My review is broken up into a couple of different aspects. General: The building is a remodeled 1929 building with many remaining features and character, the staff were absolutely amazing and courteous and everything you could ask for. I thoroughly appreciated the 24/7 dedicated staff and security guard at the desk right in front of the main door, which definitely added some peace of mind. The interior of the building is extremely well maintained, clean, and well lit, with a pleasant scent. The hotel offers LARGE convenient luggage lockers which I wish every hotel offered, a nice comfortable lounge and a 5th floor court yard. The hotel also had a clean space for meditation and yoga. I also enjoyed the code/mobile key entry in place of easy to loose cards. Area Pros: This area has a ton of great nearby restaurants and coffee shops, with a nearby Whole Foods, which makes extended stays a breeze if you plan on preparing food in your room. Also close proximity to Angel's flight and The Last Bookstore if you are looking for something fun to do. Cons: This location is in the jewelry district of downtown Los Angeles and like most urban areas is still recovering from societal and economical issues that were exacerbated by COVID, while I don't fault the brand for this, but there are a fair amount of transients ranging from sleeping around the corner to aggressively shouting or pan handling, while the hotel and security do a great job keeping those issues away from the front door area of the property, if you plan on walking anywhere or even to the adjacent parking lots you will experience that and should plan accordingly. However, if you are traveling alone, i saw security on several occasions, wait out front with guests waiting for their Uber which is a nice gesture. Room Pros: The rooms are well appointed and furnished with higher end then average furnishings and materials, bathrooms, kitchens etc. The hotel also provides a white noise machine for each bed as well as several pairs of disposable ear plugs. Our room had a full kitchen including Stove, sink, dishwasher, electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster, large fridge/freezer, pots & pans, knives, utensils, cups, plates, bowls etc. but no microwave. The linens and bed were very nice and comfortable. Our room also had two bathrooms which was amazing for our family and pretty unheard of in rooms of this size. Cons: The room layouts are quirky we stayed in a "2 Bedroom" which consisted of 3 separate spaces, Room A with no closet or tv with a full/double size bed. Room B, the main bed (not a pull out) a queen being in the main living area with the kitchen and a table and two chairs and no couch. Room C, a third room with a desk and closet but no bed. There is a fair bit of city noise, I recommend, staying on a high as possible floor, and double checking to make sure all your windows are closed and locked to mitigate the noise. Our room did not have a microwave so we had to go to the lounge to reheat food which is less than ideal. The rooms had a Roku tv for you to sign in to any apps you subscribe to in the room but due to the the way the Roku tv communicated with the internet we could not get any app except Disney+ to work and even then lagged occasionally, we are quite tech savvy and troubleshooted a fair bit but no success. Suggestions to the Property: I recommended adding a better description of the room and/or picture of the most common layouts to avoid surprises or disappointments for guests, in general we still probably would have stayed but may have booked a room type that better fit our needs. If our experience with the TVs was not isolated, i would recommend resolving that and adding a tv to each room not just one in the common area. I would also add a microwave to each room as those are almost standard in even the cheapest hotels.

I really loved this hotel. The historic look in downtown modernized for convenience definitely made this a hotel unlike one I’ve stayed at before. I stayed in one of the 2 bedroom suites which came with a full washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, kitchen with stove top, sink, dishwasher and all the necessary supplies to use them. Including soap, sponges, etc. With Whole Foods close by we loved this convenience. The beds were cozy, the bathrooms clean and spacious, the sofa bed could even probably fit 2 small bodies on it if necessary. They do provide ear plugs if the downtown is too noisy for you. There is a lounge on one of the floors with an adjacent small library and kitchen which had a microwave (the room didn’t have one), and the rooftop access with a view of downtown. The staff and security were super friendly and pleasant but not very knowledgeable of the area. You had to enter the hotel with a pin on an outside keypad so it made you feel safe and secure inside. I really want to give this hotel 5 stars. However- I can’t. My only complaint with this hotel is PARKING! This hotel, despite being built with suites for extended stays has no place to safely park cars. We were told to use a lot that’s behind the hotel entrance in an unsupervised lot. We had to wake up every morning to get down there before 6 to pay the days parking which is really inconvenient when we have long nights. Although they state there’s also street parking, it’s really impractical with the bus stops and food vendors posted there all night. The day before our last day on our way to pay for parking we discovered our car broken into and attempted to be stolen. The staffs reaction was simply “oh no”. There’s a reason there’s signs plastered all over that they’re not responsible for damage. There is a parking structure around the corner attached to St Vincent’s that you can park 24/7 but you can’t enter your vehicle between 10pm-5am. Which we learned about after spending an hour scouring the internet and driving around. Unfortunately until they fix their unsafe parking situation I won’t stay at this hotel again. (The St Vincent’s parking structure is impractical when you come in late from a day on the town) I would stay if they came up with some other situation, bought a lot, made me pay for valet, anything but the parking is extremely sketchy for such a high end hotel. Hopefully once they take care of that, I can book them again.

Beautiful and cozy. Like being in an apartment.
Safety
A pretty sketchy area of downtown and hard to find the hotel from the street. Our car was broken into as the lot we were told to park in had no attendant and was open to the public. Parking is around the corner from the hotel so you had to walk a ways to get to the entrance. Once inside you’re extremely safe and secure with a pin pad to access entry into the lobby and security feet away from the front door.
Food & drinks
Kitchen to cook meals in room. Plenty of places around the area to eat/drink. No restaurants or food for purchase available in the hotel.

