I had my first session of laser about two weeks ago and I would never recommend this place to anyone to laser for below reasons: 1) First time that I called them the technician told me my first session would be $ 200 and also when we had a consultation but they charged me $ 250! And at the end made me feel that I need to pay tips as well which I paid % 12 tip also! They lie easily to get clients and when the client made her decision to select them for the service then they don’t care anymore! It was so tricky and still, I can not believe that they fool me because I explained to them that I take medication and I have been suffering from PTSD and I am unable to work and I receive OW, but unfortunately they just did care about their money, not client situation and they were not honest when we had a consultation. Still, I don't know what was the best treatment for me. 2) The technician forgot my knees and upper part of my legs and when I told her she started denying it and she didn't do it! 3) She was not an expert because she was not aware that she needs to change the laser degree depending on different areas and also it was painful at the lower part of my legs which It was really difficult for me to get to the train station to go home and finally and most important part is the skin of my both legs were burned! And still are like that and I can not show my legs when I go out. I wish I was able to share a pic. 4) They realized that I am not a local and I have a simple personality then they found me easy to fool. I hope this never happens to someone else and hopefully, you would get my point through my text because English is my 5th language.

The good: They do use a very good laser for permanent hair removal. The bad: 1) The technician missed two spots the first time I came there and the second time as well. 2) I inquired about their cellulite reduction program. The receptionist said that I need an appointment for a consultation. I asked her how much time this initial consultation would take. She said 5 minutes. I asked if I could have the consultation now since I was already there so that I would not have to drive again to the spa to have the consultation (it is a long drive for me). And the receptionist replied "The aesthetician will now go on her break. You have to book a separate appointment." This anti-cellulite program costs $1,000, and the aesthetician can't take 5 minutes off her break so that the customer will not have to drive for 30 minutes to the spa to have a 5-minute consultation? They seem to value their own time more than their customer's time. Also, I would like to share a very interesting observation: most of the 5-star reviews are written by either people who have registered an account with Google+ for the sole purpose of writing a glowing review for Sophia Esthetic, or, if you google their names, have some sort of connection to the field of aesthetics.

I have been a client of Sophia Aesthetics for over 10 years and for the most part very satisfied with the services - I do understand that prices of everything have gone up and this is reflected in the cost of all things these days - However for many years I paid 35 for an extended bikini - then a couple of years ago it went up to 55 I did question the receptionist at the time why such a big increase and she was unfriendly and unhelpful - then only a year later and all of a sudden my bill was 73! Really big increases, no apology or even a warning that prices have increased - it all seems a little random and very large increases - Also I had a brown tint - my browns were over trimed and almost black - when I had asked for a warm brown - I have very fair and delicate eyebrows - so must admit not looking that good right now and going on holiday in a week - So due to the very steep increase in prices - I very sadly have to say goodbye to your establishment - For future clients maybe a little warning when prices go up so dramatically would be a nice touch - Thank you for all the good years and you will be missed greatly Lisa

I booked for bro-zilian waxing. I drove an hour to get there. I was 10 min late, which I accept it was my fault. But I could not find the staff at the desk less caring and helpful. I was not even offered to book for another time. When I asked that I need to call for another time, she just shrugged her shoulders. I was like "Is it really the place that I want to come every month? I do not think so." It was a half an hour appointment. The day after I found a very professional, welcoming and friendly place, the same price for an hour service with high time flexibility. Because I had to travel for an hour to there, the aesthetician at the new place even made an after time session to help me out. Thanks god I was late. The same price and probably the same service but two different attitudes.

The service provided to the clients of this business is OUTSTANDING! From their friendly greetings on arrival, delicious coffee or a glass of water when requested, to the wonderful care they provide during their services, it's my absolute favourite spa in Ottawa. More important even than client service is the cleanliness of the spa. There is no double dipping in the wax, they use sterile tools and their rooms are extremely clean. This was very important to me given the fact that I receive medical grade facials and services. I’ve been a customer for many years. I can’t say enough good things about this spa. But my review is actually about one of the products that Sophia sells. All Calm - by Colorscience which I use in place of foundation. Put it on once in the morning and you never have to touch it up all day. It covers redness and evens out your complexion but still looks natural. It is amazing! And don’t be afraid of the price. It is a little more expensive but worth every penny. I just finished my first bottle and I have had it for about 6 months. Just a tiny amount covers your whole face. I highly recommend this product. And I highly recommend Sophia and her spa. Unlike any other spa I have ever been to. Exceptional quality and service with a personal touch.

I've been a client of Sophia Esthetic for several years and I will post the same review now as I did when I first started going here as a testament to their client services. The staff are professional and knowledgeable but friendly and accommodating, and the level of service is still as high as it was years ago. With some businesses you are treated very well initially but over time the service level becomes average as they realize that you will likely remain a client of theirs. This is not the case with SE, as the quality of service has remained 10/10 throughout the years.

Sophia and her team show us time and time again why they are leaders in Ottawa Salon scene. Let's face it - no one wants to get a Brazilian. They are painful and can sometimes be frankly awkward. Unfortunately, I've had some poor experiences at other salons in the past. I can safely say I always end up coming back to Sophia Esthetic. This place offers the quickest and least painful wax I've ever had. All the technicians are fantastic. My first wax here wasn't amazing, but I completely understand that my first Esthetician was newer, and was just having an off day. After leaving a review the first time, the owners reached out and offered me a full free service - which many places wouldn't do, and was super appreciated. I had Josie for my second wax, and she was absolutely awesome! Kind, thorough, and efficient. It was definitely one of the best waxes I've ever had!
