crown? Feels a little bit like a set up, especially because it was the same tooth they treated a few months prior. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the amount of people who performed my “procedure”… there was like 2 or 3 different dental assistants who took scans, fitted me for a temp and cleaned my teeth… which made me feel like literally no one was actually paying attention to me or trying to actually fix my issue. As I sit here I am currently in excruciating pain from the crown procedure and needless to say once the crown is placed I will never return and I will find a better dentist, that actually pays attention to me when I’m in the chair.

Bunch of things that went down for me here. 1. They said my insurance does not cover ceramic/white filling. (I’ve one of the best insurance out there). Kept charging me for out of pocket for 8 visits. Until 6 months later, I accidently logged into my insurance account only to see that my insurance had refunded the clinic for all my filling. When I contacted them, the front desk said oh we did not check and reluctantly gave me a check back. 2. They made holes and digged out the smallest possible minor cavities and made unnecessary bills. My new dentist says most of this was absolutely not required. I left this clinic for good. I wish I knew earlier could have saved a ton of pain, discomfort and money.

Incredible....took me in right away each time, the Dentist are amazing and worth the trip, only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. The front desk is not knowledgeable, and instead of saying hold on let me find out, they give you an incorrect answer. Patient that’s paying in full for 6 Veneres, should be given adequate information and not be given and appointment time and when you confirm, 24 hours later they say sorry it was taken. Like I said Dr. Islam and Jose are top notch, wish front desk wouldn’t push money away from them, because in the end front desk is what brings patients and revenue through the door to meet the amazing dentist. Scare patients away means no money

Five stars! In a COVID-ridden time where going to the Dentist is even scarier than it was before, it's relieving to go somewhere where such care is taken to keep you as relaxed and comfortable as possible. This applies physically, but more importantly, psychologically. I had neglected my trip to the Dentist long enough that I would rather not disclose, but despite the pandemic and my pre-existing reluctance, SoHo Dental Group, particularly Dr. Ziwei Gao and her support staff have revived my faith in the practice. The pressure is now on to keep my teeth in as good of shape as possible to minimize trips... but if I must go.. and I must indeed, I will go to SoHo Dental.

I had a amazing experience at Soho dental group. I was in a lot of pain and Natalie was able to accommodate me for A quick appointment. When I got there she took took my temperature which I felt safe that they took all safety measurements. And Dr. Islam took care of me and my pain. She explained everything she was doing she was very professional and very nice. She was able to help my pain. I would recommend this dentist to anyone who is looking for a very good, professional dentist office. The entire staff there is amazing! Thank you Dr. Islam and thank you Natalie. This is officially my permanent Dental office from now on

I highly recommend Soho Dental and have only good things to say about my experience with Dr. Khalife. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional, I was never left waiting and scheduling appointments was easy. If you have anxiety about going to the dentist go see Dr. Khalife, she is warm, friendly, and most importantly - very good at her job! I had to get several procedures done and each one went smoothly with little discomfort (considering the circumstances). Everything was explained up front so I knew what to expect. I'm so glad I went to Soho Dental, definitely the best experience at the dentist I've ever had :D

As someone who is reluctant to make trips to the dentist I can’t say enough good things about this place. Every single staff member was friendly and professional. They were on time and I was blown away by the attention to detail on my cleaning as well as the technology they use during my examination. Dr. Leonetti explained everything to me and could not have been better. Christina was fantastic and I was extremely satisfied with the teeth whitening services that were provided. I live over an hour away from Manhattan, but I will definitely be back in 6 months for my next cleaning! Well worth the trip!

SoHo Dental Group has been the absolute best experience at the dentist I've had in my adult life. I've never had cavities filled before and was honestly terrified but my dentist was incredibly patient and caring every step of the way (even when I almost fainted at the sight of the numbing needle and needed to reschedule for when I was feeling more up to the occasion). Every person working in this office is so kind and makes you feel welcome and taken care of. Thank you!

Wow! One of THE most pleasant experiences ever at a dentist in NYC! From the moment you arrive in an attractive, light filled office (in SoHo), everyone is friendly and pleasant. My dentist listened carefully, examined thoroughly, and explained clearly. I was given the opportunity to fill out for pages of forms online prior to arrival. There were some very good questions about dental history in there, which made one feel comfortably understood. My wait was minimal.