It was my pleasure to stay in this hotel! My room #302 was on the 3rd floor with a beautiful view on the 7th St. The one of the main thing I appreciate in rooms is a view. This hotel provides an excellent one by having the whole glass wall in the rooms, so you would have the impression you're in the city but still in your private atmosphere. Amazing and charming. I liked it so much about my room. The building is located in historical Jewelry District and surrounded by Jewelry shops and a lot of beautiful cafes along the 7th St to the West. It also comfortable to visit Disney music Hall and Contemporary museum of art along the street in two books from the hotel The bus stops is just under the building in front of the entrance, and the metro station is about 3 blocks away - quite comfortable. Excellent combination of price and quality. I like the design of the rooms and the slender of the building! The atmosphere is very fancy and conducive to a beautiful holiday and feeling you're home. The room is very spacious. There are a lot of different lights and fully equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable to have a good nap. However, to my surprise there were no usb ports in the room to charge my equipment (phone, tablet, camera) and no adapters. So take care about it in advance or take a look around the hotel in local small electrical stores or CVS pharmacy. I also appreciate the service and welcoming stuff in the hotel. They always were polite, helpful, and nice to talk. Will definitely chose this hotel my next staying at LA and recommend it to my friends! It met my expectations of privacy and beautiful relaxation.

Pros: great location as most things are in walking distance, rooms are spacious, there’s a nice lounge, and you can get your own essentials on the 5th floor as needed. You can use your key code or virtual key through the app to get in and out of the room and lobby. People are very friendly in the lobby. The noise is not an issue for me as I’ve been in many cities and am used to the noise. Cons: For my specific room, the dryer wasn’t working well. I dried my clothes for half the day before they were dry. The kitchen sink water pressure was zero to none so I couldn’t even hardly rinse or wash my dishes. The dishwasher pod area wouldn’t close so I also couldn’t use the dish washer. The automatic lights are cool but when I was taking a shower it would often turn off the lights in the middle of it which is terrifying lol. They also ask when booking if you want housekeeping which I marked no, but everyday someone knocked on my door to ask if I wanted housekeeping. When you book it’s an extra charge so that’s why I marked no. I put trash by the door as a reminder to take it out but forgot. When I came back I noticed the trash was gone. I’m not sure if housekeeping was coming into my room everyday or not but it was a little unsettling because why have the option if it’s not taken into consideration. I would stay here again cause I liked the free rein of it.

We stayed in a 2bd/2ba premium suite for three nights while we attended a tournament at the LA Convention Center and would definitely consider staying again. Location is fine - we walked to the convention center every day. It's 1 mile, so took about 30 minutes. The beds were comfortable, although not quite queen-sized if you ask me. There was typical downtown street noise that didn't bother us but may be a concern for some. The only issue we encountered was that there was no extra comforter for the sofa bed. The chat agent was responsive, but not able to find any staff to deliver a comforter. We said we could try using extra towels as a blanket and they directed us to the Essentials closet on the 5th floor, but there were no towels. The chat agent said they would have someone deliver some to us, but that never happened. The sofa bed is also not that comfortable as is typical for most sofa beds. Parking is a little weird too...there's a open lot behind the hotel on Hill St. You can pay $12 at the machine to park till 6 AM or $25 to park till 10 AM. It's an open lot which may seem concerning, but we didn't have any problems while we were there. Overall, it's a great option as long as you understand this is a limited service property.

Stayed in a 2bed unit, it was very clean and looks new. I will say this before anything else, the windows are very old and thin and you can hear all the downtown traffic, you need to bring your own earplugs!!!! One bedroom had a white noise machine but I did not need it with my earplugs. (UPDATE: They provide earplugs now) But the unit was amazing! It had two bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a kitchenette, full laundry and a living room/dining table. It was more than I expected! It was a great space. Service was great, there is always someone there to respond to questions, but you can resolve anything within the app, you can extend the checkout time and also request cleaning service. Location was good, I was going to the convention center, it was a 20 min walk. It was close to great restaurants..

I was very disappointed when I booked through the website. On the website there is a sign saying that this hotel has parking. But when I arrived at the hotel The hotel does not have its own parking lot. Must park in a private parking lot outside the hotel. I asked the officer and he told me to park at Paragon Parking. It's free and 3 minutes away from the hotel. But when I search the GPS it's 11 minutes away!!! And when you get there it's not free. Must pay parking fee 25dollar per night I was so angry that I drove to the hotel again. And found that behind the hotel, just a 30-second walk away, there is parking for a fee. 15dollar per night Giving advice from the hotel is very poor. But in the hotel rooms, the rooms are good, clean, beautiful, and safe.

We had such a great time here- I can't speak highly enough of the staff. They were all so personable and helpful, genuinely sweet and accommodating. We came for a Halloween concert so we were dressed really annoying and strange and the staff was still SO KIND AND FUN! Rooms are gorgeous and pristine, the windows are old school and offer great views! There are some really cool facilities too, the lounge and library are beautiful. I'll definitely stay here again, I'm bummed we only got to stay one night. Thanks, guys!!!

The room I stayed in was nice other than how dirty my socks got. The room was large like a studio apartment, but with a small office and sitting room. There was a kitchen set up with a stove, pans, and dishes only missing an oven The hotel is within walking distance of the Orpheum Theater, where I went to see "CHUU: Howl in USA" now solo from the disbanded K-pop group LOONA.

Amazing customer service. Great location. Very secure. Rooms were very clean and had great amenities. If you can't sleep in the city noises, this won't be for you. They do offer ear plugs and a white noise machine, which is very thoughtful. The people at the front/security are kind and warm as well! Great stay for us. A con: rooms were oddly structured.

We loved our stay and we will definitely be back. It was reasonably priced and very spacious. The outside noise was not too bad, but we've stayed downtown before. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the staff were super friendly. We are looking forward to next time.

Great location and the rooms are very nicely sized. However, Sonder tries to automate everything so getting help from a real person - even to get a room cleaned - can be tricky. Also, noise insulation is poor and noise from the street carries into the rooms.