Booked an appointment with Dr. Dorfman but when I arrived, I was seen by another Doctor. Even though the new doctor was professional and everyone at the office was friendly, no one told me the reason why I was not seen by Dr. Dorfman even though my appointment stated specifically “with Dr. Dorfman”. I understand things happen and I am ok with being seen by another doctor, but a heads up would have been nice. Other than that, the office was new and clean.

Wow! I have to be honest, a trip to the dentist office as an adult is never something to look forward too, when you add a 5 year old to the mix it tends to get scary. What a great experience we had at soho dental group! From the doctor to the staff it was a pleasant experience. They made my 5 year old feel beyond comfortable and made it an awesome experience. I would highly recommend the staff and office to anyone looking for a new dentist!!

Amazing doctors, and staff. Every time my husband and I go for an annual exam or any treatment the care given is always extraordinary. As soon as we walk through the door we are greeted with kindness and understanding. The receptionists, technicians and the doctors all communicate with each other and with us in terms of our plan of care. It’s just such a caring and warm environment when we go. We always leave very satisfied and happy.

Such a nice office! The receptionist was incredibly nice and helpful, as was the dentist and dental hygienist that I saw. I ended up coming here by accident for an emergency appointment because my previous dentist couldn’t fit me in. Needless to say I will be a patient here as long as I live in NYC. They saw me immediately and made sure they were very thorough in their examination. Couldn’t be happier with being a patient here

I normally never write reviews, but this was hands-down the best experience I've had at the dentist. Dr. Gao was amazing - very friendly, gave me a super thorough cleaning, and gave an honest and fair assessment of my dental work options without trying to upsell me. She really seemed to care and want what's best for me. Also the rest of the staff was very nice, and the place itself had a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to Soho dental group since they opened, and love it. The office is great- sparkling clean and modern, and the staff are absolute pros. I just had the best and most painless cleaning I’ve ever received, Which is huge because I have such sensitivity in my mouth. I enjoy going there so much, that I’ve convinced my elderly parents to switch to Soho dental group as well, and they couldn’t be happier.

Went in for a dental cleaning today and the staff was super nice and professional. I always have a fear that the dentist would mess up during cleaning and make me bleed more than cleaning. That was not the case for my appointment today. Long story short, my teeth are super clean and white and I felt great during the whole process. I was looking for a new dentist and was recommend this place by a friend. The office is great and the dentists and dental hygienists were very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Khalide spent a lot of time with me and answered any question I had. Front desk staff was friendly and helped with issues with my insurance. Would highly recommend! Great millennial, clean office in the center of SoHo!

They deserve all of the stars— I often get nervous before a dental appointment, especially one that is long overdue. SoHo Dental really took care of me, and were communicative, concerned, and so responsive to all of my questions (and I ask plenty of them). I’m so glad to have found this place, do yourself a favor and visit their lovely office. They made a dreaded experience a joy!

Literally the best experience at the dentist's office I've ever had. Everyone was so nice, considerate of my pronouns, efficient and clear in their communication. Even helped remove an old retainer that's been bothering me. Sam did my cleaning and met with Dr Islam. Front office vibes on point, great music, just a dope spot. Will actually have me coming to my 6 month appt.

Not sure how this place has 5 stars but I had the worst dental checkup experience. The dental hygienist was so rough literally pinching my lips as she was cleaning which is not necessary at all. Not only causing me pain but she was terrible at flossing. She flossed 4 teeth before giving up and what’s worse I had floss stuck in my teeth that I had to get out after my visit.

BEST experience everrr!! Most thorough cleaning I have ever received. Everyone in the office was so lively and pleasant. I especially loved how thorough the office was with obtaining the correct insurance information. if you are feeling hesitant about going to this office, don't be. I did not go to this dentist place due to other reasons, but, what I can tell you is that a woman named Natalie, who I believe is the front desk supervisor did an AMAZING job at answering all my questions and concerns regarding dental work and procedures. She even told me other places I can call to get more coverage out of my insurance, amazing amazing service!

5 stars! The assistant at the front desk was very kind. Love that they're digital, so my new patient paperwork was a breeze. My hygienist was awesome, she did a very thorough cleaning of my teeth and pointed out a few things the doctor would review with me in my x-rays. Then Dr. Khalife was the icing on the cake with her gentle manner and friendly personality.

Very clean and modern dental office. I made an appointment on relatively short notice to catch up on my post-pandemic dental health, had no trouble booking the time, and was promptly taken into the exam room. Hygienist and dentist both took the time to explain what they were doing and best practices for my oral health. Strongly recommend visiting this office.

Beautiful space. Extremely clean. Nice, friendly staff. Up-to-date equipment. Dr. Leonetti was super efficient, clear, and kind. I appreciated that he didn't pressure me with any unnecessary dental procedures, where other dentists have in the past. Overall, I'm very pleased with my experience and I'll be looking forward to coming back for my next cleaning.

Saw Dr. Gao for a very last minute issue of a chipped tooth. They were lovely enough to respond so late at night via email to me. And managed to fit me in the very next day. Everyone at the office was so kind and accommodating. I was fixed up and out the door within an hour. They are not my primary dentist, but I may just have to switch when he retires!

I had a fantastic experience here! From the cheerful front desk staff to the very informative and educational dental staff. I had been struggling with dental pain for MONTHS that other places didn't know how to treat. The staff here educated me on what was going on to cause pain, treated me, and I feel good as new. Will be returning for all visits!

An unprofessional office that mis advertises pricing and in network insurance coverage. They administrators of the office do not understand insurance reimbursement requirements. On your first visit do no expect to see a dentist. The dentist will just leave before ever seeing you. They will also miss quote you on service costs.

I LOVE the team here! Front desk staff is AMAZING and super nice. The doctors are great (Dr. Gao and Dr. Leonetti are my faves), and the rest of the team has been great too (Jose and a few others I can’t remember names off top of my head). I actually look forward to my checkups and have told all my friends about this office.

I asked them about my insurance and they said we accept the insurance, then after traveling from upstate ny to NYC, they said we are sorry it appears that we don’t accept that insurance, but we can treat you as a special customer for $150!! they wasted my time and effort, checking the insurance is basics!!

Best medical experience I’ve ever had. Staff is friendly and on top of it. They walk you through X-rays on flat screens, can tell you out of pocket costs based on your insurance from inside the exam room, etc. Cleaning was great, hygienist and dentist were so knowledgeable and patient. Whoever put on my temporary crown decided to use the wrong material so it fell out less than 24 hours later. I’m in intense pain and the front office decided to play the blame game rather than fix their mistake. They try to overcharge me every time I go in. Don’t recommend at all.

Soho Dental Group has been amazing. I was unable to come into the office and they shipped my Invisalign trays to me and held a virtual appointment with me. They are super responsive and helpful. One of the better experiences I’ve had with a doctors office.

The Soho Group was great! They agreed to see me the same day when I was in excruciating pain, diagnosed my issue & referred me to an oral surgeon that I went to see the very next morning. I was impressed at how quickly it all happened. I highly recommend!

Said I need 4 fillings and a root canal, i go to another dentist and he laughs and says I just need 1 filling no root canal. Saved me from an invasive procedure & hundred of dollars. Save your money and go to a more conservative dentist.

Beautiful modern office. Conveniently located in SoHo. Sat in the chair and got my X-rays done then got to see them up on a big screen while I got my teeth cleaned. The dentists were great - it actually made the experience less painful.

What a great practice! In addition to the best cleaning I’ve had ever. My son insisted on zero local for three cavities, so the Dr gave in and my son didn’t feel a thing. That’s a major wow! Just lovely, competent people all around!

Doctors Leonetti, Khalife and Dorfman are among the best in the game. I have had everything from cleanings, root canals and extractions and have always had great experiences. They make going to the dentist almost fun.

Just had my first appointment at SoHo Dental Group. The new office is beautiful, the Staff were as kind as can be, and the Dentist was very friendly and extremely professional.
